Leslie G is a very courteous, professional, and sincere service guy. I appreciate his demeanor and professionalism. Because of Leslie, I would recommend Aptive to others and will make sure to request Leslie G to service my house every quarter. Thanks...

I was up and never saw the technician! I do not even know what service was performed. I had a couple questions I wanted to ask him and feel like we need some type of communication when they they perform their Work. I do not like paying for services that I do not know were performed! They are working on sewer lines and have machines going and are parked along street so another truck is not an indicator!

We have been customers with Terminix for almost 10 years. We often have people knock on our door and try to get us to switch over, but we're really happy with them. The seem reasonably priced (compared to others) and I think our tech does a great job. We recently had a mouse problem (first time ever) and they really did a great job setting up traps and taking care of it. I also like that you can call in between your services and they'll come right away. They've been good! The only thing I DON'T like is that they will occasionally increase our price out of the blue by just a few bucks.

The service rep will spend no more than 15 minutes on a 4000 sq ft house. When the pests situation did not improve, their explanation is either I have to be patient or seeing dead pests is common even with their service. I ended up canceling their service and do my own pest control. I almost never see any pests, dead or alive. And doing it yourself is not hard at all and much cheaper. Their service is over rated.

Winner: Tie. Unlike many top pest control providers, Aptive Environmental does not provide termite or bed bug removal services, despite having branches in areas where termites represent a major problem. Terminix on the other hand provides assistance with both termites and bed bugs; however, the company’s termite and bed bug removal services are premium plans only available at an additional charge. Other pests Terminix has labeled as “premium” include some species of ants (carpenter ants, fire ants, pharaoh ants, and tawny crazy ants), spiders (black widows and brown recluses), fleas and ticks, stinging insects (yellow jackets, hornets, and wasps), and mosquitos.
Aptive covers several of Terminix’s premium pests under its standard pricing, so while the lack of termite and bed bug coverage sets Aptive at a disadvantage compared to other companies, the fact that Terminix charges additional fees for so many other pests levels the playing field for Aptive and results in a tie for this category.
Many companies in the pest control industry offer additional services to supplement their pest control management:
Winner: Terminix. Aptive does not appear to offer any of these additional services to its customers, while Terminix offers them all except lawn services.
Both Aptive and Terminix have several locations throughout the country:
Winner: Terminix. With more than 300 branches spanning 45 states, Terminix outpaces Aptive Environmental, which is represented in 26 states, by nearly double.
The Net Promoter Score represents a customer’s likelihood to recommend a company’s service to a friend or family member.
Winner: Aptive. Aptive Environmental outscores Terminix across a variety of customer satisfaction metrics, including the Net Promoter Score, where it sports an impressive 7.9 out of 10 versus a 4.0 from Terminix. Aptive also wins out against Terminix in metrics like “value for money,” “quality of product or service,” “customer service,” and “company trustworthiness.”
Aptive. Although Terminix offers more varied service across a larger service area than Aptive, Aptive’s customer-reported scores give it an edge against the long-time pest control provider. Although Aptive does not provide termite or bed bug removal services, the company offers help with a variety of pests that customers would need to pay extra for Terminix to address. For these reasons, we recommend Aptive Environmental to fulfill your pest control and removal needs.
