I have a microwave which needed repair. AHS was quick to send out a tech. The tech made the repair and the unit seemed to work fine. Then, 3-4 weeks later we encountered the same issues and called for a repair. I was charged an additional service to repair the same issue. The tech came out and replaced the part and the unit seemed to work fine. Two days later we called again for the same issue. The tech came out and installed the part but after testing the microwave found that it was still not working properly; i.e., this was a recurring issue. A new "higher quality" part was ordered. After 10 days the part arrived and was installed. However, after installing the "higher quality" part and testing the unit, the microwave continued with the exact same issue. AHS decided a complete new wiring harness should be ordered. The wire harness replacement idea was soon scratched and new unit was ordered. Unfortunately, it took AHS over six weeks of me not having a microwave, and multiple calls to AHS before the microwave was approved for replacement. I'm giving two stars for no other reason than it took 6+ weeks without a microwave before the replacement was approved, plus the fact that all communication regarding this issue was being driven by me (I NEVER one time received a call regarding the status of the repair), multiple rearranging of schedules in order for either my wife or I to be available for the tech, plus the fact this problem, overall, took a total of 10 weeks to finally resolve. Yes, they did finally agree to replace the microwave, but that's because they are contractually obligated to do so after so many attempts to fix the machine; so they get no stars for doing something they're contractually obligated to do. I don't give extra stars because I paid someone to change the oil in my car; it's what they're obligated to do. Finally, had the service company not told AHS the microwave was a fire hazard, in my opinion there's a 99% chance I would still not have a functional microwave AND we would be continuing down the road of exploratory repairs. For the record, the microwave was ordered today and I am still with a microwave. If history is any indication of how this will go, I expect to be without a microwave for another 2-3 weeks.

It’s a good product for the most part. In recent years, after moving to Altamonte Springs, I have had a couple of issues with two of the vendors they sent to fix (1) plumbing- leaking faucet and (2) dryer repair. I was less than satisfied with the end result. The dryer repair was a nightmare that lasted over three months and required calls to the customer service offices at AHS headquarters.

My experience wasn't the best one. The plumber they sent over try to swindle me into an insurance claim, and told me that he was going to change my faucet but never did. At least he fixed my garbage disposal. I am still waiting for their appliance consultant to come and fix my appliances, it has been 3 weeks, hopefully I will hear something soon...

So far it is poor to fair. Plumbing is suppose to covered however I was still charged for a strainer part for $75. Also initially they were going to charge me $75 to open the dry wall to access the pipe and $150 to close it up. Then I called AHS they said I have to pay for the strainer since that wasn't covered with my plumbing warranty. I feel that isn't fair and it seems like that should of been covered since it is all related to the plumbing. This was call was related to a leak in my bathtub. Currently, it was been two weeks waiting for them to close up the dry wall. I made 4 phone calls to get that appointment scheduled.

The initial home visit is fast but then there are hoops to jump through after paying a $100. Service fee.Not sure when our HVAC will be repaired, replaced, …. Have to wait on them to let us know. Roller coaster ride. Continually charged for technicians who are incompetent but the same technicians/service company continuously sent to cure what they didn’t fix previously. Over a period of 2+years!! I took records, spoke to numerous customer service agents who definitely tried to help me but never offered refunds or any other kind of re-enforcement for not actually fixing issues diagnosed. I appreciate the $100 flat fee as a single mother and that I have access to quick call and the company is dispatched etc. please update your policies on repeat calls to same address for same service, as your 3rd party vendors are taking advantage of long time paying clients.

I needed to clarify information on a repair I was having done and all the phone numbers I could find were not taking me to an AMERICAN. I do not want to speak to someone in India who I can barely understand 1/2 of what they are saying, and they could not figure out for the longest time what I was trying to convey. This is AMERICAN Home Shield. Come on....this is very very poor customer service. I will not be renewing my membership next year. I will find a company that uses American people to serve American people.

Mixed reviews on the company. We have submitted several request with the company and the online process makes it easy but it becomes difficult when you have to speak to someone on the phone This week we spent over an hour an hold waiting for an answer regarding an open request and we never did get a full answer. The companies AHS sends out to homes are also mixed, some are good and others we would never invite back to our home.

My dryer quit working. AHS sent tech who said it was a bad timer, probably, so he ordered one. When the part arrived he put it in...but the dryer still kicked off. Then pulled the plug and said the outlet was loose. ?? He never looked at the plug. After he left to talk to his boss, *I* looked at the plug and saw that one of the blades was burnt. I called AHS, told them the story and they said they'd discuss with tech and get back to me but they wouldn't refund my $100 and would probably charge another fee because it would be another issue. There was more but bottom line I hired another contractor who put in a power cord and the dryer has worked fine ever since.

My washer in the washer/dryer quit working. AHS came and inspected. Not fix-able, so you sent me a chenk to replace. I purchased the dreplacement washe/dryer. It was delivered, but the fawcets on the old washer were "froze up". The plumber came to replace the fawcets, then installation of the new washer/dryer. All good now!

For the most part my experience has been good. However the last plumbing company gave me attitude because I was asking questions. They left without completing the job. They didn't even bring tools in on the first visit. And when they came back the next day, having punished me for asking direct questions then they lectured me about not having done the job the first visit because they didn't like my attitude. They came through for me a few times. My refrigerator went out and they got me a new one. They fixed my oven twice. They fixed my dishwasher and garbage disposal. Only cost me a 100 dollars each time.

My experience with AHS has been an experience. They advertise if it can't be fixed then they will replace it. My compressor is going out in my air conditioner and the technicians they sent out recommended replacement. Even with having a home warranty they aren't replacing it. They did contribute $1300.00 towards the bill. In my opinion that's not holding up to their policy. I'm very disappointed that I am having to pay for the units being put in even though I have a home warranty.!!!

I have one great experience with the rep who was sent out to fix my fridge. The other was not so great. The rep for my A/C unit seemed lazy. Before my warranty kicked in I had to have my A/C fixed and was told I was low on Freon. The did not mention anything about the freon was low and made no attempt to add any.

It has mostly been ok. There are communications issues I wish were more streamlined. We had requested service for our exhaust fans in bathrooms. Then electrician sent by AHS recommended replacement as they were old and not functioning to standards. He said he would submit the request. That was 3 weeks ago... still waiting to hear from AHS. The request says service closed online, so not feeling optimistic the job will be completed to the standard I would like - which is following the recommendation of the service provider they sent.
