I have had my Vivint solar for 3 years now. My energy bill has gone up and my year true ups ridiculous no matter what I do. I've complained several times and all they do is shuffle me around different so called customer service people. I last dealt with a Jennifer from Utah, she sent someone out who left a note that said "system is underperforming". I've since called her and left vm's 3 times, and no return call. This company is not interested in customer service! Please do not use them. I wish I had checked reviews before signing a contract.

I am having a problem with customer service and Sales People that lie to you. My system was down for 6 weeks durring the summer and they never knew about it despite the sales man telling me that "we would know about a problem before you ever do". I get answers like we have too many people to monitor every system or it's your fault for not checking it! Stay away! Everything they promised was a lie!!

not very happy with vivint. will send an indepth review later. does vivintt ever read their cookie cutter responses. the same wording to every review. you guys should check them. I get the same robotic responses when I call. I think your customer service people make up their own answers. like magicians smoke and mirror answers!

My name is Rosa I have 30 Vivant panels on my home in Madera CA and for the last 3 years these panels have not worked sufficiently. Vivant breached there contract but even with the numerous hours I wasted dealing with them. They refuse to remove there junk panels. I now have an attorney but before I file suit I suggest to everyone file your complaints Better Buisness Bureau, Social Media, even the Media. Class Action Lawsuit Time for these thieves

When we signed our power purchase agreement mid 2018, we asked several times about a backup battery. Our sales person flat out lied to us (when you call Vivint they apologize for the miscommunication). We were told that a battery was available but was not approved by California but not to worry as we could get it installed when one was available. Well, one is available and we are now being told that it can only be installed when the system is installed. What liars!!! What a fraud!!!

Salesperson rude, condescending, unprofessional, and certainly made comments that you should be ashamed to have had him represent your company. A 90 year old man , who does not own the house, of which the salesperson was told, was being solicited to buy product. I, the owner of the house was notified by family, as I own the home. I asked him how to spell name of company and he told me “I was a big girl and could look it up myself@ I told him to get off the property. If that is how prospective customers, you need to be out of business!!!!

One of the worst moves I have ever made was to sign up with Vivint. The salesman lied about savings(There isn't any), pricing and customer service. Installed in Feb '18 and finally running in May '19. Spoke to someone about my roof leaking after installation. It is Sept '19 and still have not received any response from company. My electric bills are now at least $60.00 a month more than when I just had UI. I HAVE NOW SHUT THE SOLAR OFF

I WISH I COULD LEAVE A ZERO STAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AWFUL COMPANY, DON'T DO IT. THEY SUPPOSEDLY INSPECTED THE ROOF AND SAID IT WAS FINE TO INSTALL SOLAR. WELL SHORT TIME LATER, I NEED A NEW ROOF AND NOW THEY WANT $2,900 TO TAKE THE PANELS OFF AND RE-INSTALL THEM, AFTER I WAS TOLD IN THE BEGINING IT WOULD BE AROUND $500. I AM CONTACTING THE ATT. GENERAL'S OFFICE AND THE BBB AND ANYONE ELSE TO GET THIS DAMAGING CRAP OFF OF MY ROOF. THEY TOTALLY MIS-REPRESENTED THEMSELVES AND LIED ABOUT THE ROOF. EITHER THERE INSPECTOR WAS A MORON OR THEY LIED TO ME.

Worst customer service experienced ever. No one answers the phone and no one calls back if you leave a message. The power offset that was promised is not there. My electric bill remains the same amount of usage with or without the system. I can't get any help from anyone because all they care about is if their system is running so they can collect their payments. They have zero interest in helping me get the system working properly.

Once equipment was installed it took two months to get it activated. They do not send bills on time, but give you a hard time if you don't pay on time. They prefer deduction directly from your account rather than Bill. If given a choice, I would not recommend Vivint Solar to my worst enemy, and definitely not a friend or relative.

Just found out our system has been offline since May of 2018. Yes - that's year 2018. With absolutely no notification from Vivent. Hit with exorbitant PG&E - NEM charges that I cannot get rectified. Asked for verification if actual production from panels ever really went into the grid -- No Vivent response. Re-requested email verification -- No Vivent response. Still waiting for a technician to come fix the problem. What a nightmare.

Wow, so surprised their replies to reviews are so quick.....been waiting to operate over a year and half!!! With summer almost over they haven’t been helpful at all. All I get are excuses.....and that’s when I call because after the panels were installed they quit calling me! No updates period! I could never have a good Conscience if I were to refer them, but that’s NOT going to EVER happen.

SELLING YOU STUFF is their ONLY GOAL. go someplace else. I have 40 panels from these CROOKS who PROMISED ME that a battery backup is COMING REAL SOON. well, it's here BUT YOU CAN'T HAVE ONE BECAUSE we only put it on NEW SYSTEMS. SO, when there is a power failure or earthquake, I have FORTY PANELS THAT ARE USELESS. Oh, and NO ONE BUT Vivint can touch the system BY CONTRACT so I can't even have an outside company come and fix their STUPIDITY.

I don’t know where to begin, except that every state that allows Vivint Solar to do business in their state should be ashamed of themselves. Vivint misrepresents itself and it’s service on so many levels, there isn’t enough room in this box to list them all. Maura H, the Massachusetts Attorney General, should be at the top of the list. I worked with the AG’s office and Vivint for more than two years without getting any answers. How many reviews on this page alone have received “I’m sorry” from Vivint and nothing more. These reviews more than speak for themselves.

Worst company ever. They sold a bogus bill of goods to an 88 year old man, who passed away shortly after. We are selling the home, and have tried for a month to contact Vivant to cancel (as is our right), or even to find out about transferring service. Emails, unanswered phone calls, countless hours on hold and we are absolutely no further than when we started. We are now contacting the Attorney General. I am in real estate, so will make it a point to spread the word about Vivant. Never had problems with Solar City or any other companies for that matter.

If I could give them less than a 1 I would. My panels were installed on June 19th of 2018. As of today (April 8th 2019) I still do not have permission to operate my panels. Vivint tells me they are waiting on PG&E, but after 3 hours on the phone and numerous transfers through PG&E one of the supervisors tells me they still have not received the pictures from when Vivint installed the panels. Even worse, they don’t do anything to try to resolve the problem.

We had Vivint Solar install solar panels thinking solar power would be cheaper than paying PG&E here in California. Now we get a power bill from both Vivint AND PG&E and we pay much more than we did before the panels were installed. Also, the solar power system doesn't work without WiFi so that is an additional expense we didn't have before the panels. They also wired our power panel wrong so breakers switch off for no reason throughout the day and night leaving us in the dark. So far they have not fixed this ongoing problem. This is nothing but environmental extortion.

They are the worst!!!!! Iam so sorry I signed up with these crooks. Ever since I started with them , my true up, has been over a $1000 at the end of each year, while there rep assured me , not to be over 500. First they tell u all looks fine, but staying persitance, they finally fine a problem and have to give me a credit. Talking with a couple of there techs, they said they have never worked for a company with so many complaints!!!!!

I am very disappointed with Vivint Solar. I have called the company numerous times with questions that I never get a straight answer to. I was promised a lower rate with Vivint than what my electric company has, but it has not been lowered at all. It is not fair that I have to pay more than my electric company has. And I am not saving money like I was told I would. I have more than 30 panels..and my bill is higher now than it was before solar. So I will not recommend this solar company to anyone.

Agreed to solar placement in August 2018 . They were installed in September 2018 and still are not hooked up. After many calls and loss wages waiting for call backs, broken promises and out right lies; I'm still waiting. As a senior citizen I really feel scammed. They even told me that the Governor 's office was a part of the initiative. They also said that there was a monetary incentive and to date nothing. What's the recourse??? Help!!!

Please stay clear of this company. I cannot even give it 1 star! So A Big 0 it is. 6 years of extremely inadequate customer service to say the least. Sure we saved some money, but the lies, the no show, the leaks on our roof are not worth it by any stretch. From year 1 we've had numerous visits to rectify problems. Only one was resolved. If you call them with a problem they may never call back. We are seniors that are being taken advantage of. We believe our only resource is hiring a lawyer to help us.

Hello. When I called for support, I was on hold for over 30 minutes. Then the woman that helped me was aggressive & rude. She hung on me after I consistently kept asking for a supervisor. I purchased the property on May 10th with the already solar panels however the system wasn't connected to APS until June 4th however Vivint wants to charge from the beginning. They should prorated the bill as I wasn't able to used it the system. So far I didn't received a print statement from them, they gave me the amount over the phone and I insisting on a writing statement. Today I am sending a complaint to the Attorneys General as reading all the complaints, they should stop them to do any more business in Arizona.

I am not at all satisfied with this agency. They didn't install enough panels, because of that I am not getting any saving in my energybill. Actually l am paying extra which is terrible. I contacted them several times and they are not responding to my issues , they are redirecting my calls to different departments. Be careful with their sales reps, they will tell you no cost of you and ask you to write $1 check and from there they collect money directly from your bank. So be careful dealing with them

I have been waiting since March for solar service. They have a consistent problem with paperwork and communication within. This company is way to slow in profiding decent customer service. If I could go back I would not choose this company for my solar needs. The reason they got two stars is that the contact people have been polite.

I can’t swear but fun horrible I’m using his name miles told me my system was done only a week like I’m an idiot then denied it to my wife 4 inverters out had to wait till spring for a fix and said they don’t compensate for utililiy payments made which really sucks all in all worst decision and my wife’s nephew works for them and asked about snow guards before someone or my dog gets killed and he said we never mentioned it another lie just sucks all the way around

Don't even consider. There is nothing good in getting involved with this company. It's all bad. I only operated the solar for 2 months at no savings. I put my house up for sale and it won't sell with this contract. I can't transfer it because I was thinking of AZ and they say no to that. These things the salesman don't tell you. Salesman came to my door and stated he was from our electric company and wanted to save us money. I saw his Vivent id tag and called him out on it. I told him I wasn't interested. He was very pushy and asked me for a copy of my electric bill and wanted to enter my house. I asked him to leave. What's the matter, telemarketing does not work anymore??? Now they go door to door???

I signed up for Vivint Solar in February 2017, with the promise that I would be billed at Edison Tier one levels. Unbeknownst to me Tier billing was scheduled to end July 2017. Vivint moved slowly through the installation process, completing the project at the end of August 2017. I am now being billed at Time of Day billing which is much more expensive than Tier One billing. I'm not saving any money,

Salesman came to our door uninvited. They came by 3 times. The last time I told them I was not interested 6 times. But they just kept on telling me how much I would save on my power bill. They told me 50% savings however there cost per kilowatt hour was 11 cents and I pay 14 cents per kilowatt hour now. So I guess they took me for a fool. I told them I was getting upset with there high pressure sales and they staid another hour. I was so relieved when they finally left my home.

The best thing I did with Vivent solar was to buy out the system and get them out of the equation for my home. I would highly recommend to buy a solar system and NOT lease one even if the lease company is perfect. The lease company puts a lean on your house. At the end of the 20 year lease you own nothing and they still have you hand cuffed with the lean. Worse even, most people do not want to assume this bad lease when you go to sell hour house.

Don’t believe the Sales People with this company. I didn’t want Solar to begin with but the Sales Rep made sense. So we got installed and all was great. 4 months later and panels aren’t turned on and my first payment came out of my bank account. The sales rep is no where to be found and Vivint interconnection team can not get their stuff together for the paperwork the electric company is asking for .. so learn from me ... save the aggravation and don’t do it.

Horrible experience with Vivint. They authorized and signed a contract with a tenant of my house without consulting the owners (me) and installed a system on my roof. Proving to customer solutions that the installation was illegal and should immediately be removed, they are no longer returning my calls or emails and are absolutely dragging their feet to remove system. I may have to sue the company for damages to my home just to get the system removed from my house.

First off i purchased my system. The install went great and the system produces more than i expected. I give them 1 star for the monitoring of the system. Like i said i bought my system, but Vivint Solar will not allow me to monitor the individual performance of the panels, just the overall system performance. When asked for the access to monitor by panel I am told that while i own my system they own the monitoring rights....hmmm

Very disappointed in this company! Sales rep lied said there was no catch and that we would be saving money! Said we woukd only be paying SCE to use the meter... HECK NO! We got a huge bill ($1000) at the end of the year plus we pay Vivint monthly... how the heck is that saving money? My SCE bill was cheaper before these solar panels! Wish there was a way to take them off! Never received a written contact from her and when asked she would go around the subject! Will not recommended Vivnt to anyone!!

Awful customer service! Salesman lied to me sold me a huge system That would take care of all of our electrical needs plus some haha! But he did not tell me my electric company Has a net metering cap and will only buy my electric back at wholesale price so my bill should only go down about 50%!!!!! They don’t call you back I have called,text, Emailed and used social media to try to get answers and help! Wish I never did business with this company!

Worst costumer service! Their panels left a 3 leaks in our roof, it took them 6 months to fix, it has now been a year and they have yet to put all the panels back on. We have a huge pg&e bill every month and Viviant refuses to compensate our pg&e bill until all panels are back on but they keep procrastinating on getting all the panels back on. Every department continues to transfer us back and forth and every supervisor is always busy. Worst experience ever!!

Vivnat sold solar to my elderly parents said they would qualify for the rebates knowing they were on social security. They were also told they could sell their home and sell the solar to knew buyer. Well we just found out the solar is $90k they get no rebate obviously and now they have to sell the home and pay them $45k an attorney is now involved.

We have not had not one good experience with vivint solar nothing but problems from the time we signed up we have had the solar system a little over a year and it was down for 4 months the communication sucks I ask them to call and no one does we were told if our system went down we would get compensation when it’s down and did not happen nothing has happened that we were promised

Horrible horrible experience. The sleaze bag representative completely lied to us and now we are trying to find a way to remove or buy our panels so we can sell our house. The guy told us that they will remove the panels if we go to sell the house and it would void the contract... Big big lie. He had us sign electronically and didnt provise us a copy. He pulled a fast one on us complete with a bold faced lie. The company also messed up our roof tiles and blew our pg&e metwr during installation. Do not use them. Stick to pg&e. It was actually cheaper for us to not have solar.
