I called bcbs recently to inquire about how much they would pay for a procedure. The man was patient but not very helpful in that I couldn’t get the answer I needed. I usually have had a good experience with them , however, it was just that one time.

I'm convinced I have the best insurance in the world. Not only is my coverage great, but the online tools are so easy to use. I can easily find out if I'm covered and where my local providers are that are in network.

I had BlueCross BlueShield for a couple of years and thought they did a great job supporting us as we needed to use them. They were responsive and quick to pay. They didn't have as large of a network in my area as I would have liked but we were able to make it work.

This is the insurance we used to have. The were GREAT! We could do whatever tests the doctor wanted/needed done without any pre-approval. They would pay their share without any issues at all

We have enjoyed working with BlueCross BlueShield in the past. We did think that the cost to add a family was too much though. I did appreciate the patience the customer service department showed when I would call in and I had a question. They always treated me with dignity and made me feel that my questions were important.

BlueCross BlueShield Has great health insurance. As a college student it gave a lot of my prescriptions for free or really cheap! That’s huge for a college student. That has been the best benefit for me.

If I had to describe my time with BlueCross BlueShield insurance I would say its just alright. The price is fairly high on monthly premiums and the deductible I had was quite high. The best part was the large network of physicians.

We have enjoyed our BlueCross BlueShield health insurance provided through work. We have great options for doctors and clinics and they seem to cover a good portion of the visits. The price is great and we have always been happy with them.

My work insurance runs through Blue Cross. Have an HMO plan. I can’t complain too much as my premiums are fully covered through my work but the doctor selection and level of care could be better. Long wait times for referrals on occasion and finding specialty doctors is sometimes limited with selection. Overall fairly happy though with Blue Cross

Blue Cross has been very helpful especially when there has been a problem with an account. I would recommend Blue Cross to anyone looking for a health plan. I do not like when they have canceled a plan for the following year, then I have to find a new plan.

I really enjoyed have Health Insurance through BCBS. I had to switch over to Aetna has my employer switched. I wish I could go back to BCBS. I never had to wonder if BCBS would cover my health procedures and felt like the customer service was great.

We have been with BlueCross/Blue Shield for many years. They have more than enough participating Dr's and providers and their coverage plans work for us. High deductible plans are the worst. We have never had any real problems with them not paying claims in a timely matter so that is a bonus for us.

we had this insurance through my husband work for 3 years and when my son was diagnosed with cancer we couldn't add him on our insurance because of his new diagnoses. agents were very apologetic and tried everything they could to help us. they went over and beyond. prior to this we had no issue with BCBS. customer service was always a long wait time to speak too but at the end we always got our questions answered. monthly payments was expensive, for a family of 4 we were paying almost $650/family.

Blue Cross Blue Shield is a great insurance company. I really thought they did their best with customer service and I felt my coverage was quite good. It was soooo expensive, but I feel like that's about normal for private health insurance anyway. Overall I would give them a good rating.

We've used Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance for the past 3 years and it's the worst insurance we've ever had. They'll pay your bills......after you've been sent to collections for their lack of response to the medical provider of the past 9 months. You will have to contact their 3rd party provider over EVERY claim to verify that you weren't insured at work, in a car accident or on the premise of another responsible party. The plans offered through my husbands employer all had high deductibles and didn't cover our preferred hospitals or clinics. My husband recently left his place of employment seeking better healthcare services.

This company still provides more options than most. Good options for physician choice. Cost keeps going up, but that is universal. Generally good about responding to customer service inquiries. Sometimes have to wait on the phone a while.

One thing that really stresses people out about insurance is the price and the coverage. My family is the type of family that rarely ever goes to the doctor but having dependable coverage that most doctors accept is great to have. Blue Cross Blue Shield has been our insurance because of work but I’m thankful to have it.

They occasionally are a hassle for us and don't cover things that we think they should. We have had to write a few letter to them to try to get them to cover different medicines and treatment, but other than that they have been pretty good at taking care of us.

I’ve never been more frustrated with an insurance company. I have an HRA and I’m trying to get reimbursed for deductibles and their HRA department does not talk to their medical department so I literally have to reconcile all $8k medical expenses myself to prove they owe me money.

Denied a claim for a knee injury that happened during a marathon. I had xrays and an MRI, which showed a torn tendon and torn meniscus. I was told I can fix these tears myself with physical therapy. When I called directly to speak with someone, they barely spoke English and got nothing accompli6.

My mom got her healthcare plan through her employer with BCBS. She never asked for help before with additional services until recently. When she asked for help with her transportation to dr appointment, BCBS kept giving her a run around nothing got done. BCBS can do the talk all day long with its advocates, 27/4 medical helpline, and all that craps, but when the customer needs it the most, BCBS is the garbage. I dont write negative feedback that often but BCBS is nothing but a loudmouth.

Ugh. The worst! I have had BCBS for my entire life, I’ve worked at a doctors office and dealt with other companies. Blue cross is notorious for u detonation h doctors and refusing to pay based on a whim. They are impossible to get on the phone and if you do happen to find someone who is mildly helpful it is impossible to call them direct or request them the next time you call. Out of network they do not pay providers directly, the patient had to pay up front and they make you wait several months to get reimbursed, if you’re lucky.

I'm a 2 time breast cancer survivor, and I need to have a bi-annual breast MRI. BCBS has always denied to cover this test. My monthly premium is 570.00 per month and 6500.00 deductible. My Dr. has appealed it and the test has continued to be denied. Patients should be able to get the care required to stay on top of a health care issues without a fight.

Highmark Blue Shield Medicare Advantage did not pay for Dental nor Vision. I had to pay out of pocket for an Ultrasound. I also went to pick up a medication they had authorized the cost was only $779.70. I only receive $24,000 per month from SSA like I don’t have other bills to pay. Highmark Blue Shield of New York does not care about us Senior Citizens who have worked in the medical field for 48+ years. I hope the younger generation gets their recognition like us Senior Citizens

Their technical support department is the worst. They must be in some other country you have to spend so much time trying to make them understand anything and they in turn are very hard to understand. They don't seem to get anything you tell them and you have to keep saying it over and over many times till it sinks in their head why you are calling them. They tend to ramble on and make statements that just make no sense. After 45 minutes of this and asking for a supervisor, I got no supervisor, just a promise from this barely English speaking moron they hired that it would be fixed.

I continuously receive bills for procedures suppose to be covered by insurance. I called company just to get ignored. I also noticed that doctors like to inflate charges such as 615.00 to look at medical info for 15 minutes and know one even questions charges. The hospitals and doctors should be investigated for all of the unreasonable charges that are passed on to consumers.

Horrible. I just started with them and my doctor recommended two medications Mounjaro and Ozempic for pre-diabetes. They denied both; however, when I called said when I go full-blown diabetic they will cover the medication. Who does that? I will tell you who...big pharmaceutical companies and physicians sitting on these committees denying medicine to help customers prior to getting sick. This is an atrocity and absurd. I wish I could cancel my insurance immediately. And I will find out if I can. Horrific.

Medically necessary tests are denied frequently as are necessary functional procedures such as Botox for migraines due to the company not fairly or justly reimbursing providers for services. I previously had Aetna through my employer and it covered nearly everything needed.

This is the second time writing this review as Blue Cross makes it difficult to leave them. I just now got a bill from my Dr. It was $266.00 Blue Cross paid $13.41. I've been paying for this insurance for over a year now. I was told by a Blue Cross representative that I cannot cancel until November. I asked to speak to an American several times but was told I was not allowed to speak to one. They were extremely rude. I will be cancelling in November

These people are horrible in terms returning phones calls, processing claims and knowing what the procedures are. I've been trying to reach a claim adjustor for over a week and the supervisor. All you get is the runaround and then not a single person there can give you a answer that makes any sense. They dont even know what the correct procedures are for a claim in which they are supposed to be processing. I would NEVER do business with them they should be ashamed of themselves and the quality of service they provided in my personal situation.

I have policies with BCBS of North Carolina. I just spent 3.5 hours on the phone, being transferred no less than 8 times, as I attempted and failed to reactivate eyecare and dental policies that they mistakenly terminated instead of removing a party from each policy. In order to reactivate the policy they were checking to see if I could do so if I paid the premiums for the 5 months for which I was uncovered. Most frustrating customer service experience I have ever had. Shame on you BCBS!

They denied coverage of a necessary, time sensitive procedure that they are required to cover because of a receptionists mistake. They are not willing to consider reversing this, even though I meet the criteria. We’ve wasted two months dealing with them and it’s so sad, frustrating and exhausting. The procedure is $30,000 and we should have started 2 months ago.

What is the grace period policy of BCBS so ruthless? Why would it take 4 days to remove a grace period when people get their account up to date? You are dealing with people's health and life. That policy needs to be reviewed and removed. When an account is up to date, there should be no restrictions.

DO NOT call the nurse line for anything. You’ll be better off googling symptoms! They called 911 and made me stay on hold then 911 basically told me off. I don’t even have anything serious that I told them about. Basically you call the nurse line about something simple and they have to call 911 no matter what so they don’t get sued. Useless. Don’t advertise a nurse line for advice when that’s NOT at all what it is. Now I just feel bad about wasting 911 time and right where I started with a simple question.
