I purchased the Ring Doorbell late last year. I really love the doorbell and have had no issues with the device. We had to purchase the ring yearly service to get the most out of the device. I was hoping to only use the device without a paid service. Overall, I am very happy with our purchase and would purchase additional ring devices for our home.

Huge scam. I bought power adapters that meet all of the specs required but because it’s not ring brand they have programmed them to glitch out. I know this because my cameras are showing full battery when I switch them to battery mode, but will not operate on wired mode for more than a few hours at a time before turning off and saying “no power”. This makes no sense, either the battery should be drained or it shouldn’t work at all. They just want you to buy their overpriced brand name junk instead.

I like how reliable their security system is , gives me total control over the house. This company Vivint has provided me with advanced features which i absolutely needed like hd cameras , motion sensors that works execellently and also includes smart locks. They also provided detailed guides on how to operate and manage security system easily.

Canceling service from Vivint is a NIGHTMARE!! It took me over an hour to accomplish it. The first 3 calls no one answered. I then found a different phone number and finally got someone. I was asked a ton of questions then they transferred me to someone who asked the same questions and, believe it or not, I was transferred again!! And (no surprise) I was asked the same questions. I guess me saying “I want to cancel service” is too confusing for them. HORRIBLE SHADY COMPANY!
The Final Word
Ring and Vivint are both good companies, but the overall best appears to be Vivint if you are looking for professional 3rd party monitoring when you're on vacation or away from your home. That said, it's our pleasure to give you accurate, up-to-date, and relevant information and it's up to you to choose the company that best matches your situation and needs.
