It’s good to know if something broke it’s covered . The only problem I have with this company is that it takes two to three days to get something fixed . With that said it’s worth what it cost and gives you piece of mind .

1. Repairs often take a long time to complete. If 30 days passes without the customer reaching out to AHS they will close the repair ticket without notifying customer. They will then demand the customer pay additional threshold fee to send contractor out to complete repair. IMHO my money will serve me better in a savings account. AHS is at best just a middle man between customer and contractor. They are little to no help when a contractor doesn't do satisfactory repairs.

Our experience has been terrible! Its been a waste of money. The contractors who have been assigned to us have literally made me cry. Last year we were having issues with our dishwasher, paid $100 to have someone come out, he looked at and said nothing is wrong. We still have the SAME ISSUE with the dishwasher overflowing. Our A.C. has been our biggest headache, which Home Shield chosen contractors have aided with it. Last summer AHS has a deal to have a contractor come tune up our AC, the contractors said our A.C. was in great shape. A couple of weeks later the AC didn't work, call AHS sent someone, "it was fixed". AHS sent the same guy because the AC broke down again, the same guy who "fixed" the previous issue said he saw the issue last time he was there. Why didn't he fix the issue, to avoid this one!!! It took almost a week to fix the AC and we had nowhere to stay but in our HOT house that was well over 100 degrees. American Home Shield would be a GREAT company if they choose better, reliable, honest contractors. I am currently seeking another company, but I think you guys need to know my experiences with the contractors you have chosen to be part of your company. Best Regards Mostafa

We’ve been customers since 2017 and have had successful resolutions until this year. I don’t know what changed in 2023, but we’ve had an ongoing issue since March and AHS refuses to escalate the problem. Week after week I have to call back to let them know the issue isn’t resolved. Instead of approving a replacement, they keep sending technicians who sometimes don’t even show up. We’ve had 2 no shows and a last minute cancellation. It’s incredibly frustrating and their customer service won’t pass you to a manager if you ask. They keep asking you questions to “get you to a manager” but in reality they’re just trying to “solve” the issue. Personally, we’re looking elsewhere and would suggest you do the same.

I am giving a star because the American Home Shield people on the phone are kind. But the warranty itself is a joke. I have paid one fee to get someone out to look at my A/C and the unit is still not working. I called for a re-visit and the guy that came was swearing at me within minutes and refused to work on it without even looking at it. The President of the company called and apologized profusely. I called AMS back and they said they would send a new person out because the horrible company I used said it was duct work and that is what he told AMS. I spoke to a nice lady who said she would get a duct work order out because she needed to reassign it (because the original was for A/C) but the company it was reassigned to was another HVAC company! They didn’t do a duct work company. So three people later, five days, probably 10 phone calls, no working A/C and a 23-year-old unit that is going to go most likely in the middle of the summer is still not fixed. I was verbally abused by one of the technicians that is supposed to help but just made me feel unsafe. AMS, I hope you enjoy the $$$ paid for the warranty but you all should be ashamed of the fact that this is how you are “helping” people. Your contractors are not allowed to do certain things and because of all the restrictions you have in place to make sure you aren’t actually paying out, it is a vicious cycle of our system breaking, me waiting days to get a technician, and then no guarantee it will get fixed. Your company isn’t a warranty - it is a guarantee that your customers will waste their time. Here I thought I was getting some piece of mind that if my unit broke, I would be able to get it fixed or replaced within reason and neither of those things are ever going to happen because of your company. And, not for nothing, I realize you cannot be replacing every single unit that breaks, but let’s be a little more understanding of what is really going on with your customers. The amount of people you pay to take my phone calls, schedule appointments and re-do work for my dead A/C, are you actually making kidney on holding out at this point? Do better.

Need to clarify when items will not be covered based on the age of the item. Three years ago, repaired the microwave although it was 9 yeas old. Last month, would not repair the HVAC Condenser unit because it was 9.5 years old.

When my dishwasher broke replacement parts were unavailable and AHS promptly replaced the unit. But the installer was a jerk, came twice and didn’t install it. Then AHS said they have no contracted installer and told me to get my own. I think that if AHS is going to serve an area it should have contracted installers.

Everytime I used the services I paid my 75 dollar faithfully and had to go through hell and high waters just to get a resolution. I originally reported an issue with my refrigerator on 4/26/23 and have been through multiple vendors in an attempt to have it repaired. I was told that the request would be expedited due to the need to store my medicine , it’s 5/16/23 and the refrigerator is still not functioning properly. Had an appointment for yesterday in which I took off work and the vendor didn’t call to advise he wasn’t coming due to leaving the part at the shop . Today I had an appointment for 5p - 7p and was told it would probably be another one or two ? I’ve lost food and have difficulties storing my medication, I’ve called AHS almost daily and all I received was scripted responses , this is not the “Award” winning service I expected !

I just terminated my relationship with this company, being a customer for many years. I found appliance issues were usually handled adequately, except for the latest where I have been waiting almost 2 years to get repairs done on my built-in oven. I purchased coverage for my hot tub, only to find out I was paying the monthly fee for about 2 years for a service no longer provided. Constant increase in price without notice. I have had my kitchen drain worked on at least 6 times in 4 years. Same problem. Couldn’t get it right, but I had to pay a service fee each time. Trying to communicate with customer “service “ was a nightmare, getting 4 different answers from 4 different representatives, being disconnected frequently and having to start the whole process over, frequently spending more than an hour to become more frustrated.

We had a veryloud noise issue coming from the tankless water heater. The first plumbing company that AHS sent could not fix the issue because they did not work on that brand. AHS sent another plumbing company and their rep diagnosed the problem, fixed it and the water heater has been running quiet ever since.

I’m a customer of HSA, but I believe that it is a company collaboration with with AHS now. I did have a service call that I was very pleased with. As a customer for over 20 years I have only had one issue. It was a billing issue and it took 6 months to resolve. It was a long process but it was resolved.

My experience with this company has been better than I had with a couple of other companies providing similar services. AHS has a good system and provide their customers with a good value for their money. They also are polite and i did not find any discrimination which i can easily tell when its occurring even if it is subtle. The best thing i like about AHS is that they give their customers cash out options or upgrade options on the appliances that are being changed. Some other companies do not allow this which sucks.

I’ve used AHS for several years and I have mixed feelings about their service. If you have a service need during the week it’s not bad(4.5/5) but if you need time sensitive services e.g. A/C not working on the weekend, then it’s definitely poor. Seems they do not have a lot of providers to chose from and things don’t just break mon-fri. Even when they give you authorization to find your own provider, there’s no one on the weekend to authorize said provider, so offering that option is pointless. Also, different customer service staff tell you different things; so I’m not sure how knowledgeable they really are. Almost seems like they’re reading from a trouble shooting script. All in all, I’ve never really been denied service hence the 3/5 stars.

It showed me who the company would be and an estimated time as to when they should be reaching out to confirm a time. The portal was easy to use and the company that did the work was great.

The people that answer the phones are very nice however they really don't ever know what's going on, noone follows up and they all say they will. Nothing gets documented and it's like going in circles every phone call. Nestor from Pro Price is fraudulent and will do whatever he can to get you denied. The 1st time he was at my home He stated I was missing caps when I was not. He did nothing and left. 2nd visit again no tools no diagnosis and left. 3rd visit i actually caught him taking the caps off and taking a picture with them off then putting them back on. Then leaving again doing nothing to diagnosis my unit. He then came up with an estimate and diagnosis of whats wrong with my unit without ever looking at my unit. With outrageous out if pocket uncovered fees. He never opened my unit, never had a tool in his hand!! How does he know whats wrong with it?? Why would I pay over $1000 to this company??! He is fraudulent and this company did not care. Please get rid of Pro Price Heating and cooling! How can I trust someone like that to fix my unit? This whole ordain took 2 months and still my unit is not fixed.

American Homeshield is great if all you need is to have something simple repaired. However, if you have something difficult or you require a replacement, you will have to wait at least 30 days for any resolution of a broken appliance issue. In addition, no one will automatically contact you to schedule replacement or to discuss the options for resolution... you have to repeated contact them for status updates and to obtain a replacement. This is very frustrating to do especially when you have to go without a major appliance for over a month! This happened with me and my washing machine. In the end, about 6 weeks after I initially reported the broken washer, I finally was given a certificate at Lowes to apply towards purchasing a new washer. So, in the end, the matter was resolved to my satisfaction but it took way too long and with no follow-up or status dates from customer service whatsoever. This process definitely needs to be improved.

I really liked My Georgia Plumber (MGP). They were prompt and very interested in helping me resolve my problem. AHS, however, denied me the service that MGP recommended so I had to pay out of my pocket. I doubt that I renew my AHS membership.

I thought I was getting peace of mind by getting American home shield, like it says in their commercials, however the service has been hit and miss. Sometimes wonderful and other times not so much. During a recent service call for my A/C unit, which was leaking and not cooling, the technician blew out a clog in the drain, which resolved the leak. He then went to the roof to check the coolant at the compressor. When he came down he informed me that he had found and fixed a leak where coolant had escaped. I pay a hefty monthly fee for the insurance, then $100 for each service call and if not wasn't enough, I was charged another $195 for the coolant. Seems like I would have been better off just calling an A/C company when I have an issue. I called to inquire about the additional charge and was told the policy only covers the first 10lbs of coolant. The unit was installed by American Home Shield and is a small 1000btu unit, can't believe it takes $200 worth of coolant to fill it.

Very good company. They offer a great service and it can be very helpful. They have gotten expensive in the past year or so and are working on pricing themselves out of business. It does take a long time to get a contractor to service the items too. Especially when the things that break are things that are needed. I guess you have to weigh the options...ie pay 1000 dollars for a washer or wait a week or two to get it fixed and use the laundry mat.

It great to know that when you call on American Home Shield, your service demands will more than likely be met. Very efficient, timely and the customer service is excellent. For the one claim that I have made, I was very satisfied with the company that they chose to satisfy my home needs.

I had a contract with AHS for just under 6 months before cancelling. I set up 1 claim for clogged drain. I had to call AHS & the representative that assisted me implied that they forgot about me and apologized a lot. I wasn’t in a rush in this case, but it set the tone for future issues in my mind. To be fair I reside in a rural area, and I understand it might be harder to locate a plumber. Anyway, the plumber was fast, and fixed me right up. This reflected on the plumbing business not AHS. Money is much tighter these days and I believe it to be cheaper to fix my own issues. I started training myself in my down time to fix emergent issues. I’m currently setting up the kits for these issues as well. With this said, AHS charged me a $99 cancellation fee, which isn’t uncommon. Not horrible, but I found their efficiency to be lacking.

I had a water heater leak and it was easy to request service and get immediate service. The contractor fixed the issue and all I had to pay was the service call fee saving me hundreds of dollars and time for similar work without protection. I'm not a handy man so this is a great service for me!

I do not like calling on the help line and ALWAYS getting someone that has such a strong foreign dialect that I cannot understand them in ENGLISH! I speak ENGLISH and i understand that paying for someone in an impoverish country may cost less than hiring someone that is from the U. S. but your customers suffer because they cannot understand what the assistant on the other end of the phone is saying. When I ask to speak to another representative I am denied or told that I will have to hang up and call back. THAT is the only reason that I am NOT going to ne-new my subscription for A.H.S.
