I have gotten calls from collectors and have told them what you have told us to say and yet they claim NOONE has tried to contact them about negotiation or settlement etc.

I called pursuing a loan that I got postcard in the mail saying I was pre-approved for. Not only did I not get the loan, there was a offer that was never relate to me and they took me straight to debt consolidation which I did not need. Wanted me to stop paying my bills and ruin my credit. So glad I changed my mind

I feel like I was lied to. I was told that when the agreement was made with creditors and paid off, the credit bureau would report as "Paid off" but they actually report that it was at a lower amount. This is not my understanding.
