Rectify Solar was established in 2013 and has offices in Indianapolis and Ellettsville, Indiana and Campbell, California. It is a family-owned business run by co-founders Phil and Frank Teague.

In addition to its focus on quality work, Rectify Solar has several key certifications including from the lead industry group the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP).

It is also partnered with Pearl Certification, a national firm that qualifies a network of professionals who certify high-performing homes that are healthy, comfortable, resilient, and energy efficient. Only the top 5 percent of solar contractors in the country qualify to certify their work with Pearl, so this helps Rectify Solar stand out from its competitors.

Because Rectify Solar works with Pearl, any installations that it does will be documented and certified by an independent third party. Its co-founders have also won several awards including the 2019 Energy News 40 Under 40 Award.

Focus on Environmental Impact

The company's owners are dedicated to solar energy and believe in the positive impact it can have on our planet. Many solar companies have been created recently to take advantage of federal and state income tax credits and make money; the environmental benefits fall to the side.

Rectify Solar promotes energy efficiency and reduction in carbon emissions through solar installations as well as other products such as battery systems, electric vehicle charging stations, insulation, roofing, and more.

Impressive Certifications

Rectify Solar has pursued impressive industry certifications. This demonstrates its commitment to quality work. The company claims that both co-founders are NABCEP Advanced certified; however, we were unable to verify this in the NABCEP directory which was unusual.

Phil Teague, a Rectify Solar co-founder, is a Board Member of the Indiana Renewable Energy Association (InREA). In addition to the company's Pearl partnership that we described above, it is also a certified installer with several large companies such as Generac and Lumos.

Solar Industry Experience

It has completed over 750 solar installations and has years of experience. This is not a startup solar company that is just looking to make quick profits.

Rectify Solar has over eight years of experience. Its co-founders both have impressive backgrounds in the solar energy industry which lends confidence in their expertise.

For example, Frank Teague started installing PV systems with one of the top solar installation companies in the United States. He installed around 500 systems in three years with that company before starting Rectify Solar.

Solar System Gallery

Rectify Solar has a large selection of photographs from its past projects and installations on its website. While it doesn't have many online customer reviews, these examples of its past work are helpful to clients considering Rectify Solar for their PV system installation.

Financing Options

There isn’t a lot of information about the financing that Rectify Solar offers, but the company's website does say that it is available. Some smaller solar companies do not have financing options available, so this is a great feature of Rectify Solar. It offers zero down financing for any energy efficiency upgrade when paired with a solar installation.

The Bad

  • Limited Company Reviews
  • No Details on Equipment Brands

Limited Company Reviews

Very few Rectify Solar reviews can be found online. This is unusual considering how long it has been in business. While there are only a few customer reviews to be found, they are overwhelmingly positive. Nonetheless, a larger sample size is needed to accurately judge the company's commitment to customer satisfaction.

If you've worked with Rectify Solar, please consider leaving a review below.

No Details on Equipment Brands

Many solar companies will list the panel, inverter, and battery brands that they typically install. This allows customers to know upfront what brands they are likely to work with and gives them time to research their options. Rectify Solar doesn't provide this information on its website.

The Bottom Line

Rectify Solar has been in business for over eight years and is led by a team of experienced solar power installers who are passionate about the benefits of PV systems. This passion is apparent in the years of industry experience they have and the certifications they have pursued.

Rectify Solar stands out from competitors with its excellent warranties and financing options; however, we would like to see a larger number of customer reviews online in order to accurately gauge what quality of services offered prospective customers can expect when working with this solar provider.

Mike Indy Indianapolis, IN

They consulted with me instead of selling to me. Very knowledgeable. It felt like I became part of their family. Their price was very competitive and they use the best quality products on the market. Would strongly recommend.
