I was denied services and prescriptions because of an error made by an Ambetter representative. Anytime I call and try to verify my information they always say member not found. Each time I speak to a representative they ask me if I have a primary care doctor despite having established a primary care doctor with them and them giving me a reference number. This is by far the worst health insurance I’ve ever had in my entire life. .

This company is horrible. They cancel my insurance and took a payment from me and refused to give it back. Customer service is clueless about company procedure. They refused to let me talk to a manager. These people upset me so much I was in the hospital for 3 days. I will recommend them. This company doesn't care about you or health...they only care about money. They don't pay for nothing and they very lazy. Please do not get insurance through these people.

It’s just catastrophic insurance. $400 a month and a $7,900 deductible. In addition, the network of doctors are squeezed by Ambetter so they have to see as many patients as possible. Three hour wait just to see a general practitioner is horrible. I’ve been to three different doctors and it’s the same three hour wait. I’m sitting in a waiting room right now because I need high blood pressure medicine. This wait is it helping. Horrible horrible company and network of doctors.

I am better was the only insurance provider with the ACA a in Georgia in 2018, obviously they were BOOMING. But they only paid $.20 on the dollar to the doctors so the doctors did not except that. We could not get seen anywhere. We changed in 2019 when Blue Cross Blue Shield opened in Georgia. Without the monopoly, Am better is pulling on fumes. Am better insurance is the worst example of health insurance on the globe. No one except sis, it’s the same price as everyone else, but you get treated like some kind of leper if that’s the insurance you have.

They cover nothing. I have one medical condition and I take one pill a day that keeps me alive. The med is 500.00, they won't cover it. Then, my in network doctor needed a cardiac ultrasound for the same condition, they won't cover it. Then, I had two visits with my primary care for little stuff, and they refused to cover that too. I cancelled my policy. I'm not paying them almost 500.00 a month for insurance if I still have to pay all of my medical expenses out of pocket.

Worst company ever. The doctors on their website does not take their insurance ... they all said the insurance won’t pay and just makes all the patents more in debt. I can not find a doctor that will take the insurance and I guess it really does not matter because they won’t pay anyway !!! All fakes ! Filling their own pockets! I called to cancel and they said I have to cancel with them and I had to call health markets to or it would not be canceled and they just want to sell you another pay and they did not cancel it ! They sent me another bill. I won’t be paying it.

This insurance is terrible and expensive. They do not pay most of the time and when they do it is very little and you are stuck with the bulk of the bill. Dental is a joke! My dentist claims they filed a claim 3 times for me in 2018 ( same claim but 3 different times) and I finally filed this claim a fourth time). I never even received an explanation of benefits. I believe thiat Obamacare will go down in the history books as the single largest scam of the American people ever. May God judge and have mercy on our souls.

I have been trying for days to find a physician within my plan to do post hospitalization care. The earliest appointment is May 27th (please note I am writing this as of 1/18/19)! I returned a call from someone named Angela, again regarding my hospitalization and no one bothers to get back to me. I can't wait for Medicare. Anything has to be better than this.

Really useless insurance. I had no idea. Please do not choose this insurance as the marketplace will not let you change. Kind of like a scam. No doctors accept it and the ones that do hate it and wont do anything for you. I have a couple of serious issues which require an MRI be done and could not find any facility in my area that will accept Ambettor. I may as well not pay the premium and let it lapse. Now I have no insurance which is really the same thing. I am so sorry I chose Ambettor. Dont make the same mistake.

I would give this "insurance" a zero if the option was available. This insurer is a joke to doctors in my area. Not a single one of my or my husband's doctors accept it. After 20+ years with the same doctors we are being forced to find another doctor. Worst part is we had no option for another insurer in our county in Georgia. Getting info from the company is next to impossible. I hate this situation.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Ambetter did not cover a single doctor visit in the year I had them. When I called to find out why none of my doctor visits were being covered they kept telling me they would fill out a claim but they never submitted any of my claims. I ended up having to pay $800 dollars because of ambetters inability to complete any request.

This is the ONLY insurance available to us in the Statesboro, GA, area. You can get other insurance if you are with a group. The only problem is NO ONE takes it. One office said that they would keep Ambetter patients if you were already a patient but would not ad any new. We are forced to buy this insurance but no one takes it. I only hope that it works at the local hospital as a catastrophic plan....so sad!

Probably the worst insurance you can find out there. I have had a claim open for a year that they said they were going to pay they, continually reject the claim once it get to the claims dept. then when you call they will tell you it’s been taken care of, and they will keep doing that until you bill gets to collections and destroy your credit, and they still say that they are taking care of the bill. I have been dealing with them for over a year on a bill from and emergency room visit.

Ambetter is the WORST health insurance we've had in 40 years! Denied almost every claim until multiple reviews and appeals. Said doctors were not in network when the CLEARLY were. Deceptive benefits descriptions. Had to file several grievances with the Washington State Insurance Commissioner. Spent HOURS, DAYS, WEEKS to get claims paid! DO NOT GET THIS INSURANCE!!!

Terrible. They can't get a statement correct. I pay on line through Wells Fargo at the beginning of each month. Without fail, mid-month I receive a nasty letter about my lack of payment. Last year my premium was $87, now it's $170. I did attempt to actually use this insurance and every provider I contacted wanted nothing to do with them. They told me they simply do not pay. So I pay cash for medical services. I'm done wasting money on this fraudulent company.

The worst customer service ever! It took 5 phone calls and 3 hours to get an orthopedic surgeon that accepted this insurance. Their system is not updated. They gave me doctors names that don't accept their insurance, wrong phome numbers for the doctors, incorrect answer and some of them wete extremely rude. One guy told me he hurt his ankle so the fact that I needed a dictor for my arm within my zipcode because I don't drive doesnt matter. Eventually I had to call doctors myself and ask if they accepted the insurance. Really disgusted with them.

Ambetter has the worst website. I even checked with my insurance agent and he has the same impression. The log in process NEVER works. It always says: "Your Login information has been locked out". Even though I am using the same information. I have it written down in a folder. There is not even an option as 'Forget Password' and/or 'Forget Username'....even if I wanted to utilize it. Then one has to call them, be on hold for 20 minutes, and then they will reset it to the same one. Next time, the same thing will happen again. It happens EVERY time. Thank you.

They won’t listen to the doctors. Will always deny to save $. I am having an issue with my leg that is not explainable. Dr requested an MRI which was denied. Ambetter recommends 6 weeks of physical therapy. In other words Ambetter does not want to know what’s wrong before someone starts working on you. VERY concerning! Their recommendation was to use pain pills and booze to dull the pain!!! Great medical advice

I cancelled my health insurance with Ambetter.They sent me a letter saying my portion for health insurance would be 75.00 a month . Ha Ha what a great Xmas i received 260.00 a month for Insurance. not the 75.00 they said it would be in the letter they sent me. So i have no insurance now trying to get on my husbands policy please wish me luck. Do not recommend them at all.Also i have a ongoing bill the they have not paid.

I cannot find any GYN within 200 miles. When I searched the availability pre-12/15/18 there were plenty of good ones. I guess that was to entice ACA enrollees to select their plan, because here on 12/24/18 there are none listed. One of the doctors they had listed earlier this month, Dr. Lauren M, hasn't excepted Ambetter in years. Do they really expect travel of 3 or more hours for appointments? $718 a month for what? I have 0 health issues. I just want the normal exams.

I am native American and the marketplace suggested this is the best insurance for natives that have health benefits from the IHS services. However after a year of having the insurance and it's coming to an end on December 31, not once did Ambetter assist in any payment of any service I received in the last year. All i ever received this past year was denial after denial I would never recommend this insurance to anyone, nor would I suggest any Native American to take this insurance. It was a money pit and not worth the cost I paid.

They don’t care about you in the least. I had them last year. My bank card number was stolen and used for $12,000 in phony charges. I stopped the card and ordered a new one. Visa said my bills would transfer. Ambetter didn’t. It skipped 1 payment and they cancelled my policy. I called and asked if I could back pay them they said NO. I asked if there was anything I could do. They said, NO. I said this sucks. They said, I know it’s compam policy, it happens all the time. Goodbye.

Having Ambetter has been really frustrating. I can't do a number of things that they say we can easily do. Some of these include...1. getting a hold of them on the phone when needed. 2. finding a provider online. Whenever I search it says that there is no one in our area even though there is. What I liked about Florida BlueCross was that it was the exact opposite and they were very reliable.

No urgent care providers in-network withing 50 miles. Run!!! Better off putting the money paid in premiums in the bank. They'll deny your claims. Denied MRI for my hip (that was fractured) and wanted pain meds and PT for 8 weeks first. Because I was unable to access care, I requested a refund of premiums. They agreed and then kept my money. Reported them for consumer fraud in TX, but they lied and I would have had to fight the determination and by then, I was worn out. They are the WORST! So bad, that I didn't get coverage this year because I felt so scammed.

Ambetter told me to have a mammogram for prevented health maintenance. They said it’s free to me. I got it done by a provider in Ambetter network but Ambetter has yet to pay the provider and it’s been eight months. The provider said they have thousands of Ambetter patients that have not been paid on. I’m switching to Oscar Insurance.

My daughter had emergency situation and joined her in the near by emergency room, ambetter have contract with emergency which is more than 100 miles. We have called ambetter for pre-approval since its out of network and more than 100 miles, she is agreed. Later I was by customer rep that I need to pay deductible then rest of them they will cover. After hundreds of followups (almost 2 years) surprisingly they don't cover anything with strange disclaimers. AMBETTER IS A FRAUD.

Why aren’t the specialists or all participating providers not updated? Why is old information still in the out of date system ? Why are there different tier systems for the member vs Ambetter locater ? Why don’t I have access to the same information in the member system? I have a medical professional within their network and they keep denying she's in their network. When I first called, they said she was in the network, so I went to see her. Then I got a letter from Ambetter saying she's not in my network and they denied the claims. So I called again and they said she is in my network and refiled the claims. Then I got another letter saying they denied again, not in network. It is now the end of the year, the plan is expiring and they still deny these claims.

Ambetter insures me and I went to an in network hospital emergency room. Problem is the ER Dr. was out of network. Even though I have 2 separate copies of my plan and my insurance card issued by Ambetter, all stating zero$$ after deductible with exceptions =-NONE- for IN and OUT of network they are refusing to pay the full bill. I would give Ambetter — stars if I could because they are deceptive and DO NOT pay legitimate claims that are supposed to be covered as found in writing in black and white. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

I am paying an insane amount for my premium each month and they don't cover anything. I just gave birth to my baby, and if I had gone through the hospital without insurance I would have paid 1/2 the amount that I owe now. This insurance company is a fraud.

Doctors get very frustrated because Ambetter approves nothing, not just for me but for everyone. Ambetter should not even be considered insurance. Horrible insurance. Customer care is incompetent. On their website they list a provider as being in their network then they deny benefits with a code of "not in network". Deductibles and co-pays are costing me a fortune. Explanation of benefits included a lung transplant and a vasectomy. I've had neither!!! Only choice where I live in Missouri.

Most of the doctors in my area won't take this insurance. Some of my doctors that did carry it have dropped it, and I have had to find new doctors farther away. Many of the doctors that I checked on their site actually do NOT take the insurance. Every year the prices for this insurance has gone up by huge amounts. They have also decline a surgery that I needed. This is a sad excuse for medical insurance.

If I can give him a negative star I would . I was admitted to the hospital on a Wednesday on Saturday all I needed was an approval for home health care. 5 days later I was still waiting for the approval meanwhile bills are going up and no income coming in all I can assume is that they just want me to get frustrated and walk out of the hospital so they wouldn't have to pay for the home health care. I guess I'll just put them on the Evening News to show how incompetent and what kind of garbage they really are.

I started my insurance in Jan. of 2018 and set up auto pay for them to take out my premium every month. They decided not to take my April 28th premium out and canceled my insurance on May 1st. Every time I call them and ask them why they refused to take the premium out of my bank account they have no idea. Now I'm in the process of appeal. It would be nice to have health insurance in case I ever needed it. Horrible company! Only one left in KS.

Signed up in 2018 for Health Insurance. Used website to contact a specialist for a well woman annual check up. Called the specialist to make sure they accepted Ambetter because several of the Doctors from the website did not take Ambetter insurance. Went for check up and Ambetter would not pay the bill because the doctor is no longer in network. Had to pay full bill. Terrible insurance and a big racket looking into cancelling this insurance and WILL NOT use this company again next year.

My husband had to choose a different Ins. Co. But these was only one! Since we had one last year that was fair pricing he Signed up! First bill was NO PAYMENT DUE...send month the same. Now we get a bill for $3,000 sent in paper work to investigate still get bill for $3.000 my husband collects his social security next month and only earned $4.000 last year. Ambetter is Medicaid. If you have Medicaid you are concidered poor/ low class. Many low income clinics will say “accepting new patients but not taking Medicaid/Medicare payment”. Health insurance is a great USA scam. Ambetter is a peepoor excuse but a good revenue for Big Pharma. It costs a clinics door $3000 an hour to stay open and Medicare makes us probono patients. No one wants us and Ambetter is just another Medicaid symbol we wear on our arms so medical staff can judge and deny us. Remember: Medicaid/Medicare is to label who is worth saving and who is worth dying.

Here in NV, this company is very inefficient. Materials are never sent timely, the website does not function properly, the medical network is very weak, the provider search feature is innacurate, the EOB are not posted timely, the communication portal is not followed up upon timely or with solutions, the advice from the help center is inaccurate and the prior approval process is lethargic at best. Other than those things, they don't seem to care too much to fix any of it - and oh boy don't point it out to them. And we get the priviledge of paying ~$1,400 a month. Lucky us.

I started coverage with Ambetter on 5/1/18. Since then, I have had to call them 3 times. Each time, the representatives I have spoken to have been unable to assist me with questions. I requested a supervisor and had to wait in excess of 15 minutes to speak to them and then they could not assist me either. All they did was refer me to my bank where the payment was made.
