DO NOT USE TURO outside of your own country! With reputable car rental companies normal wear and tear is assumed and overlooked. I got washer was the equivalent of a door ding and the host wants to charge me 588pounds for something that in America would be fixed for the price of a good detail job. The car was also handed over to me filthy. Now the host is harassing me and Turo is not being helpful. NEVER AGAIN!

Worst experience ever. My trip was canceled and requested for a refund. They declined it because they only let the host decide but treat the guest (renter) as second class citizens. The customer service sent threatening email when I filed a dispute to my credit company. I will never used this service again and I advice you not to do to. Turo stands for Total Uncontrolled Rental Oblivion.

8/6/2020 My husband and I were on our motorcycle and were hit by a man driving a TURO rental. We were injured quite badly. TURO did not get this driver, who we found out didn’t have a vehicle or insurance because of a prior accident. TURO only required him to obtain 75k In insurance, which barely covers cost of medical bills, none of lost wages, or treatment I’m still getting 2 years later! I will be suing you soon!

Turo is trash. My first and last experience was terrible as I had an accident within hours of the rental, which left the car undrivable. Unlike traditional rental companies, the first problem is that you don't get a replacement car, so my family trip was canceled. Make sure you read their insurance options carefully. They are much different than traditional car rental companies. I think they are very sketchy. To make it clear, I'm speaking about the issues with the Turo App company and not the hosts that rent the cars. I will never use this service again.

I booked a rental and the address they sent me to was an open field with no buildings. So I call the host and she kept saying um um I did not see the reservation um um I am not sure where the van is. She finally said she was canceling. Which left me with no way to get to work. I was told I would be refunded and I was NOT refunded. Now I have a dispute pending with the bank. I am out the money for the rental and may be fired for not being able to get to work and no one will communicate from Turo. STAY AWAY they are very shaddy and will rip you off.

I had a dispute with Host who wanted me to pay $166 to vacuum the driver side floor board ONLY. The car was spotless but evidently the host expected me to detail the car before returning. I disputed this with Turo who clearly did not have the long email string I had with another rep. I am a seasoned world traveler and clearly Turos clear customer is the HOST. NOT YOU. Thank GOD for chargeback rights with at least their fees going up from excessive disputes/ chargeback fees being imposed on the company.

I am finding the price for one particular vehicle changes every time I open the app. It changes at least three times when starting the booking process. This is very misleading. I find the car I want to book, it shows 66 per day. I tap on it to book, it changes to 78 per day. Then it changes again to $78.50 per day. This practice is very misleading and confusing.

If there was a negative star rating that is what I would give. Do not rent from this company. Rented a car and it was keyed on both sides. I reported it to the owner and sent pictures. I am now down 1800 dollars and still 6 months later are still putting charges on my credit card. The concept is great but unfortunately the way they deal with damages should be illegal. You don't need to authorize they will wait a month or two and send you a random email that they are charging your credit card.

I had booked a car and realized after I payed almost $700 that I could not drive in the county I needed to drive for work so I cancelled 10 minutes after booking they said they gave me my refund of $174 meanwhile I did not receive and they also couldn't explain why I was only receiving 173 out of 700. They told me I needed to talk to my bank to see why I didn't get my 173 because they refunded it and basically shrugged it off like

Horrible experience. I rented from Turo one time and it will be the last! The car smelled like rotting garbage. Turo did absolutely NOTHING to help me with the issue, other than waste my time referring me back and forth to phone numbers and chat boxes and offering zero assistance with the problem. This company is awful stick with a professional car rental company.

My trip has not yet begun, but already I am forced to leave a negative review. I rented a car, and the amount charged to my credit card was much higher than the advertised price. No one would correct this, so I canceled the reservation and made a new reservation. Same story. It seems Turo hooks people in by advertising a lower price, then jacks the price up once you enter your credit card information. This company is very dishonest - avoid them.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced aside from Robinhood. They do not listen, do not read the issues at hand, they respond from a general alias and are nearly impossible to reach by phone. Their call line is a joke and will hang up on you at any moment. DO NOT WORK WITH TURO. They take a huge fee and provide almost no assistance. Their timeline for damage reports are too short and they do not look at pre and post pictures of your car.

Tried to rent a car from them however the Website and host post one price but when you try to book it there is a higher price all together. Calling customer service is a JOKE they don't speak English very well and wont let you reach out to the host until AFTER you pay for the rental. Scam on pricing last time we rented from them the vehicle we rented had been wrecked, smoked in and no working AC though we would try them again. HARD PASS

Interestingly, I had a very pleasant experience renting from Turo. And my host left me a strong review. When I tried to rent a car one month later, Turo restricted my account with no explanation. I have a clear record, no driving violations for many years, so I tried to get additional information, but Turo would not provide this because their claim is that this process is propriety. I would not recommend this company.

Turo charged me for an incomplete transaction. When the car was delivered they told me my paperwork was not complete. I was charged a fee and told it would be refunded once I rebooked in 24 hours. I rebooked and rented for 3 days, completed the rental with photos and all required documents. They refused to return my money for the initial “incomplete paperwork”. DO NOT USE TURO. They will trap you and double charge you for a technicality. I would have used a reputable company had I known they would double charge me. DO NOT USE TURO. They are not BBB BUSINESS!

Do NOT rent from Turo. I rented a car for 4 hours and Turo charged me $500 then one month later, an additional $525 for additional alleged "damage." I never got in an accident. Keep in mind that a Turo Host has 24 hours to send in pictures of the car in support of any alleged damage claim that they file. So, the Host can drive the car around for almost a full day after you return it, then cause damage him or herself, and then file a claim that Turo will accept and charge you for. This company is a SCAM.

Booked a car two months in advance. Confirmed the day before. Land in Miami only to find that Nicole/Mocha had canceled my rental while I was in the air. Now I have no car - but Turo graciously refunded me. Ummm, I need a car, not the money. If I had canceled last minute I would’ve been charged a huge fee still - why am I not given 150% or so when the host cancels on me? And! You can’t leave a review for the host when they cancel on you. So her “5 star” rating stays intact…

Incredible such a story! Turo stole $ 180 from me in one reservation. Everything is going very well, but 30 minutes before picking up the car, Turo cancels the reservation because my license is damaged. I had it checked the day before and everything was ok. The place we picked the car up was not labeled and very hard to find. When we got home and waited about a week for my deposit to come back, it never did. So I emailed them and they said they would get back to me when they find out. Another week goes by and nothing so I message them again and they say they’ll get back to me when they hear back. 4 weeks more for by and over given up, but will never use them again.

If I could give them a 0 I would. Host cancelled trip 5 days before trip which normally you could find another car but it is Christmas. Yes, I could find another 7 passenger vehicle but at double the cost. Now trying to get a refund is a oke, you get bounced from person to person and maybe I will see the money, I will call my bank and cancel the transaction. This company has the absolute worst customer service. You need to speak with a supervisor and they say it will take 7-10 days and you won't know when they are going to call. If you miss the call, since we all have lives, you will have to call back and wait another 7-10 days for a mystery call date and time. Who does business like this??? It is obvious they care very little for customer satisfaction. Before this incident I told people to use them all the time. Now I'm telling people to find another way.

Sketchy company. They make you go thru all the verification process (mine was fine) then when you book a car, they do more checks and for me, said background not good. They should do that up front. Also force you to buy insurance, tack on trip fees, etc..By the time it was done, no price difference than the majors. Be aware and dont count on them. This was all directed at company, not a host.

My host promised to refund one day’s rental due to a maintenance issue. After they didn’t do that, I contested the charge with my credit card. Turo notified me that was against their policies and suspended my account, even though there is clear evidence in my message thread with the host of the promised refund. I won the credit card dispute but still Turo won’t reinstate my account, Their business practices are very underhanded. I suggest avoiding renting from them at all costs.

The rental portion went well, fortunately I had a great car owner, very nice man. The problem arose when I had to claim on the insurance because while parked in a parking garage the vehicle next to me opened its door and scratched one panel. Turo charged $1500 to my credit card and won't answer emails, phone calls or messages. Even the owner of the vehicle agrees this is 4 x higher than it should be. Things might be good, unless you was caught in an accident, no matter you are at fault or not, EVEN IF you purchased a PROTECTION PLAN from Turo, as they states : "The primary Guest is financially responsible for ALL Physical Damage or theft to the Vehicle, as well as Related Costs. BEWARE! Turo requires an absurd amount of money on top of your host fees and deposit. The trip fee is ridiculous and this makes renting with Turo very expensive. There is no way to speak to anyone on the phone. All billing questions are done by chatting messages. Watch out folks, Turo is a scam waiting to happen. Don’t even think they will follow their own policies and procedures, beware beware beware!! There is a reason the Better Business Bureau has rated them an F. They will try to charge you for a ledge damage to the car no matter how many pictures you take that show that there was no damage. I give Turo no stars after I spend… I give Turo no stars after I spend hours texting them for the account issues. First they have information about my last year trip and now when I want to rent the vehicle I need to go through series of verification process over the internet. After providing my drivers license and photo they want my credit card info. Renter's beware. Not a great company to deal with overall and very limited customer support. All phone calls are routed overseas with the only other option of chat or email support which is minimal. Not ideal if trying to resolve a claim. Aside from that, renter's should be warned: prior to using the vehicle, make sure to inspect every inch, top to bottom with before and after photos and videos, or you will pay. Some hosts are out to scam! Never again will I use this company for a rental. Absolutely terrible.

I had a very negative experience with Turo. I would caution those that are considering Turo as they are a very small, new company and are therefore more reactive to sensitive situations more than proactive. Also, they have a certain host, Christopher, who I would caution about as well. Beware. The TL;DR is the vehicle we rented had 2 very unsafe tires. The belt on one blew on the highway, and one had less than 2/32" of tread. Both were verified by experts in writing at Goodyear. We were forced to replace both tires on our dime -- and now both Turo and the owner refuse to repay us. Turo's support org. is the worst we've ever experienced at a tech company by far and is genuinely unhelpful. We provided Turo extensive documentation on all of this but they would not rectify the situation in the first 10 attempts, and never even got an apology.
