Where do I start? First off I WAY overpaid for a system that provided inconsistant coverage and playback ability of alarm videos. That was my fault for not doing more comparative shopping. I was getting better coverage with my simple ring cameras. The big kicker is when I sold my house and tried several times to transfer my account to the new home owners Vivint instead created a new account for them and I still had to pay of the $1400 balance of the three year contract. So Vivint was able to double dip on the same system! Their customer service farms you out to foreign call centers to very poor English speakers and they pass you around from one department to another until you get dropped or tired of waiting on them. I wasted $3k in equipment and $3k in service contract so trust me when I say go any other way but don't go vivint!

The sales process of buying into the service was very smooth. The service was in my name for my elderly mother. After two years of using the service, my mother took a turn for the worst and no longer able to live independently. I tried to cancel the service for now two months, starting on December 1st, 2023, without any success. I have tried to cancel four times over the last two months, with very long phone calls. I even received a service charge for Dec. 2023 and Jan. 2024, when the system is completely offline. I was given a long reading of the policy on cancellation during the first call, and was told I couldn't cancel because my mother is not on the account. I also was told I had to pay off the equipment loan to cancel the service on a different call. I then was told on my third call that I had to pay the service charges when the service is offline. I said no. I was threatened that my credit score will be impacted if I don't pay. I have filed a dispute with my bank and block the charges from coming in.

Vivint's equipment and service were excellent. Make sure you read the details of your contract. I recently sold my residence and had to cancel the service. I knew I was on the hook for paying off my loan for the equipment. What I failed to realize was that there was a penalty for canceling my contract early. The service people were professional but hard to understand (assuming customer service is provided out of another country). After canceling on line I still was required to send an email confirming my cancellation.

Our alarm went off twice and they did not call, text or email us. The entire reason for the security system is the monitoring. They should contact us everytime the alarm goes off. We did not finance our equipment. Maybe that's why service is lacking for us. If the monitoring is not improved we may have decisions to make on Vivint monitoring service or lack of.

I currently have a Vivint security system. I love that I am able to monitor all my cameras from my phone. After our initial system was set up, we did call customer service and requested more cameras to be installed. The technicians did a great job too.

My Installer was absolutely FANTASTIC!!!! I actually love the system and wrote down 12-Additional References to have their home Secured by Vivint. HOWEVER, the down-side of their Financing Program is indeed harmful!!! My Credit Score was in the mid 700 Range, and my Credit Utilization was under 3%!! That's Low!!! So I had No Problem permitting Vivint to perform a 'Soft Credit Check' to a "Hard Credit Check" upon Arrival for INSTALLATION. Yet, just that quick their Financing Bank CAUSED MY CREDIT SCORE TO DROP 60PTS!!!!!! That's not good!!!!! Had I known that, I wouldn't have Financed any of the Equipment or Service. I thought this was a smart route b/c I actually don't have any debt and this would place me in 'Currency Circulation.' So definitely think HARD & TWICE BEFORE utilizing their Credit Program!! Just think, if your Credit Score is NOT in the 700's or 800's, you 'could-be' facing a major hit!!! This alone forced my overall rating of Vivint to diminish!!

I like that fact that it's digital, And very friendly to use the App on your cell phone. Makes it very convenient. What I think would make it even a better product than it's competitors, if Vivint offered bedroom window sensors. That would be a major plus.

The price of service after having paid for the materials is reasonable. What I dislike the most is that the system does not operate the garage panel. Therefore one can not open the garage for a package delivery when they are away from home which my previous service company was able to do and this action is extremely convenient, exspecially when one is out of town for a day or more. I understand the camera will watch the package delivered to the porch, but not nearly as convenient and secure as having the package placed inside the garage.

I think the service is terrible. We have been having issues with the main panel going down and when we get notifications on our phone, we try to view it and it just shows the loading signal. What is the purpose of having a security camera if you can’t see the alert? If we were getting robbed, there would be no way for us to take preventative measure. We pay a lot of money for service we are not satisfied with. The company is dishonest as well. I understand a sales rep job is to sell the product but to lie is not a great technique because guess what?! We’ve told all our family, friends and neighbors NOT to get Vivint. We asked about military discounts and the rep said that in November in honor of Veterans Day the discount will kick in and we’ll have that military discount. That was a lie! Now we are stuck with a dishonest unreliable company. We are reaching a point where we feel we should report it to the BBB. Also, we are tempted to cancel our credit card and take a hit on our credit and opt for a company that has better service. I won’t recommend Vivint to anyone.

Average. At the initial stage, my system was not working well. They had to come and change/replace the camera. My door camera was not Angeled correctly as it only see 60-75% of my drive way. Offer and price when compared to competitors, it was overly expensive. But I decided to go with it because it’s a new product. Overall, after a year. I will give it an okay rating

I've had vivint home for a few years and i haven't had any major issues. The customer service is pretty good and i like the interface panel. Once or twice I've had an issue with a sensor but the vivint techs are very helpful in resolving. Please don't confuse vivint home with vivint solar though. Vivint solar is awful.

Affordable, but COMPLETE LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE/REPAIR! I have been a Vivant customer since 2016. When your system doesn't work, you have to call them and work with them to try to resolve the issue before they will allow someone to come out for a service call. I understand this philosophy, but they are MILKING IT. I have been on the phone with them for 60 to 90 minutes before they agree to have a repair person come out. They even had me trip the breaker on my panel multiple times and have the whole thing reboot - but they asked me to do it 3 TIMES! It was brutal. My office manager was on the phone with them for over an hour last week because it said one of the office windows was open . . . it wasn't. We replaced the batteries in the sensors. Vivant asked us to do it again, we did and it still didn't work. The rep had her reboot the panel multiple times, it still said the window was open. We were told someone would come out this week to fix it. Nobody came and so she called today and was told it would be FEBRUARY 20th before someone could come out. She spoke to 4 different people and was on the phone for 45 minutes (while trying to help patients) just to get a service order scheduled. They told it would be EITHER Monday, Tuesday, OR Wednesday next week between 12noon and 4pm and that SHE had to call to find out which day etc. What in the world!!! I have never seen such shoddy service. They have almost 5000 complaints to the Better Business Bureau!

We have had their service 3 years and have had nothing but problems. We continue to have problems even today. It started the first week we had the system. We had two cameras that would randomly disconnect from the panel. They sent a technician out 3 times before it was "resolved". They replaced one of the cameras twice and still it occasionally loses connection. Then, after about a year of ownership, the panel started randomly rebooting and disconnecting from the network. The technician came out again and tried connecting it via ethernet. This did nothing. He then installed a new panel. This resolved the issue, but wasn't the end of the problems. To follow up, fast forward another year, we were on vacation 3 hours from our home. I get a notification that the glass break sensor on the first floor of my home has been set off. It was due to a low battery. Two weeks later, I come home from work. My app says the alarm is disarmed. I open the garage door and the alarm starts going off. I close and reopen the app to try and disarm. The app still says the system is disarmed. I then get a call from Vivint Monitoring. It took almost half an hour to get it resolved. Th panel had to be rebooted and I had to uninstall and reinstall the app just to get it to work again. Today, we came home from midnight mass and the kids went in the house first, setting off the alarm. I went in and disarmed the panel behind them. My wife then, from her app, logs it as a false alarm. Then, 5 minutes later, my phone rings. I stood up from the couch and walked 12 ft to my phone. It stops ringing as I pick it up. I get a voice mail from them saying they are dispatching the authorities. I call monitoring back and press 1 to notify of a false alarm. I get put in que on hold until a representative can take my call in the order it was received. After 3 minutes on hold, police dispatch calls my wife to check the situation. She tells them it was a false alarm and I hang up the phone. Please do not use Vivint. Do yourself a favor and get a Simplisafe or Ring. Stay away from Vivint. The only thing they ever did for us was give a $15 discount for the 2 months we rarely had a panel that was online. Our smoke detectors still don't work even after they sent out replacement units.

The first couple of weeks I absolutely loved it. Then our ring door went "offline". had someone come look at it and was told that we need to hire an electrician to fix it because it blew out a transformer It's not their fault. Couple months later are back camera goes offline and we're unable to use that now. Get an electrician out here replace transformer ring the doorbell blew it out again. Customer service supposedly was going to send someone out, we called and nothing was scheduled. They were however able to go ahead and send somebody out the day they said they would. We were going to have the electrician and the worker here together so we could figure it out together. Fingers crossed I will have a better review once we get both technicians out here. And this all gets fixed

They were good when we first bought and they installed the system, but I have some negative remarks to make too. I think that Vivint should tell the representatives to tell you that when you move there is a charge. They did not tell me that. Also they didn't tell me that when you move it and reinstalled it, there is another charge.

Contacted them and they were up front with the quote and everything...very friendly and professional....answered all my questions too...I will post again once install is complete

Vivint is absolutely amazing. The system blows other security out of the water. I have had ADT and it was nothing in comparison to this. I can literally control the whole house from my phone.

So thankful I have your system, tonight I had a stove fire without your system going off I don't want to imagine what would of happen! Luckily it warned me and I was Abel to put out the fire! Thank you!
