I have had Vivint for 2 years now and could not be happier. The salesman and the installer were kind and very helpful. Just yesterday 3 men came to my door stating they were from Vivint and were doing an upgrade. The asked a few questions and I became uneasy about who they claimed to be. I asked them to leave and one of them asked me for my password. I told him if he worked for Vivint he would know that and asked him again to leave this is when I noticed his ID at the bottom of his jacket and the name of the company was North Star. Checking this out North Star is part of ADT or so the computer information claims this. I have them on my camera and I will be glad to do whatever it takes to put them behind bars if they show up again. They not only pounded on my door but also looked into my picture window and started pounding on it. I should have called the police. What a bunch of jerks!

My Parents had Vivint. They only had it for almost 2 years before they died. Vivint could not have been any easier to deal with. They cancelled services right away. I was never on hold for very long and they were very pleasant to deal with, which during my parent's deaths I really needed companies to be easy like they were. I was also impressed with the company as a whole. My dad was a notorious "button" pusher by accident, but they called each time and were so nice. They were also very fast with calling my parents. My mother was notorious for being slow to the alarm when coming home and would forget the code constantly, again Vivint was more than accommodating and always the best with customer service. Now I am considering home monitoring myself. I have a lot of research to do but even with a 5 year contract I think it would be worth it if they still have the same out standing customer service.

Vivint is the best smart home and home security company out there. The reason why there so many bad reviews about Vivint is because they have been unethical or bad salesman who have made people feel like they were tricked into contracts or over promised. Vivint is one of the only systems that will control everything smart home and home security from one app. The quality of service is exceptional, I knew that I would be under contract to pay for my system, contracts keep both parties honest. That's why contracts were invented. If you are looking for the most reliable security company who will give you the most bang for your buck Vivint is the way to go. If you don't want a contract buy vivint through a Best Buy store they have 0 contracts.

We moved into our house 3 years ago. Vivint reps were walking around the neighborhood selling home security systems. Having children and a husband that works most nights, we signed up. Installation happened that day. They were all very nice and not pushy at all. We only got the basic system and they were okay with that. Definitely not pushy at all! About 9 months in,our panel became faulty and wouldn't turn on. Things happen so I just called the service line and had someone out the next week. It was fixed at no charge. We have had some scares and Vivint contacted us within 30 seconds to make sure we are okay. Recently, hubby andI were on vvacation. We set the alarm to AWAY. The motion detector went off twice and Vivint contacted police to go walk around the house since we were out of town. Excellent customer service. I love Vivint so much that I told everyone about it. My parents even signed up. They have the camera and it works pretty well! I will continue to use Vivint no matter where I live.

I've had other security companies in the past including ADT and Frontpoint. Once I installed Vivint in my home I could see a huge difference. The system is easier to use, the sales person and technician were very professional, and the technology is the best I've seen! I am really happy with Vivint. I called into customer service to move a camera and they scheduled a tech right away and didn't charge me. The customer service is the best I have had compared to the other companies I've had in the past. The other bad reviews you see on here are not accurate and people don't realize that buying over the phone without an experienced sales rep could change once the technician sees your home. I highly recommend Vivint to everyone. Way better than any other company I've dealt with! My friends and family also switched to Vivint and love it! There's a reason why they made the 2017 top 50 most innovative companies list in the world. They beat all the other security/Smart Home companies. That's proof in the pudding!

All security system providers have bad reviews, so to me, these reviews are irrelevant.... otherwise you cannot decide. Besides, I did not want a DIY system. So, I decided to go with Vivint. First of all, they do not have a "lengthy" contract unless you decide to have a payment plan for the equipment, in which case your contract will be the length of your plan. If you pay the equipment in full, then you are on a month to month. The monthly payment depends of your plan. I selected the highest and pay $49.99 a month for life. The two techs, Mark and Scott, who were sent to install my system were outstanding. Clean cut, polite, helpful, fast and very knowledgeable. The equipment is professional. I have not experienced their customer support yet so I can't comment on that. So far, my system looks great and works great. I can control, arm and disarm from my cell phone, my ipad or my computer. They were able to reduce my cost by using and activating several sensors from a previous system that had been installed by a previous owner. They really met my expectations. I would recommend Vivint anytime.

I might be a little different review than most on this, but I have a unique experience that I would like to share. My husband died and the account along with the loan for the equipment was in his name alone. Because of this, I needed to track down payments and I wanted to keep the system. Anyway, I made a phone call to pay the monthly payment in October. When I told them of my situation, I got a few calls and email correspondences stating that they were sorry about his passing and they would like to arrange some things in order to keep the system. I just got off the phone with a representative who not only said that the system loan was forgiven and I would not longer need to pay that fee, they also gave me a $10 per month discount to keep the system working. I will let everyone know how great Vivint is for customer service and keeping this customer happy. I have never had an issue with the equipment not working. When I have had false alarms, the main control panel has a live person who is friendly and helpful. Great service and great system.

Techs, 3 of them, bullied their way into our house when my husband opened the door. They said they were with our current provider and needed to update the service. We had not requested them or anyone else as we were satisfied with our current company. It was 6:30pm and we were getting ready to go to the funeral home (my cousin had passed away). I told them to come back another time and asked them to leave. One of them raced toward me and wrote down $800 and a telephone number. He shouted that if we don't do it now while they are in this area, that I need to call that number to get it scheduled and it would cost me $800. He said one way or another it would be done, so my husband let them replace the main panel. The next day after my husband had signed the contract, I was looking over it and realized it was Vivint and not my current one. We were unable to get out of it. However, I must say I have been satisfied with the service and features. They also keep increasing the monthly fee when I start using any of the features that should be included-not happy about that. The fee is almost twice the fee of the previous service.

I bought my Vivint system in 2017 and i purchased all of my equipment upfront, I have never financed equipment through Vivint.. The result of buying the equipment upfront is No contract agreements and cheaper monthly cost ($19.00) and monitored professionally, the equipment has worked great most of the time and about once a year i have to call them to resolve an issue which gets resolved but not a deal breaker for me.. I have the smart hub and the latest Pro Cameras installed plus glass breaks and auto door locks, smoke alarms , and countless other equipment and they work great.. I also have linksys Velop mesh wireless system to support my Vivint wireless needs...I do recommend Vivint to people i know and regarding customer service that too has been satisfactory with no complaints ...

The info listed on this page is not entirely true regarding Vivint's contract term and cancellation policy, the term can range from 42-60 months (I chose the latter). You can also cancel the monitoring at any time but you still have to pay off any equipment you purchase from them, so essentially if you want all the smart home stuff it will cost you more to cancel compared to if you just do a basic security system. Their monitoring fee can also be as low as $29.99 if you just do a security system with no home automation (I know this because I almost chose that package before I opted for the additional cameras and smart home features) I really love the system and have referred many friends who also enjoy it. It's very user friendly and much easier to use than my two previous alarm companies that I've had and costs about the same money each month and I get extra features with my Vivint system. All in all, I'd give it a 10 because it does everything I need it to do, the gentleman that knocked on my door to sell it to me was more than respectful, it's actually very affordable, and the customer service is hands down better than anything I've ever dealt with at ADT and Brinks.

Vivint's the best damn security out there before things like control 4. The reason why I feel there are negative reviews is because you got sold something before you were emotionally bought in. Like, a guy came to your house and walked you through getting it, you didn't say no or read through everything and now you changed your mind and want to put the blame on someone else instead of taking responsibility for your own actions because that's what we do in this world. We have lost the concept of responsibility. The vivint rep didn't foridge your signature or fake a survey. He didn't steal your credit card information or sneak around your house until he found your SSN. You gave him all of those things willingly. And in any sale it is up to the customer to read the agreement not the salesman to explain every last detail your not even asking questions about. What I did was have him come in and not give any objections or pressure that I didn't want it. And I told him I wouldn't at the door. I also told him after I read everything later that night, I would make a decision tomorrow. He agreed and came in and showed me everything. It was pretty high quality stuff and exactly what I needed. I live in a great neighborhood but I have already in one years time caught multiple people on my property with the cameras, and saved a bunch of money with their Google Nest thermostat. Now if your not dead in the head like this website that doesn't update info. You will know their is no 5 year contract and just a 5 year 0% interest financing on equipment. All in all awesome company. What's crazy is websites like yelp and consumer reviews and YouTube channels that have reviewed Vivints products have way less complaints. And a way higher rating. Does everyone upset go here to complain? They go to best home security companies after they got the system to complain, really? Sounds to me like this website is not playing fair.

I always read reviews as it is key to making decisions in our day and age. Our experience with Vivant was a great one. The key to any purchase / contract is to ask questions. Our sales rep Lance was great, professional, patient and answered our millions questions. Our installer Michael was wonderful, he did a great install (our wiring gave him a little headache) and he remained patient and professional the entire time. He cleaned up after install and made sure all was working properly before he left. The alarm itself I fantastic!! You can view, arm, disarm and view you property all from your mobile device. Gives you great piece of mind. I call customer service to ask a question and was testing with great service as well. We accidentally set off our alarm and they immediately called to ensure all is well. Also, I have read reviews. Complaining about the notifications. Check your sensitivity level and review your notifications? They can be changed to accommodate what you want to be notified about. We would recommend Vivant to those looking for an alarm system!

Honestly, if you aren't reading the contract that is your issue to deal with. I love Vivint! MY house is so comforting to leave now, because I trust them to keep my family and I safe! If you're an adult you should be reading through EVERY contract someone is having you sign. Just because one sales rep/rep/tech is misleading it doesn't mean everyone is! There are many people in the world in general. Are all of them bad? No, a lot are good! Vivint does their part, now do yours and read the contract, be willing to fix your system if something does happen! If you just expact them to come out for every little thing, or to change one battery, you're the issue! Can you change a battery in a remote? Yes? Then, you can change a battery in a sensor. You have to pay for a new camera that was broken/stolen/lost? That makes sense! If your car gets stolen, or crashed into you don't call your Auto Loan company and ask them for a free new car! You have to pay for a new one.

Having service at one time with Apex, ADT prior to the installation recently Vivint Sky, this system is bar none the best. Since I paid for the equipment with ADT when my house was built in 2009, they use all the contacts on the doors, both wireless and hard wired, motion sensors, and glass sensors. The allowances were used to upgrade with three cameras, remote locks, water detector in the basement, remote light, additional door contacts, and window sensors on the basement windows. The installation was over 5 hours with no service charge, and it was completed as scheduled. The overall experience was totally professional. Oh yeah, I forgot that a friend that referred me received $50 and so did I.

I have had the original alarm system for 6 years. One day, Vivint called me up and told me I had a lot of upgrades if I renewed my contract. I was very pleased with the company and the offer so I renewed. They gave me a new Go-pad another motion detector for the hallway, two more sensors for doors, and our smoke detector. They threw in the smoke detector monitoring for no extra cost.(Which by the way, the insurance company gave us a break on our home owner insurance for having monitored smoke alarms.) All of that was free. So one other benefit if you could call it that, I lost my job just before we came out of contract. I wanted to pause my monitoring service till I found another job. Because we were under contract they would not do that. However, they did reduce my monthly monitoring fee by almost half for 3 months. I'm sure they would have done it for another 3 months, but I did not need it. Finally, I like this company. I like the equipment. I like the service. I like the flexibility. I really like controlling my alarm system from my smart phone. I give them a 9 cause nothing is perfect.

I love this company and the advanced technology they use in their systems. If any equipment breaks it is automatically replaced with the newest model. All the whinning about the contact is nonsense. There is no long term contract when you buy the equipment up front. You don't have to finance the system through Vivent, you can use another credit card. If you chooses to finance through Vivent then you are signing up for a 5 year contract. No hard salesmpitch, just the facts. If you can't afford the system up front, don't buy it. If you choose to finance through Vivent then you agree to the 5 year contract. I love this progressive technology company and have no issues to date.

A sales representative came to my home and presented what they had to offer. I looked this company up online to find that the reviews rated them below satisfactory. The sales representative offered me a trial period with the system and I reluctantly gave it a chance and was very pleasantly surprised to find that the reviews I read were not accurate. My sales rep was very polite and explained everything in detail amswering all of my questions. I still have the direct line to my representative who I call with any issue or question and she takes care of just about anything I need. When debating on this system I would suggest using your best judgment when it comes to the representative you are working with. It really makes the difference. Given that I had ADT previously (which is rated much higher) and had a much worse experience and countless issues I see that reviews are not always the way to see if something is right for you. Not to mention the cool features that Vivint exclusively has to offer. Safe to say I will be keeping my system and referring it to my friends and neighbors, I'm happy the representative encouraged me to try it for myself.

We were already using ADT, in fact we were with ADT for a few years. The deal that Vivint offers was a little bit more costly per month but there was whole lot more features, so we thought it was worth that little bit extra cost. The few times I had to deal with customer service they been really kind and helpful. There's only been a couple times where we have had issues and most of them was just us not knowing how to do something. We had a few wi-fi issues early on but that had to do with our internet service it wasn't Vivint's issue. A couple times we have had false alarms and they been handled very smoothly, we have been pleased. Our sales representative was very good. He was willing to come back and to fit our schedule. He explained the features and everything to us. It was a good experience. Our experience with the installation team was very good as well. The gentleman that came to install it were polite and worked fast. They also tried to accommodate our request as far the location of the equipment. They did a good job, very professional. I would recommend Vivint to anybody as I already have a couple of time with friends when that subject came up. I like the fact that they are Christian owned and support Christian values.

I have been a Vivint customer for nine years.Company offers a two way live communications that fill the room with the voice of a live agent asking you if everything is OK and your passphrase. They can hear my response from 40 feet away. If a break in occurs they will warn the intruder that the police are on the way and to LEAVE NOW. This feature sets them apart from the others. Security is a must these days so a 3 year contract isn't a problem. Each renewal period come with free add on equipment or some other worth while inducement. Other that changing the battery in the sensor units which is easy to do I never needed to call for service. In the end you get what you pay for. Vivant . Is a first rate company, a bit more expensive but the reliability is worth the difference.

Everything has been excellent with one exception. A little while ago the power went out for 24 hours and my alarm system keep beeping at me and it was getting to be later and I couldn't sleep so I had to go to a hotel because I called them twice and they try to stop it. But it wouldn't and every three minutes it would beep and then this one time it did that the technician was able to tell me how to disconnect the alarm on those doors so that wouldn't happen. I said cool that was nice to be able to do and I wish last time someone had told me that but I maybe that something that was not available at three months ago, it would of saved me a hotel room for one night.

The salesperson was really good. He was very well informed about the service and he explained it and let me think about it for three hours. So he also called me back to make sure the installation went well. He was very well, I mean I was glad for the way he addressed everything. The technician was also very polite. He came in and he started his job right away. He was very polite and I was pleased to have him inside the house. I don't easily let people go inside my house but he was one of those persons that you feel comfortable walking around your house. There was actually two moments I had to call Vivint for technical support and I really liked working with them. We solved the problem really fast.

I got Vivint last year it is by far the best system I've found. The thermostat is great, I love the car guard too. I got backed into in the parking lot. I got the notification and I came out while the A hole was getting back into his car, got his info and his insurance covered the bumper. I got sent this website from my friend and I really don't think the review is very accurate. My bill is 58 a month and I'm super happy with the customer service. There is no annoying automated system when you call in and an English speaking rep picks up when the dialing ends. I think the reviews are from the same company or person. Most say San Jose... Check real reviews from the App Store or the Google Play store. I bet a ton of companies post these fake reviews because they aren't as good as Vivint.

I absolutely love my Vivint system! The customer service has been amazing for me. Anytime I have called they have been very helpful and I have had no issues. I moved shortly after I got the service and they came to my new house and got me all set up again. Love my doorbell camera and all of my automation features. I save about $40 a month in my energy costs thanks to my smart thermostat. This website has some interesting information on it that when I researched further I found conflicting info. I recommend Vivint to everyone I talk to. The response time for the monitoring is amazing. I originally wanted to go with Protect America, but they don't even have a professional install the system. I feel bad for people that have had issues with this company, because my experience has been nothing but amazing!

I got the vivint system 8 months ago, and an unexpected situation happened. I called them to cancel but I was suprised that I was in a 60 month contract and in order for me to cancel I have to pay them the full amount of the contract 3,852.72 dlls. I was so suprised that I told the customer service rep that I was unaware of that. The sales guy just told me that they would install everything for free and that I would have to be with them at least for 3 months or else I would have to pay for the installation and the equipment. Another thing the sales rep had me sign some papers and he told me it was for me authorizing them to install their equipment in my home, but he didn't leave me a copy of it. Now the customers serv rep tells me to look at my contract and I told her that they didn't leave me a copy and she said she would email me one and I'm still waiting for it. The bad thing is that they won't cancel until they get their full amount paid and they'll continue withdrawing money from my account. Not even the cable companies or light companies make those lengthy contracts not even the cell phone companies do that! Don't know what to do I don't even have the money for the next month bill. I'm going to have to close the account or else I'm going to be overdrawn. That's another thing they ask for your bank checking account information so that way they'll have access to your money. The system doesn't work anymore I try to lock the door with the panel and it doesn't do it. And to top it all I'm no longer living in that house so I'm getting charged for something I'm not even using! ?

While I am mostly happy with Vivint, there have been a couple of small issues I wanted to report. 'I wasn't happy that when we were having problems with the keypads. Vivint was saying that they were going to charge us for the installation guy to come back out. Additionally I wasn't happy that I found out that I would have to go to my police department to get my system registered. I wish I would have known that in the beginning and then I would have been able to get that done sooner. I would have expected the company would have handled that. It was a hassle to get done. The battery that I had when they first installed the whole system lasted for about a week. Then they started to give off a dead signal saying that the batteries were dying. So I had to buy some new batteries and replace them myself. So I wouldn't be charged for some to come back out and do it. Even though they did set it up in the system that they reimbursed us, it was just a hassle going out to do that. I really hate doing other people's work. When I pay for something I really want it to be done right the first time. Despite all of that, I have been really pleased with Vivint and their alarm system.

This company is amazing! People are talking about how they are pushy and customer service is bad but this is by far the best alarm company we have ever been with. Our salesman knocked on our door 3 months ago and was patient and flexible with us because we took almost a month to sign up. We had a whole smarthome set up that cost us half of what other companies charge. It also saved us $25 our first month just in utilities. Unfortunately we had to cancel because my husband got deployed but it only took me one 15 minute phone call and a copy of his orders to cancel, they took care of the rest. They have been honest and understanding with us every step of the way. My advice is try it out and if you don't like it cancel within the cancellation period and get all your money back. We will be doing business with this company again in the future.

People any company has contract lengths if you get part of the equipment for FREE seriously. Any bad review here was probably because who ever has had any encounter with Vivint personnel it was either A) a new customer service agent in training B) someone from fluent alarm acting like a d*** to give Vivint a bad rap or C) a rookie sales rep. If you do proper educated research you'll find that companies beg Vivint to partner with them (nest) and that their sales force is actually world recognized for the money and effort that goes into training them. Vivint kicks butt for ever has it and offers services and protection far beyond the ability of any competition. People are too na've to think Vivint is anything but great.

I like their service and the way they presented it. It just seemed like it was good product. They didn't try to force you to do anything. They just told you what the service was and what they offer. I liked what they said because it wasn't pushy, you know? Sometimes salesman will come and they will try to push you into taking what they have and they didn't. They just sold it like it was and explained it to me. I understood and right away I decided to take it. I think I called their customer service once or twice and asked a question. I don't remember what the question was now, but I know that whoever answered, they answered my question well. There was no problem. I'm older now, I'm seventy-nine and sometimes I notice that people are not nice when talking to older people. But the person I spoke to wasn't like that. Everyone that I speak to is very pleasant. I have had no problems or had any reason to want to change to any other security system but Vivint.

I did a lot of research on home security systems before choosing Vivint. I read the reviews of Vivint regarding their pushy sales people and install folks upsetting you. I went ahead with Vivint because their system was exactly what I was looking for. My actual experience was fantastic! The salesperson was super knowledgeable setting expectations along the way and was able to get the installation person out within a few days. The installation tech was knowledgeable and explained everything with great detail. I couldn't be happier with my Vivint system! The only drawback is the quality of the video, they say it is HD but I must tell you that my Ring doorbell that I had to replace had 10x's the resolution. I pray that I never have to rely on the video to identify a person because I'm not sure I could.

I've had vivint over 10 years now. I have 2 indoor cameras, which are AMAZING quality. My husband is military and he loves that we can use them for him to pop in and watch us play in the rooms the cameras are in! Seriously amazing cameras and video quality is unbeatable. We have 16 window sensors, 1 window sensor on our garage overhead door and 3 on our shop overhead doors. We also have 5 glassbreaks, the thermostat so we dont have to manually adjust it, either do it from your phone or have Amazon Alexa do it. It also has a great schedule feature for when we travel. We have the wireless control box, no phone line required. We have 5 door sensors too. If the batteries ever get low, they are easy to change and the system is easy to figure out. If you forget to put it in test mode Vivint (based in Utah) will call to make sure everything is ok. They are amazing at calling quickly for alarms, false or not. When we first had someone sale it to us, they were pushy, but you have to remember they are commission based so i was understanding. The price of our equipment is negotiable.... so haggle!! ;) The contracts are long, and the pricing is a little high. I did learn that if you call and tell them the pricing is too high, they dropped it 20 dollars a month for 3 years and 10 dollars a month for 2 years. Which we took immediately. Our price with cameras was $54 a month. Now we pay $32. Their customer service is AMAZING. Always have been quick to fix issues if we have any and EVERYONE speaks clear English. We have moved 3 times with them and they have always replaced our equipment with some negotiation but free. I really cant say enough good things about them. We had ADT before, and they would never work with me on cost and their customer service sucked. I switched to Vivint because I tried to get ADT to go wireless and they wanted to charge me over $1000. They were like sorry if you csnt afford it even after speaking with management. I've NEVER been treated that way with Vivint. I seriously recommend them to anyone and everyone!!!

Others' apps have lower ratings, guess why? Coz they are screwed. Connection via 110 volt is better compared to Wi-Fi, because WiFi is unstable, and it adds another potential for malfunction. Wires will never fail. WiFi fails a lot more often. Especially when you transmit (large & heavy) video signal. I am extremely satisfied with the top quality system Vivint offers. Yes, do not expect cheap stuff from Vivint. Quality costs, right? You get what you pay for, right? I have 3 cams of 4K, doorbell (1080p), 2 motion detectors, 4 window disconnect sensors. My bill is $60 service + $40 equipment. The $40 goes off after 3 years, equipment is mine. Other companies won't take that equipment, but I'm not switching. Some negative reviews here are inaccurate representation of Vivint Customer Service. Customer service, in my experience, was professional: polite and knowledgeable; and it was from Utah (not India like in other cheap services). #iRecommend Vivint.

I dont understand why everyone says vivint is a scam. It's a great company with great tech that keep you connected to the emergency services and allows you to have a true smart home experience. There are so many arguments I hate reading on these revives. I've read about people getting mad about having to pay to upgrade to a new panel but last time I checked, you still have to pay the full price for a new phone when you're upgrading that as well. People talk about horror stories about sales reps, but in reality every person is different. Just because you have 1 bad server when you're eating at a chain like outback or red lobster, it doesnt mean you're going to stop trusting that company. And the one that really gets me is the whole cancellation trial. The part that these reviews arent telling you is that they get written an "NOC" notice of cancellation and get asked on a digital survey if it was explained to them. I've been a happy customer for 6 years now and have actually been able to successfully stop my Christmas lights from getting stolen because of my door bell camera. If you're reading this, just know that the product is great and these reviews dont do the company any justice. What you're reading are the reviews of the 1% of unsatisfied people, but if the company is such a scam as people are saying it is, why is it so successful and why do they literally own a whole NBA arena in Utah? It really sucks that us satisfied customers arent out here trying to defend the company as much as we should. That's my peace on this.

I don’t know if we were just lucky to get a great sales rep and a great technician, or if the other reviewers were just incredibly unlucky to get horrible sales reps/technicians, but our experience with Vivint has been great so far. I’m not a fan of sales people knocking on my door, but I had seen the same guy on my street a couple of times as I was coming home from work. The fact that he didn’t pounce on me the minute I pulled into my driveway is actually what made me answer the door when he knocked on Saturday afternoon. He was polite (asked me if I wanted him to take off his shoes when he came inside), professional, knowledgeable, and very transparent about all of the costs. He even handled it very well when my wife told him about all of the horrible posts she had read on Next Door about the other Vivint sales reps in the area. Once we selected our equipment and he went over the current and future charges in detail, he arranged for an installer to come within the next 20 minutes. The installer was just as polite, professional, and knowledgeable as the sales rep, and he did a great job of cleaning up after himself. Bottom line: we are as happy with our sales/install experience as we are with the equipment/app/service. I honestly feel bad for the reviewers who got stuck with bad sales reps and techs, as our experience led us to believe that the team we got was the standard for Vivint.

We love our system works great having peace of mind at all times. I believe people forget that it’s a high end smart home system that will cone to use in case of an emergency. All the cameras are like a sunday with a cherry on top. When we had a break in the police arrived in minutes, it was the middle of the night and my four children were sound asleep. Definitely worth paying for if it’s going to save your entire family from a home invasion. It’s like car insurance you never appreciate it till you actually total your car and and it’s covered in your insurance and It’s less expensive then a cell phone bill !!! The truth is for 2019 it’s an amazing home smart system.

I’m puzzled by the negative reviews. The person who installed our system was very professional, and talked ou OUT of buying a WiFi doorlock as, in his opinion, these devices are still very easy to hack. We recently had a battery alert that it was not getting a charge. Moments after we discovered it, Vivint called to troubleshoot it. It was a simple reboot, but they wanted to make sure the massive battery in the console didn’t have problems. All the equipment they did install was the latest (I checked) and since installation the system has worked like a charm. We decided to buy the equipment, and I would change that in hindsight and let them own the equipment and pay only the monthly fee. The 180 degree doorbell is a marvel and has worked without any issues. So I would say take a close look, and pick a company with a good business model, great equipment, monitoring and service, and ideally with some time in the business. Our second choice would have been ADT, for what that’s worth.

I have had Vivint for a little over 8 months and I LOVE it!! I purchased my system at BestBuy and got the monitoring panel, the doorbell camera, the keyless entry, and the automatic garage door opener. Our home was already wired for security and when we had the front and back door replaced they cut the lines so they stopped working. My Vivint installer hooked it back up with no trouble at all. I set off my security alarm a few times by accident and they came over my panel immediately to see if everything was alright. I have recently sold my home and was able to see every potential buyer and hear their comments as they entered into my home. Even had the ability to open the door for them and lock it after they left all from the convenience of my phone app. My daughter has ADT and it's a piece of junk. It has never worked right from day one and she has had to make several calls to no avail. I'm actually going to have the Vivint system installed in her home I love it that much!

I just recently purchased security system with Vivint..one thing over the years I have learned was to ask questions.. I dont care what other security system agencies say. You always have to pay for your equipment if you dont already have one!! My router is a 4g in order to get good results I needed a 5G and vivint provided that free of charge. I have a door bell camera, 2 out side camera's smart lock and sensor on all 3 doors and a sensor in the living room. My service is only 36 $ a month and my equipment that I wanted hassle free is only 30$ a month . I can pay the equipment off at anytime, and I will be left with my service fee only. Yes they do transfer your service for free only after you have been with them for 1 year and you can canx as well, by a written statement that was provided. I also received two free google mini. And an updated version of the new monitoring system (which looks like a tablet) has 911, fire, and smoke detectors on it, as well as a DVR for my continues recording and monitoring. I love it. It's very easy to use as well as the app. Thank you VIVINT FOR YOUR TIME. Everything was installed the same day!!

After numerous hours/days of research on the internet comparing about ten security companies, making phone calls and getting quotes, we decided to have Vivint come for a presentation. The tech came out a few weeks ago and explained the system. We liked him and the idea of being able to access our house through our phones for doors, heating, doorbells etc while away from home. This week, he came back to install and did a wonderful job. For this "techie," this was the way to go and who better to install it then another "techie." We want the best technology out there that exists. Vivint has said proposed that when the equipment we have installed becomes outdated, they will come in to replace it at their cost. The features this system has look like it will fit our needs. Will post more after we get further in to our 30 day trail.

Installed Vivint over 2 years ago when I read a CNET review. Since then, I’ve been nothing but pleased. Reading the other reviews around the service I guess I got one of the good ones. Our installation rep was also training a new guy at the time so we had two installers at the same time and I listened in for a fair bit of the instruction. Haveing had the system for so long I could cancel at any time now but why? Given my tenure all I’ve had to do is replace batteries...which is easy with the web video instruction. At this point I’m also thinking of adding some outdoor cameras in addition to the doorbell and 2-3 more outdoor deadbolt for the other points of entry into my home. ...and the Alexa integration is awesome around garage door and/or outside doors when your hands are full bringing in groceries.

We have been vivant customers for 10+ years and have been completely satisfied with our service and customer service as well. I have called customer service when I get service reminders on my panel and they have ALWAYS been very knowledgeable about my system and what I need to do to check our system. Any time our alarm goes off (by accident) they always call and begin talking to us through our panel (as expected). That being said.....I take pride in showing respect to the person I am speaking with on the other end and to date I have always been given respect in return. I feel that most of the people who write reviews are usually the ones who ARE UPSET. We did sign a 5 year contract, as a responsible adults made sure we read the papers before signing so was fully aware we were singing 5 years. After the contract expired we are now simply on a month to month basis and have never been harassed to sign another one. We have updated our system and added to it over the years and have complete satisfaction and confidence in our alarm system. Our phone (app) features have always worked great as well as our remote controls. I, personally, love that housekeepers and pet handlers can have separate codes to enter the home and I can see exactly who has been coming and going. Vivint is the alarm company of choice for this household and will continue to be.

I have had Vivint when it was Apex and have been very pleased with the system. It is a basic system with just door and window sensors. It was installed the same day I got the system. I can't remember what problem I had with the system, but they responded quite fast and replaced the control panel. The representatives have been very responsive to any questions I have had from time to time. I feel the system has given me a great peace of mind. I have had 2 attempted break-ins but not to the point of activating the sensors. I question all the negative responses. I have nothing but positive experiences with Vivint. Vivint even lowered my monthly cost ($39.99) by $5 due to a competitor was pushing a cheaper monthly rate. I am keeping Vivint.

Great system, tech's were on point . My house is covered from top to bottom, 4 doors including the door from the garage, all upstairs windows, glass breakage down stairs because I have Picture windows, camera, digital thermostat, motion, and smoke detectors were added at no charge because I purchased on first sales call. Customer service is great. I have only had one problem...it was a wire from the thermostat that caused a problem with my furnace. They came out and replaced it with a brand new digital thermostat the next day so my HVAC tech could finish his repair. They asked if we had the key FOB's and when we said no, they gave us 2 FOB's free of charge. The 60 month contract seemed unusual, and the monitoring fee is a bit pricey but for the state of the art wireless digital equipment they installed...3 years in we feel like we have received a great deal of value for the fee we having been paying to protect our home.

I had Vivant for almost 20 years. My equipment with Vivant was outdated and instead of them replacing their equipment, I was told that I had to purchase each item separately! Well I'm a senior citizen and I could not afford it, so I cancelled my service and selected ADT as my security company

Haven't had any major issues but the monthly premiums are pretty pricey . Overall the system is good and works well. I would like to upgrade but starting with new equipment and higher monthly payments are not appealing to me right now. I would recommend Vivint.

Several reasons: Poor customer service. Motion detector was not installed, key fog was included but not replaced and there is an account I was given from some company named Fortiva. The amount borrowed was 600.00 and payment is 15.00 monthly, but they don't tell you a 10.00 service charge is every month!! Therefore I'm only paying 5.00 toward the balance. What a rip off!!!

Reliable and easy to use/manage. The cost is reasonable. The app allows us to set and check the system wherever we are, and check the door anytime the doorbell rings.
