Though everyone has been really nice and I'm not sorry I have done it, the early payoff system sucks. You have to bank money til you have enough to pay the loan off in a lump sum. I would have liked to make extra payments that went directly to the balanced owed. THIS WAS NOT EXPLAINED.

It is still early in the process for me so my opinion may change. But, right now I feel like it was not the right decision for me. I should have worked with my creditors separately and adjusted monthly payments rather try to reduce my debt. My credit score is in the toilet and I am trying to sell my house and downsize and I don’t know who will lend me money. I still pay a big monthly payment for my program and only 1out of 4 debts has been settled. I need the other big account settled to even feel remotely better. I also should not have put my small accounts in the program at all. I could have negotiated smaller payments and saved myself headaches. I am not feeling it will be worth the process to settle a smaller amount

Freedom Debt Relief. I'm unhappy with the 23% fees I'm being charged in my Freedom Debt Relief account. Fees to the total debt of which the credit card company charged. Max credit card originally was $5,000 without fees. With credit card fees amounted to (enrolled balance $6,010).. I was told by a Freedom Debt Relief rep that I would be charged 23% on the settlement amount only and not the enrolled balance but that's not what happened. Freedom Debt Relief is charging me 23% of the original amount of $6010 so I'm paying back $3741.35 on a debt that settled for $2359.05.. Yes that's $1382.30 just in fees to Freedom. So the way they break it down is like this. Enrolled Balance=$6,010.00 Current Balance (at time of settlement)=$5,897.63 Settlement Amount $2,359.05 Debt Reduction $3,538.58 Fees (calculated based on enrolled balance)=$1,382.30

3 years into this program and have been sued by 2 different creditors in the last 2 months and threatened to be sued by another. FDR was supposed to help. What am I supposed to do now? I have no more money to give and the attorney's they give you to use when being sued act like robots. They don't listen and talk in terms you can't understand. When I ask FDR why I am being sued they just tell you that it can happen and refer you to their team of lawyers who do not help. They tell me that the creditors can take money out of my bank account and garnish my social security wages. Or they tell me I can file bankruptcy. That is what I was trying to prevent to begin with and after thousands of dollars it looks like I will have to do it anyway.

While they have reduced debt for me, they also made a huge error that has cost me multiple days of from work and I’m still trying to get my bank accounts unfrozen and over $2300 returned to my account from over three month ago. They have only been minimally helpful even though this came from their error (they were to renegotiate an account and instead just stopped paying) and the help only came AFTER I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. After insisting they have done all they can and that I now had to call the law firm, I took a day off to deal with this. I was then told by the law firm that FDR was listed on the account so they couldn’t even speak with me about it. I now have a letter from them to take their name off the account but will need to take ANOTHER day from work to try to figure this out. This will be at least the fourth day, causing me additional work, stress, and costing me money. At no time have they even acknowledged the fact that this is a huge disruption to my life, let alone tried to relieve the stress. I did get them to cover late fees after much back and forth (again taking up my time).
