The Bad

  • Warranty Limitations

Warranty Limitations

Medical Care Alert expects customers wanting to return the medical alert systems to do a live trial run of the systems to test it. This includes hooking the system up and testing it with their Emergency Response Center. In the case that you decide to return the system and equipment without testing it to see if it works, you will be charged a $50 fee.

The Bottom Line

Medical Care Alert has made its mark in the personal emergency response industry with its 24/7/365 emergency support, easy-to-use products offering a full range of free benefits, and a relatively affordable subscription service.

The company's monitoring service is available around the clock and even on holidays, providing much-needed accessibility and peace of mind to seniors and their families.

There are six different medical alert service plans that come with extra features at an affordable price to meet the needs of different people. You also have the option to add fall detection to a few of the medical alert packages for additional peace of mind. The fall detection add-on requires a $10 monthly fee.

There are no long-term contracts, activation fees, or installation costs which makes it simple to begin service. Medical Care Alert offers an equipment warranty, however, warranty limitations require users to run a test to see if the system works before sending it back. If you don't do this before returning, you may have to pay a $50 fee.

I'm at home alone all day and I tend to fall because of my medical condition. We don't have a home phone; we only have cell phones, and there were only two or three companies that worked with that. We researched those three, and of the three, the reviews and the cost made us choose Medical Alert. The customer service is mixed. When I've pushed the button, I've gotten a very good response; help has come, but I've also had false alarms when I have been using my walker. When it works, it works well. When it has false alarms, it's not working well.

I basically purchased the service because it makes my wife feel better. It's a nuisance for me. I get a response very quickly every time I push the button. Sometimes I just accidentally lean on it, and it goes off, so I have to cancel the emergency alarm. This is probably a good thing if you actually need it. If you don't, it's a nuisance.

I'm using the system I purchased pretty good. I saw it advertised on T.V., and bought it because of old age. I've found the customer service to be adequate.

My first one must have been defective but I was sent a new one and it seems to be working perfectly. It's a little bulky, but I love the fact that the GPS will know where I am even when I;m away from my home. And, I love the idea of it knowing when I fall. Hopefully I will never need to use it.

I was sent a total replacement because of a problem only to fine out that the new pendant did not work. Gratefully, a replacement pendant is being shipped as I write this.
