Quality Equipment

PosiGen installs solar panel equipment from Silfab. Silfab solar panels sport an efficiency rating of just over 19 percent — for context, most solar panels fall in the range of 15 to 20 percent, with the industry leaders achieving as high as 22 to 23 percent. Additionally, Silfab solar panels come with an extended performance guarantee of 30 years, meaning the system will still produce sufficient solar power throughout its lifetime.

The solar energy company also sources its solar inverters through SolarEdge, the industry leader in solar inverter technology. SolarEdge's inverters average about 98 percent energy efficiency between the solar energy gathered by the solar panels and the electricity produced in the home. 

Solar Roofing Options

If you need to replace your roof prior to your solar installation, solar roofing is an option worth looking into. PosiGen offers DecoTech and Timberline solar shingles installed by GAF Master Elite Certified Roofers. Most solar companies do not offer this newer technology as part of their product and service offerings. 

Lease or Purchase

PosiGen offers two different payment models to help save on your utility bill: lease and purchase.

With a lease, PosiGen will install, maintain, and monitor the system at no upfront cost to you. Leases are a good option for customers who would like to save money on their electric bills each month but do not qualify for incentives or want the responsibility of owning a solar installation themselves. Credit score and income verification are not required for a 25-year lease agreement and system monitoring and maintenance are included for the life of the lease. 

PosiGen says it will not recommend you enter a solar lease unless the company can guarantee you will save on your monthly energy costs in the first year after system activation. 

Customers who are looking into renewable energy as an investment and would like to see a nice return will want to go the purchase route via cash or loan. Purchasing a solar system results in the ability to take advantage of tax credits and rebates. PosiGen gives an estimated upfront cost starting at $13,000, but your particular cost will depend on your location, property size, sunlight potential, and other factors. 

Moving Options

PosiGen Solar Solutions provides a few different options for its customers in case they need to move while still under contract. The new homeowner can take on the agreement along with all obligations, Posigen can relocate the solar power system for a flat fee of $750, or you can cancel your lease and have the equipment removed for a flat fee of $600.

The fact that you are allowed to cancel your contract at any time and only have to pay a fraction of the system cost is quite generous of PosiGen and should be recognized as a unique benefit.

Online Monitoring

PosiGen provides web-based system monitoring for 12 years for solar system purchases and for the lifetime of the system for leasing customers. 

A monitoring system allows customers to see their savings, energy storage, and system performance in real-time to assess how much energy their system is producing, as well as how much they are using. This helps customers to make any necessary corrections in a timely manner, cut back on their consumption if needed, and save even more money.

My Rep, Jesse, and he would check in with me once or twice a month just so I would stay updated on the process. He was responsive to my phone calls. He would call me back very promptly and he always kept me very informed of the whole of the whole thing. The price point that for th capacity of the system that I was getting was the best quote that I had received. The sales reps were very upfront and honest about the process and the costs and certain steps that I could take to increase the capacity of my system. They included that in the quote, which other companies did not and we're charging more.

My representative, "Charlie," was very responsive and was able to get my solar panels installed pretty quickly. One of the questions below asks how long from time of signing contract did it take to install. My actual answer is more than 9 months. No fault of Charlie's. The initial representative that came to my house, no longer worked for the company. I was left hanging. I ran into Charlie at my cousin's house. Explained my situation to him, and he did some research, took me on and my panels were installed within 2 months! I still leave a 5 star rating, solely because of Charlie!

Starting with sales, and continuing thru installation, the entire process was handled very professionally and in an organized manner. But the best part is that since I received my 1st bill (April 2023) I have had a credit from the electric company (Eversource) each month (Mar thru June) for a total 3 month credit of approximately $600 - and that is with me using about 16,000kWh pers year which was costing me about $5,000 per year. So I strongly recommend speaking to Posigen if you are considering solar.

So far no issues. The process is long and tedious. Too many inspections and some of them are done for the same thing. For example I had a company come out to do an inspection. They noted that I needed insulation in my attic. Then another company came and it was for another inspection and came to the same conclusion, that I needed insulation. All this took about 2 months before they finally did the insulation.

The package was good, I didn't get charged anything for any updates on electricity. It was just great. They were kind of slow in getting the whole system going because the panels were sitting up there for two months before I actually got everything working. That was probably partially the town's fault. They had to OK the utilities.They came on time and everything was done pretty much to the schedule. It was good.

They took me through the process from beginning to end, step by step, informing me of where they're at and what are they doing and how is everything going. You can see the progress as it goes on throughout the project itself, I was never left on my own doubting what's going on. They came in early in the morning. About 6 hours later they were done. They came out and stalled it fairly quickly, but it took them about three months to activate it and I'm not sure why it took so long, but once they were activated, I was very pleased. Every time I called customer support they were able to give me an answer quickly. Very smooth. Initially when the crew came out, they looked up at my roof and they saw that I'd already had solar panels and they were wondering why they were there. So once we got that straightened out, they took those panels off and installed the new panels. Pretty much in the same day. I just got my first partial months electric bill and I had gone from several $100 a month down to about $89.00 a month. So I'm very pleased with that. They provided a very good product and installed it quickly and so far it's working very well.

There was some break in communication where I would have to call to find out what is the next step. Something would happen and then for three months nothing was happening and I had no idea why. So I just wish that the communication with the new customer especially would be better. I'm still waiting for right now for a link to be able to establish my own log in so I can see how the so our panels are doing. I cannot monitor this. I was told that I will get the link and I didn't, so I went online on my own and it seems like I cannot navigate to the website. This can be very well my mistake. Install went long, but it was fine. Anytime I have a question or a concern, there's always someone there to answer the phone, give me the answer I need, and make sure I'm completely satisfied. We were not supposed to have it installed until June or July, and I got a call several months earlier saying that permits and everything were approved. Smooth, as far as I know. They kept right on schedule and even bumped it up as much as they could to get get the solar relief energy into this home where my tenant has no money to spare. They were very good about calling me to give me the information I wanted. They were very patient about getting into the house. I have a tenant who who was reluctant to let them in, but they've been very attentive to the to this particular situation. Customer service is good. Installation was a problem. It was not done correctly, so it had to be redone. I think they need to be upfront with the installation and also be upfront with a lot of the selling points. They weren't very clear. The team who came did a very good job. Unfortunately, it was not complete. I had to reach out for a couple of other people to get a complete picture of what was going on. The salesman was very, very good. He said that there would be follow up from the company, which really didn't come through the way I expected.

The big issue we had with the installation process is they didn't clean up their mess. They left a lot of wires on the roof. They left a knife on the roof, they left stuff on the ground. They didn't hook up the actual connection box properly. So when they came out, they couldn't hook us up and that delayed us almost a month. Between inspections and everything that has to get done every time, it wasn't wonderful. The salesperson was great, but whenever we encountered problems, it just seemed like he had to reach out to a lot of people to get answers and like it was just hard to get answers sometimes.

I signed the purchase contract last year this time and the whole process took me more than a year to finish (the system is not activating yet). Several times the company submit the application with wrong parameters and the government/utility company denies the application and needs to resubmit. After a 9 month-long wait, finally I had my solar systems installed on my roof and then another long wait starts. I had my systems installed on April and right now almost three months gone, it is not activated yet. I called Posigen this Tuesday regarding my status and they told me they will follow up with the utility company and get the final approval ASAP and ensure me that I will receive the text/email update by Thursday. When I called in again on Friday, the representative told me that they have still not followed up with the utility company yet and let me wait for a longer time. The hottest season is almost over and my system is not running yet. If you are looking for a company that will finish all the process within a year, please avoid posigen and try some other companies because right now I don't know how long I still need to wait until my system will be running.

So far, so good. I was originally disappointed in time to activate, however I fell into the norm. Only 3 week delay. Panels look good and nearly indistinguishable from the road. Customer service for me very professional. I was sales rep 1st customer and he told me that he worked long and hard to get activated. My expectations aren’t super high, but if I save $50 a month, well $50 is $50. I’m paying about $135 prior to installation. I have a very large shade tree and that should even out savings, regardless.

My mother had solar installed by our sales consulate mike m, he originally knocked on my mother door she is elderly. Talked to my mother about the benefits of solar, she was interested and agreed to a meeting. One thing I liked was he asked my mother to have a family member or someone she trusted to be there also. Since she is elderly going over solar and signing contract with her would be a little shady, but he requested for someone to be at the meeting. The first meeting I couldn't make so he rescheduled around my schedule which I liked again also. The way he explained solar was a very easy to follow but went into much detail. I'm writing this review because I like mike ma's professionalism and honest constative approach to offering the benefits of solar. Posigen has the lowest rates in the industry and 20 locked in price, with winterization and state of ct home energy incentivizes. No other solar company does all these services with the lowest rate.

We still are not hooked up to Eversource for solar and someone from PosiGen was going to make a few calls to see what the hold up is but that was a few weeks ago. My husbands phone messages to PosiGen have gone unanswered. We’ll try to contact Eversource ourselves, but I’m letting you know now if I can find a solution instead of you I’m going to ask for 3 months of no payments and for it not to be put on the back end of the lease.
