We no longer have BlueCross and BlueShield but while we did I LOVED what they covered... After having 3 of my babies and having BlueCross BlueShield be our primary insurance we had awesome coverage and when I got the bill it wasn't even half what I thought it would be... Always great customer service treating me with respect. Can not say enough good things about BlueCross BlueShield

I have dealt with a lot of health insurance companies, but BlueCross Blueshield has always given exceptional service. I had another company for a time and had to check on every bill because the coding and billing was incorrect, while BlueCross Blueshield didn't get it wrong even one time! And if I ever had questions about what providers were participating, or anything else, they were always to kind and helpful. It was such a breath of fresh air.

I've been trying for days, 7 days now to make a payment, the website DOES NOT LOAD when I try to log in, it does nothing. I've tried 3 separate browsers. It took me 3 days to talk to a real person and they couldn't take my payment because I wanted to use a credit card, they were more than willing to take a payment if I gave them my bank account info though. The automated system would never accept my payment information stating it was incorrect. I FINALLY got hold of a real person and once she admitted there was something wrong with my account preventing me from making a payment through the automated system she suddenly was unable to hear me talking to her and she decided to disconnect the call. We won't even get into the fact that almost every doctor I try to use that claims to use BCBS seems to not accept my specific plan. I've called 12 different cardiologists, none of them accept my specific plan despite claiming to accept BCBS. We also won't get into the fact my plan jumped 100 bucks when I renewed despite no other changes.

I've built a trusting relationship with my healthcare team. That's difficult to do. Trusting a physician with my health and guiding my healthcare takes time, as it should. But, now, because BCBS is ending its contract, I have to start completely over. Healthcare insurance companies seem to care more about not paying than the care and wellbeing of its customers. It's sad that you care about money more than humankind. Do better.

I had 4 on-line agents tell me my account was good to go and paid for but after I did not receive my ID card and called back I learned my account was on hold and they needed to escalate. Promises from the agent to call to update me on the status did not happen. I paid the premium in advance for the whole year and still the account was left on hold. Multiple agents could not provide me a reason for the continued hold. Somewhere their system is clearly broken and can frustrate applicants and existing accounts for no apparent reason and just escalate to the back office which is probably the database team.

Bluecross is treating my body as test and trial - Heinous crimes. I always thought Bluecross has a good benefit feature than other providers like UHG. Our company recently changed the benefit from UHG to Bluecross and thats when the problem started to an extend where my rights to have the right medication for my sickness is bluntly manipulated by Blueshield insurance company. I have been seeing Dr. Michael Stevens, a rheumatologist for over 6 years now and I have been on ramacade unfusion for over 6 years now. When I finally getting to see the real results in a positive way back in 2021/22 time frame, I was so happy to see some progress in my health and it was like a miracle. Back then I had UHG, and not Bluecross. Eversince Bluecross came into our current benefit, first of all, they started pushing me to move from ramacade to Avsola for no reason. I started showing worse symptoms when I started taking Avsola. Docctor has the record and history on how my health was deteriorating because of Avsola. Now, Bluecross wont cover enough to pay for the Avsola and my doctor's office said they cant administer Avsola because the reimbursement is so low that they cant even afford to work with bluecross. The grand scheme of Bluecross what i think is - they have a better business deal with other inferior pharma medecation and trying to push those medications down patients throat without thinking at all about patient's life. I dont want my body to be treated as a test trial for insurance and pharma to make money and let my body and life suffer because of that. I have already sent the entire history to my company's legal health advocate to investigate and take help so that this doesnt happen to other employees within the organization and we would eventually regret our company switched from UHG to Bluecross. I will be spreading this across my other social media channels - LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTik. I am just waiting for my twitter account to be re-activated. My final advise is - If you dont want to take risk with your health insurance and have any chronic diseases like arthritis, beware before choosing the provider.

Amazing insurance I had a PPO and it was great. Loved my referral. and that it was easy to get procedures done because I didn't need a referral. If you have the choice choose Blue Shield.

I don't really like insurance companies because I feel like they are trying to rip me off. But BCBS is pretty good. Every doctor I've called has accepted them and the customer service people are friendly and professional.

Blue cross blue shield is wonderful insurance! They have affordable and fair rates for their plans. They can custom fit a plan for you with a payment you can easily afford. I have used blue cross blue shield for about 4 years and I won't swap to anyone else unless my doctor stops taking it.

BCBS is excellent in communicating coverage including fees and charges that are approved or in/out of network. BCBS is trustworthy and provides valuable information in their convenient online portal.

I was told by friends and family that this is a good company. It seemed to be true until my wife who is on my plan tried to get a procedure pre-certified and BCBS essentially refused to do it based on nothing as far as I can tell? It was as if their automated system had an issue with some input and BCBS couldn't fix it. The patient help line did all they could but admitted they couldn't fix it and all they could do was refer it to precert which was per them overloaded and inadequate. The Drs office waited on hold for hours and when I tried to contact the precertification line I was on hold for over an hour (twice) before the recording hung up on me. This is service? I eventually got through and the guy at BCBS said that even though the Drs office had done the submission via their system they would have to fax the request as well to a special number. We're still waiting for service and meanwhile my wife is going without critical health care?!? Will BCBS refund my premiums for their lack of service? I'm not holding my breath. I wish I would've stayed with Humana.

BCBS is now a nickel and dime inc. co. This past month I went to the doctor for routine blood tests and I got the surprise of my life this time when the bill came. I was charged $606 from labcorp then BCBS said they gave me a "discount" then the bill was down to $49.50 which was my share, WTF? When I called BCBS the guy tells me they never paid labcorp a dime, so how am I on the hook for this and the provider was in network. Both of these companies are crooks and need to be investigated for this here in MN. I plan to take my complaint on BCBS to the Atty. general of MN. Keith E and we all know who he put in jail last year. After Dec. of this year I will dump BCBS and just use my Medicare with a supplement carrier. BCBS sucks and their people are horrible to deal with always giving you the run around.

I'd rather go to the dentist for a root canal than have to deal with administrative issues with BCBS. I've been trying to add my daughter as a dependent on my existing account for nearly a month. I've spent hours on the phone with "customer service". Each time I call in, I have to start the entire saga over again. They've had me fill out two completely different applications, and can't seem to get her added. First, you can only fax or mail documents to them. Seriously! I have to get in the car, drive down to a fedex store and pay to get them the documents. Or, I could just drop them in the mail. Nearly a month in, and they now show both applications they made me fill out as incomplete. Meanwhile, my daughter doesn't have coverage.

Warning to women out there, I had not experienced this problem until I had BCBS, if are on birth control and lose it, going on a trip and need to refill before you go to take it with you, a patch comes off in the bath and you have to replace it early, are taking it the full month to skip periods, etc, BCBS has a limit on how early you can refill the prescription. You could find yourself without ability to get your prescription for a couple of weeks if you cannot afford it yourself. If this happens on a weekend you are SOL getting a hold of anyone at the company in my experience.

It is not affordable for a single mother as me, with only one salary. The deductible are very expensive. Unfortunately, it is the insurance provide for my company. And I need a health insurance because I have health conditions and I take medications every day. So, I am scare that I can't be able of receive a good treatment without an insurance. I have to recognize that it take some advantage: you have a long list of doctors and specialists with this plan and you don't need authorization of the plan to go with a specialist and to make laboratories or procedures as endoscopy, etc.

Overall they have been a good provider. Some of the things I think they could do a better job. My child had to have an x-ray done and the doctor didn’t have the equipment in their office so we had to go to the hospital and do an outpatient one. And of course they didn’t cover it because of it.

This is the worst insurance me and my husband have ever had. With a high deductible of 10,000 and the only coverage that gets 100% without meeting the deductible is preventative. The reason i'm giving such a bad review is i learned that prenatal care is considered preventative. Blue Cross does not consider prenatal care preventive and will not cover one visit until we meet our $10,000 deductible. This does not include our premiums that my husband and i pay each month. There is no point in having this insurance when they cover nothing but a routine physical. i should just save the premium and put in into a health savings account. Blue Cross Blue Shield is the worst insurance company out there.

I have been with Blue Cross for over 10 years. And I have found that they are average in every way. Their customer service is mediocre. I called to get help finding a breast pump that was covered under insurance, and they were unable to help me and told me to just buy one and then maybe it would be covered. I spent many hours on the phone trying to get an answer before a supervisor finally gave me that response. There are many locations that are out of network for them and it makes it difficult to find a provider. I often get reminders from companies that they have not paid out their portion of the bill and in some cases it has been after months of follow-ups that they payout or send reimbursements.

I have always had a wonderful experience with BCBS Fed, they have always had great customer service, great coverage, and great benefits. However, I gave them only a four rating because of how expensive they are. Unfortunately I will be switching insurance companies because of the spike in price every year.

The health insurance that I have received from BCBS is through an employer. Their health coverage covers a great deal more than other insurance companies I have used in the past, they are accepted many places, and somewhat easy to get in touch with should a situation arise. I have had some run-ins where I was charged more than I was supposed to be and it took a while to resolve with BCBS but it did get worked out.

Nice mobile app, updates every day about claims, mostly good costumer care, detailed explanation of benefits. But very convoluted, will end up paying a lot out of pocket costs, as there would he no clarity given before the service. My service provider says speak to your insurance and regence says speak to your provider. In this game, we will end up paying out of frustration, lack of legal medical knowledge and busy work. Copays and deductibles are reasonable. 20% coinsurance and the things they don't cover make this sometimes ridiculous expensive. Specially in a year like 2020.
