Sun and Done LLC started in 2020 in California and is an intermediary to provide customers with top-rated solar install options. Customers can use Sun and Done’s website to enter their home address and the company will gather necessary information and put together a quote for a solar solution. After customers provide Sun and Done with a recent utility company bill, the company will present customers with quotes from installers. Sun and Done functions as a solar broker.

The Good

  • Virtual Solar Quotes

Virtual Solar Quotes

Sun and Done LLC offers customers the ability to learn about going solar without needing to put the job out to bid. Sun and Done will do the dirty work and send quotes to the customer to review in the comfort of their homes.

Install Recommendations

Sun and Done select solar install companies that have a 4-star or 5-star rating to recommend to customers. Its recommendations all have workmanship and roof penetration warranties. The details of these warranties are not provided.

The Bad

  • Young Company
  • Contracted Sales Team

Young Company

Sun and Done is a new company that is based on the concept that most consumers need a company to do background research work for them.

As a rule of thumb, we recommend using providers that have five years of experience in the solar industry.

Experience and time in business are crucial considerations when sorting through solar contractors. Established, well-trained companies are less likely to cut corners and will provide an all-around better experience for clients. Sun and Done is too young to meet our standards for a recommendation.

Contracted Sales Team

Sun and Done is a broker that sells suggestions of installers; it does not do any labor and is not experienced in solar installation.

The Bottom Line

Sun and Donedoes not offer the qualifications of a business we would recommend to our customers. First, there is too much ambiguous information on its website: does Sun and Done buy the materials and hire the installation company itself; does it carry a warranty policy; how does it guarantee the workmanship of a company that it found online to recommend, what company does the customer actually pay money to, etc.?

Due to a lack of reviews, company details, certification status, and critical background company information we would recommend steering clear of this solar broker. Often adding another service provider in the workstream means the customer is paying money to a service it does not necessarily need.

Converting to solar energy is a large investment, and we recommend looking for a company that has been around five years or more, has many positive reviews, and has a portfolio of past projects showing quality work and experience in the industry.
