It takes forever for someone to call you back. I have to argue what is covered and what isn't. Recently there was a problem with my HVAC and there was a lot of back and forth over whether that part was covered. It was ridiculous the whole thing should be covered. The rates are low, the service is ok except it's always complicated.

You find out alot of exclusions when you file a claim. They also dont attend to urgent things in a timely manner since they have no way of knowing urgent from important but not urgent. Definitely needs to improve on these issues.

I called them because our garage door opener is broken. We payed the company sixty dollars that is in our contract and he wanted another three hundred to fix the garage door because nothing is covered. I think it's probably a worthless contract for me.

I don't know if I would recommend them or not because I was pleased but I had a bad experience with them. I had to find my own man because they couldn't fine one. They didn't give me a fair deal by making it repair it all because it wasn't normal wear and tear.

I called because my air conditioner was not working. It wound up that it was an electrical problem and needed an electrician. I was charged another service fee and they couldn't get someone so they told me they would reimburse me if I got my own electrician. They didn't reimburse me the full amount. This cost me a lot of money.

Choice, with their marketing literature, lead you to believe that they will replace your AC unit if needed, but in small print of the coverage terms the limit for any unit is $1300. There is no central air unit that can be replaced for less than 2500-6000. Therefore, their coverage is misleading.

Our realtor recommended them. everything would be fine but we ran into a bit of a snafu with our last claim. We had come home from vacation and our AC wasn’t working upstairs so we filed a claim and it took over a week to solve. When we’ve used the warranty with smaller issues, we’ve had really great results.

The first time I called about getting a repair, I was told it wasn't covered even though it was listed as covered in the contract I was provided. I then called back and got an automated call close to a week later saying a repairman was scheduled to come out. Minutes after that call, a rep from the company that was dispatched said Choice HW owed him money and without payment up front, he could honor the service call. They then dispatched a rep from a different company who came out and said we would have to pay him directly and file the claim with Choice HW. He advised us CHW seldom reimbursed so I needed to be firm.

I chose choice because I could cover my pool without it being all that expensive. When my dishwasher broke I thought I was going to get a brand new dishwasher but I only got a small payment. I think that it needs to be clear that you don't get a brand new appliance you just get a small amount of money to help go towards a replacement.

I had a water heater in a home that is a rental property. I carry three home warranties through Choice on three different properties. This particular one had a water heater that began to fail. I called to send a tech out and it took him three days to get it checked. I found the tech to be exceptionally awful. They went out there, identified the problem, and the claim was denied. The cover the water heater but not the holding tank, which is the same. I have worked with numerous home warranty companies since 1980 and I never in my life have experienced this. It's the worst company I've ever dealt with.

Based off of the experience that I've had so far with my other claims, I would put them in sort of the middle because most of the claims have no been covered. There was an issue with the refrigerator and we had issues with the air conditioning and there was some sort of an excuse which they came up with and the claim was denied.

My A/C stopped working so I called Choice. I was given a claim number and told a technician would arrive in 7 days. When I objected I was told I could call another company. Just have the technician call with the diagnosis and Choice would reimburse me according to their fee schedule. I called an authorized dealer and a technician arrived the next day. He called Choice with his diagnosis for a new system and was told I would have to wait for authorization. After waiting 2 days I called Choice and was told my technician never called. During the next week my technician called 2 more times and each time I was told he never called. I had the system replaced at my expense and cancelled the plan with Choice.

The only claim I''ve had took over 4 months to complete - the choice warranty reps were rude until the very last person who was exceptional. The others essentially told me it was my problem. Only when I asked to speak to someone to return all of my money and cancel my account with Choice did I get a woman who actually cared. One Choice supervisor even disconnected the call.

Non performance. I was promised a great service and even disclaimed that my AC was old but still working. When it needed replacing they denied my claim. I was told when I bought the warranty that the age didn''t matter, that if if needed replacing that your company received discounts from all of the major companies and my out of pocket would be minimal. I was not even offered this service. The sales person did such a slick job that I bought a 3 year policy. Just a few months in when my claim was denied I asked for my money back. I was refunded for year 2 & 3 but not year 1. I am a Realtor and was offered extended coverage for each warranty I referred. It seemed that the sales person was more interested in getting more business than taking care of my needs. His name was Bernard H. I will not be recommending your company to anyone.

If the service doesn't get better I will cancel my warranty. I was not happy with my experience filing a claim. My washing machine broke and it took 10 days to have someone look at it. When he decided it couldn't be fixed they declined to replace it and called someone else out for a second opinion who never showed up. They passed my claim around and didn't end up giving me enough money to cover a new washer.

Not easy to contact, you wait online for an hour. After an hour, I hung up and called sales and they got me a manger, who answered right away. I was calling because they over charged me. They are cheaper but I am not happy about having to wait an hour.
