The Good

  • Simple Solar Process
  • Quick Installation
  • Covered Maintenance and Repairs
  • Moving Options
  • Positive V3 Reviews

Simple Solar Process

V3 Electric strives to make switching to renewable energy as simple and straightforward as possible for its customers. The process begins with a professional consultation, during which a trained surveyor will visit the property and take readings to evaluate energy consumption, shading risk, how to ensure maximum energy efficiency.

After that, the customer chooses from the following payment options: purchase, loan, lease, or PPA. Then, the surveyor's observations are sent to the design team for final plans and permits. When the system has cleared this process, installation begins.

Quick Installation

Once V3 Electric gets approval from the customer's city or county, the company will call to schedule the solar installation. Typically, a crew of 4 to 6 installers will be at the home for 1 to 2 days. Once installed, V3 Electric works to get the system interconnected with the grid, after which it becomes fully operational.

Covered Maintenance and Repairs

Following a thorough roof inspection, V3 Electric provides its customers with a warranty that covers system maintenance and repairs for 20 years (unless otherwise stated in the contract; the company advises referring to the sales rep or contract if in doubt). Solar panels very rarely require maintenance, but the company will monitor each system's production around the clock and if it notices something wrong, it will schedule an appointment to come fix it.

Moving Options

If a customer needs to move while under contract, a simple transfer of utility will take place free of charge to the new homeowner. Several studies have shown that adding solar to your home immediately adds value to your home and can actually help it sell faster, and many potential buyers recognize the value in lowering their power bill.

Positive V3 Reviews

As of July 2022, nearly 90 percent of the verified V3 reviews posted to Best Company have awarded the solar company a perfect five-start rating. V3 Electric customers report helpful customer service from the V3 team, professionalism from the roof contractors, and actual year-end solar savings. Customers that combine solar energy storage with a solar panel system from V3 Electric also report higher satisfaction ratings, and fewer power outages.

The Bad

  • Limited Availability

Limited Availability

Currently, V3 Electric is only available in California. The company has offices El Dorado Hills, Dublin, Yuba City, Vacaville, Rancho Cucamonga, and Victorville, as well as warehouses in Northern and Southern California. Promoting verified V3 Electric reviews can be an effective way for the solar company to stand out amid a crowded and competitive solar market.

F MC Sacramento, CA

Be very careful if you decide to purchase your solar system from V3. I made that decision the past September after giving it almost a year, I have a $20,000 system on my roof and see very little change to my SMUD bill. The sales rep was a fellow named Leo who bordered on incompetence. As I was waiting for work to start, many weeks into the process I received a $4,000 change order. According to their Customer Service Department, Leo knew about the change order for five weeks but failed to send it to me, when I received it via an email from the company, I immediately called Leo to find out what was going on. He immediately tossed his customer service department under the bus and blamed them. I realized I have made a mistake in selecting V3. When I called Leo’s manager, a fellow named Dante, he told me what a great guy Leo is. I am not looking for a friend, I was looking for a competent sales person to manage this project. Their Customer Service department was always very responsive, but when it came to getting the system up and running apparently they have not worked with SMUD enough to know their requirements and delayed the system being turned on. How is it you sell solar products and do not have a complete understanding the requirements of the local utility? Now the system is up and running, my SMUD bills haven’t some much of a decrease. Working with their Customer Service Department I sent them a copy of a current SMUD bill and they told me they would like to monitor the system. This was back in May. My recent requests with a copy of current SMUD bills have gone unanswered. I understand things are challenging due to COVID-19, but not to respond in any fashion is unacceptable. So now I have a $20,000 investment in a solar system seems to be woefully under engineered to handle my electrical needs. I did everything right with the exception of choosing the right company. If you are looking for a company to handle your Solar purchase, please heed my cautionary tale and look elsewhere. Unless they ever decide to get back to me with some help as getting my solar system to supply the power they promised, I would say avoid this company at all costs. If they are still in business and decide to fix this for me, their customer I willl update this review.
