I liked the fact that once I placed the service I needed the company that had to do the job regarding my garage opener, the people called in a timely manner and came and provided the service fast and accurately. I now have a new garage opener. I thank the service person who came to install it. The service was excellent.

First of all, I had only been signed up for like a minute and a half and I was asked to do a survey. I have no idea of my overall rating at this point because I have only been a customer for two minutes. I can tell you that the salesperson I spoke to was not very reassuring, as he spoke 80 miles an hour and did not stay on the phone long enough to answer my questions. I thought maybe I would find my answers on the Q&A page but I didn't so I will have to make another call one day this week for my answers. IF CHW follows through on their promises then I am sure I will be able to give them 5 stars so until then....to be continued.

I like their availability to come out and diagnose the problem. As well as in some cases being able to fix it on the spot and if not able to ordering the parts and getting them in a timely fashion. I am so grateful for my warranty. My hot water heater had sprung several leaks and I was without hot water with my water heater needing replacement. It was 12 years old. Liked good responses from Choice Home Warranty on my claim. I didn’t like response from EMS HOME SERVICE which was the home service provider selected to repair my air conditioner. EMS customer service and communication was horrible. Their customer service representative, schedulers and repair technicians didn’t appear to be communicating with each other which resulted in a significant delay in service of my AC repair. I give EMS Home Service an overall rating of one star.

Dislike your automated system. Prefer to talk to a human. Because when it asked me who the manufacturer was, I kept telling it that it was Whirlpool. Did not know what Whirlpool was. Had to repeat over and over.It also didn’t understand microwave/ oven combination. Very frustrating!

Warranty coverage and exclusions well-defined, easy to follow. Choice was very prompt in response to a water heater failure and replacement. This included remediation and water damage repairs. I feel that I saved money. However, I disliked being caught in the middle between CHW and the repair company. Most independent repair men do a good job, have problems with CHW as well. Due to this situation, takes a month or longer to get anything repaired. Most of the repairmen come from 45 minutes away. They get approval but don’t want to go that far for one job. So they wait until they can do several at a time and if they don’t get to your repair that day then the wait is weeks longer. I have heard they give very little for the appliance much less than an insurance adjuster would have to pay.

He came and flushed the hot water heater, nice guy. Asked to use my ladder and my hose to connect it to drain out my basement door. There was no other diagnostic or cleaning of the hot water heater, as I am sure we have some lime build up. With use, we will have to see if the flushing/draining of the hot water heater will make the difference or if addition cleaning of the bottom of the hot water heater is/was warranted. Tech said that he was going to have his company to contact me about putting in a whole house lime filter. They have not done so to date. Hinted it would be by EOD.

Let's really review when I need to use it. Just joined yesterday, price was good. The salesman Matthew was obnoxious, by the way I called them. Wanted to know some coverage details and continously got what's holding you back all we need it a CC . I explained I needed to speak with my husband when he got out of the shower. The guy kept pushing like a car salesman, it was crazy. Depending on where you look Choice has great reviews, then another site they are horrible. I will post a review after I have tried dealing with getting whatever fixed. To ask me to review now is obsurd especially with that kind of salesman.

The actual service has been fine - I'm happy with the value proposition offered. However, what is unacceptable is their non-stop incessant email marketing (literally 3-4 emails per day promoting offers to buy a home warranty.) I'm already a customer!!! It's beyond annoying especially in light of my attempts and requests to get them to stop sending me these emails. The company lacks listening and professionalism when they won't remove a current customer from their sales and marketing lists.

The personnel were cordial and knowledgeable. The first estimate of time to complete the job from start to finish was a bit short, which I thought it was at the time we were talking. Therefore I was not disappointed when it took extra time to get delivery. The installer did an excellent job of removing the old and installing the new water heater!

I dislike the fact that the warranty would rather try to “fix” junk that is going to end up needing to be replaced anyways; instead of replacing it. The cost of the warranty and the fact that it’s a “fix” only kind of policy seems rather high priced. I paid for the “top of the line” and added on pool and spa coverage. Seems I’d be better off putting my money into a “HOME Repair Account” because I had to pay regardless. Ultimately, I blame myself for not researching the policy further before purchasing and I also blame the warranty company for not really being honest about the coverages and letting me waste money.

Chris was very helpful during the renewal process. However, I printed out the sheet showing the new contract and it shows my contact term of 08/03/2011 -10/03/2023 which of course is incorrect. I would like the company to send me the same sheet with the correct dates. Thank you.

I don’t like that I can not speak to anyone in the United States, no matter what you will be talking to people over seas. Other than that I’ve had my dryer repaired, I was very impressed with how quickly that got done. I had a plumbing issue, that took weeks to get some one to come out.. that could have been avoided had I been able to talk to someone locally, that actually understood the problem..

i am giving a 3 because for the appliances that i needed repaired the service was great. but, on the other hand the only reason i am not giving a 1 is because the case mangr has seemed to really try to help. i have had 3 technicians now and my problem has still not been repaired. prior to the 3rd tech i was given the choice to use my own tech but that same day before i could even respond, that option was removed. it has been over a week and we have not heard from the tech that came out. we are at the point of doing the repair ourselves and the thought of joining that lawsuit has crossed my mind. the process of this case has been at the least embarrasing and shameful.. we now will refuse to pay anything out of pocket. VERY DISSATISFIED.

CHW has been very helpful recently. They are very timely in getting the ball rolling when you put in a claim. However, they use some of the most flaky companies to do the work. If you have an issue with one of their service/repair companies they will try to get another one assigned. The process itself can take a few days. First a repair person comes out to assess the problem. Then they have to get the approval from CHW to do the work. Then the company will schedule the repair. Takes longer if you have to wait on a part. Of course if CHW can’t get a company to do the job, they will allow you to find your own company. I tried this route before and it was a big hassle. Many repair companies don’t like dealing with any homeowners warranty companies.

Our inside HVAC air handler went out on 3/16. The new unit had to be ordered, but did not get installed until 4/3. Do the math. Warning #2 is that the outside unit HAD to be replaced as well, on our dime. (cost ? $2700 +/-) The good news is that it was not too hot or cold. The new unit seems larger, so we are getting used to a much stronger fan noise inside, though the outside is much quieter. The tech used by CHW has been awesome - otherwise the scores would be lower. Bottom line ? It would have been worse without the warranty, but makes me wonder what 'fine print' will happen on the next repair, like if the fridge is working but not the freezer - will I be paying half again? Makes you wonder......

I like how seamless the process was. I only used the service once and entered a new claim today for a second issue. I am interested to see if the process will be as nice as my first experience of if it will be different. I wish we could see what companies they have agreements with to pick one to service our issue rather than the random selection, but I believe that is how most warranty companies do it. The plumber I had was good, so we shall see how this HVAC issue turns out. Good luck on your home warranty search!
