The Good

  • Full-Service Solar Installation
  • Industry Partnerships
  • Competitive Warranties
  • Roofing Experts

Full-Service Solar Installation

Nevada Solar Group supports homeowners at every step of the solar installation process, and provides clear timeframe expectations ahead of time so customers know what kind of systems they’re receiving and when:

  • Site survey (1 day) — the initial site survey and energy audit allows Nevada Solar Group to evaluate the home’s candidacy for solar, the current electric bill, and potential energy savings.
  • Contract and financing (1 day) — if the home qualifies for solar power, Nevada Solar Group will work with homeowners to determine the best financing option (either direct purchase, or a 1.49+ percent solar loan) and set the terms of the service contract.
  • System design (~3 days) — Nevada Solar Group’s expert team will design a custom solar panel system that meets the home’s energy needs.
  • Permitting (~3 weeks) — the solar provider will also handle all the necessary paperwork to secure city permits and ensure the system is built to code.
  • Solar installation (~5 days) — once the permits are secured, Nevada Solar Group’s solar technicians will install the system on the roof.
  • Inspection and walkthrough (~10 days) — following the completed installation, Nevada Solar Group will contact city officials for a final inspection.
  • Interconnection (~3 weeks) — the final step before homeowners can begin monitoring their systems and saving both money and energy is interconnection with the utility grid, which requires service from the local power company.

Industry Partnerships

Nevada Solar Group installs a wide range of Tier 1 solar panels including SunPower, LG, and others, and inverter and monitoring technology from SolarEdge and Enphase. The company has also partnered with well known names in the solar industry. First, the company is a Panasonic Solar Premium Installer, meaning Nevada Solar Group has met high installation and customer satisfaction standards to install one of the top solar panel brands in the industry.

Nevada Solar Group installs solar energy storage solutions from Enphase and Tesla, and is a Tesla Powerwall Certified Installer. Solar batteries are quickly becoming the most sought-after solar system upgrade because they improve the overall efficiency of the system and can be integrated with other energy saving systems like EV charging stations.

Competitive Warranties

Nevada Solar Group warranties solar power systems in a number of different ways to ensure homeowners are protected from damage or other unexpected issues. The solar company provides industry-leading 25-year warranties in the following areas:

  • Equipment — protects against faulty or defective system components (from the manufacturer)
  • Production — ensures the system will perform at the agreed-upon rate
  • Workmanship — protects against installation errors and accompanying maintenance
  • Roof — guarantees a leak-free roof for the life of the system
  • Panasonic panels — ensures every Panasonic panel system is built to last

Roofing Experts

In addition to solar energy system installation, cleaning, removal, and reinstallation, Nevada Solar Group is also an roofing expert. The solar company has been named a Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, and also installs roofing from companies like Shingle Master, GAF, and CertainTeed.

Plus, Nevada Solar Group is also qualified to install low-profile roof vents and other roofing features to improve home energy efficiency and overall durability.

The Bad

  • No Lease or PPA Options
  • No NABCEP Certification

No Lease or PPA Options

Though Nevada Solar Group does provide low-rate solar loan financing, the company does not appear to provide homeowners with cost-effective financing options like solar leases and power purchase agreements (PPA). Neither of these options qualify homeowners for solar panel ownership, state rebates, or federal tax credits; however, they can be useful for customers on fixed budgets who would rather rent their systems rather than be liable for installation and maintenance fees.

No NABCEP Certification

Nevada Solar Group is not an NABCEP-certified solar installer. The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners represents the “gold standard” of solar technician training programs. Companies with this designation have undergone advanced installation training and are true experts in their field.

The lack of certification does not imply poor service quality on Nevada Solar Group’s part, but can be a useful differentiator for homeowners evaluating multiple solar installers.

The Bottom Line

If you live in California, Nevada, or Texas, and would like to work with a local company with thousands of successful solar installations under its belt, Nevada Solar Group could be the right option. The company protects its systems with a number of warranties guaranteed to provide peace of mind to homeowners, and has partnered with industry leaders to deliver systems built for optimal performance.

While the lack of NABCEP certification and additional financing options may dissuade some customers from investigating the company further, we encourage readers to obtain a free quote from Nevada Solar Group and compare the company’s rates and proposal to other leading solar providers in their state.
