AHS gives customers the runaround. Can't say how many times l have had to intervene with them or their contractors to get my work complete. Right now l have a plumbing issue that has been opened for three weeks and only partially complete.

We've had two properties for many years under their product. This year our Air codisinging went out and they wouldn't do shit. Even after two technicians told us that we should be covered, they did nothing. I am cancelling two polices that we had on our primary home and vacation home. Been with them for a decade or more. Horrible customer service. No follow up.

It took them over 6 weeks to repair my air conditioner in the middle of summer, because the diagnosis team would not conclude I needed a new air conditioner. Also no one I spoked to on the phone when I complained could improve my situation. I made many calls and it was incredibly frustrating. Sometimes I was on hold for over and hour and then my call was dropped. On more then one occasion the customer service representative had a difficult time communicating with me. They were resistant to me speaking to a supervisor. The vendors , however, do nice work.

Very poor customer service the person that's suppose to be a representative does not have answers as to why the service is not being taken care of in my case American Shield has not given the plumbing co the purchase order to replace my hot water tank and when I ask why I get there is no update in the computer so I need to contact the plumbing and the plumbing co says when we get the purchase order we will put you on the schedule so in the mean time I am without hot water for many days so would I recommend them no not with what I am experiencing.

I wouldn't rate them with any stars if I could the first time I called to have help with my duct work I was told that it's a pre-existing problem and was denied well the ductwork has been in this house since it was built in 1977 there's no water damage so I'm not quite sure other than it being over 40 years old what the pre-existing problem would be very unfair

they are very misleading in the information. Given 2 options. Let AHS buy and install a new microwave or they would allow me to buy my replacement and they would pay me up to $470. or whatever the value was of mine at the time. I had paid my $100 service fee but if I purchased my own they would not pay for the repairman to install the microwave but they would pay for him to install it if they purchased it. I was never able to make a choice they did it and said my repair order was complete and closed. The phones and their agents are not acceptable.

I still have an old furnace in my basement that AHS paid to have removed! I have called AMS to have the vendor to 1. Return the money for work not completed, 2. Pain another vendor to remove the furnace. This has been going on for a year, and AHS just ingnores my request, never has a follow up call with a supervisor as I have ask for repeatedly either!!! If AHS hires this vendor, then AHS should make sure the job is completed, period! Now, after 16 months, I'm still stuck with the old furnace in my basement, so what will AHS do about this now?

I signed up for an Electronic Warranty. I am trying to cancel it and it has become very difficult to do so.. there is no accidental damage coverage when a customer service agent confirmed it was and now I cant cancel and getting a long run around.

AHS failed to provide my phone number to the contractor, resulting in my work order being canceled. After hours on the phone to correct this, I have received two additional service fee charges of $100 apiece for no reason. Have called twice and been told twice they'd be canceled, but continue to receive emails warning me about past due payments. Very frustrating.

I called and spent 30 min on hold to talk to someone and then spoke to Beb. She put into the system that the AC and ductwork when I really needed the heater to be looked at. I said since they are out there then have them check both the heater and the A/C. The technician called me and said that she only put down A/C so he wouldn't be able to look at the heater. I wasn't happy about that. He went a head and looked at the heater but, when I got home I had to spend another 30 min on the phone explaining what had happened. plus you don't clean the ducts which I didn't know.

They are a complete waste of money and only survive because they pay websites to give them favorable reviews without ever checking with actual customers. Do not use them. You will be sorry

I was charged for an access fee of $250 because the contracted AC person did not have their own ladder. Getting American home shield to reassign the issue to a different company just resulted in them assigning this back to the same company that didn't have their own ladder. Getting them to find a contractor that can do the work instead of being assigned to a very small pool of contractors. Also was charged another service fee for asking for a second opinion after the customer service rep offered me options when I did not agree with the plumber that spent 10 seconds on 'diagnosis'.

$75 per problem. They said they can have three problem fixed at the same time (with that $75 per visit), but the plumber that showed up said he can only fix the toilet but not other problems (sprinkles, etc.). So it means that for three different problems they call three different people/company and that could cost $75x how many problems. I don't see a point of buying the insurance
