It is hard to review a company that seems very slow to help with my debt. It has been three months since I signed up and paid the agreed-upon amount each month. Americor was supposed to have settled with one of my credit card banks, but I continue to get demand notices from them. My credit has almost hit rock bottom, continue to get reminders that I am late with my payments. No indication that Americor has contacted them to settle.

I felt the sales person , Christian, that took all my info, cared only only about closing the deal. There was one company included in negotiations that should not of been (Lowe’s) and one not included in negotiations that should of been (PayPal). Christian never returned my calls until I texted . For me , it has been a scary and humbling experience. I have not made final judgement yet.

The company reps were friendly, however, they are not totally honest with all options open to someone in heavy debt, barely employed, and elderly. I only found out from a totally disrelated company (after signing up that Americor) that Chapter 7 bankruptcy was actually the best option for by Americor as I was in the 3 day window where cancellations were allowed. Then I found out from another company that since I don't have any assets that aren't protected by bankruptcy law, that I probably don't even need to file bankruptcy as probably no company will sue me. So Americor did me a favor by telling me to stop paying on my debts, but I didn't need to pay Americor to negotiate debt for me, or even to file bankruptcy.

For the most part I like the program. I am not sure how the accounts get chosen. My brain would do a different series to the payments and pay off the small first so interest doesn't build up to be more than the initial amount. The app could use some work.

Been on the program for six months and so far only settlement. Employees are very professional and courtesy is of the utmost. What I don’t like is once you enroll in the program. Basically you are on your own to fan off the Lender's. Sure the Employees will guide on how to respond to the Lender's. But the calls do keep on coming.

For now my rating is going to be low because none of my agreed upon debts have been paid at all. I've been making monthly payments for a few months now but I'm still getting harassing calls and letters in the mail demanding I make payments. I inquired about this over a month ago and was told to send in all written copies from creditors and debt collectors. Americor responded with something about how they've already made agreements with these companies but nothing else has happened. Still paying in, still getting calls and bills and I was recently notified that my credit score has dropped over 200 points. Starting to wonder if this is a scam.

They will promise great things, and then spend the rest of your time with them saying no. If you live paycheck to paycheck don't be surprised if they message you asking for an additional 5k deposit next month. Lol. If i had 5k extra I wouldn't need their help. They promised a quick turnaround, its been 4 years and still counting for $30k in 5 accounts. They promised to try to get balances down to 50%, but it's been an average for me of 80%, meaning I paid more than I originally owed after their cut. And ps: some creditors never do 50%, so they won't bother trying for lower if it's within their typical range. They don't tell you what the percentages are, they won't bother starting negotiations until you have 80% of the money, and they require you to use their bank which charges big fees monthly and per payment. But allegedly they're not making any money off that. 🙄🙄 They handled the negotiations, but when I got sued they did nothing except send over a negotiation letter that the judge said wasn't adequate and dismissed in 10 seconds. Not that I had any assets to seize. Oh, and if you tell them to stop taking money out of your account they won't. When they get you a charge for an overdraft fee they won't fix it either. They'll offer to give you back your own money that you've already paid a fee to the./the bank to withdraw. And, if you call to change a payment better call 3 business days in advance because "it's already processing" is their favorite gabds-tiesld excuse.

I cannot say whether i would recommend them at this point in time. I have gotten a garnishment on one of the bills enrolled with them but they have not contacted me or connected in anyway after i contacted them and i havent seen a reduction in my payment. The way i see it, they should either get garnishment taken away or wipe this debt off the amount that i owe to americor. Right now it looks like i will be paying this debt twice

Basically I don’t know if it is Americor or the person I originally dealt with but the information I was given at the start of the program was completely wrong. I was told I would receive letters to send to my creditors so I wouldn’t get calls at home, work, and my family bothered. This information was a complete lie. I was also told that I would only need to wait 6 months for the loan and it’s even in my emails yet I checked on this the other day because I’m at the 6 month mark and I was informed yet again my information is completely wrong and I need to wait a year. I really don’t understand how a company can conduct business like this, being transparent and honest is much better then feeding lies to get people to agree to use your company.

It takes a little while to get through it but you get a lot of information that is vital to the process of the program. When you are finished completing the sign-up process the intake people welcome your questions and will explain it over so you understand everything. The people are very nice and very well informed about the program.

However, you didn’t complete my welcome call… you’d call leave me a message, I’d call you back only to be told wait times were long and I could continue waiting or I could leave my phone number. I work to try and pay off my bills. I don’t have time to stay on hold… and when Id leave my number, a rep never called me back like you said they would… so I really hope things are going ok.

My favorite thing about americor is their debt calculator. In less than 10 minutes I can put the amount of money I owe into the calculator and then they calculate what they can do to help me with that exact debt. I like how specific that is and that I get exact numbers of how long it will take me to pay down that credit card debt

Was told in 6 months my credit score would start going up. 9 months and $500 a month later, my credit score has continued to go down. Much lower now than if I had just gone thru bankruptcy. Guess it's time to consider bankruptcy. I absolutely would not recommend this company.
