The Good

  • Personalized Program

Personalized Program

When it comes to choosing a solar company, many consumers prefer to go local. One of the benefits of doing so is to avoid the many tiers of service and communication. Working with a larger company often means working with several different people and being transferred from department to department, resulting in communication errors and, therefore, slowing down your solar installation.

Home and business owners can expect a personalized experience when working with AC/DC Solar. The company only offers its services to Florida residents and even assigns a personal Solar Expert to walk you through the entire process.

Because it's a smaller, local solar company, AC/DC Solar boasts that it knows all the ins and outs of going green in Florida.

The Bad

  • Lack of Detailed Information
  • No Social Media

Lack of Detailed Information

Unfortunately, AC/DC Solar's website lacks a lot of the key information we use to recommend the company to consumers.

There is little information about the company, its process, and what consumers can expect.

It's unclear what panels or equipment AC/DC uses. There is no information regarding any warranties. Additionally, there is no information on whether or not the company provides financial assistance — whether through a loan, lease, or PPA.

You can get more information by contacting the company directly (either by filling out the online form or calling the phone number). Still, for the consumers that aren't ready to take that step, it's incredibly inconvenient that AC/DC does not include any of this information.

The company does have a lot of generic information regarding how going solar can help you out as a home or business owner, but this isn't exactly helpful when deciding if this is the right company for you.

No Social Media

In addition to a lack of information on the website, AC/DC Solar also lacks a social media presence. For many consumers, this isn't a big deal, but for others, it can make all the difference — as a social media profile can include current promotions or discounts, customer reviews, and more. Social media is another way consumers can get in touch with the company (should they not receive a reply via email or phone).

The Bottom Line

AC/DC Solar may be worth looking into if you're a Florida home or business owner interested in sustainable energy systems.

However, there is not a lot of information provided on the website, so you'll have to contact the company directly for more details. Before you fully commit to working with this company, make sure you are aware of the equipment used, what warranties come with the system, if there is any financial assistance provided, and what you can expect the installation process to be like.

If you decide to work with this solar company, just be sure you’re prepared to do some investigative legwork.
