Harvest Solar Energy, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has decades of experience selling a large selection of renewable energy products. It sells products ranging from solar panels and inverters to battery storage solutions, wind power, and outdoor lighting options.

Its goal is to offer a holistic approach to energy through the use of technologies like solar electric, solar thermal, and wind power — all designed to help customers reduce their dependence on fossil fuels while also saving money on their energy bill.

The Good

  • Industry Experience
  • Quality Brands
  • Financing through LightStream

Industry Experience

Harvest Solar Energy has consistently served the solar industry since 2002, and has maintained superior technical expertise through its time in business. The solar company provides customers with a unique and veteran perspective on how solar technology has evolved over time, and can provide recommendations on the best solution to meet a customer's specific needs and goals.

Quality Brands

Harvest Solar Energy has developed relationships with the top manufacturers of solar suppliers in order to be able to offer its customers the best. The company provides solar panel modules from leading brands like Panasonic, Q CELLS, Canadian Solar, and Mission Solar - all of which rank highly for energy efficiency and product warranties.

Solar inverters, meanwhile, are supplied by industry leaders like SolarEdge and Enphase, as well as Sol-Ark, Generac, and Fronius. To improve the overall efficiency of the PV system, Harvest Solar Energy also provides solar battery and energy storage/backup solutions from Generac, Sol-Ark, and more. Systems generally come with a 25-year equipment warranty, depending on the manufacturer, as well as a three-year workmanship warranty.

And if it doesn't yet have a relationship with a specific brand that is not listed on its website, Harvest Solar Energy can often procure them.

Financing through LightStream

Harvest Solar Energy has partnered with LightStream to provide homeowners access to affordable, low-interest solar loans. Loan terms are flexible, and have no fees or home equity requirements. Customers can receive funds quickly, which can greatly reduce the installation time of their residential solar array.

What more, for every solar loan processed with LightStream, the lender will plant a tree.

The Bad

  • Limited Customer Reviews
  • No NABCEP Certification

Limited Customer Reviews

While it does have an excellent portfolio of solar projects, Harvest Solar Energy has very limited customer reviews. This can make it difficult for interested customers to determine the quality, speed, and longevity of the work Harvest Solar Energy does.

No NABCEP Certification

Harvest Solar Energy has not been certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP). The NABCEP is a nationally recognized organization responsible for some of the most respected and sought after technician training programs in the solar industry. Companies with this designation have expert installers on staff who have been trained in the latest solar installation techniques.

The lack of certification should in no way disqualify Harvest Solar Energy from consideration; however, it can sometimes make a difference to homeowners comparing multiple solar providers in their neighborhood.
