The Bad

  • No Product Details
  • Social Media Page Glitch
  • Very Few Reviews
  • Very Young Company

No Product Details

Smooth Solar does not give any specific information about the solar panels it uses for installations. The company's website states the panels are made of durable tempered glass and require little to no maintenance. This is vague and does not give the details potential customers need to adequately compare solar providers.

When choosing a solar company to work with you want to know the products it uses. It is important in consumer research to have specifications on the company’s choice of panels and their quality, output, and durability.

Social Media Page Glitch

Many companies choose to have a social media presence across platforms to instill confidence and build credibility. Smooth Solar has linked a social media page but does not seem to have a page set up for its company profile. This tells consumers this company either does not care about its online presence or it is unaware of how a dummy link looks to a potential customer.

Customers want to look for solar providers that have a strong online presence with company pages that have reviews on many platforms, robust detailed information about services, and a valid address. Not having these minimal resources gives an uneasy feeling about Smooth Solar.

Very Few Reviews

Other than the few reviews on its company page, we were unable to find any other reviews for Smooth Solar Power. Good references and reviews are arguably the best way to avoid hiring a company that does poor installation work.

Very Young Company

As a rule of thumb, we recommend using solar providers that have five years of experience. Experience and time in the industry are crucial considerations. Experienced and well-trained contractors are less likely to cut corners and will provide an all-around better customer experience for clients. Smooth Solar is too young to meet our recommendation standards.

The Bottom Line

We would not recommend using Smooth Solar Power as a solar provider due to a lack of information, reviews, details, certifications posted, contact information, and examples of past work. Converting to solar energy is a large investment, and we recommend looking for a company that has been around five years or more, has several positive reviews, and openly discloses company information.
