The system and service has been pretty wonderful. The only thing I don't like are the cameras. You can't really see well at night. Other then that my system has been working fine.

Neighborhood in Memphis had a series of breaki-ins... our Vivint system ended the spree. We caught them and all our neighbors are switching from their ADT. Caught red handed.

The online app is the best out their in the market. Doorbell camera alerts me if someone's outside my door while recording at the same time. I can also talk through the mic.

Thus far we have been highly satisfied with the Vivint system. Response time has been very quick and unit is easy to use. Though the monthly fee seems a little high, we would not switch.

Polite, prompt, professional. Stand by their equipment. Replaced glass shatter alarms for window alarms at no coat when dog was setting off alarm multiple times weekly.

I have Vivint for my business. Half of the time the cameras go offline and do not record. It’s a glitch in their system. I’ve spent several hours with them on the phone multiple times. They can’t fix it. I am stuck in a 5 year contract with a security system that is not holding up to their end of the agreement. Someone broke into my business and because of this faulty system, it was not recorded on camera. I have two friends with a Vivint system, they said theirs does this too. I will never get Vivint again. They lock you in a contract of $80 monthly payments and have no interest in making sure your system 100% functions. I do not feel safe with Vivint.

Horrible customer service! I do not recommend this company at all! They came around the neighborhood soliciting every house and we decided to get the service. They told us no contract they installed the equipment and then left.. The next day the equipment stopped working couldn’t get anyone out until two weeks then they reinstalled the equipment still wouldn’t work. The next day we called them again and the guy said sorry but we have done everything we can do for now. We found out on the phone we did have a 3 yr contract that we didn’t know about so then next week we received an email with the information. We went 3 yrs with the equipment not working at all.. They told us our contract ended this April but actually it ended in January they lied about it!!!! We called to cancel when it was time and the guy on the phone argued with me and said man I don’t think you understand how important it is to be safe oh excuse me but I don’t think they understand how much of a joke this company is from the equipment to the customer service!!! HORRIBLE!!!!!

Vivint has produced a very undesirable product and service. I have been with vivint for many years, due to be locked on to their lengthy contract. I have problems from the start, sloppy installation job, unprofessional service and installation people, poor product (CO2 sensor went bad, never has been replaced). My contract ran out and they continue to bill me. I sent them a cancellation notice and I can't get them to stop their billing. run as far as you can from this company!!

We had Vivint at our other home and after my husband passed away and I moved to a smaller home I continued with Vivint. I regret that I did that. It has bee one problem after another with the panel, I have had four pendants issued to me because the other three malfunctioned.l The panel is not working properly. I just found out the hard way that Vivint disabled my smoke detectors on November 11, 2019 so as an 82 year old woman I have been living unprotected. The motion detector goes off at 4 in the morning and I was told that maybe a curtain moved. The only curtain in the area is so far to the back of my house that it would not be in the line of sight of the motion detector. Than it went off at 5 am and I was told it could have been a spider doing across, I do not have spiders. than the agent said it could have been a cob web. I do not think that they know what they are doing. I had to get my son over to the house during this pandemic to go up a ladder (one of the agents though I could do this) just to get the serial numbers off the smoke detectors otherwise they could not enable them. Every industry I know of when their product comes in it is inventoryed using a data base, not Vivint. My son gets the numbers and I relay them to Vivint and they enable. NO, NO, NO. Last night the panel lets me know at 11 p.m. that the upstairs smoke detector is off line so I call and get someone in Columbia. I want out of this contract that I did not sign but they want me to pay a penalty of over 300 hundred dollars. This is a bad company and this has been going on since January, 2016. Let me out of the contract if you cannot maintain your product and do not penalize me for a contract I did not sign. And by the way, with the pendants. One went off when it was on my night stand and while I was down the hall on my computer. So much for getting your products in China, no quality control. Now I have to dip into my savings in order to pay a penalty to get out of this contract. 82 years old and the pain continues, Shame on you

I wish there was something worse than 1 star to give Vivint Security. I was going out of town 2 years ago and looking to get a security system, when someone from Vivint knocked on my door around 8:30 at night. They give me a lot of information, but not the details that may cause you not to choose them, or at least take some time to think about their 'tonight only offer'. I've had problems from the very beginning with the cameras going offline, the security screen freezing, the front camera recording randomly and being on calls with them for over an hour sometimes. I called in today to see if I can suspend my service for 3 months, due to recent changes with my finances and found out I'm locked into a 5 year contract. It turns out they make your contract the same length of the bank loan for the equipment, but don't make that clear. They will defer my service for three months, but will add those three months to the end of my 5 year contract. Then they kept me on hold for a period of time like they're trying to work something out, only to tell me there's nothing they can do. It was $1800 if I wanted to cancel the service, but they would cut that in half. If I'm asking to suspend my service for 3 months ($153) for financial reasons, how is paying $900 a viable alternative? I gave them a choice - either suspend my service for 3 months without extending my contract or extend it for three months with the understanding I will start writing reviews. I will find every opportunity available to share my 2 year experience on how Vivint does business on top of how bad their equipment/service is. So here I am sharing my experience so others don't get taken in. I've already seen FB posts from the MD area where Vivint reps are out knocking on doors because the know people are home (how unsafe given what's going on in the country right now). Hopefully people looking to purchase a home security system will read reviews by Vivint customers before they sign on the dotted line for anything with Vivint Security.

Purchased 1 month ago. They started to install immediately and never finished. Came out 3 times unannounced and never showed on scheduled days. Nothing is working/ being monitored. Installer left garage unlocked after being in it at night. Had tools stolen from it. Underground dog fencing unit ruined the same night as installer out and now have to get that system replaced. Have called, texted, talked to reps several times to no avail. Requested them to at least come get their equipment and refund $. Never showed up. Installers are new and don't know equipment/how to install. Equipment looks nice, but is of no value if is not installed properly and no customer service.

It started out being ok until I received the first month monitoring bill which was $600 plus this was just for one month and no one could tell me why it was that high and I only had it for one month. The first month of the equipment bill was correct but the next month someone had order $382.50 worth of equipment nine days after we had it installed but they couldn't tell me what was ordered. I feel that vivint is a scam cause if someone else can order equipment on your account without your knowledge and a monitoring bill is $600 plus for one month something is definitely wrong

Bison Wolf Dunn, NC

Brandon, Florida. A Vivint salesman showed up at my door on a Friday afternoon. I had been thinking about a security system, so I was willing to hear his pitch. I have been in sales all my life and his pitch was the typical garb. He said he had to make sure I qualified…FIRST FLAG. Everyone qualifies. I had to sign up for a five year monitoring service at $60.00 per month for the equipment I would choose…SECOND FLAG. I had an option to purchase the equipment over five years by taking out a personal loan through Citizens Bank in Utah, where the Vivint HQ is located (more on this later)…THIRD FLAG. I indicated that I wanted to research the company before making the purchase. The salesman applied all the great reasons to sign up and told me I had the standard 3 DAYS to change my mind if I did not like the service and equipment…FORTH FLAG. I said that is ridiculous and he changed it to 30 days to cancel the contract. He said he had a tech that could install the equipment that evening…FIFTH FLAG. I agreed to the installation and the tech arrived around 7PM or so and did not leave until after midnight. Every salesman knows if they do not get the contract before they leave, the chances are less than 50% they will later. I broke my first purchasing rule…do your research first! Once I started researching, I found a very large number of less than positive reviews. Every company gets bad reviews, but each negative review seemed to reflect the same issues…equipment failures, salesman not being honest, customer service horrors, etc. Even the better reviews seemed to have negative issues as well…STRIKE ONE. I then researched the equipment. I found some of the exact items such as the door lock, Kwikset Smart Lock 888, and other items that were as good or better that what Vivint was selling. I chose the higher priced items I found for my comparison and discovered that over the five years of sending payments to Citizens Bank, it would cost me almost double the price…STRIKE TWO. The main issue that was very negative to me was that I was taking out a personal loan from Citizens Bank for the equipment. So in two years, my equipment fails and Vivint does not feel obligated to replace it, I am still responsible for the payments. I contacted Citizens Bank and they were not very knowable as to the situation. They did indicate that there is no interest on the loan and not even fees that they charge Vivint. I never heard of a back that would process hundreds of loans with no interest and no fees…STRIKE THREE. Once my salesman called me about these issues, he only went over his sales pitch and really did not address any of my concerns. He then said he would later contact me to talk about my trepidation. One week later, no call or even an email. Needless to say, I canceled my contract and had the equipment removed. The tech did a nice job of removing the equipment and seemed to understand my issues of cost and reviews. To sum it up…double the equipment cost, personal loan that has to be paid regardless if equipment works or not and the monthly monitoring service is very high. I liked all the equipment Vivint installed, but there were too many negative issues for me to consider keeping the service. Just do your research before you purchase from this or any other company that shows up at your door. And do not let anyone talk you into an installation the same day! That just means the tech guy is just a few blocks away waiting for the salesman to close the deal. Do your research.

The worst customer service! Signed up at Sams club. Reps cam to our home, encouraged us to try all different features and equipment within our trial period. We add a car guard, two cameras, etc. a week and a half in, we realized we loved the system but wanted to remove the car guard and back door camera. We called and they said our trail period was only 3 days. Wrong! We had it in writing that it was 20 days. They said they would contact our rep to confirm and never got back to us. We called again a few days later ( still within the 20day trail period) rep says it’s a weekend and they cannot cancel because “cancelation department isn’t available on the weekend” but reassured bc we purchased through sams club we have a 30day trial. We call back (again) during the week, rep says the two week trail ended the day I called on the weekend when the cancelation department was “closed”. I was livid at this point. One rep said 3 days, the other said 2 weeks, another said 30 days and all the while no one requested to see our 20day cancelation contract we had in writing. Giving us the run around claiming they “tried to contact our rep twice but don’t have his phone number on file!”. Finally I emailed a photo of the 20day cancelation agreement and canceled everything but haven’t heard back from them to confirm my email was received. If they are this disorganized and unresponsive during a trail period, imagine when we are already locked in to a contract. If they don’t cancel everything, we’re going to have problem. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.

DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!! I've had a bad experience with them from the 1st day I started with them July of 2019. The tech left because he couldn't complete the job because of a power outage in the area said he would return first thing the next day called to follow up they never had me on the schedule so they wanted to add me to the schedule but for days later to complete the job. I had to argue about tech telling he would return next day finally sent some one out. I paid for equipment up front but made changes during the installation which lowered my equipment price $350 plus instead of them returning my money to my card they decided upon them selves to put it as a credit on my account. It took over a month to get them to return my money and still sent it to the wrong account instead of the account it was taken from. NOW WAIT TO YOU HEAR THIS!! My alarm goes off while I was in my home had it set on stay which I do every night before bed. I'm freaking out because its saying my garage door is opening. I hear them calling out from the panel asking if everything is ok but I didn't respond thinking someone was in my home and didn't want them to hear me. My alarm went off for 15 minutes during that time I called the police in fear they ask for information and sent officer's right away. Officers showed up searched the premises and found my outside garage door open and begin to search the garage but no intruders. Officers finished the search and was getting ready to leave vivint calls to ask if this is a false alarm? 15 minutes later! I told them I was in the middle of talking to a police officer they ask me for my name I gave it and while speaking with officers the vivint caller was on the other end saying they will mark it as a false alarm. They NEVER asked for the secret password just my name. I called to complain the guy on the other end said they could have been a new employee. The will get back with me in 2days after reviewing the call NEVER DID I called to follow up 3days later and they were still reviewing a 2minute or less call. I was told if I cancel I have to pay the remainder $200 plus dollars. I explained I shouldn't have to pay when you guys failed to keep me, my daughter and my home safe. DONT SET YOURSELF UP YOU WANT TO BE SAFE DURING AN EMERGENCY SITUATION.

From the beginning, they got the contract incorrect, required my personal information for a line of credit I didn't need, have had equipment failure within 2 months of installation, their service tech replaced a glass break monitor within 1 hour it stopped communicating to the panel again. Called customer service, scheduled another service tech date and they did not show, was told the customer service rep didn't actually set the appointment up. This is my mother's home, she deceased in August, it's an hour's drive for me to meet a service tech, am very unhappy with their poor customer service. I truly regret purchasing their equipment and doing business with this company.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! The worst experience from start to finish. Our salesperson was ok, but pushy. The next thing he did was go to all of our neighbors without permission, and told them we said they would be super interested in a system. Then, the system malfunctioned at least 10 times, and one time on vacation which of course caused panic and stress. It took 3 attempts to have a tech show up at a scheduled time to get the issue fixed. We ended up selling our house which begins the worst part of it all. PAY ATTENTION to this more than the last comments. I cancelled in August and paid off our loan. They never cancelled it, and I kept getting charged. I spoke with them after noticing this and was promised it was cancelled and that I would receive a refund. This happened 3 MORE TIMES and it is now the end of January. It was finally cancelled but no refund yet!! The service and product has been unacceptable from the beginning. I will report next to the BBB. I strongly urge the general public to stay far far away from Vivint.

1star I want everybody to be aware that this company is by far the worst company I ever dealt with. The CEO Todd P himself does not care about customers. I reached out to him multiple times and he refuses to respond back to me showing what type of person he really is. He is a complete joke and so is his company. I was supposed to get cameras and a security system installed at my home yesterday and at the last minute they cancelled on me. I waited the whole day for them to show up and it never happened. They called me at the last minute to tell me that they're canceling my install and that I will be put at the back of the list because they do not have any available install appointments until later on next week. I reached out to several management in the company including the CEO and their response was things happen, deal with it. I waited on hold all day yesterday for over an hour trying to get a resolution to this problem. I personally felt that the staff members should have done all this instead of me having to stay on hold and getting upset. We are just a number to Vivint. I hope and pray no one else would have to endure the problems and the disrespect that I received with Vivint

james thurman ,

I was a customer with Vivint for 8 years and decided to cancel services to cut down on some expenses. Upon my request to cancel services they attempted to keep my business by offering lower rates, which were discounted more than 50% of what I had been paying this whole time. I finally told them all I wanted to do was cancel, then I was told that they would send me a form by email and to copy it and add that I wanted to cancel my service and that would be it. I did as requested and never heard another word from them other than more offers via email to continue service at a discounted rate. I check my bank account regularly and on the 16th there was another charge of the full amount taken out. They say it is policy to take 30 days to cancel, per contract but I am not in a contract with them. I pay as I go, but they still would not refund the amount. I am contacting my bank to cease all payments to Vivint and disputing the last one.

My own fault for not getting everything in writing but went to cancel at what I thought was the end of my contract but apparently what I was told over the phone when I originally signed up was not put in place. There was an email chain that they even had on file showing my request which I was conveniently dropped off when someone internally denied the request even though I was told it would be approved verbally. Again my fault for not getting it in writing, but I wouldn't do business with this company. Cost almost as much to cancel after two years as what I payed over that whole time - complete robbery.

I bought a house that had this sytem installed. The seller canceled their account but did not move the equipment. ANd it kept beeping and tlaking! No one at Vivint would give me any help at all without a passcode, or even look to confirm that the previous account was canceled. After repeated contacts, they finally hinted that removal instructions might be hidden somewhere on their support site. Took 15 minutes to find. When I had service form them previouslt it kept sending in false alarms becasue a tech mis-installed a sensor. I did not know until the police showed up. Do not deal with these people they will not help you at all.

I have used vivint loyally for 5 years, I’m no longer under contract, I’ve been trying to cancel my plan for NINE months. Every month I call and I email (per Vivint request with a reference number) telling them to please cancel, and they simply won’t. I wouldn’t suggest using them unless you have HOURS to spend on the phone begging to cancel your plan.

We got pushed late at night two years ago even when we said we already have another alarm system. We were told by the sales person we could cancel any time but would have to continue paying for the panel until it was paid off . Not quite two years later the battery was dieting .I called and was asked what battery was in the panel . I was told that if a technician had to come out there is a charge also a charge for a new battery .I wanted to cancel but there is a buy out in the contract . So now I contour to pay for two systems and I disconnected from Viiant . I have no problems with ADT . Whatch what you sign up for. I highly do not recommend Viviant .

I wish I had read reviews prior 2 signing up with Vivint. It's been a nightmare from day 1. Our thermostat was not installed properly so we went 24 hours in the heat with no AC. It's been something every day since we got it. The thermostat stays offline, I constantly have 2 take off the thermostat and reboot the panel. I've contacted customer service about 20 times 2 1/2 months. The reps dont even care not once did they offer to come out and fix it. I even ordered another thermostat and this one never worked! We just spent 2 hours chatting with different reps, kept being transferred cause nobody could help and the final rep says it must be our HVAC unit smh OUR HOME IS 2 YEARS OLD!! I regret ever having anything to do with vivint! The app always freezes up, the cameras delay and just load and load, the thermostat never works oh but we are paying $80 a month!! This last rep I spoke to says it's our unit not their equipment wow cant even take responsibility for your trash equipment. Tomorrow when customer service opens we are so done with Vivint! PLEASE GO WITH A MORE REPUTABLE COMPANY! ** update*** we had a tech come out and install our original thermostat there was nothing wrong with our unit! Vivint continues 2 cost us money

I would give less than 1 star if I would. Their equipment constantly fails. For example my thermostat losses communication with the panel constantly. Therefore, I’m constantly on the phone reconnecting communication. I also sold my old home and the new buyer was supposed to take over my old contract. Long story short the person that bought my home did not take over my old contract and I started a new contract with my new home. Vivint did not let me out of my old contract so I payed for a home I no longer owned and Vivint would not budge. They are an unethical company that does not care about their customers and they are selling a horrible product. Also fair warning you will become the technical support for the equipment. I’ve had to rewrite and install 3 thermostats at my current home. Again they are an unethical company that doesn’t care about their customers so I would strongly advise staying away from them.

I have to agree with most everyone here. Vivint is a horrible company to deal with and is a joke of a security system. I had a system installed in two different homes. During the install of the security systems at home #1 the technician was extremely lazy and didn't want to install the camera or hook up any of the pre existing vivint products from the previous installation. I had to have a second installer come out to finish the installation and still none of the window sensors are tied to the install. During the installation of home #2 I had another lazy installer that didn't want to install the camera as well did a poor installation of the few pieced of equipment as well. The new motion sensor fell off the wall causing a false alarm and breaking the motion detector. The one camera that was installed on the second installation has failed as well and no longer works. These problems aren't even the worst of it. To this date, I have never been given a invoice of what actual equipment had been installed in either house and what I'm paying for. Last but not least, I am selling one of the houses. They are attempting to charge me over $2000 for canceling my account for the one home. This is totally ridiculous. To top it all off, the system doesn't work worth a crap anyway. I can never see the video from the doorbell quick enough to see who is there before they leave and it isn't a fault of the internet connection. I have a super quick and dependable commercial internet account. Stay away from Vivint!

Worst decision I've ever made. Sales reps are deceiving. He told me the equipment can be used with any other service or if I wanted to use it without the service. This was the main reason I bought it. Lock was replaced 1 month after I received the equipment but no document on my end from Vivint was recieved. Website doesn't even give you an option to view your bill even though they advertise it. I told them they are no longer allowed to charge my account until I recieve a bill and they still touched it even after I changed my card. The lady on the phone told me we dont have a location to send payment because we only accept automatic payments and that they are a paperless company. If this was the case, then why aren't my bills showing on the website. I got a paper bill with a location to send the payments. Nobody at vivint is truthful nor helpful. Not worth the headache.

Vivint is the worst! Buyers beware of your billing and payments. Keep track of everything because they will lie to you. This company will not only input your payments wrong but also expect the customer to be accountable for their discrepancies. Even when they were informed that checks could be provided as proof, they tap danced around the issue without taking full responsibility for their mistake. I still paid more than i should have when i closed my account. When you transfer to a new location, they lie about what they will and will not do. When you are locked in by a contract, they treat you like crap. I have never taken the time out to do a review but thus one is very necessary. Run not walk away from this company unless you want to waste your money and go thru unnecessary headaches. Trust when i tell you this company has bad reviews for a reason. I would give no stars if i could!

I have been trying to cancel my service for more than 6 months. I have had to jump through hoop after hoop which has been absolutely ridiculous. I spent almost 4 hours on the phone to make sure emails were sent, confirmation numbers acquired and passed on and all loan releases were confirmed. Got the all clear two days later saying cancellation process had been processed. 2MONTHS LATER I am still getting charged a monthly fee. I havent lived in the house that was "protected" in a year. I paid the equipment off several months ago and canceled two months ago. This is a scam and they make it impossible to actually stop the charges. I will never recommend anyone use this company for anything.

A door to door sales representative for Vivint came to our house offering the companies services. After the sales pitch, the sales representative offer to pay our current contract with Brinks if we switched to Vivint at the moment he had us call Brinks to ask how much we needed to pay if we cancelled our contract. In order to cancel our contract with Brinks we had to pay close to $1,700 but the sales representative suggested he could pay the full amount to cancel with Brinks if we had other properties were we could contract Vivint services. We told him we did have 2 business were we could use security cameras, after some more negotiating, we agreed with Vivint's representative to have our Brinks account cancellation payment paid in full in exchange for 3 accounst(our home and 2 business). Installation in our 3 addresses were completed after many inconveniences such as the installation guys staying out place of business after midnight and me received calls and text messages around 1:00 a.m. in the morning. Two weeks after not receiving the money to pay for the cancellation of our contract with Brinks and after several calls and text messages with no response by the sales representative, I decided to leave him a message telling him I was going to contact Vivint directly to let them know of the issues we were having. On the same day I called Vivint and told them all the issues we have had with their representative and we were told to send the letter we received from Brinks about the cancellation amount due. After they reviewed the cancellation letter from Brinks, a Brinks representative contacted me to let me know that unfortunately they could not honor the offers offered to us by their door to door representative. Since it was past the 3 day deadline to cancel, they only offer to cancel the account in our house but that there was nothing they could do to cancel the contract for our 2 business locations. Right now we are stuck with a company that not only offers expensive and lousy service but those not honorable because they do not stand by their representatives word.

Total scam to get you under a 60 month contract, where it's interest free to pay off equipment but what they don't tell you is your locked into a monthly commitment that long! Equipment hasn't worked since day 1 (panel had to be replaced, motion detector has alerted the police on multiple occasions and 5 yr battery for door sensor installed dead, plus "pro" installing techs don't spend enough time testing and fixing bugs or reading the actual work order. So you will spend an enormous amount of time worrying about your unprotected home if not using their broken system OR on the phone with them, the police, responding to the alert calls/emails and waiting on hold (even when you've been alerted), trying to schedule an appointment and of course, waiting 4 hours for them to send the same sorry tech out! I'm warning potential customers on Yelp and complained to ConsumerAffairs.com too, BBB us next and lastly I plan on going to the attorney general and FTC. NO WAY I'm paying them for 60 months of monitoring - especially when I was never given any other option.

I have been a customer of Vivint for 7 years under my name until Cole L came along as a Vivint salesscam to my door in August of 2019 my husband told him he wanted a camera for the outside, long story short he set up a brand new account in my husband's name ,told me to cancel my account and told me that I was not to mention that another account has been set up,just tell them you want it cancelled ,,I tried but a young man by the name of Jake wouldn't allow me to cancel without offering me incentives to stay, such as "what will it take, and "name your price",,in the meantime my account was cancelled by someone other then me! And my husband's "brand new" account is in full force. So from paying $77/Mo to $92/Mo..this is considered a good deal!! HA! After speaking to Courtney, she promised my bill would be reduced to $42.49 a month for customer loyalty, it would be sent to the "Retention Group"?? I don't know what on earth that is,,I have waited and waited and talked to countless young people,,they will not ,they refuse to put you through to any of the higher ups,,a supervisor or manager,,it's a scam folks, pure and simple the young people that answer the phones are well trained little zombies that all read from the same script "I'm sorry you had to go through this, I will fix it I will send an email to my supervisor and they will e-mail you or fix it and on and on it goes,,it doesn't get fixed and I get another bill for $92.00 a month which I'm not paying, so the bill climbs and they stall, and I won't budge! I will call them again and again and fight it tooth and nail, but my warning to any and all of you folks who are looking for a security system ,,Beware of Vivint,, Do Not get involved with this company,, their main base is in the U.S. I was very happy with them and was a good paying customer for 7 years, but I see the other side of them, the dark side of a very corrupt business, sending young fresh faces kids out to scam the people at their doors! There is so much more to this story but I'm sure you get the point.

Do not bother with Vivint. They have the worst doorbell camera equipment. Seriously, using the app, I cannot get a clear picture of any live activity. Once the activity ceases then the picture appears clear. In other words, if anything suspicious is happening outside your house, you will not be able to view it. When someone rings my doorbell, I try to see who it is but because of all the spinning, I only get a view of the person walking away. I have complained for about 18 months and nothing has changed. Technician came out and again no improvements. Further, their contracts are lengthy for a reason as this is a sure way to keep the customer paying for three to five years. Please do not waste your time, energy, and money.

I'd give them a ZERO rating but they won't let me post without choosing a star rating. Buyer Beware!!! Had them for years and they were fine - not great but fine. A few months back my husband and I decided to add a video door bell upgrade. The salesman Jonathan Grimes sold us a pack of lies - was told us he could reduce our rate, get all new equipment Plus the video doorbell. At no time did he explain he was opening a new account and opening a loan in our name for the equipment which I will be paying for the next 5-years in addition to the cost of the monitoring service. Not only did he not explain this - we did not get all new equipment except for the video door bell - the installer simply changed out some batteries in our old equipment. So now I have a $2,200.00+ loan in my name on my credit report for a door bell I could have purchased outright at Best Buy or Amazon. Customer Service is not budging nor are they willing to offer any compensation. They told me if I want to cancel - I have to pay off the loan before they will remove their equipment and services. I hope they go out of business!!!

As a security system I had several issues where the system would disconnect from the network and it would take several attempts to reconnect. This worse came after I cancelled, they continued to call me for payment of my monthly bill. A year after I cancelled they continue to call and have sent to collections, even though I don’t owe anything and I have not had the system for over a year. Every time I talk with them the issue seems to be solved but they keep coming back every three months. It seems like a scheme where they don’t even provide you with service but expect payment, and nobody seems to know wht is going on.

I have had nothing but problems with this system and company. I am so sorry I contracted with them. I should have stuck with Brinks. First of all, their equipment is flawed. I had to have three thermostats replaced during the first three months of installation. I've had two false alarms for the water sensor device. Vivint claims it's a problem with the supplier, but I have a feeling all their equipment is faulty. I can hardly hear the so called doorbell if I'm upstairs on my second floor. Customer service is not the best either. Several times I have had to call, and the techs don't seem to know a whole lot about the operation of their equipment. I've been waiting a week for a return label to send back the two thermostats they charged me for even though they are defective. If you need a service tech to visit your home to fix something that goes wrong with the equipment, they will insist on charging $50.00! They claim the equipment is guaranteed "for life," but if it's faulty, you must pay to have it fixed. It took two phone calls to get a written contract, and then it's not even a formal contract. They call it a "Certificate of ownership" or some nonsense that is emailed to you. I would not recommend this company. Stay away!

I have been a customer about years, had problems from time to time. My biggest problem is the company does not keep there word on referrals. Had people 2 1/2 years have Vivant install there solar equipment. To this day I have not received the referral fees they promised. Have 2 dozen calls in with them including today 11/1/19 same response you been approved, will send an e-mail to the dept that handles it. Not once have they called on this matter. This company is bogus, a bunch of liars, so sorry I made the choice of Vivant solar. Here is the best part for me, have had several solar companies approach me offering referral fees if they recommend them. I have had couple of people that have had solar installed on my recommendations and have received to date $1200. I am so sorry i used Vivant, wish I could turn the clocks back. This is the worst company I have dealt with in my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish there was a 0 star option. First of all I had a horrible experience trying to cancel the service. Then when we moved I called to have our name taken off the account because the buyers of our home had an issue with the alarm and had to get a password from us. I figured this would be easy. But no. They told me that I need to get a confirmation number from Citizens Bank showing that it was paid off. Even after I sent them a screenshot showing the payment. They said that didn't prove that we paid off the equipment. WTH do they think we would pay them $1300 for?! Total idiots! They should have records of all of this information. Worst customer service ever. Do not do business with this company!!

Negative 5 stars ! Absolute worst service we've ever allowed into our home . They were stealing money out of my bank account claiming I had services installed in my home . When I had caught on , I notified them and they called me a liar and that they were sending someone to my home to see if I was lying . When they confirmed that I was in fact not lying , giving offered to give my money back and give me $5.00 for my troubles I had problems with their services from the get go . Some services did not even work at all. When I had mentioned it to vivint , they said that I'd have to pay for a tech to come out to service or fix the problem lol . Whenever I'd talk to someone in customer loyalty, theyd feed me some sort of b.s , saying theyd give me a month free service but the next customer loyalty person I'd speak to would say they knew nothing of it and that there was nothing on file . These people are liars and stealers! When I had finally had enough of their lying , I had asked them to remove their stuff from my home and repair the damage to my home from them anchoring their stuff to my house. They told me i was 2 days past the day where I could cancel and therefore would have to honor my contract vivint had never held up their end of the contract from the get go but I'm the person who pays . These guys are crooks ! I regret the day I let them in my home .

Have no problem with the service but once I terminated the service and gave them their 30 day notice, they continued to take the monthly fee from my checking account. This occurred for 2-months. I called 9 times and email 3 time trying to get my refund. My last email response from Angela Medina said that she was too busy to check into my account and referred me to the 1-800 number for assistance. Prior to this, Angela sent me an email confirming that my refund would be back into my account in 10 business days or less. Each and every time, they promised it would be put back into my account. To day and 3-months later, I've had my fill and will now file a BBB complaint. Terrible, terrible 'Customer Loyalty' service. Although I didn't have any problem with the security service, I would NEVER sign a contract with Vivint again based on the extreme lack of consideration that I received from their 'Customer Loyalty Service Center'.

The absolute WORST security video backup system ever designed! You can ONLY access recorded video with a smartphone, that is unless you want to ATTEMPT to send their ridiculous video links to your email (which more often than not, does not work! I would hate to be robbed and try to give the video footage to the police. It would be a nightmare.) I had contacted their customer support to determine why (even though there is button to click to retrieve video to your desktop) I could not connect to get to my video backup, and was told "they were working on it." This was a few months ago. Completely pointless system! I wish I would have gone with someone else for security. I had to install a backup wired camera system just in case.

This company send s out spam email ads that you cannot delete from your smartphone email app. I have a strong suspicion that this is some kind of a GPS tracking or mechanism or spyware. If anyone encounters this problem, do not open this email message, and do not attempt to delete it (it will simply get stuck in your deleted items folder). Instead, clear your spam folder of your email from a PC/laptop. If you clear the spam folder from a smartphone, it will simply get stuck in the deleted items folder (in the email app on your phone), and you won't be able to see this email from your laptop/PC. In this case you would need to delete and re-install your phone email app.

Save yourself some money and go with a Ring doorbell or really anything other than Vivint. It never worked very well from the beginning no matter how sensitive or not I set the motion detector to. Now the doorbell camera doesn't detect any motion and if you're lucky enough to get a clip of someone only after they ring the doorbell, you get a video of the person's back halfway down the driveway. The app is useless. It doesn't keep you logged in for the most part, but even if you are logged in by the time you get the alert that someone rang your doorbell you can't get into the app quick enough to talk to that person with the microphone. The latest and greatest app fail is that it will send me alerts of someone ringing my doorbell but it won't even save the video clip. Complete waste of money!
