The Good

  • Financing Options
  • Home Energy Consultations
  • Dedicated Customer Care
  • Cutting-Edge Technology
  • Solar Panel Cleaning Service

Financing Options

One of Glyde Solar’s biggest strengths as a solar company is its financing options for both homeowners and renters.

Glyde Solar offers Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), leasing options, and purchase options through loans. Regardless of the type of financing you choose, there are zero costs upfront.

  • Lease — Glyde Solar owns your system and is responsible for maintenance. The monthly cost is fixed with an annual escalator. Net metering is available, but you do not qualify for tax credits since you do not own the system.
  • Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) — PPAs are similar to a lease, except the monthly payment will vary depending on how much solar is produced by the system.
  • Loan — With a loan, the homeowner owns the solar system and qualifies for tax credits. The monthly payment is fixed, but the homeowner is responsible for the maintenance of the system. Net metering is available with a loan as well.
  • Purchase — Glyde Solar customers have the option to purchase the entire system upfront and immediately begin saving on electric bills.

Home Energy Consultations

Glyde Solar goes beyond just selling solar panels; it prioritizes overall home energy efficiency. The company’s specialized home energy consultations help identify areas where energy can be conserved and wasted energy reduced. This holistic approach not only benefits the environment but also potentially lowers your energy bills, making it a win-win situation.

Potential areas of energy efficiency improvement include the following:

  • Insulation
  • LED lighting
  • Roofing
  • HVAC
  • Pool pumps

Dedicated Customer Care

One of the standout features of Glyde Solar is its commitment to providing excellent customer care throughout the entire process. From the moment you express interest, the team commits to taking the time to walk you through the intricacies of solar energy. This personalized approach ensures that customers are well-informed and confident in their decision to adopt solar technology.

Cutting-Edge Technology

With the introduction of the SaticShield PowerBox, Glyde Solar stands out as a company that is invested in ensuring the energy generated and received is as clean as possible.

The PowerBox eliminates frequency fluctuations and energy waste while protecting your home and family from harmful electromagnetic radiation. This technology showcases Glyde Solar's commitment to innovation and the well-being of its customers.

Solar Panel Cleaning Service

Glyde Solar recognizes that maximizing the efficiency of solar panels is essential for reaping the full benefits of solar energy. The company’s SolSweep Panel Cleaning service helps homeowners maintain peak panel efficiency, ensuring optimal energy generation over time. This added service emphasizes its dedication to a comprehensive solar solution.

Needs More Reviews

Existing reviews of Glyde Solar are a combination of positive and negative, but the quantity of reviews overall is small. For a more dependable analysis of review themes and sentiments, we’d like to see more Glyde Solar reviews.

Customer reviews can be an invaluable resource for prospective solar customers. If you’ve hired Glyde Solar for a solar project, please leave a review below.

Marketing Calls Disclaimer

Glyde Solar's approach to gathering customer information for quotes may pose a concern for those who value their privacy. By entering your name and contact details, you consent to receive marketing calls about products and services. While this disclosure is transparent, some individuals may find the potential for marketing inundation intrusive and undesirable.

The disclaimer also mentions that these marketing calls may be made using an automatic telephone dialing system, potentially categorizing them as telemarketing or advertising under applicable law. This automated approach could be off-putting for customers who prefer more personalized interactions.

The Bottom Line

Partnering with Glyde Solar offers a few distinct advantages, from its personalized customer care and commitment to energy efficiency to its innovative technology and panel cleaning services.

The company places a strong emphasis on the transition to clean energy, not only as a wise financial investment but as a contribution to a greener and more sustainable future. Its commitment to transparency and customer satisfaction is evident in the positive reviews it has received.

However, Glyde needs a stronger base of verified customer reviews in order for us to draw conclusions about how the company stacks up against competitors in regard to customer service. And the potential for marketing calls and the use of automatic dialing systems might deter some consumers from obtaining a quote online.

As with any substantial investment, including solar, consult reviews and read all fine print in a contract prior to paying for home services.

Really hated this whole experience. High pressure tactics. Told I could change my mind, so I signed while being rushed through a contract and being video recorded during the signing. Changed my mind after inspection when inspector shows up in competitor's hat. Threatened with $1000 fee, and they did me a favor of reducing it to $400.

There’s so many slow companies out there that exist. So much uncertainty I had at first going through the process. Most all companies said they’ll be no mistakes that will ever be made. Glyde Solar was quick and made me feel like they cared whenever I had a question or when something during the process was holding the project back. If you’re considering companies I can tell you in Colorado they do a premium job. Thanks !

Everything was going great up until the installation. They came out and began the installation on my home on July 1st. Since then, they've had the electrical inspector out five times and still haven't passed. It's now been 2 1/2 months and my first loan payment is due. They promised me I wouldn't have to pay anything until the power was turned on, but as far as I know we're still weeks away from that happening. I've expressed my concerns but can't get in touch with anyone on the management team, and no one is doing anything to help. Weeks would pass without hearing a thing. Then suddenly they'd send out another inspector, even though no one had come around to make any changes. Their whole company seems deeply disorganized and incapable of keeping this project on schedule. Now I have to make a payment on a solar array that's sitting on my house doing nothing. Go with a different company that is more on top of things and willing to help. Edit: As of 9/26, I've received my refund for my first loan payment and it sounds like everything is finished finally from Glyde's perspective, so the utilities should let us turn the power on soon. I'm grateful Glyde took my complaints seriously.

It took way too long to get it up and going to where I had to make 2 payments on the loan before my solar was even turned on. It has been turned on for 2 months and they still haven't came and added more insulation yet or done the duct sealing. I am not happy at all!!

Thank you so much for your review. Every customer’s opinion matters to us as we continually strive to improve our service. We’re sorry that you are unhappy with how long the system took to be turned on. Unfortunately, once the panels are installed, we must wait for permission to operate the system from the utility company, and it is out of our control when that comes in. We would be even more grateful if you could contact us to tell us what we could do to improve your experience.

I would highly recommend steering clear of Glyde Solar. These guys are just about selling you panels and moving on. With our system it took forever to get the system permitted and installed, the sub-contractor they used (I'll have a review for them, too) sent workers that don't even speak English. How can you communicate with your customer when you can't speak the local language? We contracted for REC panels, and on install day they arrived with a cheaper panel. No one spoke to us beforehand about switching equipment, so I'm suspecting they were hoping we wouldn't notice. They also showed up one panel short. They finally got everything installed and sent the inspector out. Guess what? Inspection FAILED!! They sent guys out to supposedly fix it, but they have still not scheduled the inspection. We signed the contract in June, and here we are going into December and we're still not on. I call and text. No response. I guess since we were cash customers they got their money and ghosted us. I guess I'm on my own to try and get this inspected and turned on . At least I got to know a few folks in the inspection office and Duke Energy so I can do this, but this is something Glyde should be doing. If I could turn back the clock... Jason S is as awful as they come. If that guy comes knocking on your door I highly recommend kindly turning him away. His cohort Marcus will say anything to get you to sign. They're terrible. If we ever get this thing working, I hope we don't ever have a warranty issue. For those reading this, steer clear!

They have screwed us over. Panels don’t work. No one will come out to fix them. Been a year. I have to pay them 164 per month plus my normal electric bill. 200 or more on top of the 164. Stay clear. No customer service. Stay clear

Horrible communication, were not there when we needed to connect the system so instead of it being done fast it became a even bigger hassle. They take their time with every step which makes the process horrible for you. Worst company I have ever dealt with. Very unprofessional.

I'm a gutter subcontractor in DFW who was stiffed by Jesse S. Homeowner financed the project, paying in full for solar and gutters. No one can get in touch with Jesse, who apparently took the money and ran. Avoid this company like the plague.

They are trying to do a large change order for no reason, I’m assuming this is a scam they normally try.
