We shopped around a little and we're definently happy with our choice. More bang for our buck it seems and lots of options to fit our needs. Pretty easy to communicate with. We did have 2 problems. Got a leak from where one of the panels screwed in but they came out immediatley and fixed it quick and smoothly which was terrific, however, they made cleat holes on the opposite side of the roof they worked on and it was a 3month old metal roof. They had a roofer come out to quote repairs and he confirmed the type of damage, age of roof and recommended $500 to fix it which included labour. Smart wave sent the panel guys out again and they were just going to sink screws and silicone it which wasn't good enough for us since it was brand new and that solution would take a lot of years off the roof. The guys agreed but it was the best they could do cause they weren't roofers. Smart wave then asked us for a quote for us to fix it. I said $200 which should cover special ordering a new sheet to replace ourselves and rest of supplies. Never heard from them again. Disappointing.

Of the the companies we looked at, we liked their prices best. We also love the idea that when the power goes out we can still get some power coming from the solar panels. They were really good with us, they gave us a gift card for being slow because of Covid, and called to let us know about that. They came to put the system in and were done in 2 days. We have really steep roof and they were fine, very polite and worked around us well. We don't get as much credit as was promised from the electric company. They charged us for the first three years and then they give us the credit so we're not getting back nearly what we thought we would and it's going to take us about eight years to even get break even. Also, the tax credit wasn't as much.

Great company to work with and I love how they kept me up to date on the setup process. I would have given 5 stars but there was a lack of technical support ownership when I was having an issue with the power reporting back to the power company. I was getting billed for the solar I was producing because the setup of my system wasn't complete. I had to figure this out myself which took several months. This was several months of getting overcharged by the power company. Once I figure out the issue on my own, Smart Wave Solar just said good job.

We had a bit of a communication problem between us and the salesperson. We expected to pay a certain amount and it turned out that that was incorrect. We did get it all hashed out before we signed on the dotted line, but I wish communication was better. Also, ALL of the financing options for solar of any kind are a scam. Its a great product, but pay for it some other way than to go through the loan options. Nothing specific to Smart Wave Solar.

An Excellent professional and responsive company. We had an unusual situation where Installation was complete but an hail storm hit the next day after. My roof was destroyed but the panels survived. Our entire community needed roofs, windows and new gutters. SmartWave was quick to respond with our insurance and roofing company and removal and re install so we would not miss out on Solar usage. The SmartWave team was awesome to work with. Our only delay was with Jefferson County's inspectors getting out in a timely manner.

They had done a lot of work in my neighborhood so I went with them. They did a good job. The installers were very knowledgeable. I was even able to talk to the president of the company. My only problem is when you call customer service, no one every answers the phone. I would call sales and they would transfer me over. The equipment is working very well.

Staffing turnover affected communication, but the panels/inverter were professionally installed. I asked for Smart Wave to include an electric car charger as part of their bid. The charger they installed is not on the list of approved Rocky Mountain Power chargers and does not qualify for a rebate. That is disappointing.

For the most part I am happy with the system we installed. What I have communicated to Smart Wave is I think their system performance reporting is lacking. In the app provided I can only see how much power my system is generating. What I can’t see is how much power I am using from the grid. They tell me I can get that information from my monthly power bill. My son has Tesla solar and my boss has ES solar and they both get real time assessments for panel, grid and battery usage. I think total system reporting is way more valuable than just panel performance because I could make adjustments to my power usage patterns and see how I can better conserve. For example I run lamp post from dusk til about 10:30pm. I could turn that off for a cycle or two and assess the cost. I might also be able to assess the cost of large appliances like the washed and dryer on laundry day or a freeze dryer, etc. but I can’t do that, while other systems can. This feedback didn’t seem to mean too much to my Smart Wave consultant.

We had an excellent experience with our salesman, Daniel. He is very knowledgeable and never pushy. He was incredibly responsive to our many questions. We had been thinking about solar for years, but Daniel was the one to get us to commit. We ran into some issues with installation. But, management was responsive and apologetic. We had a good experience overall and their panels look great.
