Seemed like a good value when I started. The people that are responsible for reading the claims don’t read them. For example for our microwave we had all the parts replaced and it is not fixed. We had three different repair people come out and after four months it is still not fixed.

If something happens it is easy to make a phone call and get someone out. I am not worried. The customer support answers phone calls and always gets someone out. I did have to complain to get them to replace the ceiling fan. I did appreciate that when I didn’t want a contractor to come out because he is negative, they sent someone else.

When I called to have the dishwasher fixed the technician said it couldn’t be fixed and needed to be replaced and reported that to them and they offered me only two hundred and fifty dollars. I couldn’t get a dishwasher for that amount so I don’t have a dishwasher. Other times I am satisfied with how they solve my problems.

I chose them for the price. The first time went to use it, they told me even though it was passed the thirty days, they were not going to pay for it because they thought it was too soon. For the most part the service is good but sometimes they offer you a lower value to replace things.

Thought it was a good investment but I’ve had trouble with my dishwasher ever since September. We’ve had eight service calls and multiple items replaced as promised but we can’t figure out how to get our dishwasher replaced. I will not be renewing my policy with Choice Home Warranty. I will for sure be going with a different company. They did not cover the full cost of the microwave. I also had a plumbing issue and it took them 48 hours to come out even though it was leaking on the first floor of my home. I couldn’t wait 48 hours so I had to pay out of pocket and they don’t provide refunds or any type of assistance.

We have had no heat for 11 days. Yes, our repair has been approved. But our service provider is not moving forward since he has been told by Choice that Choice will only pay him a total of $650 to install the furnace. He usually received $1560 to install and cannot afford to install for $650. Choice told him 2 days ago that Choice would contact me to discuss within 24 hours. No one called. I called yesterday and begged to speak with a supervisor and was denied this ability. I was told someone would call within 24 hours. NO ONE CALLED. We have no heat and it is 27 degrees Farenheit in Chicago. We are paying high electric bills for 11 days now for space heaters as I am having to keep our water running to keep pipes from freezing while Choice fails to follow through on their commitment to us the policy holder. Why will Choice does not pay the service provider the needed cost to install our furnace. I am on the phone now with a Choice service rep Norbert on the "questions about your policy line" and he is saying the operator yesterday did not make record of our call, nor did that operator make the request he promised for me to speak with a supervisor. I called at 3:02 and was on the phone with him for 13 minutes. It is 3/10 and I called at 4:02 and am asking to speak with a supervisor and get resolution about when I will receive our furnace and some heat. 15 minutes later and I am on hold again. And again I am waiting for a supervisor to call me within 24 hours...

I was not given the opportunity to get my microwave fixed rather than replaced at an amount that does not even cover installation of a new one and less than a microwave itself, even the exact same one. They have some very good repair people that work with them. I think they do try to make sure the issue is taken care of. I am very pleased that my appliances have been repaired. It's very hard to understand people when you're trying to get an order, so it's really long distance and it's hard to understand them because most of them don't seem like English is their first language. I needed to use my warranty to get my ceiling fans fixed and they sent out a company who basically took my money and they never came back to fix the ceiling fans so I called Choice and I never got anyone else backed out there. They never brought anyone else because they had a hard time finding a vendor.

I thought they were the best plan at the time and they offered us a good deal on it. But for the money, their service is crappy or the people that they try to get to work for them are. They had someone come out to our house and we paid our deductible. Then the man kept putting us off coming. When he did come, he brought in a piece of junk - a knob to put on my washer - and it wasn’t right, so he said he’d order the right one the next tie. We kept waiting to hear from him and we never heard from him. So when I called Choice Home Warranty to find out if they knew what was going on, they said they’d already closed out the account and we were out the $65 for nothing. They have trouble finding anyone who wants to come out to our little town, but they say they can get someone. My washing machine, the same one, had another problem and they contracted it out to Sears and Sears contracted it out to another company. We’ve had the part here right after they ordered it and they service company has cancelled on us twice now. So I’ve had a month without a washing machine ad I’ve spent about $60 going to the laundry mat. The guy is supposed to come out tomorrow to fix it, so we’ll see if he shows up.

In the past month I had to use my home warranty twice. Once was for a water heater issue and the contractor sent out didn't fix the issue or knew how to fix it. I had to call the manufacturer to order the part and fix my issue. The second time was for my microwave caught fire, the first contractor charged me and never showed back or order anything for me. I had to call back in to get another contractor. I was sent a gift card to replace my microwave, the gift card was quite a bit less my microwave was brand new and only giving 1/3 of the cost of a new one. Then I asked them about getting the new installed and they said that wasn't covered.

Although I paid thousands of dollars to CHW for 10 year coverage upfront, I am astounded at what a poor quality home warranty service I purchased. I've had problems with my dryer for over a year and have had multiple service calls, always paying a fee if I wait over a month to call in again. It was FINALLY determined that it was an electrical problem that took less than 10 minutes to repair. So, in addition to my initial investment, I've had to pay for many service calls for the dryer, when all they had to do was pull the plug, and look at the outlet to see the issue. This is ridiculous.

I wish I could give 0 stars. I would not recommend this business to anyone. My furnace was 20+ years old and quit working. A technician came out and recommended that I have it serviced. I had another technician come out to service the unit and he recommend a full replacement due to the age and severity of corrosion on my heat exchanger. It could have cracked at any time, allowing carbon monoxide into my home which is a deadly situation. I scheduled another appointment with an HVAC tech associated with this warranty company. I got an email the morning of the appointment saying that technician had to cancel. I never got a call from anyone else to reschedule the appointment, so I went ahead with a third party and scheduled a replacement of my furnace. I was told that I was only being reimbursed $660 for something that cost nearly $6,000. It was an urgent matter that needed attended to immediately and not my fault that the technician cancelled on me to begin with. I don't feel that it was right that I am only being reimbursed this amount due to not using a technician affiliated with this home warranty company. I will be cancelling my policy as soon as I receive my check.

We've used our warranty a couple times. We still have a bathtub faucet that doesn't work. The plumber cut a huge hole in our living room ceiling and tried to get us to use another company that wanted to say we had water damage and charge our insurance. Then there's my microwave. I put that claim in last September. The providers number is disconnected so I can't get a hold of him and when I call CS they tell me to just wait in the part. I don't even know what's wrong with it or what part we've been waiting for 6 months for.

Sometimes they fix it, sometimes don't. I have an outstanding problem with refrigerator and they can't seem to get the issue resolved. Another time I had a heating problem and they resolved it right away so there is a discrepency. Choice is good with the initial visit but if the problem isn't fixed the follow up is kind of a bad.

My garage door quit working and the motor went out on it and they had and door now over here in two days. The service person that did the job was very knowledgeable and they fixed it. No problem out of them

The first claim was for a dryer issue. I was told He can't fix but gave me info to order item on Amazon. Was giving wrong info had to return. The second issue was for toilet. The rep only looked at the issue and stated the company has to determine if they will fix. Never heard a follow up. Went on line and found a reply to check my policy. The issue is not covered I sent a request to follow up as to someone to contact. Never received a reply. The person from the plumbing company was very grubby. Looked worse than a begger on side of street. Very unprofessional looking to do nothing.

They are okay with minor issues, but they are absolutely no help in an emergency situation. My refrigerator died and they sent someone out to fix it. It took several days, but it got done and the guy did a good job. I had a septic tank problem and they couldn't find anyone to help me. Then later I had a plumbing issue and again they couldn't find anyone to help.
