Costco is a well-known brand across the United States and in many parts of the world. To add to its retail products, it has Optical centers in a number of its warehouses. Costco Optical is a full-service eye care and eyewear provider. It provides access to appointments with an eye doctor to identify prescriptions and a team of opticians to help customers find the perfect pair of prescription eyeglasses, sunglasses, or contact lenses.

Pricing

Costco Optical has become known for its pricing. Though complete pricing is not specifically listed online, the median cost of frames, lenses, and protective coatings is about $180. This is not by any means the lowest price on the market, but it is lower than a number of other eyeglass providers.

Prescription Eyeglasses

The Costco Optical department wants each customer to successfully find the perfect pair of glasses. The following recent features have been made available to better cater to the needs of Costco Optical customers:
Wider front — Frames are made with extra space between each of your temples.
Curved temples — To provide extra headroom to the wearer, a slight temple curve is provided to make sure that the glasses fit perfectly.
Narrow bridge — For those who need a little bit extra bridge support the narrow

Designer Sunglasses

If you are looking to purchase a pair of designer sunglasses but don't want to pay full price for them, Costco Optical sells a number of designer brands for lower prices than the original retailers. The following are some of the brands sold by Costco Optical:

  • Kirkland Signature
  • Balmain
  • Fula
  • Hobie
  • Kate Spade
  • Maui Jim
  • Oakley
  • Ray-Ban
  • Serengeti
  • Vera Bradley
  • Vera Wang
  • XOXO

Contact Lenses

Unlike many of its competitors, Costco Optical sells contact lenses in addition to its prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses. Contacts can be ordered online streamlining the purchasing process. The following brands are currently available for sale online:

  • Acuvue
  • Air Optix
  • Avaira
  • Biofinity
  • BioTrue
  • Clariti
  • Clearsight
  • Dailies
  • Freshlook
  • Kirkland
  • MyDay
  • Optima
  • Proclear
  • Purevision
  • Soflens
  • Ultra

Eye Exams

One of the challenges of purchasing eyeglasses online or from a retailer is the need to sit down with an ophthalmologist or optometrist and have an eye exam. Costco Optical has hired a number of optometrists to help with vision and eye health exams. This is a service that a number of online retailers are unable to provide. Exams take place at or near your local Costco warehouse. As part of this appointment, the optometrist will check your eyes for astigmatism as well as help identify your prescription. If you would like to schedule an appointment with an eye doctor, you can do so on Costco Optical's website.

Discounts

Costco provides good prices for those who purchase in bulk. In order to maintain this reputation, Costco Optical offers $30 off of a second pair of glasses purchased at the same time of your first purchase.

Variety of Top-selling Lenses

The eyeglass industry offers a number of different lens options to fit the needs of a wide variety of eyeglass wearers. Customers can work with an optician and/or an ophthalmologist to find the perfect lenses for their prescription and personal needs. Costco Optical has a number of different lenses available for sale. They include the following:

  • HD Progressive Lenses — These lenses help provide high definition vision at any distance. They come with an anti-reflective treatment and are custom made for your prescription and frame selection.
  • Bifocal Lenses — With a separating line in the middle, bifocal lenses are made to help with both near and distance vision.
  • Single Vision Lenses — For those who only need lenses to correct one distance, the single vision lens are a great choice.
  • Polarized Lenses — The polarized lenses protect your eyes against glare and also block 100 percent of UV rays. For an additional cost, they can be made with a silver, gold, or blue mirror coating.
  • Transitions Photochromic Lenses — Transition lenses provide users with both prescription eyeglasses and prescription sunglasses. These lenses are perfectly clear while you are indoors and begin to darken immediately upon exposure to the sun. They also help protect against harmful blue light, reduce glare, eye fatigue and strain, and block 100 percent of UV rays. A specialty drivewear version of these transition lenses is also available helping reduce excess light and optimizing color contrast. They activate to a copper color which helps enhance color recognition and depth perception.
  • Blue Anti-Reflective Treatment — Blue light rays are known to disrupt the natural sleep cycle and in some cases damage the retina. The blue anti-reflective treatment helps reduce damage to the eye and allows beneficial blue light to pass through for increased clarity.
  • Anti-Reflective Treatment — The anti-reflective coating is used to sharpen visual performance, reduce eye fatigue and reflections at night, and decrease the amount of reflection that others can see on the surface of your lenses.
  • Multi-functional Lens — These lenses are similar to progressive lenses. The difference is that the intermediate reading area is much larger than it is in progressive lenses. This helps maintain a comfortable head posture while working at a computer and can help reduce eyestrain, tired eyes, and headaches.

Eye Care Products

In addition to prescription eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses, Costco Optical also sells the following eye care products:

  • Lubricant eye drops
  • Lens cleaning tissues
  • Redness reliever eye drops
  • Multi-purpose solution
  • Multi-purpose disinfecting solution

The Bad

  • Online Shopping
  • Scratched Lenses
  • Distortion in Lenses
  • Poor Quality Coatings
  • Long Wait
  • Customer Service
  • Must Have a Membership

Online Shopping

When you are looking for eyeglasses, one of the most important factors is being able to select frames that you like. Costco Optical does not provide a section on its website allowing customers to see all of its frames. If you would like to shop for frames, you will need to go to your local Costco warehouse. We hope that Costco Optical adds a frames inventory to its website soon.

Scratched Lenses

Recent Costco Optical reviews have mentioned frustration with lenses getting scratched easily. This has been attributed to cheap materials being used on the lenses. If you have been prone to scratching your glasses in the past, Costco Optical may not be a good idea for you.

Distortion in Lenses

Some customers have mentioned that their glasses have been distorted on the sides of the lenses. Some thought it might be due to an astigmatism, but the majority felt that the lenses were very poorly made, causing a number of problems. A number of these customers stopped using the glasses all together as they felt it was even more damaging to their eyes.

Poor Quality Coatings

The most common complaint found in Costco Optical reviews is that the coatings put on the glasses to protect from blue light, UV rays, etc. have begun peeling shortly after purchasing the glasses. Some have peeled from the sides, while others have begun peeling from random places in the middle of the lenses. This has made wearing the glasses very difficult and frustrating.

Long Wait

There have been a number of complaints about the wait time at Costco Optical centers. If you are planning to go to a physical location to get help from an optician with your glasses, plan to be there for a good amount of time. Some customers have waited for anywhere from 30 minutes to over an hour.

Customer Service

Costco Optical reviews have not been very positive when discussing customer service. Not only have customers waited for long periods of time, but they have felt that the customer service representatives have not been very helpful. Customers who have returned glasses or tried to discuss issues with recently purchased glasses have not been pleased with the efforts made to solve the problems.

Must Have a Membership

In order to purchase eyeglasses from Costco optical, you have to have a Costco membership. If you do not have a membership and do not want to purchase one, you will need to look elsewhere for your eyeglasses.

gavel

The Bottom Line

If you shop at Costco, this is a great way to kill two birds with one stone. If you do not currently have an eye doctor and need to find out what your prescription is, you can do this after purchasing your groceries. If you are on a tight budget, it may be beneficial to look at a couple other companies to see if you can find a price that is better for you. If you are worried that you will damage your glasses easily, you also might want to look for a company that provides quality protection coatings.

This is my first experience going to the optometrist in Cosco, specifically redding California . It was a great experience. The optometrist Amy S was super knowledgeable. Explained and went through in detail ,what I'm going through in relation to my eyes why there doing what there doing and what to expect etc. By far the best experience I have ever had going to a eye doctor. I left more educated when I left , than when I arrived. As far as choosing glasses , Jen G was also super kind and knowledgeable and made it an enjoyable experience.

I have enjoyed using Costco after I had an insurance change which forced me to use Costco optical. Now I don't know why I haven't used them for years! The opticians are knowledgeable and guided me to the correct sized frames for my small face. I had never even known there were sizes before!!

I went to Costco from Specsavers because they seemed to have a good range and the the price, I paid was very close to what I was paying elsewhere. I found a good frame and their initial customer service was good, but it all changed when I complained of headaches from the new glasses a couple of months later. Had to wait for a long while to be seen and the optometrist wanted to charge me again for another eye test and when I protested, she did it free but also found nothing wrong. She said there was nothing wrong with the spectacles and there was nothing else she could do. I also tried to get the screws tighten with no luck because the wait is always wrong. Specsaves would gladly tighten it for me despite knowing the frame was not theirs, so this year I returned to Specsavers and they have matched the price with their premium lenses. Costco has lost me because of their attitude and poor and/or non-existent customer service. I do not recommend Costco for eyeglasses.

I used Costco Optical to purchase prescription eye glasses. Costco has a nice selection of glasses for the family including designer options. Their pricing is great with low cost options. The only thing that could be improved upon is the durability of the frames.

Optical at Roseville, California: On October 11, 2023, I visited this place to order a prescription glasses. I would like to send my appreciation to Rhonda, the Optical Technician who helped me find glasses that fit my face shape. Rhonda spent time with me trying to find glasses that I would be comfortable wearing. Her demeanor is outstanding and very professional in all ways. I couldn't help myself writing this review for I received satisfactory supervision by Rhonda. Thank you, Rhonda!

Today October 14,2023. I went to Norwalk, CT Costco to buy my first pair of glasses in my 60 years of age. I went a little nervous and undecided. Fortunately, I found the most profesional, kind, patient and friendly representative who helped me along the way to take a decision I expected to be very difficult. His name is LUIS R. I will recommend him to all of you. You will find a profesional and empathetic young person.

Costco Optical likes or dislikes Costco Optical is a department within Costco Wholesale, a membership-based warehouse club. Costco Optical provides a range of eyewear products and services, including eyeglasses, contact lenses, and prescription sunglasses. They offer a variety of frame styles and brands to choose from, including both designer and budget options. One of the advantages of Costco Optical is that they often provide competitive pricing for their eyewear products compared to traditional optical retailers. Costco members can take advantage of discounts and promotions on frames, lenses, and contact lenses. Additionally, Costco Optical typically offers a satisfaction guarantee and provides warranty options for their eyewear products. Another benefit of Costco Optical is the availability of licensed optometrists on-site in many locations. They can perform eye exams and provide prescriptions for eyeglasses or contact lenses. However, it's important to note that eye exams may require an additional fee. Customers generally appreciate the value and affordability offered by Costco Optical, as well as the convenience of being able to get their eye exams and purchase eyewear in one location. However, like any retailer, experiences can vary, and it's always a good idea to research and read reviews specific to your local Costco Optical location before making a decision. Remember that this information is accurate as of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, and it's possible that Costco Optical's services and offerings may have changed since then.

I have for decades been going to the full range of moderate to expensive eyeglass stores, sometimes getting pairs I loved and sometimes not. Often losing them to my great grief and serious loss to my wallet. A pair of progressive lenses and another pair of Rx sunglasses and I was spending $1000 with insurance and a discount. I figured the price was worth paying compared to the risk of getting a poor set of glasses from a place not Costco. I couldn't have been more wrong. I got a pair of progressives and a pair of progressive sunglasses for a total of $320 at Costco and I'm delighted with their quality. The lenses are better than the glasses I bought for more than $500 at the medium-priced store in town. The vision is clear and crisp, the sturdy cool store-brand Kirkland Signature frames averaged less than $50 with two-pair discount. I had filled my prescription elsewhere so I can't vouch for the optometric services, which are inexpensive. The quality and low prices of the operation makes vision insurance unnecessary if you're on Medicare,

Have only had my prescription glasses for 10 months. I took my glasses off the other night and one of the ear extensions fell off - took it back to Costcoo - they were sorry they couldn't fix it. Sorry is right. I expected them to warranty it. The glasses have not been abused. Also the lenses are near impossible to get clean - probably because the protective finishes peel off or scratch easily.

Me and my wife just have our glasses made by Cotsco, in Drummondville, Quebec, Canada. My wife had already prescription and just bought the glasses. For my part I had my optical exam at Cotsco and bought my glasses there as well. Let me tell you how it went: Since I am over 65 years of age, the optical exam is free exept for one optional part which cost a minor fee of 30$ which I obviously took. They ask for the 30$ before I went to see the specialist. I thought it was weird but I went on with it- Do they think I won't pay (Why should I pay before I've had my exam?). I still kept my cool. When I saw the specialist, the first question he ask me was : What are you doing here, why do you want new glasses (and that before any prior exam). I've had glasses since I'm 13 years old, The last time I went to see an optometrist was two years ago and my presciption had change but no enough to buy new glasses. And like I said the exam is free for people my age. And of course, my eyesight had change for the worse. So what type of question was that ? (I said in my head). Afterwards, he took the exam, and I ask him some questions about the differences I had with my old prescription, three times without getting a real answer. He knew what prescription I had because someone examine my old glasses to compare. I had not a great experience with the optometrist and if ever I go back again (which I'm not sure), I will arrive with a prescription from my last optemetrist. Now that the exam was done, I chose my glass mount and had to pay, 70% deposit to confirm that I wanted them but it would be better to pay all. I, and my wife also, gave reluctantly gave a 70% deposit. Is there a law against a minum deposit, I don't know but when they ask you for such an amount you get scare, you're thinking are they going to be there next week! Still I went with it, but I was quite shocked. Not that I didn't have the money but that they do not trust their own customers to pay... I don't know what to think ! When I went back to get my glasses, they ask me to pay the remaining balance of 30% without even having seen and tries my glasses. I said no, I require to see and tried my glasses before doing it. The woman cried out loud "the customer does not want to pay" to another colleague beside her. She responde ny giving her a nod that to do as I wanted. But the harm, was done. All the other 20 customers around the counter had heard that I didn't want to pay but had no idea what was going on. I tried my glasses, there were fine and I finally paid. I don't know what type of service they give but this is the worst service I've had for many years. What is that thing they have to ask to pay without having the goods (exams and glasses). Yes I save about 33% from where I usually went to get my glasses but was all this worth it ? I felt like I was being insulted and they didn'nt even feel that was the case. It's all in a normal day of working... It's for you to answer!

I used Costco Optical for the first time this year. It was very quick and easy to get an appointment with the on-site Optometrist. It was user easy and quick to pick out a pair of new glasses inside the store. There was a really good selection of frames. I had a hard time picking just one pair. I have had them for 3 months and wear them every day. The cost was extremely reasonable. The only draw back is that they were not ready in an hour like other places , but they were worth the wait.

I agree with most of what is written in this review. It must be a few years old because now Costco sale special is $50 off each additional pair. Mostly representatives are helpful but there are differences between them as some listen better than others. I think the coatings have gotten better and do not scratch as easily. My biggest gripe is that the anti-reflective coating as of May 2023 is not perfectly clear. There is a yellowish tint to it that is very similar to the blue anti-reflective coating color. My glasses purchased recently around the same time from other vendors are perfectly clear. I believe for eyeglasses of matching quality from Costco, the prices can’t be beat. My HD progressive eyeglasses were under $200 for each pair, including tax with coupon.

I have found that the lens at Costco are sturdier than many you get at Target, Walmart, and especially at Lens Crafters. I have a degree in vision care several yrs ago so I have different perspective on things. Many times people do not take care of their lenses such as cleaning them properly using a cloth instead of Kleenex. Putting them in a case instead of leaving them out. Even the way you take off your glasses makes a big difference as to how they will hold up. I have never worked for Costco but have worn glasses all my life and have had many of them break or scratch really bad. The pair of glasses I am currently wearing I have had for almost 4 yrs and only now are starting to show wear. I would highly recommend Costco glasses over many others hands down.

Needed to get glasses for my 92-year-old dad… I had dad in the car with me but I did not take him in to the store because it was cold and windy out, he uses a walker and was running very low on energy that day…. I took his existing frames and new prescription into the optical department at Costco in TF… Andrew was the employee that helped me… I told him what I needed and that I could get dad into the store, but it would be difficult and would take some time… Andrew said not to worry that he could get dad, his new glasses without having him come into the store… well, Andrew made three separate trips into the parking lot to visit with my dad and take measurements for the new glasses…WOW! I have not witnessed customer service like that in a very long time! I never expected curbside service, but Andrew definitely went above and beyond to take care of my dad and get him his new glasses…. Thank you Andrew and I will definitely be a lifelong Costco customer…. My dad was really touched and could not say enough nice things about Andrew and his customer service skills…..

I’ve worn glasses my entire life. From cradle to grave, this was the best experience and the best product I’ve ever had. The eye Doctor who completed my exam was outstanding and my prescription is spot on accurate! This is the best I’ve been able to see that I can remember. The outstanding customer service didn’t end with the eye Doctor. The customer service reps were patient, thorough, honest, and all of them had the best disposition for customer service. I cannot thank them enough nor can I relay just how well I can see again!! Not only have I always simply gave my eyes time to adjust but I became accustomed to squinting to see anything at a distance. The world is now crisp and clear! Thanks to all of you who helped both me and my wife; you’ll never know how much you’ve added to our world!!

I had a great experience with Costco Optical! I had just received a less-than-ideal pair of eyeglasses from another well-known, pricey company. I took my new prescription to Costco Optical on a friend’s recommendation, after checking out the reviews online. The eyeglasses I got at Costco were perfect in every way. My lenses are progressive, and they are perfect—no sharp lines of demarcation or blurriness. As with any good optical dispensary, if you were to experience any problems with fit or vision, they will work with you to fix it. I had never been in a Costco, but I purchased a membership (necessary to get eyeglasses at Costco Optical and well worth it, as the total cost for these glasses was far less than half the price I paid recently at another well-known company). Also, I took in frames that I had purchased elsewhere. There was a very small charge for doing so (I believe it was $28). Again, the total price of my eyeglasses, including Costco membership, was FAR less than the price of other optical dispensaries. I recommend checking out at Costco Optical for your eyeglasses or contact lenses.

I am so excited to get my new prescription at Costco. The service was excellent. I picked up my new glasses yesterday. I bought two pairs of prescription glasses one being sunglasses. I've been wearing glasses for over twenty years. I've never had prescription sunglasses. I'm thrilled. I will never buy glasses from my optometrist again way too expensive and poor quality. The entire Costco prescription glasses experience was perfect, to say the least. The turn around time for two pairs was less then two weeks. I paid over 500.00 at my optometrist for just lenses. At Costco I bought two complete pairs of prescription glasses for under 400.00. lesson learned.

Costco is the only place I will ever buy my eyeglasses. Did you know that most vision insurance plans, the reason they steer you to their “in network” providers, is because the vision insurance also owns the optical store chain? The optical store is obscenely overpriced, which is why your glasses come out so expensive even though you think you’re saving money staying “in network”. It’s a total scam. Costco has a great selection of frames in all price ranges, including Costco-brand frames and designer frames. The only difference is the hugely lower cost. “Ah”, you say, “but they’re not in my provider network”. Who cares? Buy your frames and glasses totally out of pocket, submit to your vision plan as an “out of network” claim. You won’t get the same allowance, but you don’t need to. The cost can be as much as 50% lower and your net cost out-of-pocket after your claim is reimbursed will still be WAY lower. And they even DO accept some insurance plans. Don’t get suckered by your vision plan. There’s a reason they send you to the providers they do— they OWN them!

Totally satisfied Indianapolis, IN

I recently purchased a pair of glasses at Costco in fishers. I spoke to a young lady at the desk and was told the exam would be $49 and my progressive, transision, no glare, scratch resistant everything you can get lenses would be a mere $160. I chose my frames that were only $60. They even had semi-frameless titanium for $60. All included an unbelievably low price of $270 with no insurance involved and no tax. That's less than I paid in the 80's. Last pair I purchased a year ago was $600+ and I was never really satisfied. The exam was very thorough and Doc. Jennings was wonderful. Very nice and knowledgeable. It took only 4 days to receive my glasses and they are the best I have ever had. The 2 lady's I talked to during my 2 visits were very sober and not very personable at all. Not mean but not pleasant. Spoke only when required. Other than that a great experience. I will go back as long as Costco offers this service.

It’s nice to be able to combine a shopping trip with an optical appointment all in one place. I have been to Costco Optical in many different locations and all the staff have been very professional, helpful, and polite. My appointments were fast and stress free. I’m only giving 4 stars because I don’t have a basis to compare to Varilux, supposedly the best. I can only say they are crystal clear, and have very good transition and peripheral view, they are progressives. By far better than the 2 for1 joints and even more affordable once you factor in the upsells. I’m impressed!

Wait time was 32 minutes for picking up my prescription glasses 2. Below is a record of the interactions. I have anonymized the name of the staff members involved. - When it was my turn, I shared with the service representative that I needed to run soon. - She checked the status of my order and asked me, “are you going to shop around here?” - I responded, “I would like to pick up my glasses now as I needed to run soon. I am flying out on the next day. What’s the status of my glasses?” - She said, “it said the glasses were shipped from lab. We have abox from the lab here. I do not plan to shop.” - she reluctantly opened the box and looked through them. She came back to me and said we don’t have it in this box so maybe it will arrive tomorrow or the day after. It usually takes two days to ship. - I asked, “when was it shipped?” - she answered, “oh I would need to call the lab to ask.” - I requested, “yes please. “ - She rang the lab up and the lab could not provide her with the shippment date. - she then asked her supervisor who was standing right next to her, “the lab could not tell me when the glasses of this order were shipped. Is there a way I can check on the shippment date on the computer?” - supervisor said, “oh yes you could go into the OPS system…etc.” - the service representative did that and managed to find that the glasses were shipped the Friday before (June 16, 2023), which is more than two days ago. - I called out, “June 16 is last Friday. It’s more than two days ago so it should already be here.” - The supervisor and the representative looked at me, looked at each other, could not respond. - After a minute, someone opened the cabinet of ready glasses. And the representative found my glasses there! - The supervisor then said, “oh they must have arrived this morning.” This is a classic example of inefficiency. It is ironic that such inefficiency exists at Costco where every process designed was geared towards efficiency. Instead of using the system effectively and checking the standard storage cabinet for ready glasses, the staff took all the above steps and wasted an incredible amount of time. The 3-star rating is for the fact that the glasses were actually ready and I finally have them in my hands.

I started to wear glasses 15 years ago and from the start I only have used progressive lenses, I have purchased glasses primarily from Wal- Mart, I purchase one to three pair per year. earlier on in my eye glass purchasing history I purchased a few pair from Eye-mart. and only had one experience where the correction was not appropriate and that was a pair of safety glasses with polycarbonate lenses, the near correction was impossible for me to read any thing, the lenses were remade with Nikon High index lenses and they worked perfectly, to my knowledge the two lens manufacturers that my glasses were made from were Zeiss or Nikon all high index progressive. a few years ago I tried Costco Optical and purchased the high index lenses and had the same experience I had years earlier with the safety glasses with no ability to see clearly close up, so I returned the lenses and returned to Wal-Mart and the glasses there again worked perfectly. Since the lenses at Costco are so much cheaper than Wal-Mart I though I would give it a try again, so I purchased a pair of high index lenses for general use and a pair of drive wear sunglasses for in the car, once again the same situation the distance and intermediate correction were fine but the up close was impossible to se clearly, I returned them and the Associate handling the return was not happy with the situation, he made statements " we sell 200 pairs of glasses a week and they work for everybody else" and " you should not purchase glasses from Costco any more." its like he did not believe me, It is very clear I would prefer to pay $200.00 for glasses as apposed to $500.00 If you can get glasses that work for you from Costco, I would definitely recommend them, they have the absolute best pricing. if any one can tell me why I have an issue with the Kirkland high index lenses I would love to know why. her is my prescription RX Spherical Cylindrical Axis Near Add OD +2.5 -0.50 097 +2.50 OS +2.25 -0.75 092 +2.50

Hello. I would like to take the time to let everyone know that Rick, in the optical department, is an awesome man. In today's world kindness is on the back burner and is rarely expressed. That is why I'd like to brag on Rick. He was not only thorough in fitting me for new glasses but he treated me with the upmost of kindness. He made my day today. Thank you Rick for being YOU! Sincerely, Monecia

Not sure what the deal is but in 40+ years of wearing glasses I have never been so satisfied. My wife told me to go check out Costco after I realized the glasses I wanted and would normally have purchased were $750. I have always purchased whatever glasses I wanted at the nicest shops in town regardless of price, but for some reason I had an open mind for a few minutes and went to Costco. Total charges were under $200. I love these glasses and maybe time will prove me wrong, but I think I will always buy glasses at Costco from now on.

I had a problem with my eyeglass prescription (no fault of Costco Optical). I was assisted by Chris H, Optical Mgr., & Janet M, Certified Optician. Chris listened to my concern and reviewed my prescription and my lenses. As I was driving back to the store, my eye doctor called and spoke with Janet; she called me immediately and informed me that the lenses were already ordered. They arrived in a very timely fashion and were replaced at no cost. I am a very satisfied customer and will continue to shop there.

I just had the most amazing support from Dr. Philip B at the Kingston Ontario store. I had a piece of tree pollen in my eye that required a referral to see a specialist. Dr B and his wife worked until 10 in the evening and again the next day until noon to insure that his referral made it to my specialist located in Trenton. Without their persistence I would have suffered another extremely uncomfortable day. In addition, they called the next day to check on my progress. Amazing and my highest possible recommendation to all. Thanks D. M. Knockleby, CD.

I was in need of glasses. I decided to go to Costco for my exam and glasses. What a good decision. I was so fortunate to have Peter in the optical department Woodstock, Ga. help me. I was unsure what i wanted in the way of lenses and sunglasses. Peter took a great deal of time to assist me and assured me the sale was not final unless I was satisfied. I am completely satisfied! A great product at a good price. Thank you, Peter!

I have needed my glasses tightened up for a long time. The company I bought them from did near to nothing for a year now until they completely fell apart at Costco. I went to their ophthalmology department and asked if they could fix a screw. They ended up replacing many warped screws and taking the time to hand me back what felt like brand new glasses. I'm sold, I'll only get my next pair of glasses from Costco. Also, when you bring back your empty bottle of glass cleaner, they give you a new bottle for free. So impressed.

Costco Optical has a great selection of frames and at a very good price. Getting my eyes checked with the optical physician in a very convenient way which took all of 25-30 minutes and then getting the prescription to step out of that office into Costco's frame department. All told, one hour of my time and less than $300, my glasses were ordered and now I wait for there arrival. A very pleasant and easy experience. Thank you Costco. Again.

This was my second purchase at Costco Optical, and as usual, if was a great buying experience. I got two pairs of glasses, both designer frames, and they were only $60 each. I got the Transitions lenses in one pair and the Transitions Drivewear in the other pair. I got them in less than a week. I get lots of compliments on my glasses and I paid a fraction of what I would have paid at Lenscrafters. I used to pay 6-700 dollars there for one pair. I got two pairs for under 400.00. Can't beat that.

My glasses took a while to come in. I never really could see very well in them but tolerated them. About 6 months out one of the bows started breaking off. I was told too bad too sad we don't cover our frames. I have never in my 50 years of wearing glasses, had the frames fall apart! I still have all my old frames from decades ago. Highly recommend going somewhere else!

I liked that the customer service were professionals and they could examine me for the best possible outcome. They have a great selection of eye glasses as well.

So I have been in 4 times adjusting my glasses. To which I was told in order to get the issue fixed I would need to go back to my doctor get another eye test done which I would have to pay for, and then go back in to Costco and they would redo my glasses. Which is ridiculous because my prescription is fine it’s just where those glasses are marked for my progressive glasses doesn’t match up with my eyes and where I’m seeing. When I pull them down on my nose the prescription is perfect but when I put it up where they marked it, I have blurry vision. I’m very disappointed in Costco and these glasses and my husband’s glasses have the same issue. They have such a great return policy on everything else but when it comes to glasses, I would never go back again

Very poor customer service - the specialists are more concerned about lunch breaks and the customers waiting than the customers that they are actually serving. Eyeglasses are ordered, money is paid and they don't bother to notify you that the eyeglasses are available for pick up. When you call to check on status, no attempt to check on hand products, just checked the computer that says shipped - it was actually already in the store. Upon pick up no mirror was even available to see how they looked. Price was better than the optical places, but looking elsewhere for next purchase. This store is in Mount Pleasant, SC

First time ever ordering glasses from Costco. Joe was so great to work with. He guided me to pick out the perfect frames, and also informed me of special pricing, I would definitely recommend Costco optical for your next pair of glasses
