Just had a plumber go to the home needed service. When report came in of covering a leak on piping, they came back saying only a portion of work would be covered and we would be responsible for the remaining payment, which was quite a bit. I felt that more should had been covered for the pipe leak than what was offered.

I loved American Home Shield, but they have let me down. I set up a repair call on Mar. 29. Sears is the contractor, and they sent A & E Factory Service on Apr. 5th, and they had to order a part. It came here several days later. An appt. was set for Apr. 28 to install the part. I received a text at 1:59 pm that my appt. was rescheduled for May 10. I received a text on May 10 that my appt is rescheduled for May 19. I called AHS and complained. Why can't they send someone else to repair my washer? Because A&E ordered a part, they are the ones to fix it. Meanwhile, I still need my washer repaired---Mar 29th to now May 19th.

The service from the assigned workers is great. I do think that there needs to be a way to differentiate more urgent matters over others. For example when our hot water heater went out, it took a little over a week to get it replaced. In my opinion they should prioritize fixes such as these.

These comments are directed at Ambient Air, Dispatch # 215822988. My AC quit working on Easter, 9th of Apr 2023. They showed up a couple of days later which was great. The issue was a Control Board that when bad and they would have to order it. Well, it took 2 weeks to get the part (In this day and age, that is ridiculous). Once they showed back up turns out that the Control Board didn't work. and they would have to order another one. In the meantime, the technician said he could re-wire the system so at least the AC would work (something the first guy didn't do) and then he pulled the new thermostat that the first guy had installed (why I don't know) and re-installed my Nest Thermostat. So, you guess it, 2 weeks later I had not heard from Ambient Air so I called them to see where we were at. They were really surprised and ask what was left to do. They were under the impression that the work order was closed. I told them I was still waiting on the Control Board. Eventually the issue was figured out and they finally came out and fixed it. So, the work order finally closed on 9 May 2023. So, 4 weeks... a little bit long

I have had Home Shield Warranty for nearly 20 years. I have had to use there services a couple of times over the years. They were always Great. Until last year. My hot water heater went bad. I called them, they sent out a guy. He looked at my water heater and stated it needed to be replaced. He stated he would be back in 4 days with the new water heater. 4 days later I called him. He stated he forgot about it. Then he told me he would pick it that day and there would be an additional charge. he stated they don’t make enough money from American home shield to cover their time so they needed to make extra money and it would be an additional $250. He wanted to replace the 2 flex pipes to the water heater. I asked him why that they were not leaking. He stated his boss wanted to make extra money. I told him I would not pay for nothing. I called American Home Shied. I told them what had happened and wanted a different company to come. They said I would have to pay a second copay. Or I could do a cash out. I took the cash out. Had a reputable plumber come out. They came out removed the old water heater put in the new water heater and only charge me $150 said I did not need those flex pipes replaced. I would not recommend American Home Shield because they do not police there subcontractors. Once a subcontractor tries to rip out customers they should fire them for being dishonest to the customers.

We used them recently for an appliance repair job and the service tech that was sent out was great and very professional. I understand that these services might not always be a value add but in my case I think its worth it.

I had AHS American Home Shield warranties with two homes for over 15 years. They approved all my claims and they provided great service. They were easy to access online to file a claim. The only the reason I gave four stars is because they raised my deductible twice during that period of time which made me switch to another company.

I am a little unhappy with last service. DNG appliance replaced the broken belt on my clothes dryer. The appliance didn't squeak or squeal before the belt broke but now, with a new belt, the dryer makes quite a noise. I called DNG and was told that my insurance doesn't cover noise. You replaced other stuff in the past that was making noise as the drum turned.

Poor customer service center, difficult to understand and be understood. I am a new customer with AHS. Unfortunately, I had to submit a claim for a repair within two weeks from the date my plan went into effect. The process from start to finish I would rate as well above my expectations. With regards to customer service, the agent I spoke with about the claim was very helpful and accommodating. The repair process was completed within 48 hours . The service technician was very pleasant and efficient in getting the repair completed in a timely manner. Moving forward to another matter, I contacted AHS to discuss a personal matter with billing and I was satisfied with the information that was related to me concerning the amount of the bill. However, I asked if I could make a plan change or upgrade my current plan in order to add additional coverage pertaining to electronic devices, I was told that no changes including the option to cancel the membership was not possible because I had submitted a claim that was approved for payment to the service contractor. I attempted to explain that the information being relayed was not in the warranty booklet I received nor was it stated when I read the information on the company’s website. To the contrary, it stated that additional coverage can be requested and obtained from a new customer if made within 60 days from the date the plan went into effect, which in my case is March 28; 2023., meaning that I should have until May 28, 2023 to add additional coverage. As I have already stated, I am still considered to be a new customer, in my opinion based on the information I hav ever read, where there is no mention that a stipulation exists for anyone who have submitted a claim. I am not having a good feeling from my first impression of the company at this point. I may decide to make contact with another agent or a manager to find out more about this benefit that is offered to a new customer. Until such time, I am left feeling very unsure about what may be real or unreal based on someone’s own interpretation without having to verify with me where I can locate the information in writing that the agent is referencing verbally by phone. Thank you for the opportunity to express my particular concerns about AHS. ,

Member of AHS over 25 years, love the company but notice over the years that some of the contractors has been less then professional (7 - 10 wait before responding) & poor craftsmanship/quality of work (Bissett plumbing came 3 times for the same problem (leak in my bathroom & never corrected the leak), finally paid out of pocket for a plumber to come fix the problem...the 1st time.

Not all things are covered fully. Some things are and when they are it is great like our pool pumps were fixed to our satisfaction. But we had problems with our regregerator and they did not cover an under the counter refrigerator, even though a refrigerator is on our warranty list. Not sure how how things are chosen to be covered or not. They were unable to fix our washer and drier, finally, they said that they could not. We had to buy a new washer and drier.

I called and complained about a certain company and technician being dispatched to my home for issue with my washer and the disrespect of the repairman. As a result this company was placed on my no call list. I was told this had happened so I called a few weeks ago to put a request in for my washer and dishwasher. Found out that the same company that was placed on no call list was dispatched to my service request. I was told that there is nothing that could be done that I had to have a lawsuit on record for them not to dispatch that company to my home. Being told that there was nothing that could be done was honestly very rude and now I’m still stuck with two malfunctioning items in my household. Please explain what do I pay you for?

Timeliness has been inconsistent over the years. We have had some great service and some that was less than good. There has been some language challenges with some of the service companies we have worked with that lead to a lot of frustration. We have been a customer for 19-20 years and don't always think that you are covering enough of expenses for fixed or replaced equipment. We also don't think that we should have to pay extra for emergency service as we are paying for a service whether a small repair of an emergency like a water tank. We chose to use a home warrantee company to keep repair/replacement costs down and don't always feel like that is the case.

Example: they sent out a fridge person who had zero idea how to fix our ice machine and damaged it in the process after using a you tube video to attempt to fix it. They also sent another service person who also did not know how to fix it., and wanted to send back the original guy who damaged our fridge to “fix it” after learning that he was incompetent. They also refused to pay for two people (rather than 1) to carry up a very heavy water heater up the stairs which ended up costing us a lot of extra money. More than was expected from the contract. I had to beg them to give us a reputable company to fix our ice machine, who ended up doing a great job. Some things they handle well (general plumbing contractors) and some they don’t, so service has been variable. The cost also keeps rising for their service while their choice of repair persons doesn’t always rise to the level that they used to.

Follow through and communication with the customer is not great in general. Very difficult to get point across no matter how many times I explain, and even when the issue is noted in the notes. For the current open service request for the lower household well (had no water in the house for a week), I am hoping after the contractor is here and takes pictures of the two wells and he submits the final invoice, payment will be made to the contractor less any items that are not covered. The well that the current service request is for, is household well. The payment made last year was for the algaculture well. We took cash in lieu of repair because, AHS could not find anyone to repair it We were out of water for weeks. I explained this for several days. More info on my part if needed.

AHS assigns contractors to your issue quickly. 90% of those contractors reply very quickly and get out and fix your problem right away. When my washer couldn't be repaired they made getting the replacement very easy with several options.

I have had American Home Shield for the slat 4-5 years and they have been very responsive to my need. Washing machine, Dish washer, Miner repair to Federator and the Stove. now Oven is being replaced. I could not get the AC/Htc replaced because It would cost me more that what the AC was worth. With all that being said so far Excellent Service

American Home Shield has been both positive and a little negative. They fixed our air conditioning unit and it works beautifully. They have been working on repairing the refrigerator since last September. Both the refrigerator and freezer are functioning well now. The plate on the front of the refrigerator around the water and ice dispenser remains loose and the refrigerator still has not been pushed back into the proper place. We had the holidays which of course are busy in addition to people taking time to celebrate. They unfortuneately had a death in the family and understandably could not come complete the work. I had hoped AHS could send someone else to complete the work and was advised that it would have to wait until March. To be sure I find this frustrating. It's April now and it remains incomplete.

Home shield apparently looked at our history with our washer and dryer and decided to replace it after talking to us . They gave us an Ecard to Lowes or go on line to shop. We think we will be able to replace both the washer & the dryer with the amount they gave us Thank You AHS
