This is the most incompetent company I have ever worked with. Billing issues - It took weeks to get a bill from this company, then they hounded me incessantly about payment. One problem, they were charging me the wrong amount. We are in year 2 of the lease, which is $180/mo, they keep charging us year 5 rates. Several emails and calls and it was not resolved. Install issues - We had to do a simple task, re-roof our house. The lack of communication and straight out LIES is unbelievable. They tell us one day, they don't show up. They tell us the reason they had to cancel and then get caught in a lie when we press them. It's now taken over a week to get them out to re-install, they LIED again and said they were our of parts, when in reality their install crew is in a DIFFERENT STATE. So now I've had to postpone the sale of my house for several weeks because of this company, which has cost me THOUSANDS of dollars. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS

I am extremely upset and would NEVER recommend this company. I have ACTIVE leak in my home and have been back and forth with customer service to schedule an installation and reinstallation so that my roof can be replaced. I have sent over written in request of this for 3 weeks. Every time I call, customer service tells me they will call me back. I have been waiting to receive a call back for three weeks and nothing! When I call, they tell me they sent over a request to their committee a week ago (November 21, 2017) yet I have emails showing I sent them this request on (November 7, 2017). Where did the two weeks difference go? Every time I call customer service, they tell me to give them a few days and they would call me back. I have never received a call from them. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company and will NEVER recommend any of my customers to use this (as I work with the public). Vivint Solar should act responsibly and an active leak is causing me mold and health issues! Please reconsider before choosing them as your solar panel company.

We have soured on Vivint. It turns out that the installer of the box on the house made a mistake (didn't put sealant all around the box). Half of our panels shorted out twice resulting in losing solar power for 2-3 months each time. It wasn't until the second repairman/electrician figured out the installation issue. Vivint refused compensation for the second occurrence despite it's faulty installation. Numerous emails and phone conversations resulted in being stonewalled. They said they would call back but didn't. I had to chase them. Robotic flavor to conversations with customer service. We regret chosing Vivint.

My experience with vivint solar is a night mare untill today. I do advise all of you out there who is looking for solar, get it if you ar looking for but NOT FROM VIVINT SOLAR. Ill tell you only a bit of my story. From December when salesman came at my house, explained everything about solar and never mentioned about contractor. He shows a page for proof of there insurance to sign. And no contract or anything else. That insurance certificates have expired policy and vivint solar dose forge your signature (like they did in my case) I called them many times to cancell and they refused. So i said simce im not paying for it, i let them instoll it. (Big mistake) My service was installed in February and the system was approved to be turned on on march. No one from vivint did turned on the system even i was on phone with them every week untill August. On June, July and August they charge my cc without having system on for $383. I called billing they told me that a credit will be on your account untill November 2 i haven't seen any credit. Called account over 40 time and waiting for over 45 minutes for someone to pick up and barley. When i called for new service with 1 ring they picked up. I asked them a question. Why when i call billing department i get to be placed on hold fir 45 minutes, and when i need te became a vivint costumer you pick up with 1 ring. He laughed and said. Come one you already know the answers. New costumers are new costumers. I honestly got insulated. On November 2 vivint solar called me from collection department for $351 for 2 months billing. I told them that you charged me for 3 months that i dident have system on and i have credit fir $383. My bill is only $351 and i still jave over $30 credit. Bilking told me that a credit is on mu way since September and still havent apply to my acc. When i received collection call i said enough is enough. I paid them $351 and called my bank to decline the charges from vivint solar and never authorized them for electronic charge on my account. Now im looking with my attorney to sue them. I hope this story will help someone out there not to get burned like me. Good luck.

Terrible! My parents had their installation guys come out, and they said their roof was fine to support all the panels. Less than a year later and they had a roof that is caving in. Took these yahoos forever to come over and remove the panels. Now the roof has been done for almost a month, and they won't even call back to say when they'll come reinstall the panels. So for almost 2 months my parents, who are in their 70's, have paid for panels they don't even have. I'm SERIOUSLY looking into contacting the county attorney's office, as it seems they prey on the elderly. Very shady. They also charged my parents $500 to remove the panels, when they NEVER should have been installed on a weak roof in the first place

This company is truly a living nightmare. They lie or just exclude facts from you, when you sign up with them. Sadly it took 4 months to sell my house, when I had an offer 2 weeks after I listed it for full asking price, but due to Vivint/Solar I lost many offers If you do not plan on staying in your house for the next 20 years. Then do not sign with these people. I lost 15,000.00 on the sale of my home, due to this company lying. If you cannot find a buyer, willing to buy your home with this company solar on your roof. Then you are either stuck with your house or pay Vivint $50,000, to get out of there 20 year contract. I had many offers on my house, but once the buyer found out the solar comes with the house and that they would have to sign a contract with Vivint, they all back out and told me that they cannot sign a contract with such a shady company. After all that and I finally sold the house… Vivint continued to take money out of my account, because they did not get the transfer completed on their end. When I called them and informed them I no longer own the house, they was not very nice and did not want to cancel my auto pay. Once I told them that I am not longer a customer of Vivint and that is any funds was taken out of my account. I would take them to court for fraud. And only then they stopped my auto pay. I had to go to the bank, to stop payment and was charged $30.00 to do so. This is the first time I have every complained about a company. But I feel it is a must. I went through so much more with this company, if I was to tell you everything wrong with this company. You would be here all day reading how bad they are This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my 53 years. PLEASE FOR YOUR OWN GOO…. DO NOT SIGN WITH VIVINT

Vivint installed our solar two years ago. They did not install enough solar panels, and in the last twelve months, we paid an average monthly bill to Vivint of $100.00, an electrical overage bill of $1789.24 to SCE, which averaged to $149.10 per month, + electrical bill averaging $3.00 per month. The total average amount paid in electricity and solar per month was $252.10. SERIOUSLY! That's more than we paid in electricity before Vivint's solar panels! We were told that we would be paying less than $50 per month, and that was their selling point. WRONG! We were promised by their rep Tanner Torres, who left the company, that they would add more panels if needed, and we complained six months after installation when we found out about the SCE overage bill forthcoming. They want to fix the problem and add more solar because they admit they grossly miscalculated what we needed, but they won't actually fix it. They want to create an additional contract for 20 years in order to fix it! We just want the first installation done correctly and they won't fix that. They want to try to get another separate contract with us and another monthly bill! THEY ALREADY GOT THE 30% TAX WRITE-OFF FROM THE GOVERNMENT for our installation. We deeply regret doing business with this untrustworthy company. BIG MISTAKE! WE DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING BUSINESS WITH VIVINT! Again, we now pay an average of $252.10...with solar, more that we paid without solar!!!!! And they told us we would pay less than $50 a month!!!

I was mowing my lawn when the Vivint Solar sales rep approached. He asked if I had ever considered going solar and I said yes but that I would not go forward until I had the opportunity to replace my roof as the current roof is old and in poor condition. I could not afford to replace the roof immediately but it was in my plans. The sales rep told me that it would not be a problem as Vivint would remove, store and reinstall the panels for a nominal $500.00 fee when I was ready to replace the roof. Well less than 2 years later I am ready to have the roof replaced and the fee for Vivint to remove, store and reinstall is $3,840.00!!!!! Apparently in the contract it states that after 5 years the onetime fee will be $500.00. Well I am only going to replace the roof once and I expect Vivint to stand behind the verbal agreement the sales rep made with me. I have had no luck with the Customer Support people. No Surprise there. The converter in my system malfunctioned back in early June and it took Vivint until the end of August to fix it. My system did not generate any electricity during 10 of the most productive weeks of the year. If it had not been for the bill I received from National Grid I think the system would still be down. So I have not generated any credits with National Grid for the coming winter. I called Vivint on July 3rd after I opened my National Grid bill and saw that I owed them money when my solar system should have been generating ample electricity. They told me someone would be out between 2 and 6 so I left work early and nobody showed up and nobody called. I called back and set another appointment for July 12th and 2 workers came and told that the converter was fried due to water getting in. They naturally did not have a replacement but I assumed they would follow up and eventually my system would be back online. That was the incorrect assumption. I called Vivint several more times and each time I was told the repair would have to be rescheduled to a later date. They finally did come to replace the converter near the end of August after I insisted on speaking with a supervisor, but not before they had charged me for an estimated bill even though my system was not creating any electricity. If you make any verbal agreements with the sales rep…make sure those agreements go into writing on the contract before you sign. Vivint is a poorly managed outfit.

The system works as any other will, Their website is terrible it does not provide any useful information, if you want to know how much power your system created yesterday, good luck you will never know. If you want to call for service because something is wrong, guess you need to wait 4 weeks before a technician can show up to solve the problem. If you want an email reminder that you need to pay, good luck, the only reminder is when you are late, no chance for any simple things I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Vivint Solar, do your homework, ask for prior installations in your area. If I can remove the system I would do it right now

9/9/17 Very bad experience... End of June/early July I met with Joshua H, area representative... very knowledgeable, polite, kept me updated as we progressed through the project... 7/25/17: The construction team was great: on time, finished on time, polite, knowledgeable ... 7/24/17: Electrician didn't account for the correct amount of AMPs from the box once the solar was hooked up... 8/24/17: City Inspector didn't pass on the electrical work because of the AMP situation ... I've received several calls from Avint customer service, sometimes several a day (different area codes ‼️). One CS rep would state something completely different from the other CS rep - none of information they conveyed was correct or up to date - all assuring me they would get back after I told them what was, or should I say "what wasn't " On or about 8/31/17 I started calling & leaving messages for Duff, the area manager. He did attempt to get back to me, but I was not available; in the meantime I've attempted to call him about 3-4 times.. 9/9/17... STILL WAITING ‼️‼️

Vivint put up 27 solar panels on my roof when I only need 9 panels! Vivint solar miscalculated my usage and designed a system that produce three times of the electricity than what I can use. Now each month I am paying at least $100 additionally on electricity. It has been like this for 18 months! I have called more than 20 times and emailed my bills continuously to them. No Response!!! The customer service will tell you they are working on it, but no action is done! I already overspent $2500 on electricity since I installed it in April 2016. Learn from my mistake! Do not use Vivint Solar! It's totally a rip-off. They only care about collecting money and doesn't care about customers at all!

It is hard to get this system up and running. Setting up for billing and account verification always failed. Account cannnot be found in the system. And no contact with customer on why or how the account has not been set up yet. I think the customer service is not as good as they could be. And it took forever to get the solar system turned on.

We started our journey with solar in mid-May. The initial activities, to include installation, went relatively well. However, it is now the end of August and our solar is still not up and running. I would just like to get off of PG&E. Our bill for July was over $800. and for August is over $900.

This company is Horrible. The installation group, called one late evening in May asked if it was ok to start the install the following day. The installers arrived and totally butchered my house with no respect or thought of trying to hide anything. The electrical pipes are exposed which run up over the roof and through the overhang, nothing concealed, leaving huge holes in my roof and in the stucco overhangs. They have been telling me since May that they had a crew just to do repairs, this is BS, they never have showed up. I don't know at this point if they are done or not. I did get an email stating that Vivint is calling for the local principality to do the inspections. Who knows if this will get done in a timely manner. The reason I even considered installing solar was my electricity bill was so High, now we are through the summer months and still no solar power to offset my utility bill. This process all started back in November 2016. I have built housing tracts in less time.

Beware. If something looks too good to be true it is. Vivint will install a system on your roof, and you will pay them for the energy your system produces, not the energy you use from your system. Also be aware that any oversupply is paid back to you at less than 10 cents on the dollar. I was given a "rebate" from AC Electric for my oversupply in the amount of $43 when it cost me $557 to produce. Trust me that there is some creative accounting going on with AC Electric. Also, to buy out the system after 6 years, it will cost me about double the amount it would cost to build a new one. The only upside to this is green energy... definitely not cost savings.

Initial installation was delayed several months because they couldn't get the work cleared by the city. Next, discovered roof leak upon first big rain and I really don't know if it was repaired since we haven't had rain since. Fast forward two years, the conduit line that they mounted from the box, along the eaves, facia board have broken away and are dangling with only support from the existing gate. This happed about 3 months ago and still not repaired. They used plastic brackets! I'm still waiting for an electrician to come out, just counting down. Oh yes, I've called and they verified an appointment for 07-10-17, no show and no call. So I'll wait until the hot weather has passed (end of Sept) and then they can remove the system on their dime. So disappointed.

Customer service has been horrible. Corey, Chandeler, all liars! The system has been on my roof for over a year and is not working. I do have extreme water damage coming through my family room ceiling. At first they said they would send someone out to check the damage. This took 3 months. I had to miss work to wait around all day. The person they sent out said he would recommend removing the system. The report was later changed and they tried to place the blame on a 5 year old AC system that had never shown signs of leaking. Within a few months when rain started a slow leak started. Now it is huge. They do not care and want to pass the blame. I have begged to speak to a manager or owner and they will not provide this information. This company is horrible! Do not trust!

Well, at the beginning, the sales were very nice and they helped you to setup everything very fast with telling no extra fee, no installation fee... Everything looks great and dreaming big saving of usage. However, problems coming soon. First, it won't save you a lot money if your electric usage is around $100 per month. It would save you about $20-30 per month. But, as no any other payments, I accept it. Secondly, if you have any questions to contact the service. Trust me, it's a disaster to get the phone line through. Sometimes I doubted the company is bankrupt. And the Third one is you need wait for ONE month to remove the panel they installed. Even though, the roof is broken, it's leaking, or any other emergency reasons, you can not remove the panel. The phone operator said, there's no emergency policy. You sign the contract, and you must wait for 30 days to get your panels down, even the roof is on fire. I am soooo mad with the conversation and I will contact my attorney to remove the panels and get rid of the jerk company.

In January while I was away from my home I received a call from neighbors saying they saw a Vivint solar truck hit my car which was parked in front of my apartment. Multiple neighbors saw the truck hit my diver's side mirror off my car. One of the neighbors tried to run after the truck but the occupants blasted through a stop sign and sped off. My direct neighbor sent me his security camera footage, its a fixed camera point up the street clearly showing the truck passing then seconds later via audio you can clearly hear the contact made by their truck to my car. I filed a police report and notified Vivant Solar of the incident. The initial local representative at Vivint Solar that I spoke was clearly not concerned with my vehicle, he was solely focussed on the repercussions of having to fire the occupants of the truck which he was able to confirm who they were via the GPS tracking they have on all their vehicles and confirm that their specific truck was on my street at the time of the incident. I provided every bit of info that he asked for, he tells me to report it to corporate which I did. Horrible experience, I spent hours each day throughout an entire week calling them dozens of times. After being passed around to numerous people who were supposed to contact me , a month passed and I was told they cover the damages through their ithey'd cover the damages and that I'd just have to go through their insurance called Zurich. Of course that did not go as expected. They asked for more info pertaining to the evidence of the accident which was very clear cut given the footage, multiple eye witnesses, gps tracking of their own vehicle, and photos of the damage. I provided them everything they asked for including the camera footage. They then come back saying they can't determine the truck hit my car... As irate as I was, after the time I had already wasted I ended up paying out of pocket to fix the car. It wasn't worth my time/stress in continuing to pursue. Between the repairs and the rental car I needed in order to get to and from work it tallied up very quickly. Vivant never made efforts to resolve so I felt it was important to share this experience. To be clear, Vivant was never helpful at all, dodging my calls for months while the representatives I dealt with showed no concern or compassion regarding their licensed drivers pulling a hit and run, nor did they make any efforts to ensure this would be resolved. Clearly my neighbors were upset that this happened feeling it could have happened to any of their vehicles. I hope this makes potential customers aware of the lack of integrity this company has.

In late August of last year we discovered water stains on a ceiling caused by a roof leak. The leak was caused by a hole chewed by a squirrel that had built a nest under a panel. We had a pest control company remove it and notified Vivint. They showed up a week later, removed two panels and put in a temporary patch. Good thing we were in a drought. It took three months and many calls to get the roof repaired by them. Each person I spoke to told me a different story. I was told they would install an animal guard. Well, it still hasn't been installed. 10 months! I even paid for it three months ago. I've been a homeowner for 45 years and this is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Every one tells me that someone will call me and nobody ever does. I have to call them to get the service dates. I've had four occasions where their crews showed up with the wrong information. Nothing gets done. While waiting for them to get their act together, I had to remove a bird nest. I've been scanning the roof for 10 months looking for squirrels. I don't believe anything they tell me. They are driven by their bureaucratic processes and not the needs of the customer.

Went with Vivint a year ago to save on energy costs, etc. Poor electrical install from the panels to the solar panels and brought to their attention and they did nothing. Electrical conduit ran all along side of house all along back of house up onto the roof and over to a different level roof. (could of ran in attic and been much cleaner professional install. Looks like a no skill laborer ran the electrical. Bill has doubled since going solar and have a $3300 end of year bill from PGE to pay due the their system not performing no where near the 9.69KW. Took them a year to send a technician out to fix the problem. Impossible to view your energy consumption. Poor customer service to say the least. Over 425 BBB complaints when I filed a complaint. I put my self in complete trust and was not told the truth from the beginning. My sales person Jeff was nice to me in the beginning than after some time when the service proved to be nil and i blew my stack he told me not to call him anymore. i don't remember he ever mentioning the $20,000 requirement in the contract. I tried many times to have them add panels but was given varying excuses and finally the told me my electrical panels would have to be expanded and rebuilt. these people gave me nothing but grief whenever I called them to discuss service. l do not believe that the can spell SERVICE. The icing on the cake was when i told them i had emphysema so needed to run my Air conditioning at max or the summer months they told me in so many words that it was my problem. I'm stuck with a $20,000 penalty and no where to turn. I pray a lot....

I have had Vivint Solar for appx 3 yrs now. I had long wanted to get solar, but could not afford the investment. Vivint was the first in my area to solicit a system with nothing down that "would produce more than my needs and for less money than Edison." This has never materialized. The salesperson promised I would save money. The company required 3 yrs of prior electric bills to make this claim and plan for installation needs. 30 day installation took nearly 2 years. First finished system(soon to be called system 1) was just a few small panels..looked like a science project verses an entire home's power source. Took a yr to get approval and new panels installed and months after that for the now 2 systems to work. I protested about having 2 systems verses adding to the first to no avail. The new system required duplication of all boxes across my poolside wall and thus twice as ugly as before. Also I now have 2 separate solar billings verses one...when you add the Edison bill ...3 electric bills. Last year I found that the solar panels did not produce enough power to keep Edison out of the picture and ended up owing Edison 900 dollars on top of what I paid Vivint for power for the year. I was told I would have a system installed quickly which would more than serve my needs. The company did not keep this verbal agreement and now declares that this IS the final product...a system that is inadequate (from July through September the overage in power needs which solar can not provide is billed to Edison)....even though Vivint knew my prior usage needs and yet twice provided me with inadequate panels to meet these needs. My overall usage of power has not gone up either so the company should have been able to keep their promise to provide at least all that I needed and likely more.. I am on a fixed income and this nightmare may well cause me to end up having to sell my home as the outgoing electric expense is now more than I used to pay and I had hoped for savings. Basically, the company promises the moon during sales process but is very slow and incompetent in this delivery and then ignores all your quite reasonable complaints about unfulfilled verbal ( verbal agreements are legally binding by the way) promises and then claims the company NEVER promised to meet all your power needs or to save you money verses local power company. This ends up being a trap and the company is quite unethical in my opinion and in the mind of any reasonable observer. My last hopes at some justice with the cynically named "Resolution Manager" did not pan out and I am left with an underpowered 2 solar systems (with two separate bills) which company refuses to add needed panels to), bills which in total are higher than before with Edison and a company who on the surface at least states that they have done nothing wrong. Stay away from Vivint.

I hope anyone comsidering solar sees this review. Please really investigate this company. Read their bad BBB ratings. Search their contractor state license board complaints. Search the comments on all Vivint pages you can find on Facebook and google. I hope you read about all of the customers who rate Vivint with a F, one star, and have had their lives ruined by Vivint. I am one of them. $367,000 in damages to my home. You will find others like me if you search. Go to Vivint Victims on Facebook and read customers stories. For me Vivint is the worst and most dishonest company I have ever dealt with. They have ruined my home, and devasted us. I hope one day they are criminally prosecuted when how they really great customers comes out.

Vivint Solar talks a good story during the sales pitch. However, after installing the solar panels the local office THEN goes to corporate to get corporates permission to "turn on" the service. There is a big disparity between what the local office says has taken place concerning all the necessary paper work and contacting the local energy provider (PG&E). Vivint says they informed PG&E about the installation when it happened, oh, and by the way, your paperwork has been forwarded to corporate for approval. Two months post panel installation PG&E says they knew nothing about the panel installation. I had to make a "observation" email to the CA PUC to get things moving. So be prepared to wait 4 to 6 months post panel installation before you can "turn the system on".

Lets just start by saying that I very seldom leave a bad review, but this company is TERRIBLE! Better hope whoever comes to install your panels is competent! Mine were not, & as a result I now have a major leak that required completely tearing up my master bath. Good news is, they sublet contractors that also damage your house & try to get away with not even finishing the job! My first call to Vivint to report my WATER DAMAGE was 1/23/17… it's 5/11/17 & it still is not fixed. My house smells like mildew. I am trying to sell my house & have been held hostage for 4 months. Every time they make another mistake, my appointments are a minimum of 3 weeks out. Finally called to tell them I am done & they are refusing to remove the panels & refusing to let me speak to the next person above them. HORRIBLE customer service. I have 2 options: I can buy them out (NOT A CHANCE!) or transfer when I sell & torture the new home owners. DON'T DO IT!! These people are morons & you will jeopardize your sanity.

I have had my 23 panel system online since August 2015. In February of 2016 I noticed my cumulative energy charge from Sothern Calif. Edison had risen to over $200. I called Vivant to see why and they sent someone out to find only half of my panels were not working due to a bad connector in the wiring. They fixed it and left. No explanation or apology. The same thing happened again in March of this year exactly like last year but worse. When I signed up with them I was told they will monitor the system and catch any possible problems remotely. This was not the truth. I was also told I would be able to have an APP on my phone to see my systems production. Another lie. No one has called or contacted me to explain why their cheap panels and connectors keep failing. Two years in a row now. 2 for2.I don't recommend doing business with these people. I'm screwed for 20 years!! No customer service here. Not at all what they represented when they sold me the goods. No paper work left by the technicians and no one called to see if all was ok. Very disappointed.

Presentation was not high pressure but informative by Kevin C. He kept me informed thru all steps of the process.. Installers were on time, let me know what they were doing and why, and work was completed very efficiently.

I had an additional room added to my house. I paid 499.00 to Vivint to remove several panels for the construction. First it took Vivint 1 1/2 months to remove the panels on December 16, 2016. They kept the service off due to the panels that were removed. I have been in contact with the fleet, customer service to try and get the panels reinstalled. As of January 2017, I have been trying to get the panels reinstalled to no Avail. I spoke to a supervisor, who stated that any charges made by SCE in excess will be reimbursed by Vivint. Since that was via phone, I wont get my hopes up. . I don't know what else to do. I've called and spoke to a number of people, most of which were very nice. But it's April 17, 2017 and I still don't have the panels reinstalled. I'm researching my contract and I will be seeking legal advised to fire you guys. You are horrible. By the way the panels are still sitting where your employees placed them, they have now been rained on and weeds have grown all over them. when can I expect service from you you guys when will you reinstall my panels? It has been 3 1/2 months now.

Answered a door salesman. Heard their whole spiel and wanted to get more info. After a week, went forward with planning and had the guy come out and measure. Quick and easy. Then came the waiting. Waited 3 months to get the plans sent via email and outlined everything. Signed off the quote (*not the sheet to start construction). Waited another 5 months to hear from guy saying, "Yeah...still working on it." Waited another 4 months with no call. Then comes the surprise comes the 5th month with, "Oh you need a new electrical panel. We've set-up a contractor to come out and install everything next month." WAIT....WHAT?!?! DON'T EVER REMEMBER SIGNING FOR THAT...EVER! Shady company and when you call their "Customer Service Line", you get endless ringtones and computer crap. NOT WORTH IT!

Signed on when a salesman came by our house. Setup an install date, then they cancelled. Setup another one, where I took a day out of work so they could do the interior electrical work- they didn't send an electrician with the crew. I was going to cancel the install, then they "found" an electrician able to come by to do the needed work. During the install, they left wire and conduit pieces all around my yard, which my dogs loved to find. They also put out their cigarette butts on my NEWLY PAINTED DECK which they then had to pay to have repainted. After install, took forever for them to turn the system on as they needed to take pics to send to National Grid for safety. Techs came out 4 times over 4 mos (supposedly) but they never had enough/right pics to submit. One time showed up unannounced, w/out company clothes on and scared my wife half to death walking around our yard. Interestingly, they started auto-billing me- and auto-DEBITING me- BEFORE the system was turned on. When I pointed this out, they said they would take care of it. Following month- same thing. They said their computer calculates how much electricity is generated based upon sun exposure. I asked how much "sun exposure" a NON-FUNCTIONAL SYSTEM could generate. I am now, after several certified letters, awaiting a response from them as to how to proceed to arbitration to void our contract as they are completely untrustworthy and TOTALLY incompetent. I sent them the first certified letter in May 2016 stating I was turning the system off. They still contact me asking why they aren't receiving billing info from the system. Incompetent...

We live I Leonardtown Maryland. The salesman Joe, lied , flat out lied to us about the entire set up. They insulated the old panels, ran conduit all over our roof when they can run it through your attic, a tool fell off my roof cracking my deck, left scrape all over my bushes, grass and cement for our new puppy to eat. We were told you have until the system goes live to cancel. We canceled yesterday were told today it can go live and we should have canceled 3 days after instalation, now we are stuck. Furious also, a neighbor has a text from Joe offering 1K to them and we were never offered anything. I would save up and purchase your own!!!!!

I'm not totally happy with Vivint. I wish I would have searched more. I am locked into a 30yr contract at one cent below Local Providers Tier 1 rate=.15/kwh. Watch out for their contract. My sales rep told me "yes", when I asked him if we weren' satisfied it'll be removed for 499.00. He said "yes". However he didn't say "if we bought out the system it'll cost you $180,000", like the contract said. My bills aren't hardly any lower than pg&e. They bill you on what you produce. Not what you use. Shop around and make sure you Know exactly what your system will do and how long on your house n how you are charged/billed. Good luck

Sales associate unwilling to go forward with estimate unless credit was pulled first. No where in their promotion does it state that this is a requirement to obtain an estimate. He insisted ti was a requirement or he could not proceed. It certainly isnt law and may be a company policy but one that will certainly affect a credit score which he stated it would not - also not accurate. Beware of any company that wishes to obtain personal information that aggressively up front before being willing to tell you in full what they provide and what the amount is they will charge, or finance. This may not be the sales associates fault, however, he is the face of the company they have presented to me.

Do not go forward with Vivint unless you have EVERYTHING in Writing - that includes the installation date. You can't go by their word because Vivint will just deny everything that was said verbally. My salesman in upper Westchester, KG, told me the install date was cancelled. He told me not to worry, he would take care of it. He told me he was there to work for the customer. Then Vivint came out and installed on the date I had cancelled with him. Of course I wasn't home - I was at work. (Even though KG told me I had to be at home at the time of installation. My wife, who was home at the time, sent me a text. I immediately emailed the Salesman that there must be a mistake, and he should stop the installers and contact me. I also decided to call Vivint. I told them KG told me the install was canceled. IF I had to , I would drive home and throw stop the install myself. Get them off the roof. Vivint told me they would try to contact them and they would let me know. I sent other emails to the Salesman, as I didn't have his number at work, or on my cell, but he never got back to me. I was nervous and decided to call Vivint back. They told me that the install had been cancelled. *WHEW* They told me that I would need to call 1-800- blah blah to re-schedule the installation. I thought Crisis adverted!! No, this is just the beginning... When I got home from work I found out that the install had been completed!!!!! Turns out that when the Salesman saw my emails, he decided (instead of contacting me) to just go to my house and get the installation done as quick as possible. My wife who had met the salesman once, or twice; when he was doing his sales pitch, thought that she could trust him when he said - "We are here to do the install. I told your husband I would baby-sit the install for him." (or words to that affect). When it was finished she mentioned that she thought it was cancelled. KG, (with installers standing by) told my wife she had to sign off because it was already done. Vivint is the worst, how could they get away with doing business like this? It could jut be the Elmsford NY office, but after reading reviews online, I don't think so. You are better off going with another Solar Provider, OR if you do like Vivint...make sure there is nothing discussed verbally only in emails. I have some emails to back me up.

We are very disappointed with Viviint solar, we have issues with squirrels hibernate under our panels, multiple calls to resolve issues, at first we were assured they would place animals guards to avoid any damages , even had a representative out to access the problem, next thing, they advise it would cost us to install it, before contract was signed, we were assured they would maintain panels and place whatever is needed to protect their panels and we'll a our roof. They blow us off our calls, never call back to date no resolutions, its now time to contact the better business bureau to file complaint. This is so disgusting as we had our neighbors to sign up , give company referrals for business, this is no way to treat your customers. We would like to remove panels & out of contract for misrepresentation their services. As retired on fix income makes this impossible.

This is the worst company that I have ever done business with. What they tell you and what they do are too different things. They do not do maintenance on the panels, they tell you that is your responsibility, I am 70 year old women and how do they expect me to do that. They don't tell you when you sign that it is a 20 year contract, and that you also have a regular power bill, besides theirs. Since I have had them, my power bill has doubled and they could care less.I have tried to get more panels so it would take care of everything, but they say no, you have all we can give you, which does not even take care of half. I intend on writing a letter to President Trump, to let him know how this company is using old people to get rich.

A representative of VIVINT SOLAR knocked my door, offering a special program in NJ For Solar panels in my house 100 % free of charge. They told me that my electricity expense will reduced to 50% of my actual bill with PSEG And I will have even credit on my account. After one year of putting the panels, PSEG put a new meter and the next month VIVINT SOLAR Star it to take money from my account without any authorization and sending me an extra bill for service. I sent them a letter asking to stop the service because I can't pay two bills for electricity And they reply that I have to pay if not, they removed the panels and I will have to pay then $ 30,000 VIVINT SOLAR never told me that I have to pay anything; they told me that I will save money in my PSEG bill about 50%. However I get now the same amount with PSEG about $ 150 plus $100 from VIVINT SOLAR and nobody Come to my house to read the meter. This company never told me that I have to pay anything and I did not sign any agreement with them and never advise me of any charges whatsoever.
