Hard pull on credit without even informing me my credit would be pulled. This is bad business. The day after I signed up I got the following alert from my credit monitoring svc.... You have 1 recent hard inquiry Hard inquiries from things like credit applications can stay on your report for up to 2 years, but their effects tend to fade over time.

I would give them zero stars if allowed. If you the call back feature that is suppose to keep you place is line is a total lie. There flip phone require to be charged everyday and according to them is normal. I have going back to Version where the phone only needs to charges every couple of weeks, I visited by bother and could not get a signal but my version account never had an issue. Poor phones and coverage.

I have tried a half dozen times to contact you with on results. then you call me and tell I need to talk tp representative and please hold for the next rep and while I am patiently waiting for this to happen you hang up the line if this your idea of service I dont want anything to do with your co. three times they said they would send us cards to see if our phones would work still waiting for that too need I say anymore about your service I dont think so

I have had Consumer Cellular handle my cell phones for over 2 years. I recently tried to switch my home phone over to them. It has been a disaster!! Their service is fine, their customer service is terrible. I know they say it is award winning but if you really have a problem that needs more than just superficial help you will be disappointed. You can never get back to the same person. I had to call over and over and explain my problem over and over. They don't listen well for unique problems and they pass the buck extremely well.

Twice my husband and I have gone to target in Monroeville,pa to get consumer cellular and twice we have gone home empty handed. What is with the techs that are either not trained right or are not showing up for work at the time it says they will be there. Does nobody start work on time anymore? Very bad for business. Guess I will be staying with Verizon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My wife and I purchased 2 phones in Jan. of 2019. My wives phone has not worked for 8 days after numerous calls with tech support and supervisors still not working. I mean hours on my phone to correct the problems, The last call to tech support they pinged my phone and now it will not work. These are the kind of people you deal with at Consumer Cellular. Of course they tell you the lines are still active and they "Understand how I feel" . Just a corporate bull line that they are trained to say. My experience stay far far away from this company.

Terrible!! My father died and they continued to bill me for his account despite me providing them with his death certificate and no phone usage whatsoever. I had been promised only his card would ever be billed yet they latched onto to me after his death. I have excellent credit and did not want to jeopardize that. This company is completely cruel and heartless and I have spent hours on hold on the phone as you can never get through to them. Horrible customer service, poor responsiveness, understaffed and unprofessional. I could not be more disappointed.

The price might be right but the customer service is pathetic. Long wait times on the phone and after a 1 hr phone call trying to solve the issue of phone not working tech does factory reset and erases all pictures. Phone still won't work. Sends me to target and electronic employee calls them. He wants to replace sim card they won't let him. Phone has message defective sim card. After 3 hrs. sim gets replaced phone works. Pay the extra and go somewhere where they know what they're doing. Called cc and they are "sorry" . Phones only 6 months old. Taking my business somewhere else.

I had to cancel my Consumer Cellular services because they gave me false information was told that my bill was going to be like around $25 and it turned out to be$46.80 which was far more than what I was paying with the Cricket. With cricket I got the $40 plan with autopay which they deduct $5 every month so I now am paying $35 per month which I think that's a much better deal and it's unlimited everything

The device and cellular service was fine but the customer service was terrible. I talked to them 5 times about the same issue as the promised followups and fixes never happened and their explanation changed everytime. I'm so glad I did a test run with them before switching my primary number - I really dodged a bullet.

Consumer Cellular is a bad customer service company. They shut my phones off with no notice even though they has received my payment on time. It took 2 hours on the phone to get reconnected. They take the approach that they are always right and the customer is always wrong. They made me pay for a phone that was ordered and never received saying it was my problem to turn my phones back on.

Their phones are way overpriced. Double the price. They are also locked so you can't use them on any other cell phone provider either. Text messages took forever to go through and with phone calls. Half the time there was no internet service. I sent an email to customer service and he did not address any of my issues but instead told me I should call.

I was with consumer cellular for about 8 years and during those times called CC a few occasions. Besides the first year, the rest of the times it was a nightmare to get to the Customer service, and at some point, I gave up calling them all together because of the extreme wait time and many rude reps. After they become unbearable with service and talk time limitation I had to find me some better option, and oh boy there were tons of them screaming for new customers with very attractive plans half price of consumer cellular. I am happy I left.

The customer service with this company is atrocious. I have had alot of trouble with them from day one, but never switched to someone else. I am switching now immediately. They did a factory reset on my phone and lost all of my photos. They didn't care. They even had the audacity to suggest I purchase an app that can recover them. It was 100% their error and I am supposed to pay out of my pocket to fix their mistake. I filed a complaint with the BBB and I am looking into a lawsuit. I needed some of those pictures for court and consumer Cellular was like oh well.

They need to give minus values for this deceptive company. Dealing with it has required my dealing with a consortium of liars and incompetents. Their assurances are fraudulent with respect to service area, customer financial risk, technical assistance, regional service partners, etc. I don't know who or what J.D. Power is, but if he/it recognizes the quality of this company, he/it must be either uninformed or equally incompetent.

I waited over a month for them to send the correct phone after they sent the wrong one. They were holding it waiting for me to 'verify my address'. They made NO attempt to contact me and had the nerve to start billing me before I was even able to use the service. The person I talked to was NOT apologetic at all of holding my phone. I cancelled the service before I even started

Today is 5 September and I have just received my Consumer Cellular bill. It is due 16 September and the company wants me to send in the payment 10 days before the due date. I have talked to company representative -- including supervisors -- approximately five times. The only thing they can offer is that there is no way they can change their billing cycle or I can use their auto-pay system. There is no way I will let them have access to my credit card unless I review the bill first, They would rather lose a customer than solve a customer problem. End

In May 2018 I switched from T Mobile, who I had been with for 16 years, to Consumer Cellular. Each day I receive up to 15 telemarketing calls. This had never happened with T Mobile. I called Consumer Cellular and they deny this. I put my number on The Do Not Call Register but that has not helped. I want to keep my number because my family, friends and businesses have it. They should not be allowed to sell phone numbers.

My plan was just talk but the company automatically upgrade the plan continue. I supposed pay $15 for talk but the company has charged $30 because of using text and data. Even though I did not use a text but upgraded because of coming text from others. I had asked several times to block text and data but it was not blocked ever. I have never experienced like that from other carriers. The consumer cellular phone is cheating me.

Bad Bad...If you like waiting 1 to 1 1/2hours to get a question answered then you will like Consumer Cellular!!! My time is more valuable. Also their "automatic" upgrade if you exceed your monthly allowance results in a new non-competive rate.There are better companies out there.They also lost their "Best Customer Rating" sometime ago.Please read the other reviews.

Had this service for about 3-4 yrs. The customer service hold is really long. However, once on with a support rep, they were very helpful and resolved issues. The service uses Tmobile and ATT cell lines. So the service is the same as these 2 companies, depending on which SIM card you have in your phone.

Value, they provide value. My bill with CC is less than half what Verizon charged me. Best part is if you are approaching your limits you are alerted in advance and offered ways to solve that problem in advance at no charge.

I’ve been a Consumer Cellular customer for 3 years and they terminated my service before notifying me that my payment didn’t go thru. For 3 years, I never missed a payment so I requested an extension. They told me no because the service was already suspended.

The worst cellphone company I ever had. If there is a zero for your service that’s exactly what you would get. They try and get over on the elderly and that’s one of the worst things that they are good for. All I can say is run,run,run as fast as you can away from consumer cellular. A nightmare in the works!

The coverage was poor. The calls dropped often or I could not make calls because of the poor network service. I would not recommend this carrier, especially in small towns or rural areas.

The wait time for customer service is 30-45 minutes. When I called to cancel my service the service representative tried to talk me out of it and then hung up on me. It took me another hour to get them to answer the phone when I called back. I have spent a week trying to get them to release my phone number so I can use it with my new phone.

I have 4 lines with CC. Unlimited talk, text & data. My daughter used (per cc), an excessive amount of data in a short period of time. The shut off her data and throttled all 4 lines. I called them and was told CC customers are a low priority to AT&T who own the towers that CC borrows.

First I must say that their customer service tried to be helpful and was US based - spoke good English. However, after signing up for the three line plan, I gave up after five days as they were never able to port our numbers over and activate our phones. Very disappointing experience overall.

Consumer Cellular has poor customer service, unempathetic representatives, and expensive and inconsistent pricing for their plans. Every month, the plan price increases. I would not recommend Consumer Cellular to anyone because they are not the best cell phone provider, as they state and mislead people to believe.

They stink. At first they signed me up for a useless plan that if you used it you were going to go over the limit and they would you up to the next plan. They never set up my voicemail for weeks until I inquired. I transfered out and made sure everything was settled and now they are trying to Bill me for 2 extra months that I paid for.

They recently added a fee to opt OUT of autopay/e-bill, which is the deal-breaker for me. Charging a fee because I don't want to share my cc/banking details seems shady. I've filed a complaint with the FTC and the FCC, although I doubt it will do any good. I'm looking at Mint Mobile as an alternative.
