One word Chelsea! You did an amazing job with our solar panel project. We signed a contract about 2 months ago and my partner and I had a lot of questions and concerns (our first home). We had lots of construction at the home and had questionable experiences with our flooring company ( a story for another day) and the solar project was next so we had a bit skeptical. Chelsea was able to answer all of our questions and even was kind enough to allow us to text her, and sometimes even into the late hours of the night, which we thought was so nice of her. My last electric bill was $23 from ConEdison. The solar panels are all black solar panels and they make our house just amazing! Way to go YSG and THANK YOU CHELSEA

My Tesla is now being charged from the sun! thank you YSG Solar. In September we started searching for a solar panel company. My neighbor used another company that we met previously who came to our home to provide us an estimate. We started the process and after months nothing occurred, my husband ended up cancelling. We called YSG and within one day of calling we received the estimate. From the day the paperwork was signed until the panel system had been installed was just weeks. This was a big relief. It was not an easy decision for us to go electric with our car. YSG even installed our Tesla charger, they delivered on all of their promises and are a true professional company. There is nothing better than getting a $20 power bill.

YSG are the go to solar guys. Two of my colleagues had systems installed by two of the bigger name companies and both of them have had non stop issues since their systems were installed in 2017 and 2018. I had a hard time finding a solar contractor after listening to their experiences until I met YSG at a trade show out in Staten Island in 2019. After about a year of going back and forth we finally pulled the trigger and had our system installed January 2020, right before the pandemic hit. Throughout all the shut downs and issues out of their control YSG was able to keep me in the loop and the closeout process was pretty quick considering what disarray the city was in at that point. Our system has been running beautifully for the last 5ish months since it was turned on and we’ve overproduced so far this summer. If my wife gets her way we’ll be moving out of the city soon and I would absolutely hire YSG again for a solar system. Thanks Felix C.

The team to install led by James and Eric were awesome. They accommodated the ideas I had about the system install and even accomadated some semi last minute equipment changes my husband wanted to make regarding different looking panels. The work looks great and they cleaned up very well. Really nice guys, they even took the time to go over the system with my son so he can keep an eye on it when we're out of town for half the year. We had our system installed in June 2020 and have already banked a good amount of power with Coned above what we used, which used to be around $250/month. Couldn't be more satisfied.

After looking at multiple companies, we went with YSG and are very happy we did. They had no high pressure sales tactics, aka let my wife take her sweet time deciding while still honoring the quoted price, and were actually 40-50% cheaper (!) per KW than the other two companies we looked at in detail. The whole application process was very streamlined and well organized, almost all done online, with YSG taking care of all the paperwork, right down to getting the local building permit. The installation itself was done less than 12 weeks after we opened our application, which was incredibly fast compared to what the others were offering, plus the installers were actually YSG employees, not contractors. Finally, I think YSG's panels look better, with a lower profile and a nice skirt around all the panels versus the design examples we received from the other two companies. We are very pleased with our panels and the entire project.

From start to finish cannot say enough about the service and professionalism of the entire team that came out to install our panels and power walls. We first had 21 panels installed to cover roughly 50% of our usage since my husband did not want panels on the front of the house (which is south facing). Once he saw our system at work for a couple months, he agreed that we should pull the trigger and have the front of the roof done to get us to having 100% of our usage covered. So we ended up having an additional 24 panels installed and 2 power walls and they got it done in 1 day! They answered all our questions and went above and beyond for a seamless installation. We highly recommend!!!

We did our homework for about 2 years and finally decided to go with YSG Solar. From the initial consultation with a very knowledgeable salesman to turning on the system everything is made very clear to us and we knew what to expect next. We loved the fact that YSG uses their own installation crews which other companies subcontract out and the parts we went with are American made. We have family and friends that wish they would have went with YSG after their horror stories with other solar companies.
We had our system installed Nov 2019 and have already accumulated around 1000 extra kwh in the last year, on top of covering our entire $320/month Coned bill. We are supremely pleased and would hire again.

I had researched solar power two years earlier and decided against it because of costs. YSG's partnership with their manufacturers and reduced material costs made procuring/installing a system within our financial reach. Their Proposal was well clear. When they agreed to an installation date, they arrived on time, worked much of the day, cleaned up after installation and when they left it was operating. Thus far (system installed Nov 2019) our electric bills show a 63% reduction in cost. I sized the system to break even with electrical costs by the end of the year. Using this approach YSG's ROI was 8-9 years. Based on our current bills (Sep-Nov2019), I fully expect to cut that ROI at least in half. Very happy with the system and YSG Solar.

I have to start by saying I am very demanding customer and I’m not easy to satisfy, We start looking into solar in 2014 we met with few companies and we had different offers and different options. but I wasn’t excited about any. We keep searching until I find YSG [you save green] on the Internet I give them a call and I spoke with David. and I have to tell you throughout the whole process he never let me down he was available each time I try to reach him and always giving me accurate information’s. he was great and reasonable and any promise he had made definitely had met. The installation team was great they did their job in 1 1/2 day. The work site was clean organized. very friendly people. system had been working perfectly sense October 2016. based on my experience they are great people great equipment And very honest. never tried to cut corners and I’m so happy to deal with them and whenever I have the opportunity to recommend them I do so.

I could not be more satisfied with YSG Solar. From start to finish they were professional. From the initial consultation, without knowing what to expect, they explained everything in details. It was truly a no-brainer decision to get solar based on how much it will cost me and how much I will recoup that and how much I'll save beyond that. They took care of ALL the paperwork, explain the loan options, tax benefits, etc. They came, they installed and clean up after themselves. My main concern was what kind of damage is done to my roof. 3 years later, no issue. My electric bill is now about $20, the cost of hooking up to the grid. I even bought a Nissan LEAF. My intention was just to save myself some $$$, but I'm so happy that I'm doing my part to save the planet and feel really good about it. All thanks to YSG Solar. And yes, they have helped me get the paper work needed to file my taxes and claimed my refund.

If solar panel construction was a baseball team, YSG would be the Yankees. I have never been this biggest baseball person but these guys are good. Our installation took place almost three years ago and the process was amazing. At first we had looked into solar and received so many calls. I had to put off the project for several months we just had been very turned off at first. YSG was the only company still followed up with us and took the time to explain how it works. We received conflicting information from two of the other companies and it just gave us a bad feeling. My house is heated with electric so going solar seemed like a natural next step. The installer stayed at my house late until the job was done and came early the next day, the entire team was hard working and are passionate about solar panels. My electric bill after solar has been $20 each month. Hard to believe more people are not going solar. If your thinking about it take the time and research the equipment. ( we went with Panasonic) Make sure you get quick mount flashing this is an item we did a lot of research about when we went solar. The roof was new and we had been concerned about water damage. YSG offers the longest warranty we found but we also had our roofer inspect the job after they finished. Everything is working just like they promised., thank you YSG!

We have been looking into solar power for a while and after comparing few companies we decided on YSG! From the moment we signed the contract they've been very quick and professional on every step. We got our panels installed just a few weeks after the contract. The inspection took two visits to get done. Pseg would not change my meter since I have a small dog in the yard. We have had solar for few years now, and we reduced our electric bill significantly. He set up the monitoring system and we track our power every day since the activation. Amazing how easy it was to produce clean electricity, Thanks to the entire team!

We got our solar done about four months ago and love it! The sales rep was great to work with. No BS talk and was very friendly and no pressure. He spent time listening to our concerns about going solar and addressed them. He gave us great detailed info about the products and the pro's and con's about solar. YSG had been the only company to explain how the tax credits actually work. They made us feel very comfortable with the whole process and was very professional and friendly. The install crew was a great bunch of guys. Got the job done fast, clean and ran the conduit piping the way I wanted. Thanks again to YSG for the great experience and professionalism.

YSG Solar is less than a reliable company. In 2019 I contracted them to install solar panels. Anthony the representative was a really good liar. Not until 2020 the panels they claim installed in '19 were finally installed late in the evening by Chinese people. They did such a horrible job and destroyed my roof. After countless request for inspection and sent images and incomplete inspections. About 8 attempts the inspection for electrical was completed mid 2020 after one year making payment for the panels. This company is cold and has not client value. YSG only cares about the $$$ and I hope each employee enjoy the holiday and fake and fruitless as they all are. I can only wish but that would make me as a horrible person as they are. All I can do is to continue to warn those seeking Solar to select a company with MORALS and VALUE. Please read this warning and avoid them at all costs.

I would give them 5/5 in workmanship and my satisfaction after all the issues were resolved. (Please see my initial review below.) Since the last review, the system has been connected and working fine. My first solar production started on June 26th and I have a full month of satisfaction since then.
One note for anyone trying to finance their system, please make sure you ask about the system base cost and dealer fees separately. Dealer fees is huge 15-20% that bank charges to your solar company and they pass on to you. So if you are financing, you are paying upfront 15-20% extra which is rolled into what you are borrowing. I learned it quite late.

My system was installed over 3 months ago now. It's still not activated yet. First I had to go after them to finish electrical inspection and now for last month I've been emailing and calling them to activate the system and show me how to monitor, but no concrete response yet.
My frustration led me to write my first negative review of the lifetime. After 3rd loan installment and sunny days and no solar power.

We had solar installed back in 2015 by YouSaveGreen. The solar works great and our bill has not been above $50. We used to pay over $200! They energy audited our home during the first meeting. We had been impressed with all of the recommendations. He found out our air condition vents had been using more energy since they did not have a seal. This made sense since all of the vents are in our attic. Most other companies tried to have us rent the solar panels. We are happy we purchased our solar panels from YouSave.

Adding voltaic panels to our home was a goal when we had lived out west. Arriving in New York we did not know if this would be worth it. We built our house with a perfect roof facing south. Our YSG solar panel experience has been great and we are the proud owners of a 5000 Watt panel system. YSG answered all of my questions and had been patient with us the entire time. I recommend them.

I really like to apologize for misunderstanding YSG. Due to very slow process I was very frustrated seeing the functional systems with several friends houses who even initiated the process much later and consequently expressed on my earlier review. However I was convinced by their recent explanation for the delay to complete the inspection for interconnection. I was told that my case is the top of the list for inspection. Hope it will be done accordingly !

Their customer service, especially after installation, was top notch! We only had a issue with my meter with LIPA. There was some miscommunication with how that worked. As soon as I mentioned an issue, they were on it. The converter box has a plug so when we have sun we can keep our fridge and a fan running. That is a very nice bonus feature.

Couldn't be happier! This company was very courteous, got the enphsae system installed. We can see all the solar panels from our computer. They used micro inverters that produce more power than I use, enough so that I am able to charge my electric car. Our electric bill since has never been over $50 a month. We got tax refunds in the first year!

My solar system stopped working and now I can't get in contact with them. (Called for months and emailed them)Use another solar company if you don't want future headaches. I had issues with YSG for years, especially with the passing of permits and things related to the DOB. (Took a whole year and prob would not have been done if i did not get involved with numerous contacts to the DOB) My consumption meter stopped working a year ago and they refused to fix it, they offered to send me a check to have someone else fix it but it's been a year and still no check with multiple follow ups. Now my solar panels are no longer working and I am stuck with no support. I'm a person that never likes to leave a bad review, because i don't believe in reputation shaming. But YSG definetly deserves the 1 star. Stay away from YSG. Wish I never did business with them. NO INTEGRITY WHATSOEVER.

I have to join to low-end ratings here. This was a $29K job for which the contract was signed a year ago and has yet to be activated. Installation was fine (as far as I know because, after a year, the system has not been turned on) but front-office work has been less than stellar. I understand that COVID was a complicating factor, but the system was completed in January, all the required papers provided, balance due paid in full, building inspection completed and approval received (after ten months), and not all the delays were attributable to the virus.
They lost (and subsequently found) important papers that were provided months earlier; failed to provide confirmation of receipt of other documents that were requested months after physical completion of the project; held up the inspection until I provided pictures of the electric meter which was difficult for me, as the homeowner, to access (only upon my insistence, did they send someone out to do that). After more than six months they were still trying to determine if a building permit had even been filed. When the final bill arrived they had forgotten about and omitted credits for utility bills that were inlcuded in the contract.
As of this writing the system is still not on and they have yet to respond to my emails regarding the scheduling of activation. Remember, at this point, after a year, the project is installed, the inspection done, approval received and full payment made.
I have no reason right now to believe the installation work was anything other than proper. Their office work, however, even after allowance for the pandemic, was sloppy and less than diligent.

WARNING DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS SCAM COMPANY!!! LOOK AT MY SCREENSHOTS!!! You're going to get stuck paying for a system that doesn't work I can promise you that! My solar system has been in need of repair since March 2022 (now August 30th 2022). Pigeons even made a home under the solar equipment installed on the roof because the technicians improperly installed the critter guards. I have a long email of back and forth to prove my claim and of course the long history report of my actual solar system. YSG Solar IS A SCAM! Look at all these fake accounts giving high praise to what is really a SCAM company. 99% of the reviewers here have less than 3 total reviews. Here's a few examples of the many outrageous excuses to not come out and repair my warranted system (screenshots attached):

My name is Salvatore Coretto, and in 2019 I decided to go with YSG Solar for my panel services. Mostly the initial introduction and offering of equipment was simple. I agree with their services. The next few was the downfall. The equipment sold never arrived. I received a type of panel less productive than the one agreed and then service stalled. Calling the company began to be a nightmare. Email correspondences seem like endless, never a response. Finally, figured out the company only operates on their own schedule and you never have an opportunity to speak with a live agent. The chat support is very condescending and negative. Long story short - they are tell to sell and not meet any requirements. So, throughout the process I complained that the system wasn't properly installed. The mapping of the panels and communication with the inverters are still faulty as they were from the first day of installation. They don't come out to inspect the job after completion after they hired a contractor to install the panels late in the evening causing my neighbors to complain about all the noise. Now, Enphase has to manually each day reboot my panels and to configure the miscommunication. I recently received a leak about 2 1/2 months ago and still trying to figure out what's my option because YSG doens't return calls or have adequate staff qualified to handle and assist with the claim. YSG did sent two of their own highly recommended contractors to assess the damage and each have told that the roof and the installation wasn't done according to code. The proper installation was ignored and that the roof is damaged due to the installation. So, bottom line... they destroyed my roof, ignored my request for 2 1/2 years + and should not be a company qualified to install panels in the NY or the US. Oh lastly, from the words of Chelsea W "YSG has already received your money, so we don't care." It's your problem now. This comes from the Operations Manager of YSG.

YSG is not a professional company from making false promises on schedule to the owner, David M not being accountable. I was told the system would be completed In 2 months at most.
That was in November 2019, “everything will be installed in 1 or 2 days” I am into my 3rd visit and still Not fully installed.
I am dealing with an incomplete installation and a YSG team that’s not accountable for what they do. I was told on 12/24 the rest of my connection will be 3 or 4 weeks.
David asked me to approve the loan on 1/2/2020 and everything will be completed in 3-4 weeks. All it was so they could get paid, since he has avoided contact with me. I asked for call backs.
Do not approve any loan from Service Finance Company, LLC until you are fully operational.
Stay away from YSG, I have had an issue every step of the way, not one item or schedule has been kept.
I will update my progress until my system is connected updated - 2/6/2020
As of 2/28 I have not received any schedule of my interconnection, e-mails and schedule request have gone un answered for weeks. I keep on getting the run around, I get the talking to Nora or David but no answers from Ken D who was my sales person.
My loan payment has started in February and now I am paying for a system that’s not operational plus my electrical bill. Two bills and not end to it.
I have contacted Service Finance Company, LLC and waiting on their reply.
I will update my progress as I hear back from Service Finance Company, LLC or when David Magid decides to complete my project or call me back as requested. Updated 2/28
As of 4/22 YSG is refusing to provided incentives added to the agreement.
Do not trust the Docusign process.
Do not approve the loan or sign anything from Service Finance company until you have a fully sign agreement.
Add a retainer on the agreement until the work and connection service if fully completed, which means your are generating power.
As of 10/19/20 - My permit have not been closed, I left a message with Raymond, their project manager and no call back. The incentives promised have not been delivered as of this update.
Do not take a loan from any of their finance company GreenSKY (dropped them) or Service Finance company, they are all in bed together.
As of 11/2 YSG has not closed my permits or provided a timeframe for closing them

I'd like to answer to YSG Solar's comment back to my review When I was sold my 17,000 dollar system, I was told " YSG monitors your panels 24/7, we will be on your roof before you even know you have a problem!!!!!" If I was told the customer had to do this work I would NEVER have taken on this responsibility! They word it now that the customer can have the "joy" of looking at their home online and see the production. But they DO NOT let you know the CUSTOMER is actually in charge of looking out for the problems and having to call it into YSG . Ask them to put it into the contract that THEY are responsible for the monitoring of your system, THEY WILL NOT DO IT! Shame on me for not "catching" that in my contract. As far as I'm using more electric since they installed almost five years ago and after they just fix the problem. I finally got a 20.00 bill from my electric company! YSG's answer to my review is just another way of fabricating the truth! GO TO A COMPANY WHO IS RESPONSIBLE IN WRITING FOR MONITORY YOUR SYSTEM. I am helping you understand the hidden, most important part of owning solar! In YSG comments to reach out to them..... I was sent to their answering service automatically for weeks until I figured it out. They do not call you back when you try to hold them accountable with your issues.

We understand your frustration and feel badly about this. Your solar panels were installed in 2015 and you have a standard SolarEdge monitoring system which allows you to see, on your computer, how much power you generate.
I know you have expressed frustration that your electric bills have increased. We had advised that your panels are generating power, and have come to your home to show you that the solar panels are working—it just got kicked off the internet from your modem.
The reason your energy bills have increased is because your energy consumption has increased. You had advised us that if we did not pay your new energy bills, that you would write bad reviews on the internet about YSG.
Unfortunately, we are not able to pay your electric bill as the solar equipment you purchased is functioning just as designed. During the time you purchased the equipment you had a 5-year warranty—which we have maintained for you.
We would suggest reducing your electrical consumption because, although you have solar, the system was only designed to generate the amount of power you needed at the time the system was designed. An increase in energy consumption will cause an increase in energy usage, and any electricity use beyond what solar provides will be billed by the power company.
If you do have any questions you are welcome to email us, contact our office number, or even set up a time to meet a support associate in our office to answer questions you may have.

Don't Trust Them! They make promises they don't keep.
I was going to wait and replace my roof first but was assured by YSG Solar that temporarily disconnecting and reconnecting the solar panels was common and wouldn't cost much more than $400. Considering this option, I double (and triple) checked this price with Steve, the salesman, who I worked with. He confirmed that "this was a service benefit that [YSG Solar] provided to their clients". So, I converted to solar... and was satisfied.
One-and-half years later, I had the funds to change the roof and contacted YSG Solar to schedule the temporary solar panel disconnection. Finally, I received a call after a week's worth of failed attempts at trying to reach someone capable of assisting me. On the phone was the same salesman, Steve, who sold me the system, with a quote of $3,400 - plus materials. I reminded him that on at least 3 different occasions, he assured me that "the temporary disconnect would not be much more than $400". However, this time, he denied quoting this price AND insulted me by implying that $400 was just silly and unreasonable, despite his confirmations prior to installation.
It is unfortunate that a company would be so dishonest. This situation leads me to believe that YSG Solar just wants to sell their product without regard to integrity or their customers' well-being. Just like the stereotypical used-car salesman, they do not stand by their word.
Instead of solar saving me money, which was the entire reason for this purchase, it is going to cost me (at least) another $3,500 - all because of YSG Solar's lies and deception. I am completely disgusted.
If you're in the market for solar, I suggest you find another company and DO NOT USE YSG Solar!

Last Steve contacted me with a new quote of $1,800 which is still 4-1/2 times the originally promised price of $400. I am still hopeful that YSG will keep their word. Otherwise, I will do my best to make sure that anyone considering solar, finds out about YSG Solar's deceptive business practices.

PS: If you see this on Yelp, take note of all YSG Solar's hidden negative reviews. I posted this review there too & hope Yelp doesn't hide it as they did before (bc I followed Yelp's guidelines and I can confirm that I did a solar conversion with YSG in Dec. 2016).

A job that consists of removing and restoring panels on average can range from $500 - $2,000 not including materials. Our solar executives are highly transparent when explaining a situation pre-installation and post installation. The labor includes removing the panels, rails, brackets, optimizers, wiring and over 80+ bolts & nuts. Once taken down we must re install the system, with all parts mentioned including new adhesive seal, flashing, and all new hardware. The scope of work includes up to four installers and on average up to three days to complete restoration. In this case Mr. Tozzi we apologize if you had been confused with the cost of full removal and restoration.
