Their provider directory is outdated and incorrect, and even when you call and speak to a live person, they give you names that will not take you as a patient. I spoke to a few doctors on the list and every provider has refused to work with them. They are a pain even for the providers. Not worth even for free. The worst company I have ever dealt with. Tried to cancel and they told me 14 day process. Then they took away my tax credit which raised my bill from $108 to $678. Now they need 30 days to review the notes. In the meantime they are charging me a late fee for a month of charges I should have never been charged for. Do yourself a favor and go with another insurance company cause Ambetter should be Amworst!

I am absolutely fed up with Ambetter! They are the the worse insurance company you will come across! I live in MS zip code 39507. They only have 1 dermatologist within network in my area and he only come in MS one Friday a month. He works out of FL. For a OBGYN they offer no women doctors that are in network. If you ever call Ambetter the reps will be rude to you and give you incorrect information. I do not recommend Ambetter and I will be getting rid of this insurance asap! Very disappointed with the lack of help and service.

They steal your money and never actually help you... no one answers the phones so the 24/7 help is a lie, most doctors won't take this insurance and they pretty much refuse to give you an approval unless your dying. I've had several insurance policies over my lifetime and this is, without a doubt, the worst. However, because I purchased it through the Marketplace, I'm stuck with it until the end of the year. Each time I try to choose a doctor from the list provided online or call Customer Service, it always ends up that the doctor doesn't take Ambetter for new patients. They don't cover 2 meds that I need. And that's not to mention the $6,850 deductible per person. Insane. None of this is revealed when you're buying the policy of course. Stay away!!!

Ambetter is absolutely terrible. They offer rewards for doing things like taking Nutrition quizzes and visiting your PCP, only problem is that it's near impossible to use the money.. I received my 'debit card' that is supposed to be how to use the money you earn and I tried it several time with no success. Called literally 3 times and emailed back and forth a few times and got nowhere. Nobody knew anything about it and nobody knew how to fix it. Then after a few months it just magically worked. Next month it wouldn't work again.. unbelievable.

Never, ever do business with Ambetter! They took a payment in November of 16 then didn't provide member packet. When filing tax return I find they didn't issue a 1095A Called on 3/16 to learn that policy was canceled and they would not issue 1095A. Suggested I call back on 3/20 to inquire about refund. THEY TOOK MY MONEY, DIDN'T PROVIDE COVERAGE AND THEN MAKE YOU JUMB THROUGH HOOPS FOR A REFUND!

I have called 17 Dr's on their list. They either don't exist or don't accept Ambetter. Finally found 1 at a clinic an hour away! This is the worst I've ever seen in ANY company for ANY thing! EVER! Only had one doctor in my local area that was on their plan and accepting new patients. That doctor's office was unable to confirm my coverage, even after multiple attempts. When I tried to contact customer support, Ambetter customer support number repeatedly disconnected (i was on a landline). Finally had to get a supervisor to call my provider directly.

They are always very nice when you call, but after 15 calls (over an 8 month period) they still can not fix a claim for $33.00 that I was billed incorrectly for a wellness visit. I also contacted them via their online contact form (which says someone will respond within 48 hours) and no one has ever called me. I've written 2 letters - no one calls. I would suggest you not purchase insurance through this company - heaven forbid the problem would be with a claim for hundreds or thousands of dollars.....

My plan just kicked in today and I've called 3 doctors listed on their website for a pretty urgent need and all of them have said they don't take this insurance. I had no idea this was even a thing that could happen to this scale and to be honest I am absolutely terrified that I won't be able to get the care that I need. Despite the fact that healthcare.gov has sent our paperwork to Ambetter, they still can't figure out our tax credit. After multiple phone calls to both parties and no resolution from Ambetter, Ambetter lying on their website about doctors who take their plan (the closes gyno for my wife is 200 miles away) my patience for Ambetter's incompetence is up. I sat on the phone with helthcare.gov for two hours to switch insurance companies at the deadline.

Customer service is a joke. I have yet to call and get any help. I get cut off every time I go on hold. I have gotten two bills and still no card or packet with my plan. The website took my payment but now I can not login, or reset my login. All it requires is a DOB and the member ID. I had to call to even get my member ID. This carrier is a joke. Ambetter is horrible! I've just been trying to fill a prescription for a week and a half and can not get an answer if it is approved or denied. When I call they say they can't give me any information or a status, and tell me only my doctor office can call and get that information. However they are not giving them an answer either. Multiple problems with the ambetter site when we get a log in. It shows you nothing! Very dissatisfied. I will be switching insurance companies.

Ambetter is horrible. To get a hold of someone takes forever. Once you get a hold of someone, they ask you the same 6 questions to verify your account. Which is completely unnecessary. The so called, "My Health Pays" rewards program is nice, however, they will not reimburse you for the last 2 months, November and December. They screwed me for 2 years in a row. Lastly, all the doctors offices I've been to hate Ambetter. Once they know you're a Ambetter customer, they start treating you like you're a Medicare customer.

Worst customer service. Automated voice asked for several personal pieces of ID info then customer service rep asked for it all again. Could not get anyone to transfer my call to a supervisor. Ambetter did not renew the contract for the primary car physician I selected and the group the doctor is with in August of 2015, yet it is January 2017 and the doctors in this group are still in Ambetters website.

Ambetter in early 2017 is failing to maintain current information regarding what health care providers accept patients with Ambetter insurance. Of the hundreds listed in my area, the overwhelming majority were redundant listings of the county health care system (Ambetter seems to seperately list every doctor who works for the county health care system). Most of the rest of the "providers" listed were not actually providing services for Ambetter patients, and, of the remaining few who were, the earliest appointment I could make was over 90 days out.

I've had this plan for a year and I still don't have a primary care provider. They gave me a list of doctors, but when I called each one (at least five), most of them weren't actually affiliated with Ambetter! The ones that were affiliated weren't taking new patients. I finally found a doctor who would see me within Chicago city limits, and the insurance company never updated my primary care provider info so she wouldn't see me again. Also, they only answer the phone during business hours. The 24/7 customer care claim is false.

Scam service. Received an invoice from the company and never signed up. Somehow they are trolling the health insurance marketplace for expiring plans and, unrequested, 'signing you up' and sending invoices (at full rate w/o any tax credit). For 12 of the last 15 months I was happy with my Ambetter health insurance. NOT HAPPY ANY LONGER! I went in for my yearly eye exam which under my plan is %100 covered. Much to my dismay Ambetter has refused to pay Rockwood health care. (Referred to by Ambetter as an in network provider) rockwood has now turned me over for collection ($350.00) because I will not pay them. Ambetter is clearly in breach of my policy and simply will not pay. Do not do business with Ambetter or Rockwood. You will be sorry!

My husband's dr wrote his script for his insulin to say one time a day, when it was 3 times a day, we did not catch this until time to refill it and of course it was not time according to the records, the dr sent a new script with the correct dosage on it, and they are still refusing it. So far I had to pay out of pocket for 3 out of 4 prescriptions, none of the specialists I see are in-network and I have tried to locate a replacement for one of them in Indiana and the nearest approved doctor is in Toledo, Ohio! In my area, Temple Texas, only a few health providers took Ambetter. They have all recently stopped. There must be a reason. Only one doctor takes it. She's 45 miles away and sucks! all of her reviews are bad. The providers their web site states take Ambetter, do not. Available physicians they advertise do not exists. Its cheap though. Worst heath insurance on the planet.....dont walk, RUN away from this company. They have been a complete nightmare to deal with. Their customer service is the worst. As just one example of many, I have had to reschedule my doctor's appointment three times because of incorrect information in their system. Every time i call i am told the new info will be updated in 24 hours and it never is. When I call back, there is no record of my previous call and the whole process starts all over again. I pray this place goes out of business. Open enrollment cannot come quick enough!!

You are literally paying for nothing. Nobody will accept them. The doctors listed on their website as in network don't accept them. If they did they stopped because they weren't getting paid. Good luck finding a specialist, closest one we found is 1800 miles away. The only other option listed is 1849 miles away. Customers service is either in the dark about their network, or paid well enough to pretend. Oh, and the only primary care physician in all of downtown Chicago is the free clinic, although according to their scammy or outdated website there's dozens. .

Do not sign up for the dental/vision option. That is unless you want mercury fillings instead of white composite as this is what they cover for the molars. My 1st visit to one of the providers office opened my eyes to all that us not covered even partially. Better to pay out of pocket for your dental because thats what you will end up doing if you care about receiving quality dental service.
