The Good

  • Flexibility with Payment Options
  • Quality of Panels
  • Workmanship Warranty
  • Upgrades

Flexibility with Payment Options

Fluent Solar helps its customers go solar in almost every way imaginable. You can buy the panels outright with cash, sign a lease or PPA, or get a loan through Fluent Solar or your local bank.

With a lease or PPA, you'll be able to pay little to nothing down, lock in your rates, and be covered for the next 20 years. But you do not own your solar system with a lease or PPA.

Keep in mind that some payment options will make more financial sense depending on what state you live in, but know that Fluent Solar will get you set up your solar installation with whatever option is best for you.

Quality of Panels

Fluent Solar sells and installs SunPower panels that come with a 25-year warranty. The SunPower solar panel system ranks as one of the most efficient and cost-effective installations in the solar industry, with an industry-leading efficiency rate of over 21 percent per panel.

Workmanship Warranty

To provide you with peace of mind, Fluent Solar provides a one-year leakage warranty as well as a 10-year workmanship warranty. These warranties ensure that the installation of solar panels on your roof has been completed properly and that Fluent Solar will cover you in the event of an error on the part of the solar installer or contractor.

Upgrades

Fluent will install critter guards as a solar upgrade.

In addition to solar, Fluent Solar offers home energy upgrades including the following:

  • Attic foam seal
  • Attic insulation
  • Solar attic fan
  • LED light bulbs
  • Google Nest thermostat

The Bad

  • Warranty Length
  • String Inverters Unavailable

Warranty Length

While Fluent does provide an adequate workmanship warranty for a solar company, there are some competitors that offer 25-year workmanship warranties.

String Inverters Unavailable

An inverter is the part of your system that converts the solar power your panels collect into the power your home uses.

There are two inverters that companies usually use for installations: string inverters and micro-inverters. Micro-inverters are better in areas that have more shade but are more expensive than string inverters. String inverters are efficient in very sunny areas and are cheaper than micro inverters.

Unfortunately, Fluent Solar does not sell any string inverters which means you'll need to use micro-inverters for renewable energy, even if you live in an area that is good for string inverters.

The Bottom Line

Fluent Solar is a strong contender in the industry. With its variety of payment options, SunPower panels, and 10-year workmanship warranty, you can be assured that Fluent Solar will take care of you and your solar needs.

Solar Power is new territory for my family and I, Thank you for the knowledge and patience our Sales Rep. Derrick took to thoroughly explain how our family could benefit from the Solar Program through Fluent. As well as our options if we ever decided to move and wanted to take the equipment with us! From the first introduction Derrick was easy to speak with clearly explained every step of the process. There is an entire team working along side him making sure things move in the right direction! Great Team!

They're professional and they're good at what they do. It's really helping out with my energy bill. During install they pretty much stayed outside, I watched them install the whole thing. They got it done done pretty quick. When you call in It doesn't take long for them to pick up.

When we had questions they were always answered in a timely manner. The installation process was pretty uneventful. When they first got here, we discussed what they were going to do and I agreed and then they did it and that was it. The equipment so far is working fine.

TERRIBLE...TERRIBLE...TERRIBLE. What else can I say, after getting the system installed, been waiting for 18 months from one failed inspection to another. How a company that is in the solar business treat their customers (used very losely) so bad! Now after installation from June 2022 and still waiting for the system to get inspected and working, a leak has developed. Will they expedite the process to get the leak repaired?? NO! They want to get the system "in service" before doing any repairs. If I could give negative stars, I would! If I could warn as many people as I could, I am trying. Hope this company stays in business long enough for me to sue them for damages and get my money back. No way I can get 18 months of my time back! :(

So far we are happy with our install and use of our solar panels. The process was quick and any slow down was due to my schedule. We unfortunately just got them up and running and it's winter in Ohio so skies are mostly gray. We have noticed production even on the gray days so we will see how the electric bill is affected. We had a problem with the initial start-up call scheduled for 3:30 and received the call at 5:30. This was because of a time difference between states so hopefully they made note of that and corrected the time schedule for future customers. We rarely talked to the same person twice, which seemed not so personal, but the customer service was still good no matter who we were dealing with. Everyone was kind and knowledgable of our account. The app is easy to use and very basic. I'm looking forward to seeing the difference once we have the long sunny days of summer.

We had our panels installed by Fluent Solar at a much better rate than the competitors. Took awhile to get installed due to pandemic. During the wait we were kept informed and updated, However, once installed it has been great results. Whenever we contacted customer service with questions they are always eager to help and responds promptly to voice messages left. The one issue that we had when some of the panels were offline, they had the installers contact us promptly and booked an appointment, came to the home and trouble shoot and fix the issue. Satisfied customers here and highly recommends Fluent Solar. DW

My husband and I had a great experience with Jeff. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions to our satisfaction. Their system is very high tech. We felt very comfortable moving forward with Fluent Solar. It was pretty much a no brainer. We spoke to a few other companies and they just weren’t as personable as Jeff was. They personally handle the entire process from start to finish. Even the welcome call we received from the corporate office exceeded our expectations. You could just tell they had done this hundreds of times and were very on point. We would totally recommend Fluent Solar to friends and family.

Overall I don’t love how solar panels look in general. But I do like that Fluent used the black on black panels on my roof. I feel like it looks more sharp than the traditional panels. Had a really good experience. I love that they only use micro inverters, which I had no idea about going into this, but luckily they made easy enough for me to understand. Essentially each panel functions on its own, and I can track the individual production of each panel on my phone to ensure the system is producing what it’s supposed to. If it’s not preforming like it should, they come out and maintain it as per the warranty which hasn’t happened to me. The process was a lot more painless than I thought it would be. Would for sure do it again! At the end of the day I’m saving money and helping the environment at the same time!

I can honestly say I never thought I would have solar panels on house. I Though you had to pay a bunch up front for an installation and equipment when getting a solar panel system, but that way Fluent has it set up, anyone can do it without paying up front. I didn’t pay a cent prior to the panels being turned on, and they took care of all the backend stuff. My monthly payment for the panels is cheaper than what my electric bill was, and now we don’t have to be so conservative with our electricity. My main concern was what would happen if our panels stop working, but the warranty extends 25 years. What can I say, it was a slam dunk decision for us. I’m really impressed with the install as well. I’m trying to figure out how to upload pictures of my install to share. I will update my post if that feature is available. Ben and Richard were extremely nice to work with, and were really knowledgeable about the local and government incentives for going solar. Would absolutely recommend.

Project manager was great and so communicative. Had some issues with the solar at first but they were on top of getting the part to repair it quickly. I also like that the attic insulation and fan was included. They were good about following up about this even though it didn't happen at the same time as the solar instal. I thought I would have to chase that down to get it done, but they were on top of it.

Panels installed after about 4 months, needed main panel upgrade and staffing issues everywhere (not the company's fault). System installed but has yet to turn on. Have had service ticket in for about 2 weeks. Received an e-mail from service, but no solution, no calls. Supposed to have 13 months before paying financing, but I am 4 months in to my 13 months (according to the bank used) and I still can't use my panels. I am patient and I understand the staffing issues facing everyone right now. So I give 4 stars with the hope that these issues will be resolved. I would've waited to give a review, but I have had 5 emails asking me to rate Fluent even though my system isn't functioning yet.

Everything was great. The only issue we had were the ground mount poles that we're left in our garage for a bit. Seems like there were some organizational changes which led to confusion about their pickup. Communication to us was great, and all the paperwork, permissions (even the HOA!), and inspections were coordinated and done without us having to do anything!

My favorite aspect of Fluent Solar is their value. They provided the most competitive price. My next favorite is their genuinely caring customer service. They sometimes have new people who are learning, but they get it done right and have support from management to do the right thing. My system took a few months to go live but its producing more electricity than my payment, plus I get the tax advantages. Its simply a cash positive no brainer experience for me.

We had an overall great experience with Fluent, had a few small issues, but PM was quick to respond and solution made. We started end of last year, installed in March and live in April. We requested updates to the location of the boxes and the engineers listened and resolved. We are producing more than we use, even with air running. Our only regret is not making the decision to go Solar sooner.

I had been thinking about solar for some years, and when I met Cody and Bryce I felt they were people who would take care of all the details you would expect with such a complex system. And, they sure did. They were always available to explain what would happen next and when, and answer questions I seemed to continually come up with. I also want to recognize Mickey from the install team who camouflaged the front roof conduit so well that I forget its there, and Adrian who patched the stucco around the new electrical panel like you would expect from a true artisan.

Now is the time to put in solar. Bryce L has been amazing at walking us through every step of the installation, and he follows up often to make sure everything is running smoothly. Which it is. It is so wonderful to now have a electric bill shocking me every month! The federal rebate will offset half of the cost. Bryce will show you all the options for payment.

I bought my home in Sun City less year ago and have done many upgrades. I got several bids on solar power, and Fluent Solar was by far the best. My sales rep Jake was very informative and guided me through the entire process. He found the option that worked for me. The install was perfect, they even upgrade my main electrical panel. 10/10 would Recommend

Smooth process start to finish. No complaints. Very informative presentation. High level of customer service. The time it took from enrolling to install took a little bit longer than I thought, but that’s because city took longer issuing the permit. I didn’t mind though because I didn’t have to pay for anything in the mean time, and I wasn’t the one in communication with the city. They were. Couldn’t be happier with the savings, and I love tracking my panels’ production on my phone.

I got installed with Fluent Solar back in May of 2017 and couldn’t be happier. Our representative was courteous and professional, and their team ensured that everything was hands off for us after moving forward. I had a concern that my panels wouldn’t preform since part of my roof gets shade for part of the day, so they made sure that my system had microinverters so that each panel works independent of each other. I’m just happy that I no longer get any charges from Duke power, and I didn’t have to come out of pocket to pay for anything up front. These guys have it together

If you're like me you read reviews. I have read some of the one star reviews and let me tell you I the total opposite experience. From the start I trusted this company over the abundance of other companies that have tried to sell me solar. Nick my salesmen was freaking awesome. There was no pressure (unlike other companies) he understood my concerns addressed them and came back with a reasonable plan. Once approved I was introduced to Luis my PM, he took care of all the backend stuff and made sure I had any other concerns addressed. Anytime a question came up no matter how small I could reach out to either Luis or Nick and they always got back to me sameday with an answer. So far the only thing that seemed to have taken the longest was waiting on the city to permit the job. It's been about two months or so and my panels are now installed. Oh, we can't leave the installers out of this. Adam the lead on the install came in at 7am 8/13 and had a 26 panel system installed (with help and a electrician) by 11am. Now we are waiting on the inspection so I can flip the switch and start saving money! Big shot out to Fluent and everyone that is on thjs project.

I thought solar panels would be too expensive but after being bombarded with ads claiming they were free I looked into it. My house has a good southern exposure so I thought it made sense. I found out from the first company I spoke with, they were too expensive. I had a meeting set up with FLUENT and was about to cancel but thought I would hear them out. I'm glad I did, they gave a proposal that made sense financially. Otherwise I would not have done this. I have recommended FLUENT to co-workers and friends. The system was installed in 3 weeks and actually got done prior to the original install date. The people I worked with were great and answered all my questions when they were asked. I am satisfied with the work and look forward to monitoring the energy production.

This is a horrible company and they have no idea what they are doing. Took months to finally get the system working for inspection. Issue after issue over the battery and the wiring of the system. They never have anyone that knows anything about battery. They should not be selling something they know nothing about. And now after the system has been finally running for 4 months the battery stops working. I called the support line to have someone take a look at the issue as the system is not even a year old. I am now being charged $350 to have someone come out and look at the issue. They tell me I have to pay this “deductible” to validate the technician is “paid”. And all before they even come out to look at the issue. This company has horrible customer support and they try to scam you. Do no do business and go somewhere else.

Reading some of the reviews I agree with most. Stay away from fluent solar. They don't tell you the whole truth. I'm still trying to talk to them about how many of my panels are working. They were supposed to put them on my garage roof facing west but instead told me the engineer told them that the front of my house facing north would produce just as much solar. I found out later that the guys took the easy way out instead of going into the attic above the garage to run conduit They decided to just run the conduit over the peak to connect the north facing roof with the south facing roof. I haven't been able to get through to them for months. Either there's a technical problem with their phones or they never call you back. Do your research, I wish I had. I'm still paying my electric company due to not providing enough through solar.

The system seems to be functioning as promised. The installation was done in a timely fashion. Coordinating the installation and inspections was slow with poor communication. The wiring had to be corrected upon inspection. After all being said staff was friendly and helpful. I think they were overwhelmed with the amount of work. I believe the product sales itself so everyone was very busy.

I am satisfied with the installation of the solar panels but the company is falling short on the follow-up it has been a month since the installation and they finally got the walkthrough of the startup after many calls from me but an error occurred so it is not generating power yet and they have not followed up. Also the ceiling of my garage was damaged during installation it just needs a sheet rock replaced if I was not an old man I could have done it now we have extreme cold weather coming in that could cost me more than the solar panels future value will be everybody I talked to in this company is friendly and helpful but I am beginning to believe think they are more interested in selling products then taking care of customers

Late August: Salesman knocks on my door. I’m interested and move forward. The process was enjoyable and went smoothly, everything else was a complete s#!t show of incompetence. I was assigned a P.M. to handle my job. We met and discussed my desires. I knew that my mast would not meet code and we needed more room in my breaker box, so I decided to add that to the contract. My P.M. referred this request to the main office. I got emails from local electricians for quotes. Fluent couldn’t seem to figure out how to add the cot to the project, so I spent $7k out of pocket to get the mast and meter base upgraded. P.M. sent photos of work to office. Install date is now set to Nov. 8. Next week I get a text requesting photos of the new mast and meter base. I respond to contact the P.M. who already sent them. Later, I get a call from an electrician to provide an estimate for the electrical work. I get another request from Fluent for photos of new electrical work. Install date is pushed back 2 weeks due to heavy work load. A couple days before original install date my P.M. texts to find out where I want my equipment dropped off for my install on the 8th. I ask if he’s kidding. He was not informed of the install change. I get another call from an electrician to quote mast and meter, and another request for pictures from Fluent so they can set the install date. I respond to that request with my project has been approved to move forward and the install date has been established for a several weeks. Materials dropped off day before install. Day of install, it snows in the morning. Installers can’t work due to heavy snow fall. They leave at around 8:30. At 10:00 they come back to pick up batteries they left charging on my porch. It is now sunny and the snow has melted. They call Fluent to get approval to install but can’t contact anyone since the office is not open yet (I’m in Eastern time office is Mountain). They leave. Later that day I get a call telling me my install date has been postponed and I’ll get an email with a new date. I call my P.M. only to find out Fluent eliminate all P.M. positions and he can’t do anything. I call Fluent’s office and talk to several people who can’t do anything. A manager calls back due to my anger while talking to the previous customer support agents. The new install date is Dec. 8th. Two Installers show up at 9:30AM finish in the dark at 6:00PM. The previous three installers could have completed the job on the original date, but didn’t. Two weeks later I call the city to see why I haven’t had an inspection yet. I’m told one wasn’t requested. I call Fluent to schedule one. A week later the system is inspected and only passes because I tell the inspector I’ll put the missing warning stickers on where they go. Now I’m ready to turn on my system but don’t know how because nobody bothered to show me or leave literature. I have to learn on the system manufacturer’s website (SolarEdge) and local electrical utility company. I turn the system on with no joy. I call SolarEdge and a technician had to sync the inverter to the panels. I turn the system on and it works. At this point, my panels have been on my property for a month on my roof for over two weeks and not produced a single kilowatt of electricity. Early January I receive a call from SolarEdge telling me that a bank of 6 panels are not responding and they’ll call fluent to come out and check it. Two weeks later a technician checks them and says they’re fixed. Those 6 panels work at about 1/10 efficiency as any of the others and usually not at all. The inverter company has issued another request to repair the 6 non-functioning panels as of April 2023. Still no response From Fluent.

In the beginning Fluent Solar was great. Before I signed all the papers I was able to get a hold of someone to answer questions and validate my concerns. Now that the panels are on my house I cannot get anyone to call me back. The panels are not producing even half of what they told me they would produce. For 6 weeks I have been trying to talk to someone about this. I was told 6 weeks ago that they would cut down trees if needed. When I asked for it in writing they said that wasn’t necessary that they will do what they need to do to get the panels where they said they will produce. I have had the panels for 3 months. 6 weeks ago I started asking about them cut it g down trees and every week I get the same thing, “let me look at your file, call my boss and I’ll get back to you today or tomorrow “ I have started requesting to speak to a supervisor and have been told “there is no one for you to talk to”. DO NOT GO THROUGH FLUENT SOLAR

This company screwed me over by not knowing the logistical basics of what they got me in to. They installed solar panels on my house only for me to find out that my electric meter was placed on a part of my house that violates Idaho Power Statues. Now if I want solar power, I need to pay 11,000 to move my meter to the front of the house. How did this company not foresee this? It's like it was their first time doing business. Their contracts are specifically designed to screw over customers if anything goes wrong. I can't afford this. I might lose my home. Thanks Fluent Solar. Do not use this company.

I was a little skeptical with mixed web reviews. However, Install went super smooth thanks to the superb 3 member team who gave all the information before and after install.

These people RUINED the look of my home by having no rhyme or reason as to why they installed the panels the way they did (it ruined the appearance of my home). So, I made them come back, and the manager who came out noticed the install team had dropped a panel, which busted (but they still installed it)! The manager ordered a replacement that has been sitting outside for 2 weeks. I called them today, and they didn't know anything about it. I would attribute the problem that everyone is having.... poor labor. However, the same was true with communications, scheduling, and manufacturing. When you call them, scheduling acts like you are a terrible strain on their day, and they do not want to talk to you.

The salesperson was friendly and helpful, the installation was done in one day, and the system was up and running the day after First Energy (Ohio Edison) came to change out the electric meter.

Everything went Great from start to finish just took a long time to compete. Do not know if electric company were draging the feet or Fluent was to busy but up and running great now. Happy with the prodution . Four star because of time to get up and running.
