The Bad

  • Not a Direct Installer
  • No NABCEP-Certification
  • No Lease or PPA

Not a Direct Installer

As mentioned above, Entrust Solar is not a direct solar installer, but rather a facilitating company between solar customers and installing companies. For this reason, the homeowner experience is bound to vary depending on which solar installer has been selected to fulfill the agreed upon design.

Each solar company is unique in the products it uses, the system upgrades it provides (e.g. solar energy storage, EV charging, etc.), certifications it has earned, and warranties it applies to the system. Customers are encouraged to thoroughly research the chosen installing company before signing their service contract.

No NABCEP-Certification

While Entrust Solar has partnered with installers certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP), the company does not appear to hold its own certification from the board. The NABCEP sponsors some of the most respected and sought-after sales, design, and installation certification programs in the solar industry.

The lack of NABCEP certification, however, should not disqualify Entrust Solar from consideration; rather, customers are encouarged to read the lastest verified Entrust Solar reviews to get a full picture of the company's quality of service.

No Lease or PPA

While the solar company does offer a competitive solar loan financing option through Sunlight Financial, we cannot confirm whether Entrust Solar also provides the additional financing routes of solar leases and power purchase agreements (PPA), which represent a cost-effective alternative to traditional financing methods and free homeowners from the costs associated with solar array ownership.

The Bottom Line

Apart from the actual solar installation, Entrust Solar offers customers everything a homeowner might need to make an informed, empowered decision about going solar. This includes a helpful initial consultation, access to flexible financing options, and an expert-driven, custom solar design to maximize the home's output potential.

Customers should take note that the solar installation portion will be handled by one of Entrust Solar's fulfillment partners, so availability of system upgrades and warranty terms and conditions will vary depending on the installing company. We encourage potential Entrust customers to thoroughly research its partnership network to ensure they receive the best possible system they can afford.

I liked the Andy's punctuality for the appointment. He was so clear, respectful and he took the time to explain to me everything about going solar. I was so pleased to meet someone like him very professional and with great attitude.

ENTRUST SOLAR IS INDEED VERY TRUSTWORTHY. ****** Apologies for the length of this post. After interviewing 6 different Solar energy companies, I selected SunnyMac based on the specific panels and inverters they used and the skill of the young salesman. I signed a contract sometime during the spring. It took a very long time to get the final project design (number and layout of the solar panels) approved (probably not entirely SunnyMac's fault - just red tape) and even longer to get them installed. I still do not fully understand why. Anyway, months after the panels were installed and all permits approved, I tried contacting SunnyMac in October to find out what the hold up was. I got completely ghosted. While during the sales and design phase both the salesman and Project manager of SunnyMac were happy to text, talk and email me, now that they had gotten paid (by this time in early November I had already made 2 monthly payments, but still no Solar generation. Absolutely no response from Sunnymac to repeated attempts by phone text and email. At the end of November I finally called my Township to see if there were any more permits pending. I found out that indeed, there was one more "Certificate of Approval" that has been waiting for someone from Sunnymac to pick it up. I was furious that it had been sitting there or 2 weeks with no attempt by Sunnymac to pick it up. In brief, this is when Chris B (Owner and CEO) and Tiana P of Entrust Solar contacted me. I had never hear of the company and did not know that they were involved (they are actually the Parent sales company and are usually never involved after the sale which happened in June. Within a couple of days JCPL came out and swapped the meter and by Wednesday December 7, the system came on line and started generating power. I give ENTRUST SOLAR 5 stars and thank Chris and Tiana for getting my system up and running. While I am still angry at SunnyMac, it's great to know that there are still folks out there who care about the customers and go above and beyond to support them. Chris B: Thank you sir
