The Good

  • Simple Solar Process
  • Quick Installation
  • Covered Maintenance and Repairs
  • Moving Options
  • Positive V3 Reviews

Simple Solar Process

V3 Electric strives to make switching to renewable energy as simple and straightforward as possible for its customers. The process begins with a professional consultation, during which a trained surveyor will visit the property and take readings to evaluate energy consumption, shading risk, how to ensure maximum energy efficiency.

After that, the customer chooses from the following payment options: purchase, loan, lease, or PPA. Then, the surveyor's observations are sent to the design team for final plans and permits. When the system has cleared this process, installation begins.

Quick Installation

Once V3 Electric gets approval from the customer's city or county, the company will call to schedule the solar installation. Typically, a crew of 4 to 6 installers will be at the home for 1 to 2 days. Once installed, V3 Electric works to get the system interconnected with the grid, after which it becomes fully operational.

Covered Maintenance and Repairs

Following a thorough roof inspection, V3 Electric provides its customers with a warranty that covers system maintenance and repairs for 20 years (unless otherwise stated in the contract; the company advises referring to the sales rep or contract if in doubt). Solar panels very rarely require maintenance, but the company will monitor each system's production around the clock and if it notices something wrong, it will schedule an appointment to come fix it.

Moving Options

If a customer needs to move while under contract, a simple transfer of utility will take place free of charge to the new homeowner. Several studies have shown that adding solar to your home immediately adds value to your home and can actually help it sell faster, and many potential buyers recognize the value in lowering their power bill.

Positive V3 Reviews

As of July 2022, nearly 90 percent of the verified V3 reviews posted to Best Company have awarded the solar company a perfect five-start rating. V3 Electric customers report helpful customer service from the V3 team, professionalism from the roof contractors, and actual year-end solar savings. Customers that combine solar energy storage with a solar panel system from V3 Electric also report higher satisfaction ratings, and fewer power outages.

The Bad

  • Limited Availability

Limited Availability

Currently, V3 Electric is only available in California. The company has offices El Dorado Hills, Dublin, Yuba City, Vacaville, Rancho Cucamonga, and Victorville, as well as warehouses in Northern and Southern California. Promoting verified V3 Electric reviews can be an effective way for the solar company to stand out amid a crowded and competitive solar market.

The Bottom Line

V3 Electric is a rooftop solar contractor that offers a variety of payment options. The company offers a simple solar process, quick installation, covered maintenance and repairs for 20 years, and moving options. However, V3 Electric currently only offers service in California.

This company has repeatedly done everything to make our solar experience as pain free as possible. We have had solar through V3 for almost 2 months. Our pg&e bill was between 400 and 550 dollars a month. We have received our first bill from pg&e having solar for a complete month. I am happy to say our bill was 14 dollars. We are all electric. The customer service is amazing! My questions were answered and if they did not know the answer they found someone who did and called me back to let me know. A BIG THANK YOU to all that worked with us these last few months.

I got 3 separate bids, like they advise you to do, with V3, PetersenDean and Solarhut. All professional and I have nothing negative to say about any of them. However, V3 is the one that stuck out to me with how thorough they were explaining the process and I didn't feel rushed into making the decision. Ultimately, it came down to what made the most sense financially and the quality of what we were getting longterm. I have been happily installed for a year now and will gladly keep sending my friends and family to this company. I also want to praise the sales individuals who assisted one of my close friends. They told her that it did not make sense to get solar in her situation - it would have cost more money no matter how you sliced it for her and out of the 6 companies she spoke with, V3 was the only one to confirm her beliefs. Honesty is a big deal when you're making a large purchase and there is no question that this company values just that.

I have had V3 panels for just about a year now. The process took a little longer than expected. My county's building department took extra time to get my project approved, but their office was consistent on following up and keeping me in the loop. I am liking the end result. Looking at my utility bill, it's been lower than ever. I signed up for a better utility plan and that's just what I got. One happy camper.

I have seen some reviews from others saying that V3 claims to be SCE or PG&E, and maybe some of them have, but they came to my door, were very polite to both myself and my husband, and the statement they made was about who we are CURRENTLY set up with - not falsely identifying themselves. Listen when people talk to you or don't leave a review. I have been a happy customer TWICE with this company and have made a few bucks by referring my close friends to them, who also love working with them as well. Thank you for getting us all set up, V3!

I just got my 2nd true up bill and it was a credit! I didn't purchase my solar, didn't make sense for me financially, I went with the PPA option, and I am paying half what my neighbors and friends have with PG&E. V3 had to fix a few things with my system but that's to be expected with the circumstances. I suggest you call V3 and see what they can do for you. Stop letting PG&E make you pay them for their mistakes!

If you want to have a hassle-free experience with solar, I would choose V3. They did everything from start to finish and kept me up to date on any changes that needed to be made. I wanted to know my options before getting started and they gave me multiple and explained the pros and cons of all. I am glad to have solar and be rid of paying too much for electricity!

Loved the idea of a sunpowered energy service. Saving money now, not forking over money to the monopolistic utility companies of California anymore! The people who work there are the best. You don't really see companies operate this way anymore. Old fashioned values, honest, and very nice. Installation took longer than expected, but it wasmt V3 holding up the process, it was Placer county. Anyhow I reccomend them completely.

Couldn't be happier with V3 solar. The install process was incredibly smooth. It's a no brainer. I don't know a lot of people with the income or cash to buy a system, so V3's utility plans just make sense. V3 has full responsibility of the system, so I can count on them to keep the system and battery working properly.

I've done a lot of research before committing to any company. Ended up going with V3 because they're a company that's here for the long haul. Got set up with a solar system with two Tesla Powerwalls. PGE bills are practically non-existent and I don't have to worry about these ridiculous power outages.

My Powerwall system has been working magnificently for me this past year. My system has been saving me thousands annually. Process was extremely easy and I don't have to worry about the hassle of maintenance. V3 takes care of you.

I looked around for a lot of solar recommendations. A lot of people recommended purchasing the system, but I decided to go with V3's plan. Very simple. No lien on your home and you're paying a flat fee to V3 instead of the big question mark of a PGE bill. Satisfied with my savings and over the moon with the quality of my system.

V3 did a great install for my system. They accomplished the install, permits and got it operational in about one month. I called once with a question, got an informative answer, they called me back in 30 minutes to see if that fixed my issue. Great folks in my opinion.

The absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. No customer service. Only people who contact you are schedulers and they have no idea what’s going on. They have lied to us numerous times on what is happening with our project. They installed the wrong breakers, let the permit expire etc. We have been waiting for 8 months and still do not have our system hooked up. Do not use this company

Suggest AVOIDING this company like the plague!!!! It’s been 4 months since our solar panels were installed and they’re still not connected. Customer service is non-existent, literally. Passive responses with no action. They’re blaming lack of connection on the city and SCE. Yet, I’ve seen other reviews with same issue. We rushed to get brand new roof for solar panel installation and now they’re just sitting in our roof and we can’t even utilize them. The installers broke tiles on our new roof, did shotty repairs and promised to replace tiles we gave them. Needless to say, the tiles still have not been replaced. The Salesman was kind and seemed trustworthy, only to disappoint. Do solar companies get credit from the government on solar panel installations? That’s the only reason we can think of why they would install them but not connect them. Don’t let this company scam you.

Be very careful if you decide to purchase your solar system from V3. I made that decision the past September after giving it almost a year, I have a $20,000 system on my roof and see very little change to my SMUD bill. The sales rep was a fellow named Leo who bordered on incompetence. As I was waiting for work to start, many weeks into the process I received a $4,000 change order. According to their Customer Service Department, Leo knew about the change order for five weeks but failed to send it to me, when I received it via an email from the company, I immediately called Leo to find out what was going on. He immediately tossed his customer service department under the bus and blamed them. I realized I have made a mistake in selecting V3. When I called Leo’s manager, a fellow named Dante, he told me what a great guy Leo is. I am not looking for a friend, I was looking for a competent sales person to manage this project. Their Customer Service department was always very responsive, but when it came to getting the system up and running apparently they have not worked with SMUD enough to know their requirements and delayed the system being turned on. How is it you sell solar products and do not have a complete understanding the requirements of the local utility? Now the system is up and running, my SMUD bills haven’t some much of a decrease. Working with their Customer Service Department I sent them a copy of a current SMUD bill and they told me they would like to monitor the system. This was back in May. My recent requests with a copy of current SMUD bills have gone unanswered. I understand things are challenging due to COVID-19, but not to respond in any fashion is unacceptable. So now I have a $20,000 investment in a solar system seems to be woefully under engineered to handle my electrical needs. I did everything right with the exception of choosing the right company. If you are looking for a company to handle your Solar purchase, please heed my cautionary tale and look elsewhere. Unless they ever decide to get back to me with some help as getting my solar system to supply the power they promised, I would say avoid this company at all costs. If they are still in business and decide to fix this for me, their customer I willl update this review.

Decided to go with the V3 plan because I couldn't afford to buy my system. Works wonders. Should anything happen to my system, I won't have to worry about the maintenance costs. V3 takes care of it all. Impressed.
