I called and spoken to a representative and ask to change my date from withdrawing the money from my account and she put me on hold once she returns to the call she stated it was taken care of. On 9/12/18 the money was withdrawn and I went into an overdraft due to my mortgage was scheduled for payment. I called this company and no one has an answer plus I owe for the overdraft fee. I am very upset about this issue.

Freedom Debt Relief was great for about a year, then I had an issue with a creditor removing over $360 from my personal account. When I called FDR very upset, and rightfully so, they took over 3 months to "review" it. Meanwhile, my personal checking account was bleeding red and I could not get the money returned to my account. In frustration, I requested my account be closed and my current status on my accounts and my $350 be returned. They closed my b account all right, kept everything and kept my account open long enough to use up all the money I had banked to pay bills.

This program, and other “debt relief programs”, is a scam. They prey on people’s fear and that’s how they get you. They have you pay a set amount bi-weekly/monthly. If you’re struggling with income/medical bills, you could not possibly afford to pay this amount. You’d be better off paying minimum payments to the creditors/medical providers you owe and call THEM to explain your financial situation/ask for assistance. This company is essentially robbing the poor to feed the rich. Speaking of robbery, they “mistakingly” took and additional $163 out of my account, (ironically after I had been emailing them all week asking to skip this weeks payment because I just can’t afford it...). When I called, the representative told me it was a mistake and I would be reimbursed in 3-5 business days. I told her that was not acceptable and I asked to speak to her boss. He, “Gus”, was the least customer-friendly person I’ve ever spoken to. He referred to the incident as an “unfortunate event” several times, not once taking ownership for what the company had done and when I pointed out how poorly this was being handled he interrupted me saying “Ma’am is there anything else I can help you with?” I said yeah, I want my ******* money back. Not in 3-5 business days. Right now. He informed me that was not going to happen, so I told him I wanted out of the program, which he did immediately. I still don’t have my money and I doubt I ever will. I’ve been working in customer service for 12 years. This is completely and totally unacceptable. I would have written a check out of my own pocket before treating a client this way. I am furious.

The money has not been used at all in three months. It is like Freedom does not want to pay off my accounts so they can continue to make money off of my account. Very disappointing!
