This is without a doubt the worst company I have ever dealt with and the worst insurance company ever. They are incompetent. Customer service reps are clueless and untrained. The amount I owe is always incorrect. They cannot manage to even mail ID cards. It is as if clowns are running the place. They should not be allowed to sell anything never mind health insurance. Pathetic pathetic company. If you can get insurance from anyone else--do it. You will be sorry if you go with Ambetter. Their name should be Amworse.

I selected Ambetter Insurance based on one criteria: My cardiologists were in their provider directory. BUT my cardiologists office, after much discussion, says that Ambetter refuses to pay them because they ARE NOT actually providers. Even though they are in the directory, and have been so for over a year, they are not actually providers. Bait and switch - show providers that are not really providers in order to lure people in. Then refuse to pay those same providers.

I have been making payments for 2 months and can still not get in the system nor will Ambetter send me any information or my member ID. They gave me 3 doctors in my city to call. The phone numbers were all wrong. And, the dotors appear to be in a town way north of me if they exist at all. I think that this is more than incompetance. This bisiness model is deigned to collect money and never provide anything. Pathetic and a scam company.

How in the world can this company be rated above a 1 with the comments. They are horrible. No providers, their customer service is staffed by untrained, uninformed folks (told me to go to ER/Urgent care to primary care service), don't return calls. How do they stay in business. No providers accepting patients in GA, offering services in Jacksonville, FLA - really great. On line access doesn't work half the time. Please report them to your State Insurance Commissioner. I did and let's see what happens.

Terrible customer service. First, Health Care gov has an option to pay my first premium online, however I am not able to because of a glitch in the site. I have called multiple times to pay by phone, but because I don't have a member id yet, I am not allowed to. And I can't get through to a representative because I'm on hold for an extremely long time and then the phone hangs up. Every time i try to get straight to the live representative option, the call ends. I don't understand and I'm very annoyed. Awful awful awful.

Been with them several years and they are so-so, probably about like most insurance companies. They're provider network is a little thin. They've done fine on small claims but I don't trust that they would honor a major one. The awards program/rebate is useful for easy items (flu shot), but some of the other awards take too many hours to earn.

Ambetter denies claims saying preauthorization was needed even after saying it was not needed over the phone. There customer service is awful. Of shore call center where the people are difficult to understand constantly put you on hold and just want to get you off the phone so they can move on and not help the next person.

Awful Customer service from 3 different cs reps today. Last call was a foreigner named 'John' he was no help at all. Asked for a list of providers and he refused stating for me to go online to view covered doctors. It seems to be NO communication between marketplace.gov and Am better Insurance company. When it comes to sending payment for your healthcare coverage, Ambetter pulled the money out of my account and still I had to show proof that I made my payments to Ambetter . There’s no trust. Please! hold onto your receipts you will need them later.

Ambetter's directory of physicians is very misleading. A large percentage of the doctors listed in the Ambetter directory don't actually accept Ambetter insurance or are no longer available. As a result, patients have far less choices than advertised. This feels fraudulent.

Having had Ambetter previously myself and my wife has it. We both have found Ambetter will deny coverage for clearly medically required surgeries. Avoid this company if you can. If you don’t die from old age being on hold and then getting wrong answers and no results you will suffer from denied medical needs!

Where is the zero star. The Ambetter Value Silver 32 plan is the most useless plan. None of the provider showing up on my list by zipcode take value plan so not sure why they are on the ambetter website. You call customer service and they also read through same list of doctors from the website. Clueless now ????

One month into having ambetter and they denied coverage for an ongoing prescription my child has been taking for the past year and a half. They also denied a procedure my doctor recommended for me. I hate that open enrollment is only once per year. I would drop them in a heartbeat and go back to Blue Cross Blue Shield.

I went to a physical therapy appointment because that is why I purchased the insurance, which is over a thousand a month. I will only have 8 visits approved and it will cost me more with insurance than if I were to pay cash out of pocket. I cancelled all my PT appointments.

I have been forced onto Ambetter via the Marketplace for the last several years and they are only getting worse! I had so many denied claims in 2021. And when you call, no one knows why. Or I get someone with such a heavy accent, I cannot understand them. I stress so badly over my health costs.

Paying 985 monthly premium with $8333 deductible. That's $20,000 out of pocket. They deny everything my doctors recommend. only generic medications are approved. The only medication that works isn't generic so it's not available to me. I'm cancelling my insurance so I can pay out of pocket for care. Totally useless company. Don't bother!

Have to get approval for almost everything and they decline most covered by others such as Anthem and Unitedhealth. They rule over your Doctor to decline services and deny some expensive prescriptions. Tried this company and switched to another company already.
