The Good

  • Top-Level Solar Equipment and Batteries
  • Competitive Warranties
  • Electric Vehicle Charging Systems
  • Solar Financing Options
  • NABCEP Certified

Top-Level Solar Equipment and Batteries

Ecohouse Solar sources its solar equipment from leading panel, inverter, and backup battery manufacturers. Among others, the solar company uses solar panels from JinkoSolar, which come with a 10-year materials warranty and can average greater than 20 percent energy efficiency, which is considered elite level in the solar industry. The company also features solar inverter solutions from industry leader SolarEdge to provide real-time monitoring of your solar panel system.

On top of its quality solar installation projects, Ecohouse Solar also sources backup battery solutions from Enphase, SolarEdge, and LG Chem, the last of which is considered a leading provider of solar energy storage. Upon request, Ecohouse can also install EV charging stations compatible with their solar panel system. In short, the company provides customers numerous ways to reduce their carbon footprint and save on their monthly utility bill.

Competitive Warranties

Ecohouse Solar panel systems are designed to perform efficiently for 25 years or more and, per the company website, provides robust warranties “to match” — the implication being the company’s warranties are of comparable length. If this is the case, and Ecohouse Solar truly offers customers a 25-year workmanship warranty, the company would be considered an industry leader in this regard, and customers can take confidence knowing their system is built to last.

Electric Vehicle Charging Systems

If you have an electric vehicle, Ecohouse Solar offers EV charging station options that can help you save more time and money. It is also worth noting that installing a solar EV system you can get a tax credit for the PV systems used as part of the charging system, in addition to increasing the property value of your home.

Solar Financing Options

To make the switch to solar simple and affordable, Ecohouse Solar provides financing options through its trusted partners, Service Finance Company, LLC and the Clean Energy Credit Union. An Ecohouse Solar representative will work with you to determine the best financing options for your needs.

NABCEP Certified

The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) is considered the “gold standard” certification program in the solar industry. Companies, like Ecohouse Solar, that employ NABCEP-certified technicians distinguish themselves as true experts in the field, as this certification is earned through advanced solar installation and technology training. This certification indicates to customers that Ecohouse Solar PV systems maintain high industry standards and are less prone to installation errors.

The Bad

  • No Lease or PPA Options
  • Limited to Central Ohio

No Lease or PPA Options

While Ecohouse Solar does provide customers loan options from both Clean Energy Credit Union (12-, 15-, and 20-year terms) and Sunlight Financial (20-year terms), the company does not appear to provide customers with either solar lease or PPA options, despite these options being readily available statewide. Solar leases and PPAs allow customers to low monthly fees for solar energy without paying significant fees in upfront or maintenance costs.

Limited to Central Ohio

Ecohouse Solar’s services are limited to Central Ohio. Considering the state is home to more than 200 unique solar providers, Ohio is considered a competitive solar market. Promoting verified Ecohouse Solar reviews from actual customers can help the company stand out from the competition.
