HANAS, PETER J.

Very slow action to contact creditors with intent to settle.

Reply from Freedom Debt Relief

We apologize if the proper expectations were not set for you, Mr. Hanas. It does take time to settle the enrolled accounts. The reason being is we have to allow the monthly deposits to accumulate in your dedicated account to a negotiable amount. If we contact the creditor too soon, we may lose our opportunities to settle the account at a percentage or for less than the actual balance. Our negotiations specialists resolve nearly 44,000 creditor accounts each month. Also, our clients usually see their first settlement within the first 4 to 6 months of being enrolled in our program. Truth be told, you are ahead of schedule when it comes to your graduation path. Congratulations on the progress you've already made! Please contact us in client services at (800)655-6303 or via email at with any questions or concerns regarding your account. We're very sorry to hear this, Mr. Cox. One of our top priorities is to keep our clients up to date regarding their accounts and progression in our program. If you ever have questions regarding anything that you see on your client dashboard, always feel free to contact us in client services at (800)655-6303 or via email at .

We also apologize if the proper expectations regarding the time in our program were not set for you. Our average client usually sees their first settlement with us within the first 4 to 6 months of being enrolled with us. This is because it takes time for the scheduled monthly deposits to accumulate in your dedicated account. Once the funds have accumulated to a sufficient amount, the negotiations process can begin. Truthfully, you are ahead of schedule when it comes to your graduation path. Congratulations!

We ask that you allow us to support you on this journey. Please, contact us in client services anytime you have questions or concerns regarding your account. Thank you for being the best part of Freedom Debt Relief. Here's to a debt-free future!

Was not told nor was expecting the fees i get from you setting an account.

Reply from Freedom Debt Relief

Hello Carrie,

Thank you for posting your review. Freedom Debt Relief is not a nonprofit organization so we do take a fee, but not until a debt is resolved. The amount of the fee will vary depending on a client’s state of residence, total debt amount, etc. Typically, it ranges from 15% - 25% of total enrolled debt over the course of the program. For example, fees of 21% of enrolled debt in a 42 month program would work to about 6% per year annualized. This offers significant savings over other solutions, especially for those who would otherwise be making payments as agreed to their creditors at the interest rates they have when entering our program.

Our fees are covered during the initial enrollment phone call, in the language of the Agreement clients sign, and in a welcome call after the client comes aboard. Our firm doesn’t gloss over this. It should be weighed as a possible cost one will incur.

Please reach out to our Client Services department at 1 (800) 655-6303 or you can log into your Client Dashboard at if you have any questions or comments regarding your account. Thank you for choosing Freedom Debt Relief!
