The Bottom Line

Ross Solar Group services three states for residential solar solutions, and backs its systems with a 25-year warranty. They offer a variety of financing options, and have been in the industry for more than a decade. Their lead installer and designer, Jason Ross, has installed over 800 solar systems, so customers can rest assured that this company knows what they are doing. The website is not as user-friendly as it could be, and doesn't include key information like if residential solar solutions include online monitoring.

Ross Solar installed my solar system and I couldn't be happier. All portions of sales, engineering, installation and follow up have been done in a timely and professional manner. Once all work was completed, all clean up was done as well. Not a scrap to be found! Periodically I've had several questions about my system and how it works and Ross Solar has always replied in a timely manner. I have no complaints whatsoever. My system was installed over a year and a half ago and I am thrilled. Last year, I only received a bill from the electric company for 3 months out of the 12. That is 9 months with a basic meter charge ONLY! Amazing! If I were considering going with solar again, my only question [to myself] would be "What's holding you up?" I wish I had done it years ago. I highly recommend Ross Solar. Please give yourself a HUGE gift you'll love by calling Ross Solar today.

Ross solar group did an excellent job. My system was installed in June 2015. Their office employees were always available to talk to when in the design stage. I received help with all payment options and financing. They arranged for all the permits needed and inspections after the installation. I have an easy to access monitoring web site to check on my solar output each day with comparisons to past years. In the almost two years I have had the system I have not had any need to call them with an issue.

First, the good. All work done back in 2014 on the property was very professional, and they cleaned up everything. They did help me secure all the grants from both the state and feds, as well as the approvals from the town and CLP to do the work. However, it took me months to get them to come back and do the tree trimming and install the free water heater they promised. The sales rep also swore to me that my system would generate enough credits so I end up with a zero electric bill for the year. I only get that in the summer months, so that was greatly exaggerated. The system cost $40,000, of which I had to pay $19,000, so I will never break even. As far as monitoring goes, YOU have to call them if there is a problem. My system was offline for a few days for some reason, and nobody called to tell me, I just noticed the flashing light on the system, and called 3 times to get a hold of someone to get me back online. I have left messages for the owners several times, and they seem to have better things to do then worry about customer satisfaction , and they only call you back when they are waiting to get paid. Ross solar has been magnificent every step of the way for my solar installation. They designed a terrific system for my house. The 10.8 Kw system fills up nearly every inch of my roof. I highly recommend this family business for a very professional installation of your system.
