The Good

  • Financing Options
  • Solar Ambassador Program
  • Tesla Powerwall
  • Solar Simplified Process

Financing Options

The GoSolar Power website gives information about the solar financing options available to purchase a solar power system. The site says that as long as a homeowner has a credit score above 650, they can purchase a solar system. GoSolar Power offers a variety of loans, including a PACE loan, and leasing options. The company uses Mosaic Solar Loan and Sunlight Financial to provide $0 down payment with a low fixed interest rate.

Under certain circumstances, GoSolar Power will even cover up to the first 3 months of a customer’s solar loan. The company does this because it is dedicated to bringing green and renewable energy to the world. Each customer will have to talk directly with their sales representative to determine if this is possible for their situation.

The GoSolar Power website also has information about solar incentives, such as net metering, state tax credit, and federal tax credit. Customers can use this resource to learn about what benefits they may qualify for.

Solar Ambassador Program

After a homeowner installs a GoSolar Power solar system, they can become a solar ambassador and refer their friends to GoSolar Power. If a customer’s referral purchases a GoSolar Power system, the customer will receive $500.

In addition to the referral program, solar owners will be enrolled in the Sunny Savings Program to earn free products and incentives, like a Google Nest Thermostat.

Tesla Powerwall

GoSolar Power is a licensed installer of the Tesla Powerwall. Claiming to be the best battery storage in the world, customers can use the Tesla Powerwall with their solar energy system to generate their own solar energy and store it with the Powerwall. The Powerwall detects grid outages and automatically becomes the main power source for a home. Using the Tesla Powerwall, homeowners can rely on their solar power to generate electricity when power from the grid goes out.

Solar Simplified Process

The GoSolar Power website details the company’s simplified process for going solar. Customers will still go through all the steps necessary to get a solar panel system with any company, but GoSolar Power strives to make all the steps as simple as possible. Customers can look at a frequently asked questions section of the website to get answers about each step of the process, from the consultation to solar installation to the final inspection.

The Bad

  • No Product Specifications

No Product Specifications

Since GoSolar Power works with other companies for solar panel installation, the company doesn’t have specifications for the products on its website. Customers won’t know about product quality or warranty until they receive the information from a sales representative. Many companies in the solar industry have warranties and other details about their solar equipment readily available, but GoSolar Power does not.

The Bottom Line

GoSolar Power offers great incentives, like the solar ambassador program, that can help customers earn some money for referring people to the company. Customers can choose from a few financing options and find information about the simplified solar process on the company website. GoSolar Power also offers the Tesla Powerwall as a way to store solar energy and improve the energy efficiency of a solar system. The company connects customers with local solar installers, so there are no product specifications or warranty information on the website.
