This is the biggest bait and switch out there. I deposited $10,025 to Americor, they made $6,100 in payments, and took $3,400 in their fees and another $444 in fees to their bank. To clarify, I paid 61% in fees. This is directly from my Reliant (their holding bank) statement. In addition, Americor continuously calls you to add more to your ‘settlement” account, which I did. They waited for one of my creditors to sue me, then shrugged and told me to just pay it myself (I’m still paying that monthly by myself). They also lie about the length of the program. I was told per my deposit schedule it would be 18 months to complete the program. After 24 months, a lawsuit, and another creditor never being contacted, I cancelled. They sent the remainder of my account to a creditor under a different name than any I enrolled in the program. Find another company that doesn’t gouge you for a 61% fee.

I thought I might get a loan up to $23,000 according to the Credit9 mail I received to consolidate an existing loan. After I applied online, my phone soon rang. I started not to answer it because I really don’t like to talk to people trained to talk fast and persuasive. But I answered it. Debt consultant Jeffrey G was on the other end. I told him upfront that I was no longer interested. But he couldn’t take no for an answer. And he couldn’t have been more nicer, patient and knowledgeable of my initial request for a loan now quickly turning to a debt settlement conversation and that he was from Americor and not Credit9. Long story short I signed the contract for the program. That same evening-a Sunday-I decided to cancel my contract. I sent Jeffrey and Americor an email to do this and tell them my reason why; I didn’t want my excellent credit that I worked so hard to attain to suffer and that I could soon make it out of debt myself. Jeffrey left me an email and voicemail to give him a call the next day. Although I really didn’t believe I had to and I was busy with chores and errands after a night of working, I called him back. Still not being able to take no for an answer, he began to go on about the benefits of the program. I told him I was “busy” and said “no” as he went on . “So I can’t say anything to you?” Jeffrey G asked even after I said “I don’t want to be rude.” After he said “you’ve wasted my time “ and in the middle of him beginning to cancel my contract-I guess, I hung up on him. Obviously Jeffrey can only be kind and patient when you say yes to him. It says in their own agreement you can cancel at anytime and there are no guarantees. In addition to this, there are also looming tax implications. Personally, I broke my own rule by not checking reviews and other con’s first. And oh yeah: Get rid of Jeffrey G!! If not, retrain him! He’s like a fake best friend: He’s alright with you as long as you don’t say no to him.

I am getting leary of the time involved to start negotiations. I have received correspondence from the creditors that have indicated that they are willing to negotiate, and I find that Americor hasn’t even attempted to start negotiations. I have been informed by Americor that they will start attempting negotiating with Care Credit and American Express sometime within the next two months. I signed up in November. Why the hold up?!

I disliked that every time called into Americor cause of anxiety u never received straight answer. li got t one settlement and my part 6$$.00. I wasn’t told that my fee was going be over 700.00. When I found it wasn’t titled nothing. I called in the person knew nothing I was asking. she didn’t know. Then days later it was titled. Also the FB site says your u can talk about your experience with other members. I got knocked out of there for almost 4 days. Called the Americor was told I wasn’t blocked out. so I sent pictures. So I Question the honestly there. I canceled and took my money and debts back settled them myself. the worst thing they tell you they would be noticing your debts. well they don’t I got summoned to court the lawyer for company and judge neither had been notified. The lawyer told me call Americor to have them call him. I did and they said that she wasn’t calling.

I don't like that the company hooks you by saying they will consolidate your loans into one payment. They show how much they consolidate then take months to finally work with one debt collector. My credit went from a 730 to a 530 in 6 months and continues to drop. We are in the middle of April and still only one out of four debts Americor is currently working with. The non stop ringing of the phone and the constant alerts seeing my credit fall has been the worst experience I have ever endured. I was better off just paying them myself. This was a first and last time I will every go through Americor.

At first, I started off like in the a lot, but I feel like once I was with you guys nothing has been the same every time I try to get in contact with with Gabriel or someone about my case I would get runaround and then I was told I would get a loan at six months of good payments and then after about two months, I went to call and make sure and they said it was 6 to 12 months now. Have had conflicting directive advice from some advisors. Their approach is reactive rather than proactive, and their Portal has severe limitations on formats that can be added to the document vault. Also, clients cannot view many documents or emails that staff have supposedly received.

When I started working with Americor, they were very responsive and helped me upload or otherwise provide information to identify my debts and to identify how I was going to make my monthly payment to them for their services. Once they started, I rarely heard anything from them. I do not think that they are good at making "good will" calls, just checking to see how things were going or if I needed any assistance. It was only a short term solution that had caused me years of frustration. I should’ve just pay them off with a little bit of interest because they’ve drag this out and it’s ended up costing me more than it would have with my zero interest for the short interim. I followed all the protocols and nothing was as clean as they made it sound. I still have multiple accounts inaccessible because they’re listed as my POA long after my debts are resolved and all criteria completed. I’ve called and they’ve not taken action and these accounts that weren’t part of the debt restructuring are going to be closed eventually for going dormant. This will ultimately decrease my credit score since they are long time accounts that will be closed due to administrative negligence. If I had the choice, I would never have gone through this process, but I had a job to pay the bills. It just helped me to not pay interest. I ended up paying them when IIf I had the choice, I would never have gone through this process, but I had a job to pay the bills. It just helped me too not pay interest. Doesn’t work with you when you’re low on funds. I tried to work with Americor when I lost my job and was behind on my mortgage. When I asked them about lowering my payment they said no this is the amount we have to have every two weeks. So for three months my credit was ruined and I have had better luck just working directly with the creditor my self.

Have paid almost $1000 dollars in and have yet to receive a call from anyone about my case. Anytime I need something I have to call. I’ve received zero feedback on progress and most of the time when I call I get very vague answers from customer service. Have received letters from a couple of creditors wanting to settle for a lesser amount. Have uploaded those documents to the portal and have gotten zero feedback on those as well. I understand it takes time but I think a monthly or bi-monthly check in from the Americor team would give customers a peace of mind when it comes to the program.
