The service is good. It's equal to that of a previous home warranty company I used for a prior new home. The only issue I have is that I have to constantly follow up and chase some of the contractors who get assigned. I still have no resolution to an electrical issue and a broken ceiling fan.

Warranty came with purchase of home. I got emails from AHS when my renewal was coming due with a cost close to what I had. When I called to renew the rep said that my renewal cost was over $200 more that the email was for new customers they would not honor the price in the email they kept sending me. So I told them I would go elsewhere I wasn't interested in plan at the new higher price. I got another email 2 days later site offering me the lower cost saying it would not start for 30 days from date of application so I filled it out showing the lower price and got an email confirming the application later that showed the higher price which I didn't fill out would be charged. So I'll have to call and cancel again

Phone customer service is polite, but mechanical and disingenuous in tone & somewhat patronizing. I want to feel like I'm talking to an American, not someone overseas who seems disconnected to my concerns. I also had an issue with getting a contractor. It worked out, but it should not have required me calling a service provider or me getting an email telling me to contact the one that was initially referred.

I find it very challenging to talk to someone about the breakdown or warranty work needed. The individual that answers the calls are not aware of the situation and it requires excessive hold times, multiple phone calls and transfers to be able to discuss the work order/dispatch item. Each repair has had modification charges which should not apply. For instance replacing an old outdate hose should not be called a modification. (verified by a plumber its a requirement to be replaced) when you replace a water heater. My water heater was covered to be replaced under the warranty, in order to make money the plumbing company added what they called code requirements modifications. Basically charging me for the installation. they knew nothing about the county ordinances and well requirements. Its become very frustrating with the plumbers they contract with.

At times it has become difficult to get though to someone and difficult to communicate. The process of replacing a broken item is not always convenient. Often a long wait time to repair an item or they offer to give a lesser amount than the value of the applicable to replace. The overall service may be worthy the hassle but we are often tempted to cancel.

American Home Shield has changed many of the allowable fixes to not allowable over the years. They charge $125.00 for the service call which is higher than most service companies. They will order a part that can take weeks on a 35 year old appliance rather than replace (whats the chances this appliance is going to have another problem). And if it does there goes another $125.00. And it takes forever to get someone on the phone. They say COVID; I say an excuse to take much needed people off the payroll.

So far we are 1 for 5 in repairs being done correctly. They had to send two different companies to repair our dishwasher, which turns out was only because the first company didn't bother to run the reset code on the dishwasher so the heating element would come back on. The fridge repair people have just been ridiculous. First it took 3 weeks for 1 part to come in, then they couldn't figure out why after the part was replaced that the water and ice machine were still not working so they had to send a "senior" technician out, who determined the line was frozen, so now the water dispenser works but the ice maker still does not! He didn't even bother to check to see if the ice maker was working before he left. Now I have to put in ANOTHER service request (they have already been out 4 times, this will be the 5th). Overall, clearly service has been pretty terrible.

Pro appliance was assigned as my appliance repair for my dryer... Pro Appliance insists on virtual diagnostics. Hate that. They guess at the repair needed which took a couple days. Then they order a part which takes 8-10 days. They’re supposed to come out with the part tomorrow. I’m expecting their diagnosis to be wrong and they’ll need to order additional parts taking more days. Crappy way to diagnose and repair which puts the customers out of service way too long.

While they have responded to prior service requests with satisfaction, I recently requested the repair of my garage door opener. After paying a service fee for the repairman to come to the home in addition to the yearly contract fee, I was told they didn't cover the repair. I requested to speak with a supervisor twice, but never received a call back.

When I first had the service, the website didn’t work to request service and I held for over 30 minutes online 2x and gave up. I’m not pleased with my current service request. The provider did not show 2 times in a row amd I waited almost 4 hours each time. I requested a different provider and was told I had to let them try again! I think that is crazy when I have wasted 8 hours editing for them.

As a first time client with AHS, there is nothing worthy to rave about on my experience on work service. I'm already looking into other warranty companies that can fill in that gap. AHS needs to focus on their contractors within in-network. AHS tend to hire ANY CONTRACTORS within their companies budget - which leads to unsatisfactory customers feedback. AHS should read their contractors reviews and work status on how well they solve issues. You're one of the lucky ones if you get a real professional show up at your door to do the job and get the job done efficiently without the runarounds. I'm currently still under authorization for my water heater to be evaluated (took 3 different contractors to come to the house for comparisons just to take a picture). Next week would be a month with this mess and nothing has been resolved. Service request payment gone to waste.
