I changed to DirecTV because I received a bundle deal through AT&T when we had Wifi with them. My parents passed away & I inherited their home (which was deep in the country) so we were told that moving our DirecTV would be at no cost 2 us. Little did I know that moving my DirecTV would lock me in2 another year contract. AT&T did not have Wifi available in the country so my DirecTV went up automatically. I had 2 keep it another year (even tho I couldn't get WiFi, which is why I switched 2 begin with) because they had renewed my contract due 2 the move. Then in fact it went up several times after that because I would be given short term discounts every time I complained. I was even told by 1 rep that I should call in 4 discounts every other month. I dont have time 4 that. I kept it until my (slipped in) contract ended, then I had them disconnect it the day after that. I turned in all of my equipment & jumped thru every hoop asked of me. My final bill came & I was charged 4 an additional pro-rated month for being over the billing date (which was 1 day after the contract 2 avoid an early termination fee). That $106 was the last money I will EVER pay them!

Directv is a fine company. They offer decent services at an OK price. I do wish the price was better. It seems like the price goes up and the channel selection goes down every year. Also if you can afford to let me pay a lower amount for a year you can afford to let me keep paying that for the rest of the time. They also need to let their current customers take advantage of new deals that come out. Only offering them to new customers does not instill loyalty in your customers.

I had Directv for so many years. I loved all my choices that were available. I hade over 240 channels plus HBO/ Cinemax, Stars/Encocre, plas an extra package with 6 other movie channels, DVR, and a HD receiver on 3 other TVs and paid around $72 per month. When they announced that AT&T bought them out, I knew my bill was going up. The month after they took over, my bill was for $179. I had to cancel all movie channels, go down to the lowest package of less than 125 channels (with most being telemarketing channels), get rid of the DVR, and cancel receivers on 2 of the other TVs, just to get my bill back down to $75 and wait for my contract to expire.

I had DirecTV for about seven or eight years The service out in Nevada is pretty good it's never really gone out because it hardly ever rains or never snows obviously out in Nevada so I can't complain about service ever going out but customer service is okay but my bill would go up every year they would add small little service charges or service for the same channels would go up when I asked about a discount or a price drop with customer service because I'd been a customer for almost 10 years they said no it's only for new customers so I canceled and went with the local cable company

I would recommend DIRECTV to everyone. I was very happy with the service when I had it. The only reason I had to get rid of it was because I had to quit my job and go on disability! If I could get it back I would.

If it weren’t for the NFL Sunday Ticket I wouldn’t have this. I don’t think I’ve paid the same monthly amount since I started and you get zero notifications of any changes. Customer service isn’t very good. I had to actually call to cancel the NBA Package, even after the games stopped when the coronavirus halted those games. No notification and no refund for the months I paid when games stopped.

We have had a decent experience with Directv. Their technicians are probably the better part of their company. They will jack up your fees. Since they merged with ATT, their products have been worse with such a hard and long wait to speak to anyone about your service.

DIRECTV is the worst provider I have ever had service from. They guarantee many channels but over 85 Percent of them are totally WORTHLESS to say the least and their movie channels are so very limited unless one pays their premium price for them which is outrageous to say the least!! They have so many channels that are nothing but advertisements that have NOTHING to do with most people's needs, they have programs, many of them, that came from the 60s era which is totally insane. One in particular 30 minute program is one that my mother watched all of the time was Perry Mason. DIRECTV brought this program back and many more like this one. NO ONE CARES ABOUT THOSE OLD PROGRAMS THESE DAYS, SO WHY PUT THEM IN THEIR CHANNEL LINE UP?? Just as soon as my contract terminates with this provider, I am going back to our previous provider immediately and this is going to happen in another few days, like on the 14th of this month and I have NO intentions of engaging in any negotiations with those people when I call them to cancel our services and to send me a box to return their components!!!

Directv is too expensive for what you get. I was a customer for nearly 10 years, mostly because of necessity. However my main problem was the customer service. If the service went out, it was my fault. If something was wrong with the box, it was my fault. "Have you tried resetting it? Have you turned it off then back on?" Yes. I am not an idiot. One example...we lost service over the weekend. I called several times. No luck. When I asked for a credit on my bill, the guy laughed at me. So I hung up. Last month we dropped Directv. I have a streaming service that's (so far) be twice as reliable and 60% cheaper for the same programming.

I like the monthly rate for this company, and the channels the kids what. Every now and again you can catch a decent movie but for the most part you have to buy or rent movies to watch them. And the other half og the movie channels are in Spanish.. so.. and if there is a storm you can forget about TV that day.

We moved to a new house and chose directtv as our provider the original deal was great included their NFL option, but once the time was off the price shot up and a lot of the service we had was gone unless we paid more. We switched providers at that point just because of the price. The service was good sometimes went out due to snow on the dish but overall it was fine.

I was with DirecTV for a few years. My biggest complaint is the inability to pick channels a la carte. I dont want to have to choose an entire package only to get 2 or 3 channels. As streaming has become a more and more regular practice, it became super easy for me to leave DirecTV and just pay for internet thru someone else and stream the shows I wanna watch. Much cheaper too.

I really liked my DirecTV, but unfortunately the cost of keeping it was just too much. I had been a user for about 8 years and switched from Dish to Direct. The price had become out of range for the convenience of use. We had to cut the cable, save money, and now use streaming services for free or a third of the price of Direct. Sorry Direct wish you could do more in customer retention department.

We really liked Direct TV, mostly for the NFL ticket. They had a couple of really neat features too -- we liked being able to pause one channel, flip to another and then go back to the original channel where it was paused. The reason we switched is price. They kept increasing the price.... by a LOT!

We have had DirectTV for 20 years and enjoy it. We like it best for the DVR. It's frustrating that with this many chanels, there is so little to watch. We like clean, PG rated content for adults, not just kids. We tend to watch PBS and the British shows the most and even then are unhappy with some of the explicit content. Clean up the shows!

I really like the availability to receive satellite tv because I am unable to get any channels with just an antenna. I get great reception and perfect clarity on my screen. I love that I can record shows and watch them later. However, I do not like that DirectTV was unable to come to an agreement with Channel 5! I am furious I haven't been able to watch shows that I was really invested in. And now, I've missed an entire season! I am not happy at all about that!

We had DirectTv for about six years. At first, it was great because we got a special deal upon signing up. And, when that would expire, they would give us another deal. But, the price kept increasing to where it was almost double what it was when we began, although we were still getting the same number of channels. Finally, I called and asked if there was any way of getting a price reduction - I'd even be willing to have less channels because we didn't watch most of them. But, there was no way, so we had to cancel it. It became very cost-prohibitive.

I am current customer of Directv, I used to have xfinity before and being honest, I liked xfinity better. I live in a condo and Directv is offered as part of the HOA. They provided without extra cost a receiver that the image is not good and a limited number of channels. I wish at least, the receiver was HD quality, and they charge for each thing that you try to add to your account.
