**Gabb Wireless has an F rating and pages and pages of unanswered complaints with the Better Business Bureau! Buyer BEWARE!** This company is very dishonest and their products are subpar. I have been a customer for several years. There are constant issues with pairing to the parent's Gabb app for accurate location information, the quiet settings during school don't work and my child keeps getting in trouble for his phone making noises when it's supposed to be silent. To make matters worse, I've had multiple technical issues with 2 different devices. They are not made to last, they are made to break so the company can collect ridiculous deductibles and monthly fees. Most recently, my son's phone wouldn't let him open his phone with his fingerprint or the correct password. Customer service is horrible. They don't post the number on the website to make it harder to get support - once you do get the number from the chat feature, be ready to be on hold for at least 45 minutes and then get hung up on. I finally got through after multiple attempts and the customer service rep told me we would have to do a factory reset. After going through that whole process, it caused the phone to start shutting down over and over. So I called with 1 issue and ended up with a worse problem! When I call back because the phone keeps shutting down, I'm told it'll have to be replaced and despite paying monthly for the extended warranty, I'll have to pay a deductible that is nearly the cost of the current price of the phone!! Mind you, I'm only having to replace it due to the new issue caused by the directions I was following from their customer service rep!! Outrageous! I tell them this is unacceptable and they said I could try talking to the billing department to see if they would adjust the fee. I wait on hold yet again. After finally talking to billing, they will not budge. I tell them that I shouldn't have to pay for a replacement on a phone that looks perfect - no visible damage at all - but is a terrible product that their tech dept made worse with their "troubleshooting" directions. I decided to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. In filing that complaint, I see that Gabb is not affiliated with BBB and it has PAGES AND PAGES of unanswered complaints with an F rating from BBB! Buyer Beware!!!

Stop!! Don’t waste your dollars on this cheap worthless product. Also the company itself are horrible snakes. It says unlimited talk and text but that is a lie. We had this phone less than a month (maybe 2 weeks) and suddenly calls and text don’t go through. They say it is throttled meaning we used all the data for that bill cycle. What happened to UNLIMITED!! The lousy customer service just says oh just use it on WIFI.till then. how will the kids be able to call /text outside of a WiFi area? They even try to get you to subscribe to music which for $5 which turned into more nonsense. So take pictures and videos as kids like to do plus listen to music uses up all the data leaving the phone totally useless when it supposed to be for them to call or text us in the first place. We can’t communicate. BTW, we only send 38 text. Next they try to tell me it’s under contract and will be $150 to cancel it. This is a big giant SCAM!! Stay away. I guess it’s best to talk to your lawyer and report them to the BBB. THANKS FOR TAKING ADVANTAGE OF ME GABBHOLES.

In our Terms and Conditions, it does go over device throttling. It states that you agree to use the service in a reasonable manner and within the usage thresholds established by Gabb. The thresholds are 1500 minutes for voice, 5000 texts, and 500MB of data per month, which far exceed the average usage under each plan’s “Fair Use Policy”. If you exceed these thresholds, it is a violation of this Fair Use Policy and the line will be throttled. It also may affect your ability to send and receive MMS messages, and other services including calls. It is recommended to connect to WiFi as much as you can when using Gabb Music to prevent this from happening. We can imagine how upsetting this must have been, and this is certainly not the level of service we aim to provide. We would like to take a deeper look into these issues and help make this right with you. We have reached out!

Gabb is by far the biggest waste of money. The phones are of the lowest, cheapest, and poorest quality of any phones on the market. The phones just cant pick up the service a lot of times even when it shows full signal. All of a sudden you will just get a bunch of texts and voicemails because nothing came through. Their warranty is appalling, and their customer service is... well, what customer service?? I give them 2 stars because they do protect kids - by them having phones and service that isn't operable!! What garbage. Absolute garbage!!

I did a lot of research before going with a Gabb Watch 2. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase, but I am having some real issues with a key feature-- the STEP COUNTER. My son is very motivated by it, but it stopped working. A helpful and kind customer support rep helped resolve the issue on his watch, but now the step-count information from his watch is not syncing with my app. I was told that the only resolution that could work would be to unpair and re-pair the watch, a process that would require me to re-program all the contacts in the watch and also would erase many of the fun GABB-GO coins, pets, etc that my child has already worked toward. This is not a huge deal, but I am disappointed that there is not a better resolution. Also, how can I be assured that the same step-count issue won't happen again if I go through the trouble of unpairing and re-pairing? I would possibly have to do the same resolution all over again. Great watch, kind workers-- but some of the technology seems to fall short of expectations.

UPDATED REVIEW: After posting our initial review, someone at Gabb reached out and offered to Warranty our watch and screen protector as the battery length was not performing as it should per their customer service. We were excited to have a new one sent quickly. We have used it for a few days since the replacement and don't see any problems with the battery with the new one. We are hopeful that this new one will continue to work out! INITIAL REVIEW: We have been using the Gabb Watch for about Seven months. I like that it is simple and I like that it is affordable. I have been disappointed and annoyed with how often you have to clean it for it to charge as well as for what a short charge the phone holds. Whenever my son uses it often, it runs out of battery super fast and even after a full charge and shutting it off, it won’t hold a full charge overnight. The screen protector worked when we dropped it but we were surprised how easily it broke and noticed that things like my phone cover for my cell phone are much sturdier. The customer service is torture. You have to interact with them so many times and it feels like they don’t even hear you.

Had an issue with our contract as the payment was much higher than the agreed rate but customer service has been above and beyond amazing getting everything worked out and following up months after to ensure everything is still working great. Megan has been one of my favorite customer service people ever. Highly recommend the watch, service, and customer support.

Overall its a great idea for kids that aren't old enough for a phone. This allows my husband and I to keep in touch with her whether its walking home from school or going on a bike ride. She can also talk and text with her friends. Its not as user friendly mainly because i have an iphone. One thing i would say is make sure you back up your info. Its not an automatic function like the iphone when you are setting up the phone. Make sure you sign up for Gabb ID this will ensure back up. My daughter dropped and broke her phone. The process for getting a new phone was very easy but i was unaware of backing it up. Make sure you get insurance worth it!

The customer service call was answered quickly; the representative was friendly and helpful and I was able to understand her easily (she was obviously a fluent English speaker and familiar with how things are usually phrased in English, no confusing phrasing or unnecessary extra statements, just right to the point). She put us on hold just briefly so she could ask someone and found the answer to our question. At other times we have had to wait a long time for Gabb customer service to pick up the phone but this time we didn't.

We got Gabb phones for our two daughters last Christmas (ages 11 and 12). We had been holding off on getting them phones because of the distraction/addiction they can cause. Gabb phones have been great in that they allow us to call/text them when needed, but do not have the same attraction for kids to need to be on them all the time with apps and games. The girls don't love that they don't have iphones like their friends, but this has been a good stepping stone! I 100% recommend Gabb phones for your kids!

Gabb Wireless has been fantastic for my young teen. We have been using them for almost two years and have been very happy with the service and have the peace of mind that our daughter is not exposed (to the best of OUR abilities) to social media and such. We have had to contact customer service a few times and they have always been great, although calling in takes much longer. Highly recommend this phone/service for any parents on the fence about getting their older child/young teen a phone.

The phone only sent one out of every ten photos or videos when my daughter tried. Want to cancel your service? Good luck!! I have been trying for 6 days, spending over 2 hours a day trying to connect with someone online (as there is no phone number to call) and they make you wait for 30 min+ for them to respond, and if you don't respond immediately (because there is no alert when they do), they will disconnect the chat. Bought a Gabb phone for our oldest of 4 hoping to use it with all of them as they came of age, but will never, NEVER deal with this company or their products again.

I would give this company, no stars ever! Crappy company! The watches kept overheating and burning my kids wrists i asked for replacements and never happened. So i canceled my accounts and created a payment plan. Come to find out there charging me more then agreed apon because they opened another account with not any knowledge to me. So im being charged even more. I asked for refund several times and all i got was a let me look into it for you and no answer. There customer service is awful, bunch of niwots. They do not care to help they just want your money, stay away from them.

I had Gabb wireless for awhile for a child but it didn't work to well. I canceled it via email BEFORE they withdrew it from my bank account. It was STILL taken out of my account. I chatted with an agent from the company and wasn't getting anywhere so I file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They tried to get in contact with them but they weren't able to get a response. I was able to find another company that works allot better and is more reasonable.

I’ve had these now for a year for my 2 youngest. It seems like a great idea but I have serious complaints about the service and the company. 1. You really have more control and information from an iPhone. While yes, an iPhone is initially more expensive, you can see their texts, you can take the internet off of it, and the device itself is WAY more durable. 2. It is fascinating that there are a plethora of apps for Bible study available for this device… how about meditation or Buddhist teachings which are ALSO evidence-based 3. There is zero customer service. My daughter earned her iPhone back and I cancelled her line back in July at the obligatory 1 year mark. I am still getting billed for it. I have reached out to their “customer service” via email, because besides chat that is the only option, and have received zero response. But that has been my experience with the company all along. They’ll have a live person for you to speak with when you’re interested in signing up but after that, crickets. Don’t waste your time or your money on this company.

Gabb has proven to be pretty glitchy for us. We had a lot of trouble setting up the location tracking at first. Then we had issues with the messenger update. The last issue we were unable to contact our son on the phone because it kept giving us an error that he was not connected to WiFi even though he was. It was frustrating. and concerning since we needed to be able to reach each other. We have had to contact Gabb Support on many occasions.

Honestly, my entire experience has been awful. The phone took hours and a totally unproductive chat help session to get set up (the "server was slow," so that's why the code they sent to activate the watch was wrong? What?) Eventually, I had to figure it out myself, because their support person seemed to know very little about the basic setup of the watch. Then, it gets set up, but it doesn't make or receive calls OR send/receive texts. It was my son's birthday present, and it's broken on day one -- it doesn't work at all, minus the silly games and noises. This was a total waste of money. Get literally anything else.

I bought my son a Gabb watch to be able to get in contact with him and to be able to locate him (and thus build trust). The location setting was not working. I spent a panicked hour trying to find my child, following his continually moving location on my phone. I finally went to where he was supposed to be only to find him there with his watch in his bag, not moving, not 1/4 - 1/2 mile down the road or in the woods or in some strangers house (all of which showed up as his location during the hour of trying to find him). This is wholly unacceptable. This watch is supposed to help us feel safe and not put me in a panic thinking my child has been abducted or is being rotten. And the only way to MAYBE fix the problem is to unpair and repair...wiping all the history, contacts, lock modes, etc. that we set up (which we have already had to do twice before in the 15 months we've had the watch for other reasons). I am really really unhappy, and I unhappy with the way finding a potential resolution (because who knows if this will actually work...do I trust the location ever again?) was presented. Terrible "customer service." Major problem if the location settings can't be trusted.

Two things went wrong. First of all, the phone stopped receiving messages and phone calls. The phone would turn on, but we could get no cellular service. Second, after I called to cancel the service, they charged $4.51 to the account for taxes owed. Because my credit card on file was canceled due to fraud, the payment for $4.51 was charged. I got a late fee of $10. Gabb refused to waive the late fee of $10. I had to pay $14.51 for $4.51 of taxes due. That is a late fee of over 200%. Ridiculous. This company has horrible service. Stay away!! UPDATE: Gabb called me back after they saw this review and they offered to waive the $10 fee. I really appreciate the responsiveness and desire to correct the wrong. I changed the stars to 3 from 1. I still did have issues with their cellular service, but at least the billing issue was resolved.

I am updating my review because a great representation of the gabb company finally reached out to me to not only fix my daughters service issues where texts weren’t coming or going through but we were able to come to a compromise regarding a replacement phone. Though it’s not the exact solution I was hoping for, it shows Gabb’s willingness to make their customers happy to keep them and I’m very grateful for that and will be staying with them like I had wanted to begin with. The people were nice, but referred me to different people. Sue called me back to update me, but no one else did so I had to keep calling and then explaining AGAIN what was going on. Then Jett told me on Friday to send pictures of my phone and they’d send out a new one, but he never did get back to me so I had to call again Monday and start over. Thankfully, the woman with whom I spoke today was able to get me set up with a new phone coming, but only after having me go through the whole process again. I have 5 hours of phone time into this and still won’t have a phone for work for at least another week to 10 days. I’m giving 3 stars only because people were nice, even the ones who didn’t follow through. Maybe you could work on communication between the associates so people don’t have to start at the beginning each time they talk to a new associate and to communicate with the customer. It would have been nice if, when they said they’d get back to me, they did. Thank you.

Customer Service is 5 stars, but the watch would be 2-3 stars! The battery drains quickly, it doesn’t have a 9-11 feature and have had several issues with the watch not charging on the dock. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting tips ie. wipe watch & charging base with an alcohol wipe, tried plugging into different outlets, had to change out the plug with my iPhone charger to get a charge, used a Q-tip to put pressure on the gold charging plates on the back of the watch to clean it; received a new watch and a new charger—but came on once. Therefore, not using it as often. I did receive a month credit since my warranty just expired and support did offer professional cleaning—but don’t want to cause a longer delay. It seems the shelf life is a year; before likely having to buy another one. I do like knowing where my son is when wearing ie. away camp trip, out jogging, school etc… but the battery needs charging daily. It does charge quickly—once it actually works.

Perfect for your kids first phone. It’s a great way to teach them how to respond to a text message, answer a call, and be responsible for a device. Obviously, the fact that Gabb doesn’t have social media is awesome but teaching kids the the basics of having their own phone is important. We had a Gabb for 2 years and there were a few times it would glitch. It was pretty frustrating but the customer service was decent and helped us out. I’m a fan of Gabb and would recommend it to anyone looking into a beginner phone for your kiddos.

Great experience once I called. The only down fall was when we purchased the phone and were transferring the number from a different carrier, there was no instructions in the box for that. We have never had to do this, so we were not familiar knowing that we had to get a transfer pin number. The agent we spoke to was very helpful. She answered all of our questions and we were totally satisfied in the end thank you.

We really like Gabb for our kids, but the downside is the online chat feature, while sometimes helpful, can be a pain. It took fifteen minutes for the chat agent to understand. Maybe it was a communication issue on my part, but after the fifteen minutes, the chat agent reiterated what I already said. Products are fairly decent. My son doesn't like that he doesn't have an iphone or apps like his buddies, but that's a cross I'm willing to bear. Pricing is great.

This is a great phone! It offers peace of mind for parents wanting to allow their kids to be kids and to be safe with technology. Delivery was fast. Service has been great!
