Full-Service Solar Installation Company

Eagle Point Solar provides expert-level assistance through every step of the solar installation process starting with a free solar analysis. The free solar analysis evaluates the homeowner’s needs, goals, and expectations, and evaluates the home’s previous 12 months of utility bill data to determine candidacy for solar.

Site assessment and design proposal

A site assessment follows, which includes all documentation needed to build a customized solar energy system: measurements and photos, condition of current electrical panel, roof pitch, shading concerns, and more. If the roof meets the Eagle Point Solar’s requirements, the company’s engineering team will design the system and proposal for the homeowner’s approval.

Permitting and education

Once the design is approved, Eagle Point Solar will secure the necessary permitting and utility paperwork to ensure everything is done according to code. The solar provider will also educate the homeowner on all relevant incentives, tax credits, and rebates that are available to them through ownership of a solar panel system.

Installation and inspection

The delivery and installation steps are next. Eagle Point Solar’s qualified team will efficiently construct the solar panel system, and arrange a final inspection with city officials.

System maintenance

Once the system is up and running, Eagle Point Solar will provide ongoing support and maintenance, accompanied by the solar installer’s five-year workmanship warranty. This includes regular inspections, cleaning, and repairs as needed.

NABCEP-Certified Installers

Eagle Point Solar currently employs more than a dozen NABCEP-certified solar technicians. The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners is an industry-recognized organization that produces the top certification programs in the country. Solar companies with this designation set themselves apart as true experts in solar installation and technology.

The Bad

  • 5-Year Workmanship Warranty
  • Commercial-Only Lease and PPA
  • Needs More Reviews

5-Year Workmanship Warranty

Eagle Point Solar attaches a five-year-only workmanship warranty to each completed solar project.

While these warranty terms may provide plenty of coverage for the average solar panel system, most solar providers offer terms for twice that amount of time.

Leading solar companies, meanwhile, affix terms of 25 years or more to cover the workmanship of their solar PV systems.

Commercial-Only Lease and PPA

Eagle Point Solar does provide solar leases and power purchase agreements (PPA), but only to commercial, agricultural, or municipal/academic clients.

While we generally recommend a solar purchase over a lease, solar leases and PPAs can nonetheless be incredibly cost-effective alternatives for individuals lacking sufficient credit or capital to finance a system themselves.

Needs More Reviews

Within the small reviews repository we have for Eagle Point Solar, customers are overall pleased with the company’s sales and installation personnel. However, in order to accurately compare this company against other solar companies, prospective customers would benefit from hearing from more customers who have worked with Eagle Point Solar.

The Bottom Line

Overall, Eagle Point Solar possesses all the qualities we look for in a competent, qualified solar panel system installer. The company maintains several credible partnerships, consistently ranks among the best local installers in the country, and employs an expert team of experienced solar technicians.

While we would like to see more in terms of a workmanship warranty and need more verified Eagle Point Solar reviews to make a definitive call, we encourage homeowners to read the reviews we have and contact the company for more information where desired. Note that Eagle Point Solar offers customers a free solar analysis to determine whether or not their home is a good candidate for a solar panel system. This step would be a good place to start.

Edwin Ganser Platteville, WI

On the plus side, their construction crew personnel (array installation crew and electricians) were very good, both in their craftsmanship and communication skills. On the down side their sales contact had limited understanding of how construction actually happened and couldn't answer (nor sought out) timely responses/information. This same contact was useless in providing input on how a new detached garage structure should be sized to get to the desired array KW. Office design staff (I presume) selected a 5KW inverter when the array was 6.2 KW. Project design and management personnel in the office were decent enough but in the end only continued to defend what I felt was a sub-standard design. At a minimum the sales/design/project management staff should have made it clear before a contract was signed that the 5 KW inverter would "clip" off any array production above that, effectively losing that 1.2 KW of output on peak sun hours.
